Brought my Volvo for Service and Smog Certification as a new customer and the experience was a friendly and timely one. In addition, the price was fair. Will return.

I originally went here because of how they list as “LGBTQ+ Friendly”. I thought that was kind. I’ve gone back because the staff are friendly and thorough. I do wish they would install parts you bring in, but they do get you the best parts at the best value anyway.

Yvener is Amazing ! He will never over charge you and he will not advise you to get parts you do not need. My 2005 Nissan Altima is still running because of him.

Just moved back to SR after a few decades away and went to Auto Specialist for a smog. Needed full service shop just in case Mini didnt pass. Smog service was reasonably priced, was done in record time and (whew) passed. Staff super friendly and service was top notch.

I had my rear brakes replaced. The brakes are now making noise that they had not before, which is a serious matter. Additionally, the emergency brake is out of adjustment now. After calling and speaking to a very trite woman the remedy is to spend $95 more and also pay to replace the drums, which Ive already paid to have them machined. When I called and spoke to them, and stated my concerns, they hung up on me. I think this business needs to learn about courtesy, professionalism, and guarantee their workmanship. Be very careful dealing with this business.Note: in lieu of the owners response here July 2021 to call them a year later for my complaintAfter calling them in July of 2021 at the owners recommendation here.They never called me back! Its a good place to go for auto repair

I have been bringing my cars to auto repair specialists for several years. I do a lot of work on my own vehicles and I really appreciate how knowledgable and honest they are. Their prices are very reasonable and they have always been upfront about the work required.

This people could not be more incompetent. Very disappointed from their overall all job. If you are looking for good mechanic you are not going to find it in this shop.

Took car in for oil change and ask for a look at my brakes. Diagnosis was for front rotors repair and they took care of it right away. The brakes are 100 percent better! Very happy with work and service. Recommend highly.

95$ to do nothing but tell me to change coolant reservoir cap. which they charged 35$ for but I bought it for 8$ at OReilly

Do not go to this place. They will not do simple courtesy discussing of issues for car issues before they charge. Only out to get your money.

After many years of such excellent service, words cannot express the level of service which Yves and Lindsey provide but I will try. I took my 1997 Ford Explorer XLT Limited to Auto Repair Specialist with electrical problems which the dealer said could not be repaired, as needed parts have been discontinued. The problems were making my truck go haywire- auto windows, headlights, sensors and gauges were all being affected and I even received a ticket in San Francisco for my headlights malfunctioning. Yves looked it over and theorized that he could solder some of the components back to functionality and he did it! THAT is UNHEARD of genius mechanical work and I am SO grateful! Additionally, Lindsey is simply one of the most courteous and professional office managers you will ever meet!Auto Repair Specialist is extremely well named! You can trust them to do excellent work and to provide excellent service!
