I went to the store to find a very special dress for myself as Mother of the Bride.I found it, and they said they were going to order the dress in a smaller size. When the dress arrived I went to try it on and it was exactly the same dress that I tried on as the sample. Of course they swore it wasnt, but when I got home the tag on the back had the size cut off and was carefully sewn over to hide it. I was so disappointed to know a store would do this to me. Also, you sign paperwork so nothing can be returned which is awful. If I was you, I would think very carefully about doing any business with somebody like this. I just want to worn you in hopes it wont happen to anyone else.

I give this place ZERO stars (but in-order to post this message you need to add a star). By far the most unprofessional bridal store around. I purchased my dress back in April. I received a call the beginning of this month saying my dress was in. When I went there to try the dress on there was not only a big rip in it but the color was off as well as design. They convinced me it was the dress I purchased. After a week I got another call the dress is ready to pick up. I go into the store and have Flava help me out. I try the dress on to show the seamstress that the fix she did is all wrong and ruined that side of the dress. Rosa and Flava start to blame the manufacture. They tell me they cannot order me another dress because its Friday at 4pm. Then on Sunday at 5:30pm Rosa calls me asking when my wedding date is she is on the other line with the manufacture. (Weird they are closed on Friday but open on Sunday)... Then on Monday they tell me they cannot do anything until the owner comes back from vacation tomorrow. It is now mid September and my wedding in beginning of November.The next day I show up with my Grandmother to speak with him. The owner puts both dresses side by side. After looking at my dress in pictures and the dress they are saying I tried on, I realize they are somewhat same design but NOT THE SAME DRESS! These people tried to convince me I tried on a $1000 knock off dress compared to the thousands I spent. The owner looks at Flava and asks where my dress is and her response is that was a trunk show dress, its no longer here so we got her a dress that mimics that dress!!! WHAT KIND OF SICK PERSON DOES THIS TO SOMEONE A MONTH AND A HALF BEFORE HER WEDDING! I highly highly suggest going elsewhere! After this happened to me I asked around and have heard nothing but horror stories about his place. They sell you expensive dresses just to turn around and give you a knock off!

I want to start this off with the only reason they are getting two stars is because the stylist when I chose my dress did a good job in helping me find the dress but it goes down from there. I ordered a strapless gown and asked for elastic spaghetti straps, they said that they should be ordered in the same fabric color and I agreed so I placed that order along with my dress. I ordered the size they recommended as they said i was a perfect and would most likely only need to hem the dress. I was happy with this and ordered my dress. I was told I would be contacted within the week on an estimated date for arrival but it appeared to be the second week of June, a month before my wedding. I never received a call or response back from them even after reaching out multiple times. At this point it is a week before the dress was supposed to arrive according to their first estimate and asked me if I still wanted the dress and if I was still having my wedding. This came as a shock because I was assuming the dress would have already been sent. I told them yes and they sent it out to their store right away. They then informed me that the dress had arrived. I was set to attend my cousins dress appointment the weekend after arrival so I made an appointment and asked if the straps were there as well. They said they would check. When i arrived I was not helped with my gown and just put in a dressing room where the dress was. I put it on and it was about 2 inches too big on both sides of the gown so 4 inches total. I was extremely frustrated by this as I had just paid almost $2000 for a gown and would now have to pay for alterations because the dress was not ordered in my correct size. In addition I asked multiple times where the straps were (mind you I had asked a week prior when I made my appointment). They said they were looking for them and would get back to me. I took my dress and left at this point as I didn’t want to cause a scene. A week later still no word back about my straps. I called again at least a couple times and they were still “checking on them.” Finally they said they received them and would send them to me. This was frustrating because I would’ve liked even an update that they were being ordered or some explanation as to what happened. I received the straps and they were completely wrong but I did not have time to get the correct ones so I now had to wear my dress strapless which is not what I originally wanted. In addition when receiving my package my name was spelled completely wrong and I just appeared to me that this dress shop was careless. I DO NOT recommend getting your dress from here. There are so many great shops that will actually care about their clients and have decent communication. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else!

Ive been communicating on behalf of the bride who speaks limited English and is currently located in Tijuana, MX. When we ran into issues with not being able to pick up the dress due to the border closure but Rosa and Lonny put the brides mind at ease. They were so great explaining the current dress storage situation. They spoke so kindly about the bride and we so empathetic towards her situation, their customer service truly went above and beyond.

My consultant was Rosa, she was amazing!I told Rosa what kind of dress I had in mind and within minutes she got to work on finding my dream dress!10/10 would Recommend having her as your consultant not only was she kind she also said exactly what I needed to hear!There was also no pressure to buy immediately!

Cynthia was an absolutely amazing consultant! She listened to what I wanted and kept my English castle venue in mind. She helped me try on all types of dresses and made me feel special the whole time. At the end when I found my dress she explained to me how I could customize it and change it to make it uniquely mine but adding different sleeves, changing the color, and extending the train. She was so kind and made this the best experience I could possibly imagine! Xx

Cynthia was my consultant, and she was a dream to work with! So warm and friendly, and never made me feel rushed or like I was being annoying for wanting to try on ALL the dresses. She was AWESOME. While I didnt buy my dress there (decided to go with a different designer), she was just so sweet and accommodating that I wanted to write her a glowing review. I came here with my friend and her daughter to find her wedding dress. Great atmosphere and Angela was absolutely wonderful. She was very patient, knowledgeable,super nice, and made the whole experience a most enjoyable and memorable one. I would definitely recommend Brides of San Diego to any brides bridesmaids and mother of the brides to be and ask for Angela.

I recently went to store as my last resource, honestly I was a bit scared because I thought that their dresses would a be a bit pricey and I am on a tight budget (as many other brides are). Well I was not only surprised but very pleased to work with Angela, not only was she able to work with my budget, she was amazing to work with! She totally understood what I was looking for, she went above and beyond to make it happen. She is so friendly and made sure I was comfortable with every single item I tried on. I have my second appointment coming up and I am so excited to be able to work with her on my dream wedding dress.

Rosa was AMAZING. She honestly did feel like family by the time we left. She was low pressure and super helpful. We had grandma, mom and sisters there, so were quiet a crowd, and she gave us a ton of time and help! She made it a wonderful experience - AND we found a dress!

The ladies there are very helpful, and will work with your finances. Linda is such a sweetheart, and she makes you feel like you are her only client. I go back today to finalize the alteration on my wedding dress, since my wedding is about 3 weeks away.

The only thing good about my experience with Brides of San Diego was I found a beautiful dress at a decent price.Do NOT get your alterations done here. The main reasons I bought this dress in particular was because I felt comfortable in the dress and didn’t feel like I would have to starve myself to fit into it however after the failed alteration attempts on a size 12 dress and I’m a size 7-8 the dress became extremely uncomfortable and very tight causing me to change my eating habits to lose weight to try to fit into the dress which is completely ridiculous in my opinion and added stress that wasn’t needed.After three failed alteration attempts to fix my dress I finally pulled my dress 10 days before my wedding. When you are already extremely busy trying to pull together all the final touches for your wedding this is the last emergency you want. It took up so much time to try to first get Brides of San Diego to try to fix the dress and then to move it to another alteration shop to fix the dress. All together I had to make 7-8 alteration appointments to get the dress in wearable condition.Also, when I pulled the dress Brides of San Diego management seemed to understand why but the only thing they offered me was a refund on the alteration cost I paid. The alterations they did on my dress only devalued my dress and made it totally uncomfortable for me to wear so I would have expected more compensation. I also pointed out to management that it was going to cost me more to fix the dress and they still didn’t offer anything else.Overall, it cost me twice as much in alteration cost to get the dress fixed, lost time, stress, and having to change my eating habits to make my dress that should have worked with minimal alterations fit and look decent for my wedding. So again, buy your dress there if you want but take it with you as soon as you buy it to a seamstress that knows what they are doing so you can avoid all the issues and stress I went through.

I did not have the misfortune of purchasing a dress here, but I did accompany my best friend and her sister (who did have a horrible experience). She was promised the perfect dress with the perfect fit and all the bells and whistles. Sadly, her dress was delivered the night before her wedding at her hotel room. Floral lace was yet to be sown to her sleeves!!!! The seamstress promised the alternations would be done, but lied to her the entire time. My best friend finished sowing her sister in till early in the morning. We recently revisited the store because of their recent ownership change. Sadly, thats all it was; just change of ownership. No changes in staff, customer service, seamstress, or protocols. We were hoping for a different experience. As if they go by scripting, they promised my best friend the same things. Learning from her sisters experience, my best friend walked out of there without making a purchase. It is too much of a risk. Wedding planning is stressful as is and paying someone to add on to it is baffling. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

ASK FOR ROSA! She was simply amazing. I just found my DREAM dress today! She felt like a family member. I had been to two other places and both times they did not listen to what I wanted whatsoever. Rosa listened completely to what I wanted and didnt try to shove any other dresses on me that I already said I didnt want. It was by far the best and most amazing experience Ive ever had. This shop is severely underrated!! It should have a much better rating. Rosa found my dream dress we all cried immediately when I put it in. GO HERE FOR YOUR WEDDING DRESS!!! THANK YOU ROSA!!

They help us a lot, to my fiancé and I to find her dream dress! Linda, help me all the time with the purchase of this ESME gown from Demetrios, she really make everything easy, the purchase of the dress was by phone! We live on Texas and this dress it was just available on this store at San Diego, so I call her and she really move and make everything smooth. I purchase the dress and I received 3 day later at my house everything perfect! I wish I could know everyone by person from the store, but for now, thank you Linda for all your help.

What can I say about this place in one word? WOW... Angela helped me find my dress. She was the best. No joke most of the dresses were really expensive but that didnt stop her from helping. I told her some of my style interests and I gave her my budget. She was on it. She found me a dress I absolutely love for $500. What a steal! Im so impressed and she even gave me tips on DJ, Cake, and Floral companies. Honestly, I would give this place 10 stars if that was an option. I say if you are looking for a dress then you should start with Brides of San Diego first.

The purchasing experience of my wedding dresses was fantastic, great service; however I di not have a good service from the seamstress. I was told she was the best and since I moved out of San Diego by the time of the fittings I drove some times more than two hours just to make my appointments. I had to push her even the last day to correct the fitting (too much breast, loose, etc.) and it seemed that she did not work on them at all in some appointments. You have to know what you want and almost do her job on how the dress look well in your, I have a friend with me and she got the same impression, I have heavy dresses (strapless) and she did not make sure the dresses were adjusted enough to not show my bra, like she just wanted to be over with the job. Even with all the modification that I and my friend had to repeatedly ask for I still had trouble with the dresses. I was just thinking “imagine if she would have left it as she intended”. Buy the dress there if you love it but take it somewhere else for adjustments.

I made an appointment online which was easy. The store can be hard to find (it’s on the second floor) and parking was a huge problem. I checked in and waited a few minutes for my consultation person to be ready. She took me back, barely asked me any questions, and then said she wanted to go find her catalogues for me to look at instead of just showing me dresses in person. So I sat there alone in the store for over ten minutes waiting for her to come back. I finally walked back to the main counter where they were discussing another brides order. Apparently new costumers aren’t much of a priority here. I ended up walking out because I was so annoyed by the lack of respect for my time. I don’t care how nice your selection is, any bride deserves to be treated better. Not a positive experience at all.

They say one thing always goes wrong at your wedding. For me, it was my dress. Both straps broke, at separate and very inappropriate times. The first strap broke seconds before I was to walk down the aisle which delayed me, freaked my husband out, and I walked down the aisle with SAFETY PINS keeping me together. Second strap was DURING my Father-Daughter dance, my Father and I having to change the choreography of our dance we took lessons for, and the photos show my broken strap dangling.My consultant was great, my dress shopping experience was so fun, picked 8 bridesmaid dresses, all was well. A month later my bridesmaid dresses werent available in my selected color and I had to settle for a different color, no discount offered (still not happy). My dress was heavily beaded, I have a large bust, and because my dress had a low back everything was relying on two tiny straps for support. At my first fitting, the straps were so tight they were digging into my shoulders and armpit and turned me red and really hurt within a minute. With other alterations it was $450!!!!! Yikes!!! At Fitting #2: It was still kind of ill-fitting in the top...but then since we were going to add cups to the bustline everything was supposedly going to fit perfectly. At the final fitting I was still constantly adjusting my breasts inside the dress, but it was 5 days to showtime and still needed to be pressed so I decided Id strap them in with dress tape and hope for the best.The dress fit well for the first half hour I had it on. But as the dress was getting warmer, things started loosening up and despite having a D cup I was no longer filling out the dress and the straps were getting pushed to the limit, and ultimately gave way. Perhaps the straps should have been reinforced, widened, or if it was explained to me that as the dress warms up things will loosen it could have prevented TWO terrible experiences during my wedding.

Uninformal business ever. They dont care about you just want your money. YOUR DRESS WILL NOT BE READY ON TIME. Business is a two way transaction this people had a paid dress in march. Months past by August came and the dress still not ready...two weeks before the event.

Smaller than I expected. At first it was just our group, then a second bride came in and there was room for everyone. Then there were 4 brides at the same time and it felt very cramped and overwhelming.The store itself has a fantastic selection, staff were wonderful to work with.Finding the store was crazy. When you go... it’s up stairs. You’ll find the elevator next to Pick Up Stix. Parking is .. okay. Pretty typical for this area.

Good things: I found a great gently worn dress for $99Bad things: I found the dress via a post an employee shared on offerup. Went the next day to try it on/buy it. As I tried it on, I checked the tag and noticed it was marked at $99 rather than the $200 on offerup. When I went to checkout, the woman helping me tried to charge me the $200 rather than the marked price. I commented that the tag read $99 and she said “we’ll see what the computer says and it’ll be that price”. I then watched her manually adjust the price down to the $99, meaning she knew I had seen the offerup ad and was thinking I hadn’t noticed the marked price on the dress. It just all seemed super shady to me.I would say, if you are looking for a cheap dress, definitely go here. If you’re looking for the whole bridal experience, probably try somewhere else. I do love my dress and got it for a great price after all is said and done.

Rosa is simply amazing! After searching all over San Diego; La Jolla, Downtown, Everywhere...we were floored by the quality of gorgeous dresses as well as the wonderful service.I ordered my dress and can not wait to see the final results.

I would give this place NEGATIVE STARS if I could!ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!! my dress was altered incorrectly DAYS before my wedding and they wanted me to pay for their mistakes?! Oh hell to the no, no, no! The manager was no help at all...after messing up my dress they wanted me to pay for further alterations which was their mistake. One of the employs even tried to offer to fix it for $60 under the table, confirming to me that this place is unprofessional and borderline robbing women!Ladies, I highly recommend going somewhere else for your wedding gown and/or bridesmaids dress needs.

Terrible. Wish I could give you 0 stars. I ordered my dress SEVEN months EARLY. I paid for my dress, veil, and headpiece, and was told it would arrive in 3 months. 3 months passed, 4 months hit and I decided to be smart and call to see what the status was. THEY FORGOT TO ORDER MY DRESS. I got overlooked but did they apologize? No. Offer compensation or anything to SHOW that they actually care about the customer? No.They are expediting my order and said it will be here 2 weeks before my wedding, but Dont worry! Lots of brides wait until the last minute. I DID NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE!!! YOU DID, DEMETRIOS.Ive gone in the store, called (because they are giving me the run-around with who is taking care of me) and I finally got a call yesterday that its being even more expedited and will be here soon. Ill believe it when I see it. I paid a lot of money and my story isnt over yet. Ill update this post and a detailed Yelp review when Im done telling everyone I can about my nightmare experience.If I am not compensated for my alterations and cost of my gown Im going to make sure everyone knows about how shady they are in business practices. How beautiful my dress is means nothing after the management lost my order, lied about it, and is now trying to paint me out to be coo-coo for cocoa puffs.

By far the WORST experience ive ever had with a bridal shop. All bridesmaids ordered the our dresses. We were each fitted, and TOLD our measurements. The staff let us know the correct sizes for our measurements. When the dresses came, they were all way too small, like 4 sizes too small!! When we asked why they were too small when they were the ones who gave us the measurements and size, they began to beat around the bush and say we are not professional fashionistas, we are bridal consultants.On top of all that the dresses were supposed to be plum. All dress came back an ugly eggplant color. NEVER again. save your money please!

I didnt personally buy a dress there but from what I did experience was nothing but pleasant the employees are really helpful and it was pertty nice inside there. From the people that had a bad experience there Id say communication is key when dealing with such time sensitive and important issues.

What should have been a great and fun experience was NOT due to very poor MANAGEMENT and customer service. My daugter ordered her dress and veil in Nov 2015....the dress came in today June 23, 2016. Delivery was suppose to be in May!! NO VEIL and aleratations are still needed as of this date. The wedding is July 17th!! Most disappointing was the fact that we were told the dress was in last week, went to see it and it wasnt there! And there wasnt a phone call to inform us. We went in today to meet with the seamstress at our 4pm apt... she was an hour and a half late. Again, there was no phone call made to let us know. Planning a wedding is stressful enough without this type of service. If I provided this level of customer service to my clients, I would be out of business. I am truely disappointed

I speak fluent Spanish, and it seams to me that all the people working at the store are extremely unprofessional, I was there a few days ago with a friend trying to find her bridal dress, and we saw a customer been so mistreat by the people there when she was been fit, I can see the frustration on her eyes because the lady there was not listening to her. That lady keep saying bad things about her in Spanish to her coworker and turn around and say something to her in Spanish, and she got all emberresed when she find out I spoke Spanish. My friend and I left the store and for sure we wont be buying any dresses or recommend this place at all. Es una falta de respeto para las personas que compran un vestido de novia de en este lugar, les debería de dar vergüenza a las personas que trabajan aquí por la falta de atención al cliente, que falta de respeto se les da a los clientes en este lugar.
