Awesome place to sell items! The staff here are pretty awesome ladies. I have been selling for a few months and they never seem to disappoint. There have been times they havent bought as much and there have been times I have hit the jackpot. I typically do not write reviews but I saw the one written by Myrna B and it sounded like such a Karen move who cares that your clothes werent folded back all nice and neat. I have been on days where there entire back area is full with bins and bags Im pretty sure they do not have the time or man power to fold everything nice and neat. If you have sold here or shop here let people know how wonderful this team is!! 👏 Dont let the Karens be the only voice heard. Thank you to this wonderful staff for all your hard work and kindness

This is definitely a little gem of a store. The staff at this location is super friendly. When I called the employee who answered was very knowledgeable and explained the entire process of bringing items in to me. When I arrived Erica was very friendly and once again explained the entire process to me. The offer for the clothes as a little less than I had hoped- I guess I could have sold them myself to get the most bag for my buck. I took store credit bought a few amazing things and I will definitely be back.

Great experience today selling some items at this location. It was my first time ever selling to them and they were really busy today. I was not initially greeted when I entered but quickly realized it was because every staff member was helping someone else. I was eventually acknowledged and advised where to place my bags until someone could help me. The employee checking me in was very thorough on the policy and advised the wait was long and they did not give an estimate wait time due to staffing. Seems to be common everywhere right now-places are shortstaffed . I walked around for a bit and watched as they reviewed items. They looked at every piece and at times discussed items between each other. The wait was long but after 4 bags of items and $155 later Im happy I went. The staff was pleasant, the offer was more than I expected, I just wish the wait was a little shorter.

First time...live and learn...took in my clean and ironed cloths...they gave me a bid on two...ok...however gave me back my clothes all bundled up and wrinkled. When I pointed out to the girl the condition...she simply said, oh thats why we dont need the clothes folded or ironed. Best to sell to individuals..overall felt like they were looking down on me. Not a plesant experience. Never again 😒

First time visiting this store yesterday and I was impressed! The staff greets you when you walk in, the store was very clean and organized, and it didnt have a bad odor. They were having a memorial day sale so on top of the already great prices I spent $75 and got $15 off...what a steal!! I love shopping small businesses so I will definitely be back to shop and even try to sell some items. My friend recommended this place and she hit the nail on the head. Second time visiting this location to sell some items. I had an ok visit the first time but this visit was Great!The process was quick, the staff was friendly, and I purchased a few items at 50% off.They were not able to take my clothing I brought all winter items-should have called to see what they needed. They did sort out what I could bring back and it didnt take a long time for them to process it.This place has a lot of gems, the staff was helpful when needed, and Ill be back to sell my winter items.

My experience was with the process of selling clothing and shoes. I have done this twice and both times the process was explained in a very professional and easy to understand way. I felt I received great value for items that I was just going to donate. Next time I go back, I plan to do some shopping as the store is full of very tempting merchandise!

Attempted to sell some items at this location recently but they passed on all of my things. I was disappointed but they did refer to me a store and I did have success there. Thank you for the recommendation. The staff was very friendly, they processed my items quickly, (I waited and shopped) and the store was very organized. Overall the experience was very pleasant wish they would have bought something I left with more than I came in with because they have such great items.

Comparing this place and other places to other cities, the clothes recycling back in aren’t good/trendy/trending. San Antonio is the least stylish and trendy city in Texas out of all the big cities. Nice assumption, though.

WORST customer service! Extremely RUDE. Went in there to sell some items and while I was in the store the workers were making fun of items that someone else had brought in. I was never greeted while in the store or acknowledged until I said something to them. I had already had a bad experience at clothes mentor before at this specific location and decided to go back to give it another try, worst mistake.

They were pretty rude. But in a nonchalant way. Made me feel pretty embarrassed saying that you can’t bring it in a garbage bag. Just trying to be bougie for no reason. Didn’t accept any of my clothes because they were “juniors” she stated that women’s are the even sizes (2,4,6) and that’s what I had in the bag. Took none of my clothes and wasted my gas. I had shoes and purses and matching wallet and they took nothing. I don’t recommend.

Clean and very organized. Staff is an ok staff, helpful when they’re supposed to be. I just wish the security cameras weren’t so close to the fitting rooms— you can literally see the camera above of the fitting room which just makes it an uncomfortable experience. It would be cool if they had like special color price tags on certain days that would discount the clothing. I found it weird that there was a used, non brand sports bra for almost $15. I think for now, I’ll stick more to Plato’s Closet since it’s more modern to today’s clothing trends.

The ladies here are always friendly and extremely helpful. The selection at the location I feel is far better than the others in town. In a great location they even have a kids consignment store next door. And they have a awesome selection of plus size...Lane Bryant, Torrid, Ava &Viv up to size 26 I believe.

I have been selling since Covid and recently started shopping Clothes Mentor. I absolutely love the ladies that work here. I believe I have at this time met everyone and I have interacted with them all for both selling and shopping and they are an absolute pleasure. Things have changed for the buy process from time to time since I have been selling but the ladies are always accommodating and professional. The have always explained the new process or updated information very well and I appreciate that. The manager Shaye even calls me by name when I enter the store...she has quite the memory. If you are looking for a little cash this is the place to come. The process is very easy and typically quick. These girls have made my life easy over this time as I have slimmed down and gotten rid of items that no longer work for me and purchased new items that I just love. Thank you ladies for always being pleasant I look forward to my next visit

Took 3 reusable shopping bags to sell (per the guidelines) and received a fair offer for my things.I read this location took items based on style, condtion, age, and brand so I did call to ensure I was bringing in the correct items and brands. I also called because some the reviews were stating the ladies were Rude which was not the case at all. When I called the employee did state plenty of times how to bring the items in, what they were and were not taking, and advised of how the payout works etc. I was also told they may or may not take my items based on inventory needs and the needs of the customers-understandable. Ophie and Susan were very pleasant and very thorough in explaining the check in process and when I returned for my offer. I just wanted this owner to know I appreciate you being open during this time and for having two lovely women staffed during my visit. I will be back to sell and shop.

Not very customer friendly. Would not give cash refund within 7 days because I did not have the same credit card with me, and my wife paid with card. I’ve never seen a store claiming they are unable to refund in cash.

I went in to sell some items and see the inventory. My Louis Vuitton, YSL shoes, and Vintage Chanel skirt were not with in 2 years old. Ok. I was good with that. But I was not good with the customers service. I’m a customer, I walk in the store I’ve never been to. No one greets me, or looks at me. I have no idea where I’m supposed to go, what I’m supposed to do. I find a counter to do whatever it is I’m supposed to do. A machine was pointed out to me to give my personal info and I was asked for an ID. COME ON, look at me and explain the process. They take my items, I look around the store while waiting. I find 4 pair of pants ask if the dressing room is open. She says it is, but says there is a big line. Ok. I gave up. I received $1.66 for a pair of shoes. I won’t be back. Why would I?

Found both these items $25 🥰🥰 this wAs my first time entering this store and location. Staff was nice and friendly. Since it was my first time i didnt know how the store was laid out but also i went 45min till closing but was able to find something and they signed me up for rewards as well. I will be bacj 😉

I just had a super bad experience in this place, I brought in a small basket with a few items in it and I was told that they dont take those kind of baskets anymore, especially because they stop buying items at 4:00pm and it was 3:55pm. I was told that I needed to bring the items in a reusable bag. I said I can put the items inside of the big bag that I have and I was told no again. All I keep hearing was NO NO and NO not to mention the ATTITUDE.....WTH, someone definitely didnt want to do their job. I thought I was doing good supporting our local business especially in these pandemic times. They probably thought that selling this items was the only way I can shop in this store. Well they were wrong, I had spent a good amount of money before in this store and the one located on Blanco. I am sure today wouldnt have been different in terms of spending even if they wouldnt have purchased my items. My recommendation to the owner and manager and workers is to read the book Give them the pickle book because these people can definitely used it for a lesson to learn about customer service since they decided to have an attitude since the moment I had walked in to the store. One star is even too much to rate the customer service that I received in the store.

Just left this place. And I must say ....Rude, rude, rude service by the Manager Shaye ! Like lady really, I am not your kid nor am I a child to be talked to like that when all I did was walk in. Smdh. A customer should always be welcomed upon entering a store, especially by the manager. I truly miss the one by North Star mall. They could learn a lot from Platos closet. If this company doesn’t make changes and hire new individuals I’m sure it won’t last much longer here.Just WOW, this is no joke. Good thing I don’t buy used cause I dang sure wouldn’t give this place any of my lovely hard earned coins!

I had stop by today to drop off my clothes and the lady that was assisting me was very rude pretty much threw my ID back at me and I had asked how long until I have to come back she didn’t tell me they’re very unorganized they don’t have anything in their system they don’t let the clients know like how long it will be and I just find that unprofessional and I don’t know if she was a manager but she was very rude and very unprofessional I will never drop my clothes off here ever again!

I had a very bad experience with this location. I tried to sell my items to them. I verified my correct information and did not get a call or text when I was supposed to. I assumed they were backed up and gave them more time. By the 3rd day, I gave them a call to check on the status of my buy and they had contacted the wrong number!!! I confirmed the correct number so Im not sure why they didnt call it text me to the correct number. They gave away all the stuff I was trying to sell. I used my nice totes bags and they gave away those too!! I wanted my items back because I really needed the money. On top of that, they told me they passed on all my items!! The ladies who I talk to blamed me for not calling them by the time they told me. They didnt even sound sympathetic. Im never going to purchase or resale to this company again.

Absolutely loved my first visit to Clothes Mentor! The sales associates were helpful and informative! I found 2 dresses & some cute wedges for $25. Was happy with the whole experience 🙂

Clothes Mentor was a pleasant experience. We walked in, checked right in and handing over my bin of clothes to Susan. I waited in the store and were ready in about 5-10 minutes. She was very nice and explained the process of how they will sell my clothes and advised us to go to other locations to try and sell them their as they were not needed what I had at the moment. Thank you again. This was my first experience.

Just went today for their event and the staff was super rude. I get that you’re busy, but we were being friendly and had never attended one of these events before. The attitude we received for apparently not understanding what ticket we needed was not okay. We waited in line for 45 minutes, because they only have two registers, which I understand due to the event, but the rudeness of the woman at the register. Never going back again.

Really frustrating! All of my clothes are regularly dry cleaned and DO NOT have dog hair. Lots of nice work clothes. However. They passed on four bags of great clothes due to “pet dander”. If that’s the policy that is fine but it is frustrating.

I sold at this location on May 12th, and arrived about 10 minutes after opening time. When I checked in, the kiosk said I was second in line and that the estimated wait time would be 25-35 minutes. Given that, I selected to wait in store. After browsing the store for about 15 minutes I noticed that no one had began to go through my items. I waited for an hour at which time I asked a sales associate how much longer the wait would be, to which she coldly responded 30 more minutes. By this point, the kiosk was showing that my buy was the only one “in line.” As a sales associate at a resale store with almost the exact same process myself, I find this to be very inconsiderate. Priority should be given to those waiting in store, and if an extended wait time is necessary, the customer should be notified. I was also a little off putting to see my items being tossed around behind the counter when they were finally seen to. In all, I received an offer after an hour and a half.

Terrible! Went to sell just 4 pretty nice handbags. The employees there were not friendly and were almost annoyed by me being there. I wanted to wait for the transaction but they told me that it was a 2 hour wait so I left. After literally 20 min..I received a text that my purchase was ready. Couldnt go back because I live 30 minutes away. I went back the next day at 1:30 and the lady tells me that she was almost going to take my handbags as donation because it was supposed to be a same day transaction 🤨. And no! The offer was not good. I loved the location at South Park mall area..those ladies were always great..they would tell us their specials and always greeted with a smile. So sad that it closed. Will not go back to this location!!

Selling with Shaye and all the employees at this location has been amazing. They are fair with pricing and have quick turn around. I will definitely be back!

The staff is pretty nice. Way nicer and more professional than other resale shops Ive been to. So I will give them credit for that. Im just so confused about what they will and wont take for resale. I took in an almost brand new looking pair of authentic RayBan wayfarers and a nice, very well taken care of Coach satchel that was a lot nicer than some of the purses I saw on display in store. I took in some clothes too (LulaRoe, Banana Republic, Guess, F21, etc.) which I realize can be hit or miss, but they didnt make an offer on anything. Oh well.

Absolutely love this place. The ladies here are so amazing and helpful. Shay does amazing facebook live videos to show new items that are constantly coming in and everything is so affordable. She is amazing! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

This place is filled with very RUDE employees. No one greets customers as they walk in. They dont acknowledge you even when they have made eye contact with you. They stay in the back and chat amongst themselves. It’s a resale shop not some big time agency. When they do finally help you there’s a sense of entitlement as they speak down to you. Did this as a favor for my daughter to bring clothes to this place. Not ever again. Keep your rude behavior and management teach your employees customer service etiquette

What an amazing store! Im been coming here for years! Very fair on the buys when you sell items and great selection to choose from. Have found some amazing pieces to add to my wardrobe. The staff is great! Shaye recently started doing live shows on Facebook (at least I think its recent) and what fun!! We get first dibs on some fabulous8 items and have fun doing it. Cant say enough. You need to go!!

After reading some of the reviews about selling I decided to shop the store first before bringing in my items. I visited the store twice before selling and both times experience was pretty similar. I am a huge consignment fan I really enjoy finding amazing deals on great brands and selling my gently used items for a few extra dollars. I was hoping that the reviews that were negative were individuals who were just upset because their items werent purchased....AND YES THAT SEEMS TO BE THE CASE.1. This staff is super friendly. Both visits I was there well over an hour and they spoke to every customer, greeted people as they came in, checked on most customers more than once (except one visit I assumed it was because the buys were heavy), and they all were just nice individuals. One employee Shaye seemed to know a lot of the customers and even hugged a few.2. I listened to their check in process and asked a lot of questions myself. They made it very clear how they wanted the items brought in, how long the wait could be, & what happened if you didnt return. Im not sure if people realize this but they do not have to buy the items you bring in. I am under the impression the people upset because they didnt buy anything is because they REALLY needed money and assumed this place took anything and everything. They clearly explain to the individuals why they passed which is nice...i mean I have been to places where they say absolutely nothing...BE HAPPY they tell you why!!3. Wait times are long however people bring in multiple bags on one visit I saw 10 bags for one lady. Unless these ladies are magicians and can magically pick the best items in under 10 mins ...we need to learn patience and wait. They look at everything you bring in....half the items I saw them touch I wouldnt have!!4. The pay for my items I brought in after realizing these bad reviews were bogus was pretty great! All in all this is a lovely store. Great staff and Great Prices!

Clothes Mentor Culebra Commons is my favorite store to not only shop for items but sell back clothes. All the staff is amazing and offers are great. I reccomend anyone to this store. Thank you!!!!

Always love this place. They are so nice and helpful, and really do want you to find something that makes you feel good to wear.

They only bought two of my items and offered me less than $3. So it was fine. But I did like the selection of maternity clothes! Ill probably be back to shop and not to sell.

Sell here all the time, they only buy the best. Love that what I leave goes to donate for a good cause.

Pretty good clothes but very rude customer service. The lady attending did not seem to want to help us out at all. It seemed like we were a burden to her. I believe her name was Casandra. Im not sure if she was just having a bad day but her customer service was terrible. It really made me not want to go back. Hope you all have better luck with their customer service.

Worst experience selling my clothes. I brought 3 large bags FILLED with clothes, shoes etc. When I came back after an hour and a half wait, they told me they couldnt accept ANY of my items because they were all junior styles. I have shopped here many, many times before, and Ive seen Rue21, Forever 21, H&M brand clothing, and a lot of my clothes were from the same brands. I agree that some clothing may be really junior style, but most of them were casual and I can really see adults wearing them as well. But they sent me back with my 3 bags filled up, and told me I should take that to Platos Closet. Very, very disappointed. Never coming back again.

Im very disapointed i didnt listen to the reviews. I first looked around to get an idea of what they were selling and then brought in new to like new items. Brands like Talbots, Rachael Roy, Jcrew, Express, Bcbg, Liz Claiborne ect. They not only nit picked about small slight wrinkles but also added that they dont take colored dress pants (ankle cut gorgeous red talbot slacks) very on trend, but added they dont except wrap tops (silk bcbg top) just put the work in yourself. I made $60 selling a pair of slightly used tory Burch flats online. These places are not meant for anyone with real style.

Way overpriced! A different location sold a brand new Lularoe Ana for $10, which retails for like $60. this place tried to sell the lularoe cassie skirt at retail for $35. I thought this was a second hand place. Why would I come here to buy things at their full price?

They have great items and they are well cared for.

The staff is very kind however I went to resale my items and out of all those stacks they only bought 3 or 4 items. She said the reason why they didnt buy the rest of the items because it was not store brand or because clothing is not up to date. And the clothing they sale is very expensive although it is reused clothings. Also they do not give no tax forms for donations if your donating clothing.
