My appointment was with Nico on 8/10/21 for hair coloring and a trim. I had done a color consultation with them prior and felt confident. We had discussed rich, vibrant, natural color; looked at images, they wrote down formulas. At my coloring appointment I brought the images for review. It was supposed to be reddish brown with copper undertones-I reiterated that I didnt want orange. Considering what happened its amazing how many times I had to say this.My appointment started at 12, I expected it to take 2-3 hours. My hair was bleached, which surprised me since I was going for slightly darker than what my hair was. I assumed it was to even out the color in my hair? That took an hour+, than washed out and another color put on. At some point Nico had me check the color, absolutely not, not even close. We washed it out. Nico consulted with another stylist about formulas, and another color was placed on. At this point it had been over 4 hours. When it was washed out and I looked in the mirror, my heart sank. It is synthetic bright orange, rogue clown. I am absolutely disgusted. After 5 hours this is the result?! Exactly what I didnt want, a horrid disaster that I have no idea how it can be salvaged. Another appointment is made to do a color overhaul. Full of anger and disappointment, I basically fled the scene, unable to stay there another moment. When I got home I realized the skin at my hairline was still dyed.**Update**Went for my color overhaul on Saturday. Gabbie was great about making an appointment that worked for me. She did an absolutely amazing job on fixing the color, it exceeded my expectations based on what we had to start with. She also gave me a super cute little trim that pulled the look together. I wish so badly that I had seen her first.It is so hard to rate this experience. The first half was the worst hair experience I have ever had, but Gabbie was able to turn it around.

Love this place so much. Came in with a wild pandemic caveman cut and they fixed me right up. I love talking to the stylists, they always have a cool story to tell and you can tell theyre extremely passionate about what they do. The person at the counter also remembered my name after my second visit, which i found awesome. Good styling and good customer service are hard to come by but this place has both. This place is a bit pricey (i spend ~$50-60 per visit with tip) but its 100% worth it if you value the way your hair looks. Going to dental school out of state so I wont be back for a awhile but I hope to come back sometime again in the future! 10/10 recommend for anybody who is willing to spend a bit more to make sure they get an amazing haircut.

Ive been coming here exclusively for the past 3 years, and I only let Nico cut my hair. Nico is the best. I always love my haircuts, and Nico is so detail oriented and thorough in her craft. Anyone who comes here and gets a haircut by Nico is lucky and will leave happy.

My last 3 or 4 appointments have been with Bekki who is a master of highlights and hair painting! She consistently gives me beautiful blonde highlights that look very natural, and I always leave the salon with my hair feeling fuller and healthier. She always talks me through every step she takes with my hair care so that I can continue the routine at home. She is both knowledgeable and talented, and I highly recommend requesting her services :) See photos attached for her most recent work :)--I got my highlights redone by Sica, and she did such an amazing job! The highlights are super thin and look very natural, and the conditioning job she gave me has left my hair soft and not dry and frizzy. I will definitely be returning!

Love Bishops. It’s totally my go to spot. My regular stylist wasn’t available tonight, and a new stylist, Peter, cut my hair. Would totally recommend. He’s super sweet and did an amazing job giving me something totally new and a little edgier than I’m used to. I’m hooked.

Miki did my color today, for the second and definitely not last time, and I absolutely loved the results both times. I feel like I didnt go in with super clear direction, more just a general uhh something kinda like these ten pictures that all have completely different shades and tones of red but only kind of and also what about this? thing, but Miki ended up doing a better version of what I wanted (but wasnt particularly helpful in explaining).Shop is bright and airy (and air conditioned!), people were all nice, puppy was friendly, and both times I left, all I wanted to do was find something to do with people around so I could show off my pretty new color. All in all, excellent and Ill be back.

The hairstylist did an amazing job and cut my hair primarily with scissors! Exfoliated, steamed and moisturised face - I look at least 3 months younger!

If you like fun and funky hair go see Miki!!!! They’ve done my hair a few times now and I absolutely have loved it every time. I’ve been dying my hair since I was 8 and Miki is my favorite colorist/stylist! Miki always has different fun hair and always loves to try new things. Not only are they a Senior Stylist, but they’ve also taught other stylists. To give some context, I had dyed my hair black for several months with permanent dye and then lightened it at home myself. It turned out okay when I did it but it was pretty patchy. Miki expertly fixed it so now my neon pink and orange split dye is nice and even! I don’t trust my hair in the hands of just anyone and I do trust Miki to make my hair dreams a reality AND improve on them!I also just added my most recent sunset split Miki did ❤️

Went to Bishops for the first time and got Miki. I was nervous being my first time in a new place, however Miki as well as the front desk made my visit very comfortable. Miki did an excellent job and I will definitely be back to see her. She specializes in Asian hair which I found hard to come by in Seattle. Regardless, Miki is knowledgeable and skilled enough to cut all hair. I cant wait to go back and even get my hair color!

I have visited Bishops three times and have decided to make it my regular service. They get it right every time and I get complements on my haircut after each visit. Its been a few years since someone has said nice haircut, but ivvee gotten complements after each visit. It looks great.

First time here! Booking online was easy-same day. Immediately I felt welcome and comfortable in this shop. The FD gentleman was very friendly, COVID procedures were obviously taken care of, paperwork, (with clean pens), masks were work and temperatures were taken. Elizabeth Humphrey was my stylist and she took the photo I showed her when arriving, explained to me how exactly she can recreate the style for me and then executed beautifully. She took her time to pick out all the little hairs, had insight to how my hair was going to grow out and adjusted the trimming. My fade has been done professionally and I was shown a styling product for my hair that works so well!Thank you Bishops! Definitely will be back

When they say free to be anything you want to be, judgement free they really mean it. I love that I could go in and go bald without anyone questioning my sanity. Tran even let me buzz a section of my hair off myself. Super positive environment, which helped me leave feeling super badass, which was my goal.

I usually get my hair cut once a year, but since COVID it has been a looong time since I got it cut. Katie was absolutely wonderful, supportive and knowledgeable in cutting off 18 inches. COVID cut with Morgan Walker - Bishops has a large indoor space and Morgan made me feel very comfortable. I made an early appointment to minimize my exposure risk, as there are less stylists working at that time. They say they sanitize everything daily and between clients. They also follow social distancing rules when possible. The cut was affordable ($41 for long hair) and I added the $15 style. Morgan is amazing, it felt like I was catching up with an old friend. Its an art and a skill to be so open with someone you just meet and Morgan has it! She also gave me an amazing cut! I look forward to having her style my hair again.

Great experience all around! Very clean and safe given covid (not many people allowed inside at once, hand sanitizer everywhere, temperature checks). Anna was very friendly and did a great job listening to what I wanted and giving suggestions where I was less sure. I will definitely come back for my next cut!

Got my hair done by Miki and had a fantastic experience! They did a really cool dark balayage from dark brown into some deep colors and it came out amazing. I love it. This was over some bright pink ends on one half of my hair (the other half faded normally) that refused to go away from a split color I got over a year ago as well. They got that to lighten and everything was even and really pretty. 12/10 would recommend them!

Bishops has been my go-to barbershop for several years, and I have nothing but great things to say about them. I’ve received cuts from most of their staff who are all excellent, and I typically get cuts from Morgan who is a rockstar. My typical cut is a skin fade & drop fade which they’re able to execute flawlessly. I always show reference photos prior to starting the cut, which I’ve found to be helpful here and at any other barbershop you might go to. Their shop is really clean, and they are taking many precautions during this pandemic to keep themselves and their clients safe. Do yourself a favor and check them out if you’re in need of a great cut!

I never write reviews so that fact that I feel compelled to write one here says a lot! I really wanted to like this place considering its close to my work and prices are decent. I went in several weeks ago to cut my hair from longish to just about shoulder length. I didnt ask for anything special, no layers, no bangs, no color, just take the length off. I was surprised when she didnt wash my hair and instead sprayed my hair with water and then started to cut, but thought, whatever. The way she sectioned my hair was questionable and throughout the haircut she maybe checked for symmetry once or twice. It looked fine from afar, but when I got home I started to straighten it and noticed that the back was not straight at all... like whatsoever. Then I really started to look and play around with my hair and came to the realization that this was the most choppy, uneven, jagged haircut Ive ever received. I went straight to Hair Masters because it was closest to my house, cheap, and I didnt trust to go back to this salon to fix it. I would have been better off going to Hair Masters initially. I am still discovering new choppy, uneven sections even weeks later. So now I guess Im dealing with what I have until it grows out enough to cut it again. Unfortunately, I will not be returning and would definitely not recommend this place due to one unskilled hair stylist. I really dont like leaving bad reviews but.... yikes

Nico was amazing! We had a conversation about what I wanted before she started cutting and she checked with me throughout to make sure I was happy. I got a deep conditioning treatment (with a scalp massage) and she thoughtfully provided a hot towel to wrap my hair. I walked out of there feeling great. Will definitely rebook!

This stylist is that good and I am that selfish.Suffice to say, Bishops on Capitol Hill hires really talented people and delivers an excellent haircare experience from beginning to end. Maybe its because they ask me if I want a cold Montucky Beer to sip during my trim because I get so parched catching up with my stylist...What am I saying? Miki was my stylist and I am more than happy with my hair transformation. This place is professional and very clean. I was educated on how to care for my hair afterwards and I even had options to buy said recommend products right there instead of trying to find it on my own, which is super helpful to me. Miki was confident, which is awesome. Most hair stylists I’ve met give me the “I’ll try..I’ll do the best I can..” I did not get that here. Miki knew what to do and I will definitely be back again in the near future.

Have always gotten a great cut, no matter which stylist I get. All are great for fun, interesting conversation too. Maybe Im just lucky with the times I go, but Ive never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes either. Makes it harder to savor the free beer, but there are certainly bigger problems to be had!
