This place does so much for the community on top of being a great bike shop that it should be your first stop for all biking needs. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, & helpful. I highly recommend buying one of their memberships - the various tiers come with different perks, but they all help fund programs like giving bikes to low-income individuals so they can commute to work. Whether you want to learn how to build a bike from the frame up or just pick up a helmet, this is the place.

Shay (sorry if thats misspelled) was absolutely wonderful!I called this place for the first time (was calling bike shops around Reno) this morning, and she was nice & informative.I was able to bring my kids bikes in same day, and have them assembled & looked over same day!She was kind & helpful during drop off & processing the payment at pick up.Not one, but two of the male employees had no acknowledgement to myself & a relative when we walked in, didnt say hi, nothing, no degree of customer service.Shay, and their prices were absolutely great! Will return in the future for any necessary business, but I highly & kindly suggest reminding the rest of your employees what Customer Service is. =)

Made an appointment for Saturday at 10:30. Got about 4 reminders about the appointment. They even sent me a text to confirm it. When we put it into google maps it said it may be closed. We typed it into google and it said it opens Tuesday at 10 am. We called to just to make sure and it was closed. Poor communication with potential customers. Would have loved to support local.

The people that work here are always incredibly rude. They act as though they are the only humans alive who know how to work on a bike. Ever time i come in here they treat me lile this. In fact I just caught the employees pointing at me and laughing to themselves about god knows what. I would not recommend this shop to anybody spend your money where you will be respected

What these friendly helpful mechanics do is awesome. I highly recommend donating your bicycle here; it will go to good use for a good cause. They sponsor events and raise funds to help those who cant easily obtain 2 wheel transport; defunct forgotten bikes are retooled, renewed, and reconditioned to ride again rather than being added to some giant landfill. Please check them out....

Rented a bike and returned it, was charged the $40 for the bike. The $500 security hold on the bike was not refunded to my account until I called my bank to dispute the charge two days later. Seems a bit ridiculous to me to have to charge 500 dollars to ensure a return on the bike. Maybe you should buy some insurance for your bikes instead, especially when you already have my card on file. Definitely will rent from somewhere else next time.

I just got my tax return and wanted a mountain bike with one of those kids bike like trailers so i can help my granddaughter learn to balance. But when i entered i was ignored for more then ten minutes then when i was trying explain what i wanted i was cut off and was told i could not be helped. I didnt even get to finish my question. And the sad thing is it was the owner not some employee. Such a shame i had 800 to spend. A lot for me but not enough for the owner. I will find another local bike shop to spend my money.

I brought my wifes bike into a local bike shop and the guy looked at it a laughed, said his minimum was $75 for a tune up plus parts. To his credit he recommenced the Reno Bike Project.. I brought the bike in and the next thing I knew I am in the back of the shop fixing her bile under the guidance of a very knowledgeable bike mechanic. I am not exactly handy, to say the least, but after an hour shared with 4 other people fixing there own bikes I walked out of there with a finely tuned bike, a little grease under my fingernails and some valuable knowledge on how to fix a bike at a fraction of the cost quoted by the bike repair shop. When I asked them how much I owed, I could not believe it was so low. Less than $10 The guy said you can always make a donation? I gladly did..Great experience, give them a shot.

Mike stopped what he was doing and greeted me when I walked in. He asked if I wanted to use their public space to work on my bike or if I wanted him to fix it. I asked him to fix it for me. He adjusted the cables and the brakes and gave me advice I needed. All for $10.I was intimidated at first because of the neighborhood it was in and I am a novice rider and know next to nothing about bikes. I would not hesitate to go there again. Thank you Mike!

I went in just to get a bike tire that popped replaced. A guy ther explained everything really well, replaced the tube with a high quality one, and put in two strips in both tires of this really hard plastic to keep anything from puncturing. He also adjusted my seat and explained why it would be better that way. So far have had 0 problems with my bike, and I actually go faster easier with my new seat adjustment.

Go to the Reno Bike Project - They are really helpful, honest and the price is more than fair. This is a very unusual bike shop. Kind of hippy-ish, but very nice people, friendly, not snobby. The fact you can come in and use their extensive tools and truing stands for a very nominal fee is a great idea and long overdue. Be sure to donate something while you are there to keep this going.

W-O-W!!!!! These guys rock - local bike shops are snooty, wont let me watch what they are doing so I can do it myself -- these guys have a shop full of used bikes and strange people - all WONDERFUL - from the used bike that was $600 on Craigs list here, -- $100 there.Got a bike unlike what I wanted because it was BETTER than the one I THOUGHT I wanted - have done the Pacific-Atlantic and back run twice, TansCan once, CaLif-Oregon coast and back through the Eastern slopes of the cascades-Sierra a couple of times - BUT THAT WAS 30 YEARS AGO!!! -- Now I need a bike, and these guys let me browse and ride -- then helped me put it together the way it needed to be for my use.Staff all pretty friendly, as was EVERYONE there, from customers to hanger-outs. From the toothless old hippie guy to the stark raving Nuke the Mid-East Mad-Dog Republican - ALL were courteous - Found the bike I wanted and it was CHEAP - they even helped me adjust it like it needed to be for no extra charge - I just wish it wasnt over 120 miles one way or Id used them all the time - like I need brakes on the front - TWO WEEK WAIT HERE and IT MIGHT TAKE US A DAY OR THREE TO GET TO IT - Id bet I could fix it at The Reno Bike Project this afternoon - and help get more bikes out there where they belong - being ridden and having fun!Id give these guys more than five starts I was SO impressed -- and while ALL their bikes are used, none are in unusable shape, and if you need help, these guys will help you fix the bike yourself so you can fix it on the road if (often when) the bike breaks down. Cant say enough good about the people, the shop, the bikes, the Project - I hate to go anywhere else now. New front brake pads had a cheap quote here of $25 a set (front or rear) PLUS Usually $45 for labor. There the brakes were $15 a pair, and zero labor because Im a low level member. And in 20 minutes Id have the brakes on, adjusted and working! - just cant say enough good about these guys, so Ill just end it here by saying - WOW! WHAT A SHOP!!! WHAT GOOD PEOPLE!!!!!
