COVID NEST.Tommy Bahama on 5th avenue and 45 Street Restaurant/Bar believes he is above the laws concerning Covid-19/ Delta Variant when it comes to check the vaccination records and the corresponding identity documents.Yesterday we were a group of 14 and no one asked us for proof of vaccination.Both waiters and cooks do not wear masks. Tonight the bar was insanely crowed and no one thought it appropriate to check the vaccinations status of every guest.This restaurant is completely in violation of the law.Tomorrow I am going to report it to the authorities.If you want to be contaminated this the right place to go.
The store is a really well maintained store. Especially coming from a different location. Obviously this one has a bar, restaurant, and store connected to each other as a flagship should.As you walk in the main doors, a doorman greets you and opens the door for you to enter the lavish island-endless-vacation that is Tommy Bahama.The store is clean and the service is very fast and when there isnt a size on the floor of what you are looking for, they simply stay with you and use their communication system to call the stock coordinator to find it.And can you say free mimosas? The most interesting thing about the store IMO.Overall Id highly recommend checking the store out if that type of look is what you like.
Beautiful showroom and my all time favorite brand for beachwear and towels. One of the few places still providing classic high-end retail customer service. A class act all around and highly recommended.

Bar downstairs when you walk in and upstairs is the restaurant with also a bar. At night around 5:30 they have live music and singer. The ambiance is totally symbolizes the brand. Big leafy plants everywhere, comfortable relaxing seating, bamboo accent and comfortable lighting. The food is different than any restaurant I’ve tried in nyc. I did the restaurant week menu and I would not recommend this. There are far better things to try. If you do restaurant week the short rib was to die for along with the pumpkin soup. The drink menu was extensive of zesty and tropical cocktails.
Loss for words. Keto friendly options and a wait staff that makes you feel like you are in a luxury resort and not being judged by the streets of New York. I ate too much. I drank just enough. And my company was phenomenal. I recommend the gluten sensitive mahi mahi tacos.....youll never be the same.
I absolutely love this place! I call it a little piece of heaven in the concrete jungle. You feel like you are on vacation when you are at this restaurant. They have live music on weeknights which is an added bonus. The manager David is absolutely wonderful and made some excellent suggestions. Im a vegetarian and they were super cool about it and totally made changes so I was able to eat a bunch of things. We had a fabulous lunch. The menu has a wide variety to choose from and the location was perfect. We were shopping and to go upstairs to have lunch was great. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. For NYC prices, it was affordable for the prime location. Plus they have a rewards program for dining. Will go back.
We came here by accident, luckily their food didn’t disappointing us. For appetizers we tried tuna taco and coconut shrimp. The taco served with raw diced tuna, which was fresh and delicious. The coconut shrimp should be their most popular dish, and indeed very good. For entrees and mains we ordered pork ribs, the recommended chicken and ribeye. The chicken was the best, and the other two were not bad as well. The PIÑA COLADA cake was okay for me, but my friend said it is too creamy with too many dairy. Also very lovely vibe and service.
The various appetizers and key lime pie are spectacular... Very reasonable prices for the quality and amount of food. But restaurant has been closed for about 1 year! Google Maps should reflect this. They may be open in summer, supposedly. One can dream! Would be a tragedy to have it close for good!
Absolutely amazing food! Who would have thought that there would be such a hidden gem of a restaurant above a Hawaiian clothing store??!?!. The service was excellent too. I wanted to end the delicious meal (even though I was really full) with something sweet and the waiter came over and showed us what the desserts looked like and I was sold..and they even sell their desserts in half sizes! But the waiter was super nice - my friend was also too full and she didnt want any dessert... But he still gave us the full sized dessert (even though I only ordered the half portion) and then he later told us that the dessert was on the house! If youre in New York City, you should try this gem.
Tommy Bahama makes you feel like youre right back in Hawaii. The food is out of this world. I highly recommend the coconut shrimp and mai tais. The waiters are also top notch. We had Jarred on two separate occasions and he always went above and beyond for the customers. Recommend checking out the store on the first floor as well.
The restaurant is a surprisingly great place for lunch on 5th Avenue!During our walkabout we decided to take a friends recommendation and tried the restaurant atop this 5th Ave store. The staff was very friendly and I couldnt get enough of their home made tortilla chips.The menu was a great selection of fresh items like salads, bowls and tacos as well as burgers etc. The desserts are amazing! Especially the pineapple creme brulee.I would recommend this to the beleaguered 5th Avenue shopper who needs to chill and get off the street. Its ideal to kick back and take in the street from the 2nd floor or to just clear your head and have a relaxed escape.

My family and I are big fans of the Tommy Bahama restaurant! The ambiance is great; it feels like you’re at the beach, but you have a view of the city so it turns out to be a cool vibe. The service here was really good and attentive, and we got our food quickly, too. We had chips & guac and coconut shrimp as appetizers, and the coconut shrimp was extremely good. For my entree I had the wagyu burger, and it might have been one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Not only was the quality of the meat great, the sauce and other toppings set the burger apart. For dessert we got key lime pie, pineapple creme brûlée, and chocolate mousse cake. All three were good, but I think if I had to pick a favorite, I would choose the chocolate mousse. You can’t go wrong with any of them, though. I definitely need to make my way back here at some point.
Our experience is a little hard to rate ... we booked for a group of 9. When we arrived we were taken to a dinning/boardroom at the back of the restaurant which was separate from the main dining room. It didn’t feel like a private dining room more like a boardroom.The live music was played over the rooms speakers and we controlled the volume which was good. Being separate the service was a bit slow at times. Cocktails were great - recommend the Grapefruit Basel Martini. We also had side dishes and can definitely recommend the WORLD FAMOUS COCONUT SHRIMP and FILET MIGNON FLATBREAD.We will go back to have a meal in the main restaurant.

Always my favorite place to go when in the city. Love the atmosphere, their cocktails are spectacular, the food never disappoints and the desserts are excellent. I have never had a bad meal there and I have been there many times. I have lived in the area my whole life and have gone to all the big restaurants in NYC including several Michelin restaurants and I would come here over any of them. The live music is always nice and relaxing and the store is also great. Icing on the cake is that the building it is in is amazing. All around great experience
Had a great lunch here. Friendly staff, food was delicious, beautiful decor. Highly recommend. Suggestions, giving water when you sit down, without asking then waiting for it, and a changing table would be nice. Kids Mac and cheese was delicious but scalding hot, not ideal for a screaming toddler whose hungry!

The perfect distance from Times Square to drastically eliminate the crowds waiting for tables. Good food and quiet atmosphere up above their store. It was the perfect stop for us while we were in between Harry Potter shows.
Really great atmosphere. The Ahi Tuna is as good as youll get anywhere. Service had been terrific both times Ive been here. Its crowded at lunch so dont even bother if you didnt make a reservation. But a very good option for families or a client meeting. Not to many places in midtown where you can say that.
I love the marlin bar! After four years this remains my go to place - and a great happy hour. One request - bring back the pineapple paradiso to the happy hour menu. Long time customer who plans to return again and again - In NYC say hi to Dave the manager who is fun and so lovely.
The food service and atmosphere are amazing! Its very relaxing and very comforting to eat here. The prices are higher than a normal restaurant however the quality and taste of the food is amazing and worth it. This is a must try restaurant!!
Fantastic food and desserts. Had the tuna and the scallops. Key lime pie for dessert. Everything outstanding. In addition, there was beautiful live music playing. Great experience.
Went there for a birthday, loved it. In order to use the $50 gift card we needed to spend 100.. between 2 people! Nonetheless we managed to make it a four course meal. The seafood was cooked to perfection, the salad was very fresh and full of flavor. The mixed drinks are very tropical and make you feel as if youre on vacation. Overall atmosphere was truly relaxing, as the slogan implies. Even the desserts were great, and still somewhat tropical themed. Perhaps the most interesting part, is there is an optional stylist that can come to your table and help pick out clothes for you to try on.. totally free of charge. Would highly recommend
Fast service. We ran into an issue with the steaks not being cooked correctly but after talking to the server a manager came out and a few minutes later and back with the steaks cooked correctly. They also gave us a drink on the house for the mix up. Very impressed with the way the issue was corrected. After that the food was great. We will be returning.
Fabulous lunch, got there just ahead of the lunch crowd. Place became packed soon after. Food is delicious and with many healthy options. Good wine and Cocktail section too. Few beer choices but all good. Most of all love the Caribbean vibe in midtown. Will definitely go back!

Have been here several times. Always great service to go along with the food. The people at the bar are friendly which helps the time to go by quickly. This time we had their guacamole, tuna tacos and macadamia crusted goat cheese.

Great restaurant featuring fresh fare that is reasonably priced, sensibly prepared and intelligently served along with tropical flavors and side dishes. The drinks are also mostly tropical but they offer a variety of alcoholic and kid-friendly drinks. Nothing much to complain about here, and the only issue with this restaurant is its mission is mostly tropical and as a result the menu is somewhat limited to tropical and related fare. Its great at what it does and their happy hour is solid. Nothing negative at all.

Not accommodating at all. Got to the restaurant 5 minutes before it opened and was denied a seat due to “reservations”. The place was a ghost town but me and my wife were told that we had a few minutes to eat before others who reserved our table were arriving. When asked about this, vague answers were thrown about as if we were ignorant. I informed her we were regulars, but obviously to no avail. There are so many options in NYC for people to eat, one would think they’d be more hospitable. No Worries, they’re permanently scratched off our list. I really wonder the real reason why we weren’t served....
Great place on 5th Ave where normally youd normally only find tourist traps. Excellent cocktails and food, very competent and polite staff, and I love the live music. The restaurant is spacious and tastefully decorated. Not as pricey as you would expect for the quality and location.
I was reluctant to eat at a restaurant owned and/or managed by a clothing store. One of the entrances to the restaurant is through the clothing store, which is odd. We decided to eat here based on the friendliness of the manager and staff. The decor is similar to their stores, but the environment is nice and relaxing. The bar area and soon the restaurant was full of young professionals who had just gotten of work. The food itself was over priced, overly complicated, and really just average. My wife ordered the lump crab soup and it had one piece of crab in it, was tiny, and was over priced.
We loved the ambience in this restaurant, the staff was really kind and the food was perfect. I had a hamburger and it was one of the best ones I had.
Tommy B is a nice upscale option for the corporate scene. Happy hour and lunch are solid options and very versatile. Where can you go in Manhattan and feel like you are in Florida. Love the scene. There is a need 1 more bathroom on the main floor Bar but if not just dont wait until the last moment. Receptionless approved for environment, food and drink selection. Love the scallop sliders, Yucca fries, and the chicken sandwich.
I always stop here whenever Im in town. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly without being pushy. Always a great selection of merchandise and you are often greeted with an offer of a complimentary cocktail while you shop. Overall a top shelf retail experience!
It was a great experience here. The service was prompt and our waiter was attentive and personable. The dishes were all reasonably priced and seemed interesting. The decor is great, it really makes you feel like youre somewhere warm, wonderful and tropical.I had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was perfect. The burger my mother had was great as well. I cant wait to make a trip back here again in warmer weather!

My husband and I had been to Tommy Bahama in Waikiki, Oauha, the Hawaiian islands and had a great time.We just had to go to this location to see it would be the same.We brought the kids and we really enjoyed it.My daughter was not sure what to order as she is a picky eater.. She loved what she ordered and requested we come back again.Loved the decor, Hawaiian look and feel.
They brought out the wrong burger and it was under cooked, they did not it off the bill. The crab bisque was average. Very nice restaurant but the food was over priced and not great.
Tommy Bahama clothing is great. I love many of the Styles .Unfortunately, the prices are not necessarily reflective the quality. I typically buy when there is a discount or able to use a gift certificate. For those of us over 40, the people in the store are more geared to the Millennium set. However their styles are unique and if one can get me on some of the pricing, products are fun to wear and worth the money
This is a great midtown spot for lunch whether it’s a business lunch or lunch with a friend/s. The vibrant energy is great the food is even greater. It’s all fresh and healthy while still being hearty and wholesome. The guacamole is a must as a sharing plate and all the flatbreads are equally good.
Food, service was lousy. Very loud, you couldnt hear yourself think. Our waitress Karen was very un-attentive, she came to our table a total of three times to ask if we wanted another drink, brought a drink and the check. Very disappointing experience, over rated. Do not recommend, expensive and not worth it.On the other hand the service at the store was excellent.
Kitschy concept but the food and drinks are very very good. Its very over the top tropical/hawaiian, like their merchandise, but it is also quality. I had the best virgin pina colada of my life and when Im nearby, Ill probably get one to walk around the city with. They have vegetarian/vegan options, lots of unique twists like flans and bread puddings with lime and pineapple. Good prices for NYC, two floors, accommodation for parties and large groups, responsive, and friendly, and prompt service even in very busy conditions. Surprisingly great experience.

My coworkers and I went for a quick lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by the food. We had the loaded tots and I had the Cuban sandwich. All of our lunches were good and the portions werent too crazy large. The service was excellent and we were in and out in under an hour. We will def be back soon.

Great food and very strong drinks. I highly recommend the coconut shrimp and a coconut cloud martini. A little pricey, place is small and it gets crowded quickly but still a great spot.

Excellent tropical drinks at the bar. Make sure to head up the spiral staircase to the restaurant bar upstairs for live music and more space.

This is a very high quality seafood restaurant with a plethora of options. The prices are amazingly reasonable when compared to the other American seafood restaurants of Midtown. The desserts and cocktails are also fantastic. The staff is very friendly. And the ambiance is just the right level of tropical and definitely does not take the concept too far.
