I went in there twice in the last month. Once for a P-trap pipe and the second time for a shower valve gasket kit. Both times the sales person was rude and tried to up sell me the pricier parts. I go there only because its close to my home. The rude service and high prices puts this place at the bottom of my list to go for hardware parts.

Went there on Sept 3rd to by paint that was on sale, the gentleman down stairs said it was no longer on sale, I went home and checked their add and it was on through the 3rd. Horrible service and uninformed employee.

A good place to find all you need to electrical, plumbing and miscellaneous home installation and repair.

This is a terrific place to shop. The staff is knowledgable and solicitous. Its the kind of small business that all of us should be supporting. Reasonable prices and good customer service. And, an amazing collection of items.

Every time I have shopped at this store I have been greeted upon walking in and asked what I needed. The employee would direct me to the product location or offer to show me. I have always found the product or tool I was looking for. This store lives up to the chains motto: The helpful hardware man.

Medium sized hardware store that is well organized and stocked, with helpful staff. Two floors, so is bigger than some. Id guess they have the tools and supplies for 90% of the projects the neighborhood does, including stuff to support remodel projects after youve trucked home sheetrock.

Super organized and super friendly! My favorite hardware now that Im living on Geary! One easy bus ride out. I even commented to one of the staff that -unlike other SF stores that try to essentially cram so much inventory into a small space this store keeps just what is needed around. Thanks

Very friendly and helpful staff at this location. And they have tons of stuff. Most any hardware, household items you might need are probably here even things like silver polish etc. I have also found that there price is better then Amazon much of the time.

This place is fantastic. It only look small from the outside store front but the place is long and has basement floor as well. Their customer services are excellent, not just only this location but their other stores as well. Pretty well run business, I enjoy coming here to buy my need.

I have developed a habit of going to the big box hardware store, even though it is always a pain to find someone to help you. Gonna try to break it.I only seem to go to Ace in an emergency. But the times i do go this local Ace has awesome customer service. Almost always some in front to answer a question.Today i was looking for mini glue sticks... went to two walgreens and a stationary store with no joy. Stationary store says try Ace. I call them up. The person who answers actually knows what a mini glue stick is and knows it is in stock. I am shocked since gluesticks are not your normal hardware item. I am in and out of there in the time it takes me to find parking at the big box store.

Needed help replacing thermocouple on our water heater. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. We asked for the wrong size at first, they took it back, gave us the right one and helpful tips. I found what I was looking for however the prices are a lot more than what I was expecting. I did end up buying what I was looking for because it wasnt like crunch. The customer service was good. However it wasnt an emergency I would have gone somewhere else only because of the pricing

For a small store, they have an incredible amount of inventory. Better, even, is that everyone in the store knows where each little item is. Once you go in, youll realize what an accomplishment that is. Prices are fair, and you dont need to go to Daly City for Home Depot.

There is good things, usually daily use of the tools and hardware need for the house, I went to buy lights bulbs but this one are discontinued in the market and I found it there..so happy

I like this place due its convenient location and the excellent customer service Ive always gotten here. A staff member has always helped me find the right product and/or explained how to carry out any DIY project Im trying to tackle. The painful part is their somewhat high prices (compared to huge stores), but the good points easily make up for it for me.

Customer service from the employees is pretty bad. All I wanted to do was buy a matching bolt. I came to store a little before closing, and guy at the front rather aggressively said were closed. I had to show the guy at the front my phone to prove to him that the store wasnt closed yet, and then he let me in. I figured everyone wanted to go home since that guy was acting mad at me for showing up, so I asked for assistance to get it done faster. The guy showed up, briefly berated me for even being in the store, helped me, and then berated me for asking for help. The woman at the counter was decent to me at least. Meanwhile, the owners still talking to another customer past when the stores closed, really helping him find what he needed.

This is my neighborhood go to hardware store for everything plumbing and electrical. The parking can be challenging especially on the weekends, but the selection and friendly, efficient staff make more than up for it. You may not find exotic fittings and custom pipes, but for the average homeowner who is attempting some homegrown DIY stuff around the house, you can’t go wrong with Standard!

Helpful but not many options, or a large inventory

Had the bolt I needed, but the workers wouldnt help me find what I needed, just pointed me to the bolts. And the finding and purchasing of single bolts is not very intuitive as you have to write down what you grabbed on a sheet of paper.
