One of the best shops in Reno. Every time I’ve gone in for parts or questions, Curtis gives great advice and opinions for what’s best for me and my bike. All the guys there are helpful and friendly. Keep up the good work.

I rented a bike here before burning man and it was the easiest and most pleasant shopping experience Ive had in a very long time. The people here are lovely and helpful, the bikes all held up beautifully in the dusty nightmare we put them through and they even have a little camp at the burn to repair your bikes if anything goes wrong. I HIGHLY recommend this place and doubt Ill ever go anywhere else!

The best shop for my mountain biking needs, hands down. Curtis, Jason, and crew have always come through in the upgrade, service, and support department. They are real riders that know how to wrench. Every upgrade or fun bike fix has elevated my riding experience. So grateful for their expertise.

The only bike mechanics I trust in Reno. I brought a bike here with a fork issue that Great Basin bikes worked on for 30 minutes and couldn’t figure out. I brought it here and it was fixed in a few minutes.

Just got a Custom Intense Carbine 29 pro built up here. Curtis built the bike and I have had no issues with it. Really quick build and turn around. I really like going here and shopping as well as drinking beer and hanging out at the shop. When these guys build up a bike they use a lot of grease and lock tight, which makes it last for ever and creak free. You can really tell the difference when these guys build a bike and do service versus other bike shops. Really happy with my new bike. If you want something done right and get great service, this is the place!! Thank you Black Rock for the amazing service over the years and putting so much care into your services.

Ever since I got into downhill biking Ive been taking all my bikes to Black Rock. Their labor rates are EXTREMELY affordable and they do quality work. Theyre even willing to show you how to do some basic stuff that way you can wrench on your own bike. While sometimes it does take a while for them to complete the work, I am completely understanding as they are a small and local shop. I prefer quality work over fast work. If you are unsure about Black Rock follow them on Facebook. They regularly give back to the community by redoing local trails, participating in charity rides, and holding large group rides. 5 stars to the guys at Black Rock for such great work!

Greatest bike shop ever...I ride XC and gravity disciplines and these guys truly know what they are doing with all kinds of bikes. This shop also has a relational vibe most other shops are lacking because these guys are all passionate riders and never mind taking you with them on a ride. More than a bike shop, these guys are all riders and it shows whenever you go in there. Dont be afraid to bring your junker either because there is no bike they wont work on.

These guys are awesome! I was passing through Reno on business earlier this summer, and they hooked me up with a well maintained Santa Cruz rental, and gave me great information on local trails, hangouts, etc. Curtis and his team are top notch and fair. They charged me less for a Santa Cruz Tallboy rental than the local bike exchange charged me for a low end hardtail.

I would like to thank all of the folks at Black Rock for an excellent rental experience last month.I flew down from Canada to participate in the June 3rd Americas Most Beautiful Ride around Lake Tahoe. As an experienced Roadie I was a little apprehensive of renting, but the folks at Black Rock set me with a great bike that performed flawlessly. In addition to providing me with a quality ride, they installed my saddle and pedals, threw on a computer, and had me set and out the door in less than an hour. I never had to make one adjustment after that - all for a very competitive daily rate. Therefore, if youre coming to the Reno area and need a ride w/ some friendly service, then I recommend Black Rock as your first choice. Its a short drive from the airport.Glenn M,Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Far and above not only my favorite bike shop in Reno, but my favorite of the 5 other cities Ive been a serious mountain biker in. Theyre very knowledgeable about the gear they sell, and know what works well in the local area. The staff is a bunch of passionate riders, and it shows in the work they do. There have been countless times when they have seen the itch to ride in my eyes, and have gone out of their way to keep me rolling up and down the mountains.Support BRB and keep them in Reno!

Great reviews led me to your site and a rental for Burning Man. I was in a hurry to get in line to help build a mutant vehicle so just gathered all parts and quickly left - my mistake. Store was definitely a pro establishment and all staff friendly.Black Rock Desert a challenging place for all vehicles. What went wrong.1) Basket was the wrong size and layed on top of the front wheel - somewhat fixed with Gorilla tape, but unable to carry only light items.2) Lock fell apart on day 2.3) Sprocket on rear hub fell off. Good mechanic in our camp, but unable to fix, so pushed bike to bike repair where they were able to fix it. Took a bike stand, pro tools, parts and a good mechanic.Relayed all this to the shop when returning the bike.

The guys at Black Rock Bicycles will solve any bike problem you are having, provide the most knowledgeable answers to how to upgrade your current bike, or find you the best new bike for your purposes. From Road to cross-country to downhill to everything in-between they know what will work to make you fast and your bike better. More importantly, they will go the extra mile to research any issues so the end result is flawless. They actually ride bikes and test the newest and best stuff out there including its durability. They recommended a sram XO1 eleven speed conversion on my bike and the end result is fantastic--I dont waste my time writing reviews but for Black Rock Bicycles its worth it.

Not really for the beginner. I went in there cause Ive driven by a few times and figured Id check it out. One of the staff was friendly but really not interested in helping something get started. The rest were too preoccupied to even great me. Basically if you didnt have 2 grand to drop on a bike they were not interested in talking to you. They seemed pretty elitist, maybe their mountain, Pevine peak is already too oversaturated by riders?

Wonderful experience with this local bike shop. Came into town for business. But had an afternoon to kill. So, went up to see if I could rent a bike. These guys were in the middle of Birning Man and they gave me so much attention! Within 15 minutes these guys had me fitted with an amazing Santa Cruz and helmet.....they also had SPD’s!!! I brought my shoes just in case! They were very helpful in telling me where to go. The trailhead was less than 5 miles away! People stopped me numerous times on the trail to comment on the bike. They guessed it was from Blackrock. Then went on to say very nice thing about those guys. It’s obvious that these guys take care of their locals! Fantastic experience all around. If you ever come to town you need to look them up. If you live in Reno, the. You probably already know and love them! If you do live in town and don’t know them......where have you been????

I dont even live by Black Rock Bicycle but was referred there by Borealis bicycles. When I called the shop Tom answered the phone and took time to answer my questions regarding the Borealis bikes and wheelsets I could use with it. Very thorough and knowlegeable about fat bikes and mid fat bikes. I live in Las Vegas but that did not matter, Tom was happy to help me with all my needs. I wish I had a bike shop this good where I lived. Buy with confidence because the customer service is just amazing! There were many times Tom could have up sale me on items I thought I needed but instead guided me to the right purchase with internet reviews and his experiences. They will now have all my mountain bike business.
