We absolutely love Evans hairstyling college! It’s such a clean, friendly environment! The instructors are awesome and always make sure everything is done to standards. My sister and I took our girls for manicures Saturday and Nya Poole was amazing! She was very patient with the little girls, made their experience fun, and gave them the cutest nails! When they asked for pandas, and softballs to be put on their nails she did it with the biggest smile and did such a great job!

I am writing this review on behalf of a friend whose hair was ruined because of negligence. She went in and asked to get a perm. I wish she had discussed this with me before going here. She had previously had her hair bleached 6 months prior. They did NOT do a test strand and didnt even mention a test strand. This is horrible in and of itself, but they then proceeded with the perm. She now has a chemical cut and her hair is so damaged it feels like a sponge and is streachy. This was on July 23rd a Friday. Both instructors who were on the floor that day should be talked to. While yes the student should know and understand the process, she is learning and my friend said it was her first perm. I would like to further discuss the situation with either the instructors or the owner as this could have and should have been avoided if the proper steps were taken.

Hailey also let me know the original nail polish was not going on well and asked if I wanted to pick a better one, which I did. She also made sure the pressure was great on the scalp treatment.

Mikayla Fuji is the best person there to have work done from. She is professional and especially great with kids! She made conversation with me the entire time rather than just sitting there in silence awkwardly. Lanaiya F is definitely the second best there if you need multiple appointments!

Hard to get into. It used to be u could walk in and get a haircut not anymore. And when you do it takes 2 hours to get a haircut.

Great place to get your hair cut. I usually go about every month. Hair cuts for $5 is a great price. You don’t need to worry that you will have a hair cut you don’t like because there are instructors who check to make sure your cut is how you want it. I have been going here for a while and have only had great experiences.

The students at Evans do a great job! I got a haircut from Elisabeth a couple weeks ago and a pedicure with Annika today and loved it! Both were really sweet and careful to make sure things looked the way I wanted. The prices are great and instructors check that all jobs are done correctly. When I went in I looked like Shaggy from Scooby Doo, then I got a haircut from Hailey Galbraith. Now I feel like I can show my face again.

Not only cheap, but super-friendly and yes, they know how to cut your hair. Next month these same people will be cutting your hair at the expensive salon. Get their service now, for so cheap. Why go anywhere else?

I like them and I will go back To do other things but not get my hair done. I liked how my hair turned out I just didn’t expect it to take so long. It was actually my birthday and I expected my hair color to take 3-4 hours but instead it took 6!!! The girl even told me she was taking her time because she wanted her hours :/ this was frustrating to me. 6 solid hours and they charged me 90 dollars. My hair isn’t that long either. I probably won’t be getting my hair colored there again I’m just super upset.

This was an excellent place, the girl who cut my hair did a phenomenal job. This haircut is probably one of the top three that Ive ever had. Good cut for a good price ($6)

This place is amazing! I wish there was an Evans Hairstyle College where Im at now! I used them for the entire 5-6 years I lived in Idaho. During that tune I went through various haircuts. Long and wispy. Bob cut. Long and wispy. Another Bob cut. A pixie cut. They always listened to what I wanted and did a fabulous job delivering.Though these gals are students, the instructor comes and listens to three customers desires haircut, ask the student how he/she would do it, then verbally adds on or corrects the students ideas.The student then proceeds to wash, shampoo and cut your hair. At the end the same instructor returns to check and correct any errors.Ive only had to go back once and point out a problem and they were quick to fix it free of charge.I love and miss their customer service and care.

I love going to Evans. Yes, they are students, and that means they sometimes take a long time, but plan ahead! I think the owners are a great family and are always kind and friendly when I go in. They always make sure I am satisfied with the work they have done. When I have discovered a problem after going home I can come back and they will make it right. I definitely would recommend them.

I love the affordable and quality work Evans provides. It is great to have a place to have a girls day full service with my daughter that doesnt break the bank. Having actually been a student at Evans Hairstyling College I know the instructors, and how the school is run. The Evans family are great people and do a very good job of preparing students for the work environment after school. I loved how the Evans are hands on with every single one of their students, you really get good one on one time. Its sad you have people posting bad reviews for such a great place because a friend, girlfriend, wife, husband, etc. didnt do the work to get good grades and lost a scholarship, or because they had to stay after school in order to clean up their station, or they were not following rules and have to meet with Mr. Evans. Guess what when you are in the salon you have to work or you dont get paid. You dont get to leave until work is cleaned up. You have to meet with your boss when you arent performing. Welcome to life! Evans is an amazing school that gives a top notch education and experience. I appreciate every day my time learning at Evans Hairstyling College. Dont listen to others go in and talk to Mr. Evans, April Evans, or Ryan Evans. See for yourself what Evans is like and how awesome it really is.

I took my mother to get pedicures for her birthday, and it was a wonderful experience! The girls were very kind and happy. They did great too! The messages were fantastic and we both LOVED our nails after they finished them. I definitely recommend this place if your looking for good quality pedicures at a decent price. :) I will be going back soon!

I love Evans Hairstyling! They are the only ones I trust to color my hair. After ruining my hair yeas ago I went to several salons to get it fixed, but it just made it worse. Finally went to the school and they fixed it so well! Love this place! The instructors are very on top of things and they are amazing. Highly recommended!

Dont get me wrong, my student stylist was very talented and so kind! And my dye job turned out pretty, but it was NOT even close to what I had asked for. I was upset because it was an instructor that came over to listen to what I wanted, then turned around and told the student to do something completely different in order to teach her a new technique. I just feel that is unfair to the customer.

I really wish they would do the end evaluation without the student standing there . I have always had really good service @ Evans but this time the student that did my pedicure was not the greatest. She cut my nails so short that 2 of them started to bleed and then she filed them on top it. I didnt feel comfortable complaining in front of the student, I just feel bad doing that. I did talk with Mr. Evans and he was really nice. This one bad experience will not keep me from going there because there are so many other great students! Just wish they would do the evaluation differently.

I was going to give Evans 4 stars, but realized I have nothing negative to say about it. It is an upbeat place that provides fast, friendly service. A basic haircut, given by students and supervised by professionals is $6. In a good location at the west edge of Rexburg, it is easy to spot from the street. Call ahead if you can. They are not open all day, every day. Some few times they are closed for instruction.

Ive loved being able to attend school in an environment where the instructors are kind enough to tell each student and patron to drive safely and have a good night. A place where if something personal has come up they understand and try to the best of their ability to help in any way they may to better the situation for everyone. Ive loved belonging to a school that o got the opportunity to see people come in and leave happier than when they came. Ive loved going to a school where if youve asked a question everyone in the door, but you might know the answer to, but you still dont understand you arent looked down upon for not knowing.

Ive used Evans exclusively while Ive lived in Rexburg (going on 5 years now). Ive had expensive haircuts before, but honestly after consistently getting good haircuts here for $5-$6 (a reasonable increase in price), I have a hard time shelling out more elsewhere. I understand the fear others have about having someone who is learning cut their hair, but I have never had a bad experience, and as is a common theme through the rest of these reviews, an instructor checks you out at the end anyway! Fantastic service, unbeatable prices, and friendly staff get 5 stars all day long from me.

The girl who did my hair did awesome! She took her time, asked questions to make sure she was doing it right, and was friendly. Not exactly what I asked for but I liked it regardless. The reason Im not giving it 5 stars is because the teacher/owner (not sure what his position is) was very rude to the students and clients. I have hard time supporting a school that lacks human decency in its leadership.Also, not a big deal but I have a sulfate allergy (very common allergy) and he told me that if I wanted to use sulfate free shampoo Id have to buy my own off the shelf. Again its not a big deal. But it shows how little the owner cares about clients. Not sure how a salon doesnt offer any sulfate free products on the floor.

Ive been going to Evans Hairstyling College for years and have had nothing but great experiences. The prices are great to be able to get my family of six all dolled up. I go in every few months and change up my hair color and cut. My highlights and color has always come out with the expectations I have. The cuts for my whole family, 3 girls and 3 boys are always well done and the staff is very good at checking and our cuts. I have noticed how the Evans and the staff are very informative to their students as they explain how to do a procedure and how to be more detailed and precise in their education and completion of a service. My daughters and I go in pretty regularly for manicures and pedicures and it is a very inexpensive way to enjoy time being girly! I enjoy getting to know the girls and they are always so friendly and professional, Im sure it is because the Evans teach them how to be quality cosmetologists and professional. I will continue to recommend Evans Hairstyling College to friends who are looking for affordable, quality hair care. Also I have referred student to Evans and they have always had a good experience with lasting relationships with the other students and the Evans. Evans Hairstyling College and Mr. and Mrs. Evans are GREAT!!!

I love going to Evans, the prices are great and they have good service. They are students so it does usually take a long time but if you don’t rush them they do a good job. I will say you have to voice your opinion and be firm in what you want. If you don’t like how something is the. Tell them or three won’t know to fix it.

Ive gone to Evans for ten years. I have really only had one bad experience there. But, they were professional and addressed the issue well. The staff is quite patient and friendly. I like that they take walk-ins. Also, for myself and my kids I am glad to know that there are multiple people watching out to make sure nothing goes wrong with the cutting and coloring. The best thing by far, though, is being able to get pampered without breaking the budget. They offer so many services, I am still planning on trying a lot more of what they offer. Also, I love that they have broad salon product knowledge and techniques...if you go to Paul Mitchell they seem to have much less knowledge about different techniques and I feel the cuts and colors just arent great especially when the prices are higher. I dont live in Rexburg, anymore, but its still worth the drive to me to go there.

Ive been to Evans about 6 times now, and I leave EVERY TIME with a smile on my face. They manage to give me exactly what I ask for, and make it look really nice. Plus, the people there are some of the nicest and most friendly. I feel like Im best friends with the hair stylist after the appointment is over. Id recommend Evans to anyone and everyone. Not to mention, the prices are hard to beat! Yes, it is a school, so they are there to learn. But I can guarantee that they are ready to cut your hair by the time they have scissors in their hands.

Very awesome and great place to go.Maybe Katherine needs to remember that these girls are brand new and very nervous and trying to make conversation like they are supposed to. If Katherine wasnt happy with the treatment she should have told the instructors at the end when they asked her how she liked the service.I give it this place an A++ :)We spent a whole girls day there and got the works! I have been coming here for haircuts for over a year. I have not been able to find a less expensive place to get a haircut. The students cut your hair, then an instructor looks over it and makes any fixes/changes. You give the students a chance to practice, you pay a low price, and I have always been very happy with the haircuts. I’m not sure about their women’s haircuts, but I can definitely speak for men’s.

Evans Hairstyling College is wonderful. The owners and the teachers are so kind and helpful to the students. They always make sure that the student feels comfortable with the service BEFORE they get started. This is a real comfort as they are learning. The services are salon quality and are super affordable. It is nice too because they have great deals on professional products you can buy. I would recommend Evans to anyone living in the Rexburg area. It is a wonderful school and their services are great.

The school/salon owner rejected a Muslim women who wanted a haircut because she asked for her hair not to be seen by a man. I feel it would have been easy for them to accommodate her as they had female teachers and students and private rooms that were clearly seen. Disappointed to say the least. Discrimination of any kind is not acceptable.

I got a pedicure and it was amazing. The foot massage was the best part. And it’s reasonably priced so you don’t havto pay an arm and a leg to get a great pedicure

I never end up getting exactly what I want here. The prices are great, but each time I come for a haircut I end up a little disappointed. They are students, and Im not the best at explaining what I want, so its a little bit of fault on both sides. Ive had a manicure and a pedicure here as well, and the pedicure was disappointing for what I paid for it. Spend a few more dollars and go somewhere where they know what theyre doing, and have nice massage chairs.

It only cost $5 for a mens cut and shampoo/conditioner. Didnt have to wait more than 5min to get in a chair and am happy with the results. Its great Would recommend to others Especially GUYS LOOKING TO GET A GOOD CUT CHEEP!

A good place for a cheap haircut that you aren’t too concerned about. Obviously, it’s a hairstyling school, so mistakes are a real possibility, however the instructors do a good job at quality control and resolving any issues. Overall, a good place to get a decent haircut.

For the price, you cant beat it! I come here every time I need a haircut and they dont disappoint. It can be hit or miss once in a blue moon, but theyre learning and have great instructors.Jordyn has cut my hair 2 or 3 times now and nails it perfect every time! A good haircut back home would be about $12-$16. At Evans its only $6. Im always so happy with my haircut I dont mind making up the difference with a good tip.
