Best commissary in the country. It is clean and fully stocked and amazing associates work there. Never crowded at all and most people dont know it is there.

Convenient for a quick stop. Not a great selection. They do have whole tenderloins but it will take 30 minutes to ring one up as they are too expensive to be in the system....???!!!

I had a fresh made spinach, turkey and swiss cheese wrap.....it was DELICIOUS! And plentiful!

Everything in this store is expired. I recently bought coconut water splashers gerber brand for toddlers and its was expired since march 2021 which is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS and theyre not checking cause theyre so lazy. PARENTS please check the expiration date before purchasing otherwise you gotta make two trips all the time, wasting gas etc.

One star, do not recommend. I have been the area a year now, got here in the middle of the pandemic. Made sense that the shelves were empty then but not now. Even if you ask for anything it is a hassle for the employees. Other commissaries are stocked, Oceana, NOB, Little Creek, Langley AFB! I fill out the survey’s every week. Nothing changes, all excuses. I am done with this location, I will drive to other Commissaries further away instead of my local one.

Always have grocery items we need... may not be a big store but it packs plenty enough for a medium size grocery store...

Definitely one of the better commissaries. They probably have all the same stuff more or less but produce selection is decent, its larger than most and since its a newer commissary it just has a better overall shopping feel.

I had my first bad experience here today with a bagger and was really disappointed. Being a reservist’s wife and our first time on active duty and near a commissary, I didnt know that you were supposed to tip the baggers after they help deliver the groceries to your car. Theyve always just done it for me and I assumed that was how it worked. The lady had asked for a tip and I never carry cash on me so I apologized that I couldnt, and then she was really rude about it as she walked off. I was shocked.Other than this experience, I enjoy doing all our grocery shopping here. Its never crowded. its the perfect size to get everything we need. The staff is friendly other than that one incident. And they always get checkout done quickly which is great since I always have my kiddo with me. I also like that they will post signs in areas where you might normally find a product letting customers know they are currently out of it. This makes it a lot easier instead of having to dig around trying to find what you need. My son’s favorite thing about grocery shopping at the commissary is that they have carts with steering wheels so he feels like he’s driving around the store.

This is a very convenient Commissary for those of us who live or work in Portsmouth.

1st time visit...was ok...staff not friendly enough...

This is my once a week spot to shop for great military bargains or international foods I cant find. Place is clean, veggies fresh, meats priced just right, staff friendly and efficient, oh plenty of parking.

I mentioned to the manager that the clerk at the deli counter was not very customer oriented. Even though she was making sandwiches she should have acknowledged the two customers waiting for her. We felt invisible.I was surprised that many shelves/chillers were empty. There were no small cans of corn nor bags of Splenda.Otherwise we found the goods and services very good.

Great!So much of a selection to choose from.I went in for a few items&I had a list on my ph to go by.I spent a hr.&a half in there.lol..Looking a the stuff inside the store.An it wasnt my 1st time going there.Great store to shop.Trust me..Give it a try....

Nice store as long as you dont go within 5 minutes of closing. The employees hound you out the door remind you continously that the store close in five minutes as if the world comes to an end when the store closes. Having worked in retail, when customers enter the store before closing and the closing time has past, simply lock the door and remind the customers that the store is closed over the PA and dont browbeat the customer with personal attacks such as dont you know what time it is berating the customers. Having been in the Navy for 30 years, I dont appreciate being treated in thus manner. This applies to the Exchange and not the Commissary!

Good prices here.only problem i have is that the baggers expect a tip. I was ashamed because I wasnt able too (couldnt get cash back from the teller). The woman was very rude and kept shaming me as I was walking away. Like sorry lady not everyone had the ability to tip and she saw me actively trying to get the money from the teller but it was not accepting my card due to low funds.

It was great, food is much cheaper that regular grocery stores and no tax. I purchased a latge pack of pork chops for under $5.00.

Worst commissary in the area. Shelves were pretty bare and the selection is poor compared to the other commissaries. I only use as a last resort as it is closest to where I live.Seem to be always disappointed.

If was spacious and things were stored properly. The team members were friendly. There is just not enough good things stocked for purchase.

Stocked very well with all your holiday groceries

Could be so much better. You have to be careful and check the expiration date on virtually everything except canned goods. I routinely find 8 to 10 items I need to get to be expired. This last visit bread, several meat items, some yogurt, cottage cheese, bagels, bagged salad to name a few had multiple expired items. Check carefully. It seems to be sliding.

I always shop here, despite the fact that Im near norfolk commissary because they have more fresh meat and vegetables.

This is our favorite commissary. When we first moved into the area, over 14 years ago, we got to know the staff as well as the management.The new general manager is amazing, he’s always willing to help.The cashiers are always greeting us with a smile and making conversation with us. I truly do appreciate the men and women that work at this commissary.

Great prices and great service

They may not always have the most items since their store is smaller than other commissaries in the area, however, their staff can’t be beat when it comes to customer service and friendliness. We just got done with the commissary in VA Beach and my husband and I both said Scott’s Annex customer service was a 100% better. They are friendly, helpful, and we just overall enjoy going there to shop.Thank you for always smiling and taking the time to talk to our family.

This is a good Commissary - I like this one because its much less busy than the others in the area. I dont live nearby, but if Im in Portsmouth, Ill go out of my way to swing by and pick up whatever I need instead of going to the Commissary by my house just because its more comfortable. 4 stars because the selection seems less than the other Commissaries. They have just about everything you need, but if youre looking for a really uncommon item, you may not find it here.

Two words: extremely convenient! This commissary is small but PERFECT for those quick runs. Its almost never crowded and has EVERYTHING you need. Some niceties perhaps not but most of what youll need, they have. The only bummer is a lack of an organic section for fruits and such, but has all of your other fruits. Certain flavors of things they also dont carry, but what they lack they make up in convenience. This is my go to on most weekends. Small crowd, even on pay days. Worth the trip!

I love the commissary. The selection is very nice. There is a lot of great choices for everything. I especially love when they do the case lot sales. The staff is always friendly and super helpful. This commissary is easy to navigate and very good in size.

The commissary always has the best prices on meat, and they always have great deals on other items as well. The staff are friendly, and my bagger, Kyle, was friendly and helpful. All him to solve his Rubiks cube for you... Impressive!

Primary grocery store for my family,, love the people and variety.

So far the Scott Annex commissary has been my favorite. I really like how quaint it is. Ive never had to wait in line. The employees have always been friendly and more than helpful. We will miss it when the day comes that we have to move.

Prices are some what higher than other stores, should be lower and poor selection of products.

Great for a quick stop. Selection at the commissary is not as large as others and the prices are a little higher the at the other commissaries. Great bowling alley with specials to make summer fun more affordable. The little pharmacy is a quick alternative to the hospital pharmacy. The package store has a nice selection. Auto hobby shop and outdoor/camping equipment rental. Without the traffic of other bases.

This commissary has too many items that are expired. Weve seen items expired on one visit. We return 2 weeks later and the same items are on the shelves. That makes no sense. I understand that this is not one of the main stores on an actual Naval base but that sort of thing is unacceptable. I can live with the store not having some of the same things as the bigger stores (even though that is sometimes frustrating) but to consistently have expired food on shelves and in coolers is...just bad.

The commissary seems small when compared to Norfolk and Oceana, but has quite the variety with less traffic. Its quickly become my favorite and the most convenient commissary I use, even though I have to pay the toll to get there. They dont have a fresh seafood deli, but other than that, I enjoy my experiences here. Would recommend for someone looking to get in and get out quickly.

This is the worst Commissary, no matter when you go they dont never have full stock, even before the Pandemic. Also the customer service here & the NEX is horrible.

Prices are always best at the commissary. Some commissaries are better than others. This one is decent, a little over crowded and the aisles being crowded doesnt help. But again....you save so much by shopping at the commissary. Glad I retired.

Commissary, Exchange, Bowling alley, self-serve gas station. We stayed there four nights in our RV until security asked us to leave. We kind of knew we were pushing it past day three. We parked way over where the old exchange was. WiFi directly in front of exchange.Close to Naval Station Portsmouth Hospital and all the great shopping.

Great group of people who work tirelessly to support all the troops, vets, and federal workers, etc who shop there. Day in, day out they put in hard work to give the best customer experience possible. The Scott Center Annex Commissary is always my first shopping option for family needs, supplies, and groceries.

Its okay I went when they first opened at 9am. Its kind of small, so dont expect to find everything. They have some things at a bargain but you can find a lot of things off post for cheaper. The meat and produce are pretty good quality. Not much of a seafood section.

Has all your staple items, but poor quality produce with a limited organic selection. Nice overall, I cant beat the proximity to my house, and it is the nicest grocery store within a few miles of home. However, every single cashier seems to hate life. Baggers are hit & miss as far as friendliness.
