All I can say to the staff at Middle Country Automotive in Selden is:Thank you so much!I have had too many bad experiences with mechanics in the past so I was very weary when searching for some in my area, but after seeing the online reviews for Middle Country Automotive, I took a chance and brought my Jeep Grand Cherokee to them. From making the appointment to picking the truck up after being serviced (and everything else in between), the customer service I received was fantastic. Everyone who I spoke to was friendly and personable, and I ultimately felt comfortable enough to have them work on my truck (this says A LOT because I have an inherent distrust for most mechanics). While it wound up not being anything too serious, they were able to fix the problem with my exhaust system within 2 hours of me dropping it off to them and soon enough they were calling to let me know that it was ready to be picked up. I was also expecting to pay a lot more than I actually had to, which is also a huge plus. After this experience, I will absolutely be returning in a few weeks when its time for me to get my inspection renewed as well as a few other services that I know need to be done.

I highly recommend middle country automotive at their selden location. They were very kind and explained everything to me each step of the way. I needed a broken window motor repaired and a diagnostic on some other issues. They were timely and very fairly priced. I was also really impressed with their follow up phone call a few days later to make sure everything was ok. Really great patient people and receptionist was a very kind lady. Will def be going back for bigger repairs that are needed.

Nothing but great experiences with this shop. Prices are fair,, but more importantly, you dont get any BS from them. They recommend only what is needed and do exactly that. No trying to sell you on service or parts that you dont really need. The only thing more important than quality in this business, I think, is honesty - and they know it. Great service and highly professional. Also friendly, which feels like a rarity sometimes. Very impressed with their timeliness too. Ive been to great shops in the past that took a week to do the work...in the 3 times Ive been in here, I was out the same day.

If you like a condescending rude douche bag, this is the place for you. I recommend going somewhere else. The guy named Troy that approached me had nothing but a attitude from the moment I got there. Theres no where to park in there lot, unless you want to park your nice vehicle in the dirt. Save your money and time and go to one of the many other shops around the area.

Good, honest people here. Truly looking to help you out and make sure you get the best deal. Took my Chevy here to fix the catalytic converter after months of deciding and they quoted me one price, which made me cringe. After the work was done, they told me they were able to save me some money on how they fixed it and ended up saving me ~$800! That’s an honest company there! I also asked them to not change my windshield wipers because I had just done them myself and they said they don’t do anything on the car until they run it by me. Oh! News to me considering ANOTHER unnamed shop changed my windshield wipers after I had changed them myself WITHOUT asking me, and charged me for it! I’ve recommended family/friends to them and they’ve all had great experiences also!

Ive been a customer for 14 years. My husband and I bring both of our SUVs (Ford and Suzuki) here because they are the only auto repair shop that we trust. I know when I have to get an inspection, I can trust their analysis, and if they say I need a repair I do. Each staff member is always professional, theres never a question that goes unanswered, never have they made a repair that I didnt approve, and each repair is explained in detail by the mechanic that is working on the automobile. In todays world it is rare to find an affordable auto shop that you can trust and where the work done is of excellent quality. Also, you know its a great place when you see the same employees each time you return; year after year.

On a day thst I might not have done this, due to hurricane, these guys picked up my car, serviced and returned it. Ive been a customer for 5 years and have always been pleased. Thank you guys. Highly recommended.

I used the afterhours drop off service and someone called me about my car early the next day. He told me what was wrong with my car, as well as other servicing it would need soon, in a very low-pressure way. The work that needed to be done was done quickly and for a very reasonable price. They also put protective covers on the seat, steering wheel, and floor, which I really appreciated!A very good experience overall, Ill be coming back!

Over the past couple of years I normally came here for New York state inspections for my motorcycle. Today I came to have the oil pan gasket replaced on my 2004 Ford Taurus because jiffy lube of St James overfilled oil reservoir by 2 quarts. I dropped the vehicle off at roughly 4 oclock and was told it would be ready by 5 the following day. I received the call at 11:30 a m the following day telling me my car was repaired and ready to be picked up. When I picked up the car I notice the check engine light was on but was unable to address the issue with the mechanic at that time, went back later that day around 4:30, the mechanic immediately brought the vehicle in and notice the O2 sensor on exhaust was accidentally damaged by the mechanic, they ordered the part and fix it in a half hour. There are other service providers that would have said the O2 sensor was faulty before they fix the vehicle, I appreciate that the shop was honest and took care of it immediately. my wife is very happy that the car was fixed before she had to go to work at Stony Brook University hospital. HAPPY WIFE HAPPY LIFE 💘 This is a very professional and organized operation.

I dont like incompetance nor unprofessional people at a place of business and thats all so abundant on long island with peoples attitudes. Where I am from San Francisco and lived in upstate new York customer service is the norm Anyhow I finally found a place that gets it right. I took my car to Volkswagen and another auto dealer and they could not fix the problem and actually criticized me and tried to overcharge me to do the work. I went to Middle Country Automotive and that was it. An estimate one fourth of what the other places charged and I did the work and the car was running like never before with new fuel pump and a proper price. Professional and when there was a glitch in the paperwork it was immediately taken care of and I was given a loaner car on my next occasion. This place is seriously a great place and they do act like family you will see for yourself. Give them a try I have a foreign car and I go there for everything now as I trust them. Ask for Keith they are smart and professional and give you real deal stuff so you dont have to go to nasty scum places that take your money and treat you like your an idiot. This place is respectful. TLC and VW tried to charge me over $2000 for a job and I got it done here for under $500

Fast excellent service. Dropped my car off in the morning. They called me by late morning and told me what had to be done to my car and why each thing had to be done. They gave me a price and by days end the car was ready to be picked up and the price was a little less than the price they had told me. Would recommend to this place to all.

Excellent service every time. Ive been using this place since 2004. They seem honest, and they generally get the job done right the first time. They run a nice clean shop -- the waiting room and bathroom are clean, and the car is still clean when they finish working on it, and their secretary is friendly and competent and on top of everything. And sometimes they say a job was too quick and they just refuse to charge for it.

Excellent shop! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and more importantly fair. If you get a problem fixed here you wont be coming back for the same problem, and thats the way it should be. On top of that they educate their customers. If you live in Selden or the surrounding areas this is the shop for you.

Weve been going to them for two generations. They keep track of all the maintenance on our cars and send reminders. They offer email receipts. Their most redeeming quality is that they are looking for long term customers and demonstrate that through their customer service. When a repair is needed (exhaust, brakes, etc) they will give you an honest appraisal about how urgently it needs to be done. They also have offered advice on potential car purchases which served us well.

Go here if you want to get screwed into things you could have done in seconds by yourself, their excuse is well most people we would think can’t blah blah blah. I asked how easy or hard it would be and they made it seem quite complicated only to watch a video later that was so simple anyone could replace a cabin filter. Don’t recommend this place to anyone.

Great experience from the moment I called. I am usually very wiry about taking my car to the mechanic and get checked up. Though I have to say speaking with Jeff and his knowledge and experience on my vehicle showing me step by step what he seen wrong and where he got his information was reassuring and made me feel like a regular then just some new costumer walking in the door. I was there today with my Chevy Suburban. Keith and everyone there were very professional, and patient when explaining the different observations they saw when inspecting my truck. The work was done quickly, and at a very reasonable price. On Feb 8 at 1:15pm Called for a photo inspection the lady on the phone pleasant said as long as it isnt rain its fine mind you it did in the am my car was dry the I get there the guys say no not today because its cloudy really PAL I took it elsewhere in out in 10 minutes lost a possible customer an I wouldnt recommend lazy on a photo then lazy at work

Been going there a few years with two cars. Found them friendly and helpful. They drive me to and from my house 2 miles away.The cars always run great after service. They take you right away and if you have an emergency they will take you in. There prices are a little high but they are honest. I just had a problem with one of the techs and I wrote them a long complaint. They called me the next morning and told me to come right in and the owner Keith would have a look. I did and he fixed the problem where the other guy said oh they always break even if you dont touch it and its 200. So they have my business.

Ive brought my truck over here numerous times for more work than I shouldve invested. On that note, the cost is fair, maybe a little more than some places, but they dont just wing it either. Its hard to find someone to talk to about details of work sometimes because everyone there is busy busy busy. Everything holds up though, so no complaining here!

It was my first time going to Middle Country Automotive. I went there for my belts to be adjusted and my for blinkers to be fixed. I went there around 9 am and they were finished with me in a half hour. There were a few cars ahead of me. The staff made me feel like I have been here before. It was a comfortable atmosphere. It was easy as 1,2,3! Overall, I totally would recommend this place to a friend.

I have a 2006 chrysler 300c ......been there for an oil change in 2012, did a good job. then my radiator was leaking and my front end was making a noise so i brought my car in on 2/15/2013.. besides the 2 things that needed to be fixed, they went above and beyond the needs of my car ! not only were the helpful but the did an excellent job fixing my car ... it drives like new again .... i know some mechanics are a little sketchy. but these guys are as honest as they come ! i wanted my transmission fluid and rear differential fluid changed as well, and they really did the work !! honesty and a super clean shop !! thanks !!! i will recommend my family and friends

I have never brought a vehicle into Middle County Automotive however when I called today the man(Joe I believe his name was) was very helpful in answering my questions even though he informed me that the engine and vehicle I needed guidance on he didnt have experience with for 30 years. He sent me in the right direction, was very professional, and wished me luck and to call back if I needed any help. Thank you for a breath of fresh air phone call when you dont expect such patience calling a mechanical company.

My mother needed to get her late-model car inspected. She tried to get it inspected at two other places and they wouldnt give her the inspection unless she agreed to expensive and unnecessary repairs.Thank you to Middle Country Automotive for performing the inspection, having morals, and not screwing over a senior citizen.

Horrible service and incredibly dishonest. I came in at 9 and waited 2 hours before they even took a look at my car. They couldnt diagnose my cars problem, instead a guy pointed out several different problems. When I asked the mechanic who was working on my car about these problems, he said there was no problem. Based on the suggestion from mechanic at the front desk, I decided to get my transmission mount changed. They charged me $150 for the mount and $100 for the service. Later I did some research and turns out the mount actually costs $40. Not only this but they told me to come pick up the car at 2pm, when I came to pick it up, turns out they didnt even start working on it yet. I left at 4pm. What a bunch of scam artists. Dont go here!

Today was my first time using Middle Country Automotive (MCA) and I thought Id share my experience for those interested. I brought in a 1996 Honda Accord. After checking it, Keith met with me and explained that he found a very slow leak but it did not need to be fixed immediately. He also reported that my maintenance indicator light just needed to be reset. So, I wound up paying only $37.00 for my inspection. He could have lied and said any number of things needed to be repaired and I wouldnt have known the difference, but he didnt. He was honest, knowledgeable and pleasant. I liked the receptionist, Kelly, as well. She was very friendly and tried her best to make me feel comfortable as I waited in the lobby. Im so happy I found a mechanic in the area that I can trust. So, if youre in search of a good mechanic, I recommend MCA. I hope this review was helpful. :-)

I am a snowbird and had my truck serviced in Florida. It needed to be looked at up here so my auto shop in Florida recommended MCA. Absolutely wonderful experience and will use MCA for all car service up north. Have recommended Joe and his crew to friends and family.
