Mavis Discount Tire is a trusted and honest place to take your car. Everyone there is very friendly and have always worked with me with anything I’ve needed done. Nice guys working there. Always willing to help. Just had tires installed. They recommended wiper blades being replaced—which I knew had to be done. I have after market heated wiper blades and they were very careful taking them off to put on the regular blades. I always get good service there.

I love this place. I have been using them for years. I deal with Kevin the service manger( who I can’t say enough great things about). I leave there confident knowing Kevin has made sure my Vehicle is safe to drive my children around.( I do this often, so it’s the best feeling in the world). I never have felt like I have over payed . I am confident they will always do right by me.

I’ll never take my car anywhere else ! Every time I walk in they are friendly and accommodating, if they are not able to get my car in right away I’m always told up front rather than waiting for an hr plus in the waiting room watching other cars pulled in before mine (which has happened at numerous other shops). This is honestly the only place I go for oil changes/ inspections & any quick fix. The guys always do an awesome job and I’ve never had a complaint! After having issues with a different shop I came into Mavis in Selden without an appointment for an oil change and inspection. Joe the manager was great. All the staff were very friendly and the wait time wasn’t bad at all. Selden Mavis will now be my go-to place for my truck.

Their tire prices and advice are really great and I havent been able to beat them yet. They offer price matching and most of the time its not needed. Ive shopped online and the local competition. Their service prices especially on brakes (unbeatable) are reasonable as well. Ive not been given the strong upsell, and in terms of their advice on what needs to get done vs what can wait has been spot on (my father was a mechanic and Ive done some of my own work myself so I know my way around a car for the most part). Definitely recommended.

I star because you have to...Dont waste your time making an appointment and expecting them to honor that appointment. The walk in clientele takes precedence over your appointment. Long time customer will never bring another vehicle or recommend this location to anyone all because they want to take care of the walk-ins before the scheduled appointments. RIP STS

Had front brakes and rotors done. They got me in and out very quickly and gave me a very competitive price. Brake pads are guaranteed for life! I also had my tires rotated there for free. Also, all employees were masked at all times. Highly recommend!

Awesome service. I walked in to get a recurring slow leak fixed. The manager said both tires needed replacement which I had know but been putting off. He got me in right away and replaced both tires within a half hour because I had no way to leave it. I will definitely come back to this location.

Been using them for year. But the new manager and workers lie. Took my cargo van e150 to do wheel alignment. They told me they dont work on cargo van too heavy but I told them they work on all my 3 vans before. Then I went to the other location and they will do it. Will not use this location or Mavis again.

Excellent service! They went above and beyond for us. we had a nail stuck in our tire on our way home from getting dinner. Even though they were already very busy and close to closing time they took us anyway and quickly repaired the tire. Today I went for an oil change around 9:30. I didnt drive away until 12:30. I waited 3 hours for an oil change. Second, on the order it said synthetic oil. After the car was done, the technician told me he filled the car with regular oil because he thought its better - without asking me. And third, I had 2 pens on my center console before the technician took the car, and now my pens arent here. If you cant trust an employee, it makes it very difficult to trust the company. I wont go here again for anything.

This place used to be great. Now a simple 20 minute job is 5 hours minimum. I was a loyal customer and now took my business elsewhere.

I had brought a previously purchased 4 tires (Cooper brand) from this location (Selden, NY) for my wifes 2004 Honda Civic somewhere about a year ago. The valve stem went on one of the four tires (front right). I know it was the valve stem and not the tire it self because upon going around checking all the tire pressures on each tire the front right began to leak and not reseal out of the valve stem. I put my ear to the valve stem to ensure this was the issue and it was clear that it was coming out of the valve stem.A little after lunch (12:30 pm or so) I brought the tire back to Mavis where it was bought from and explained the issue. They told me that they would not be able to get to it untill first thing in the morning. But they did tell me it would be addressed first thing in the morning. It is now 1:36 pm the following day and I have called twice about updates on my tire. The tire has still not been addressed. Additionally I had a family friend who is also a life long mechanic noted to us also that their was a problem with the valve stem on that tire and should be addressed sooner then later. A 15-20 minute job has been put off and is now taking over 24 hours now. The tire was dropped off yesterday to ensure they could get to it asap, but this is now absurd at this point. The customer service at this location is poor at best. Lastly, the worker on the phone tried to explain he was doing me a favor, when they are the ones that have sold a product that failed,and they are doing me a favor? That is the most ridiculous comment ever. Mavis discount is discounted alright... But I think it represents a discount on quality of product and discounted on the quality of service. I am very disappointed and frustrated. I may be calling corporate next.

After getting the complete run around at another car shop that ran out of oil, they were able to get my car in and out fairly quickly! All of the staff was very considerate and courteous, especially following such a frustrating situation.

Went in there to get my 4 brakes and rotors done. I purchased the rotors and brakes at autozone and needed them to install it. They told me a great price for the 4 brakes and rotors and once it was on the lift they changed the price and told me the price was per axle. I had no choice but to pay. This happen to a friend of mine too so that is why i ask for price before hand and they still scammed me as well. Not worth fighting just need my car back.

Open later than most mechanics on Thursdays! I called ahead to see if they could fit me in for an oil change, Joe told me to call back in an hour because there were customers ahead of me. When I called back they said they could take me right away, I came in and was out within 25 minutes! The mechanic who worked on my car had brought a separate mechanical issue to my attention, for my own safety! Highly recommend this location.

I went into Mavis Discount Tire in Selden to have my brakes done, an oil change and replace a belt on my car. From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out, it was a very good experience. Gio kept me informed of the status of my car. Doug worked on my car and they did an excellent job and even stayed late to finish it. I would go back again and have told my friends to bring their cars there. Very professional staff there.

You should tell the people extra things cost at the beggining. Not before try to charge them. Manners folks manners not about money. Also fat and bald guy at the register is rude and cocky

Waiting outside a soon-to-open Mavis Discount Tire in Selden (NY) in 22 degrees is not what I wanted to be doing at 8am on a Saturday.Having to serve the five other grouches waiting in that same line before me is likely not want the MDT staff wanted to do either.The MDT staff handled themselves professionally and without any indication that answering the same question three times in a row from one customer was in any way a strian on their patience or even particularly unusual.At days end all my work was completed as agreed (4 tires, 2 rear shocks) for slightly less than what it would have cost at a dealer.Also, a very pleasant surprise was to find that all the available web discounts had been applied without my needing to ask.

I have started going to this place quite recently and the experiences I have had are good. The guys there were courteous and the service was fast. If there were any issues with my car they have always made me aware and gave me the best options available. I highly recommend this place.

This company had my car for a week for an oil change! The car is still leaking and the cocky district manager wants us to bring it back again. Haa We will never use Mavis again. Got 4 cars with their tires. Incompetent service and they will have to pay for a professional repair. Court pending...Dont let this company fool you. They are responsible for anything they have screwed up. They call that business insurance.

Fake 4.2 star reviews **BEWARE**USE CAUTION** 6HRS FOR 2 TIRES AND NEVER EVEN BROUGHT THE CAR IN. WoRsT ShOp on Middle country rd. Hands down. Complete waste of time. Dropped my accord off today 8/24/19 at 8am when they opened for 2 new tires. I asked the service writer about how long? he said a couple of hours i replied not all day? He said No. I called 5hrs later to check on the status and he said it was just going in and would be done by 2:30pm. I show up at 2:30 and my car was still in the same spot UNTOUCHED. I will be filing a report with the Mavis Headquarters (Millwood NY) as well as the Better Business Bureau as well. Completely unethical business practices or incompetent staff possibly both.

I made an appointment for an inspection... I waited over an hour. I ended up leaving. They didn’t give me a heads up about how long the wait would be. I have never waited this long just for an inspection... especially with an appointment at that. Waste of my time.

This was the first time I went to this Mavis location. The workers were very professional,Informative and polite. I plan to return ther for all my car maintenance needs.

This Mavis is much better than the one by my house in Shirley. I will continue to go to this location in Selden, much better overall!

Needed new tires desperately, and my tires are a weird size, the guy at the front desk started calling around to get them because he didnt have any in stock and he found some at another Mavis. We left to go get my truck so they can put them on and by the time we got back the truck was delivering my tires!! The guy at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Definitely worth using this shop!!

**EDIT- FYI- I went back to the shop 11/24/2020 and spoke to the Store Manager Joe, he listened and acknowledge what happened, showed empathy with a genuine apology and offered to fix the damage that was caused to my rims by their tire machine and manager confirmed it. (Elizabeth regional manager basically said I was lying about the damaged rim). The TPMS was corrected on my dashboard as well. He offered to fully rectify the situation with the tires and the rims the employees damaged which I appreciated. I just don’t feel comfortable leaving my vehicle in the shop with those workers.BEWARE! DO NOT GO HERE, DO NOT TRUST THEM!! I had called up the call center and ordered four Michelin defender LTX tires on Thursday, 11/19/2020 Spoke with the representative and he assured me that my tires would be at the Selden location by Saturday 11/21 and I could come in on Monday 8 AM to get all four tires done. I drop my car off Monday morning at 8 AM left it there they called me around 12 to let me know my car was done I got there 1230 to pick up my car even applied for the Mavis credit card and paid and then go out to my car and because I am diligent I checked my tires and it turned out they put the incorrect tires on my car and they put all four Michelin lattitude tours. I went back inside and the guy Anthony told me he did not know how this happened they must have just read Michelin on the tire and put them on my car because thats what was in stock, so clearly they didnt think to check the work order and make sure they had the correct tires on my vehicle, meanwhile in the morning the guy who took my keys verified with me I was getting defenders. So I ask what are we going to do to correct this and he tells me to leave with my car today and come back tomorrow Tuesday at 8 AM and they will swap out my tires for the correct ones. I called corporate when I got home and I spoke to Elizabeth the regional manager she apologized but was defending the store and then said she spoke with the store and they would have the tires by 12pm and I can go swap them out meanwhile Anthony told me to come back first thing in the morning. Clearly nobody knows anything at this place. After speaking with Elizabeth for a second time I just asked if I could just return the tires get my original tires put back on my car and get a refund because I dont even want to deal with it or trust them at this point and she said sure to go back to the store and they would take care of that. I go back to the store and Anthony says he would personally take care of my car well he did not, everybody else was taking care of my car while he stood around and watched for the most part. It took them over an hour to take these off and put my original tires back on because they were all standing around talking. After I got my car back I check the tire pressure and they were all incorrect, I ask if they can double check the pressure and sensor and they advise me they will level out as soon as I start driving but the tire sensor would need to be reset, Anthony tells me his sensor machine is broken and the only way he could do that is if he goes to the Coram store and gets their machine, so I asked if I come back tomorrow would they reset the sensors so I can know the correct tire pressure because my car did not have this problem before I brought it there. The workers basically all laughing in my face nobody wants to help me hes staring at me blankly, smirking like he thinks its funny and answering multiple phones instead of taking care of me the customer in front of him with a problem and giving me my refund. This place is a joke, the people that work there are all unprofessional and a joke. I would NEVER go to another mavis in my life. Save yourself the troubles and go somewhere else with professionalism and that know how to treat their customers. Also we are in a pandemic with COVID-19 and theyre not even wearing their masks and speaking to me with no mask on. Not even following safety guidelines.

Mike was extremely patient and helpful. After getting the run around and feeling taken advantage of at other places, mike was a breath of fresh air. He explained what I needed, and WHY I needed it. I watched him multi task and give the same personalized service to everyone who walked in. This is definitely my new go to spot for all my vehicle needs

Growing up a mechanics kid, Ive been fortunate to have some extra knowledge on cars and the servicing industry. One thing Ive learned is that, when you find a solid shop that has good people, prices, and service, you always come back. All too often, people get scammed by shops. But this is a good place, all around. Whether its an oil change, tire change, inspection, whatever you need, theyll do it well. And they communicate everything back to you, without trying to push you to buy what you dont need. I respect that.

I Booked appointment online a week in advanced, I get to the establishment the day and time of appointment and was told there is 13-20 cars ahead of me.

The young lady who answered the phone had very terrible phone manners. She Rudely in abruptly hung up the phone after I said no thanks to the tires that she offered. I will choose not to spend my money there with that kind of attitude

Compared to my previous mechanic of 20+ years, Mavis fees seemed extremely low in comparison. They have excellent customer service as well. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Dont make appointments! They mean nothing. Next time, Im simply walking in as early as possible. A 15-minute oil change turned into a 4- hour wait. Crazy!

They did an oil change on my daughters car, they didn’t put the oil cap back on. She didn’t know this and was driving around for over two weeks. The oil all came out of her engine. The car had to be towed there. From what I’ve heard this isn’t the first time that’s happened there!! Never going back.

Slowest service I’ve ever experienced. Went there for a oil change and they had me sitting in the waiting area for 3 1/2 hours. Got there sat at 12 noon and they told me it should be 45-1 hour didn’t get out till 315
