We moved from Minnesota to Florida this summer. Originally we were going to go it ourselves, box, pack into a rental truck, drive it down, unpack the truck, etc. With COVID we decided finding laborers might be difficult, so we looked to hire someone. We checked around and decided on Mayflower/Metcalf. They were competitively priced, and the name was reputable. We couldnt be happier with our choice. We still boxed 90% of the stuff ourselves, which worked great and saved us money. Metcalf even gave us free boxes to help us. The truck load was on-time and transport and unload also went perfect. Wed heard nightmares of lost possessions, damage, etc. In our case it was nearly perfect. From Pat at Metcalf, to our drive Heath, to all the other helpers, we couldnt have been happier.

My employer contracted with Metcalf Moving & Storage and I had a great experience with them. The movers were quick, courteous, and careful with all of my belongings. They packed, moved, and delivered all items within 48hrs! I did not have to deal with much paperwork as my employer managed that, but I was very happy with all other aspects of the move. Would recommend them!

I moved about two weeks ago and I am so glad I used this company. They were very professional, on time and very fast. Circumstances were difficult due to the hot weather and all the street work going on in downtown Rochester. I highly recommend them.

We couldnt be more disappointed. Ive moved across the ocen and across the states so this is not my first experience which I mention so that it is clear I am aware of what to expect with large cross country relocations. Not only was our delivery late (weeks beyond the quote), but they had to deliver in two separate shipments because they apparently did not estimate correctly and did not have enough room on the original truck as plan. As a result, our items were sent by courier truck to the local warehouse here. Our furniture was damaged beyond repair - parts to our sons bed, lost; our bed frame, broken in HALF; our desk, drawer completely ripped off. This isnt damage but NEGLIEGENCE. Im not complaining over some dings and scratches. This is full on damage which was an additional cost on top of the amount we had to spend to purchase items to use while our shipment was delayed for weeks. Additionally, the weight estimate they provided was 1,000 pounds SHORT! How can you be that off? More money we had to spend....To make matters worse, we have tried for months to file a claim. The site never works so we have placed calls and left messages with no response. We have finally given up. The amount this move cost us has been a significant financial burden. This company is truly terrible, unprofessional and they clearly have no regard to the impact they can have on a family. Save yourself the heartache and dont use them or Mayflower which they are contracted with. Maybe if this had been paid for by my employer, I wouldve received a better experience.

Recently moved from Memphis to Rochester. We had bought a brand new iRobot Roomba machine just before we moved. When we opened the box, there are one bottle of orange juice and 3 bottle of water. The robot was missing. Apparently someone stole the robot and deliberately put bottles with similar weight to deceive us. Besides the robot, the bed frame was totally damaged. We contacted the moving company. They initially agreed to compensate. Then they reneged by saying we did not check off each box during delivery. I have to say it is terrible to have some thieves in the workforce, and even worse to refuse to compensate their customer. We are considering filing complaints to federal agencies. Very bad experience.

Where do I begin? From the start, the company failed to disclose that your items are packed with other peoples and stored in a warehouse, then re-packed to go out on a different truck to you. 2 dining chairs and a table were lost in the process. The two men in Florida who arrived took nearly 10 hours to pack up one bedroom, a living room, and a kitchen. They spit in every trash can, sink, and toilet. They were calling my roommate baby mama and throwing furniture and belongings around without a care. They packed things that were clearly labeled DO NOT PACK. They packed spoiled loaf of bread, half opened food, and liquids like laundry soap and open balsamic vinegar which were subsequently all over everything ok arrival. They refused to take things out such as the computer chair they were not supposed to pack. Every piece of furniture was damaged upon arrival. There was black ink on the bench, a large gouge in the coffee table, missing other furniture, and completely destroyed my vanity and fabric furniture, and even my bicycle was turned in such a way that they refused to turn back and adjust. Lights were broken off of it as well as obscure knobs unscrewed off of drawers. The adjuster who came gave me trouble about every single piece, despite that Greg, Pat, and Lisa had claimed they were going to have me compensated for everything that was damaged as my move was so incredibly bad apparently even for them. I had to wait months storing this damaged furniture and call and email repeatedly to even get the adjuster to come out. I would have in retrospect rented a truck and had the move done myself. This was by far the worst moving company that I have ever used. It almost seems like a huge scam that they are charging mayo lots of money and then the insurance company pays off the person who is moved so that the moving company pockets the cash and is out nothing. Further, the customers dont feel they can complain because it is being paid for by their employer. Well, you can complain to your employer if they have damaged nearly $10,000 worth of fine furniture, all pottery barn, Ethan Allan, etc. worst ever. Dont use this company! I will never use it again.

Supposed to come at 11 am. Havent shown up until 2:30. No updates. When we call to find out they act irritated and cant tell us when they will come. Taken a day off and just waiting around for them to arrive. Messed up our whole schedule. Horrible service! Very unprofessional.
