Second time Ive used them and cant be more pleased with Kent and his team. Communications are always easy and friendly. Theyre on the right side of town (for me). Ive done two oil changes there ~$225 each time. Thats more expensive than my non-BMW cars for a single visit, but comparable or cheaper considering the 10K mile vs 5K mile interval. They build a history for my car. Ill be seeing them for as long as I own the car unless I have CPO warranty work that needs to be done at the dealer.

Import Auto ia a very professionall run business by Father & Son John and Kent. They get you fixed and out the door for me 1 to 2 days at the most. It is very convient to have an excellent A1 Mercedes repair shop here in Porrsmouth.

Honest and Impeccable Customer ServiceI was a customer of Import Autowerks 5 years ago. Today I got my new Mercedes CL 550 serviced at Import Autowerks. Kent took the time to listen to my concerns that I had about my vehicle and assisted me with choosing the services for the vehicle. I received a phone call from Kent informing me that my car was ready. He explained my car was inspected for my concerns and for any services that was due. He informed me at this time there was nothing due at this time and explained that the noise I was concerned about was not causing any issues or a check engine light. They didn’t even charge me for diagnosing my vehicle. Because of Kent and Jon excellent, honest, and impeccable customer service I will continue to take my vehicle to their repair shop to get serviced.and for repairs.

I went here to inquire about a 2013 BMV I saw online and when I walked in I was not greeted and none of my questions about the car was answered. Then I explained to Kent that I wanted to pay cash for the vehicle which was 11,980 and he told me they don’t take cash because of IRS reporting. I was never shown the vehicle and the guy just stood there and looked at me. After a few minutes he said he was not able to help me. That’s crazy they let a 12,000 sale walk today. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone they are very unprofessional.

I triggered the SRS warning light by removing a seat and failing to disconnect the battery. After getting frustrated with local MB dealers, I found Import Autowerks. Kent was quick to return my voicemail and Jon was able to clear the error code quickly. On the phone, they quoted me a very fair price (much lower than a dealer) and then would not even take my money for the reset! Both Jon and Kent were professional, courteous and generally good people. I would highly recommend them for MB/BMW repair. Too bad for me that they dont normally work on Sprinter vans!

Great experience...a couple years back I went on a referral to get valve lifters updated under warranty because they are known to fail in these model s63 amg...while it was there I was educated on the head bolts being a common problem of failing in these models also so had that done while I was there also...car runs like new...no problems...they really know their stuff...honest and a step above the dealership if you ask me...more personal and they enjoy what they do...I appreciate them and will return if needed...your not just a number where they just get you in and out like the dealership and not just some school bread mechanics relying just on a computer...they can turn a wrench also...highly recommended

I had an accident in my 2013 Active Hybrid5 which broke the tie rod, control arm, and other associated equipment.Knowing the extreme costs involved with repair work at a BMW Dealer, I googled my area for a service department who could perform the work for a fraction of the cost.When I came across Import AutoWerks and read the great reviews, I had to give them the chance.Unable to be driven, while sitting at Pep Boys (who couldn’t do the work), I had my vehicle towed to Import AutoWerks.Kent, the owner, sent me a text promptly after receiving my car and gave me a reasonable time frame for completing the work which I was fine with.He also kept me updated while completing the work, which is not common.Once the work was completed, I arrived and test drove my car to ensure there were no issues, and I must say that the car drove better than before..... there were no chassis stabilization lights on, and it ran smooth.Needless to say, this was a good experience, and no, it wasn’t an inexpensive repair, but compared to what a BMW dealer would have charged me, I was pleased.I highly recommend Import AutoWerks to anyone looking for quality work for a reasonable price.

My BMW is my pride and joy. Typically taken into the dealership for maintenance. Heard a lot of great things about IA through the car community and decided that I’d give them a try when my Oil Filter Housing Gasket went out on my 135i. Kent and the gang were incredible and easy to talk to. They were able to get the car in and fixed quickly but also did a great job. It’s been a little over a month now since I had the car in and had no issues. The oil leak has been corrected and she’s been running smoothly.While it was in, I had some new BBS wheels mounted that I’ve been wanting to get on the car for some time now and they did the install and took excellent care of the wheels! Superior service!It was time for an oil change, inspection, tire rotation, and a brake check up. I can always count on Jon and Kent to get everything done in a timely manner! Furthermore the brake issue I was having was a faulty part that they found was still under the part manufacturer warranty and took care of that for me. It’s a bit of hike to get their shop for me, but always worth it because of the peace of mind I have after they work on my car!

When Kent called me to tell me the repairs would actually cost LESS than the amount I previously agreed to I was ecstatic. Very honest, professional and courteous. The turn around time was great and the repairs they did to my 2010 BMW 528xi were very reasonably priced. I was kinda excepting a wash and vac when I picked my car up but at least it runs great :)

Today I feel as though the business has become too hungry and and not as customer friendly as a company should be. We disagreed on a service that wasn’t due. I ordered my BMW brand new from another company and my starter went bad 7 yrs later 2015. So I got a new starter, battery and something else put on in Oct 2015 and the starter went bad already this year Sept 2019(almost 4 yrs). The warranty was only good for 2 yrs. So I have to pay for another brand new starter. Im just not satisfied with the outcome. I believe it shouldve lasted longer. However Mr Kent has always been nice and professional.

Received a call from Kent saying they found the issue and the repair would be $765.00, but BMW would cover for FREE, under an extended warranty for this issue, if I took it to a dealer. What a great place to have your car serviced. They are very knowledgeable and they treat your car as if it was theirs. I have had nothing but the best service and I will continue to put them above the rest whenever I need my BMW serviced. No beating around the bush or extra bogus cost. I highly recommend this shop. Yesterday my car, a twelve-year-old Jaguar XJ8, overheated as I was driving through Portsmouth on my way home to Richmond. I immediately worried I wouldnt find a mechanic to repair the car properly and/or for a reasonable price as I understand work on Jaguars is generally regarded as tricky and expensive. A nearby business suggested Import Autowerks and when I arrived there I realized Id fortunately found a solid company and excellent mechanic. Though I arrived at the very end of the day, these guys took the time to carefully and accurately diagnose the problem as a stuck thermostat. Ive read elsewhere online that some dealerships misdiagnose this issue and perform costly, unnecessary repairs (for example, to the water pump) but Import Autowerks got it right, charged a fair price and had me back on the road before noon today and the car was perfect all the way home to Richmond.

These guys were great!! My timing chain had broken on my 328i in the middle of traffic i had to wait hours to get it towed and then called and asked if i could have the car towed to their establishment with pretty short notice and thankfully they agreed! Upon the car arriving there I had gotten a call back that my engine was completely wrecked and I would need a new one because their were metal shavings in my oil pan.I was quoted a price of repair that was 100s cheaper than the dealer unfortunately the repair was so massive that I had to lean on family to help me with the cost and they opted to get the repairs done at the dealer because they live out of town and didnt understand how well known these guys are. . .so I had to go along with it.The crew was so proffesional and understanding I recommend these guys fully. Thanks for being understanding I will definitely bring my car back to you all for future repairs.

Did great work at a fair price

Great costomer survice, very fast repair time. Initially went in to get a couple major things done, but to my surprise they were all done in 8hrs, and that also includes the minor repairs.

Sold me a car 2 days later check engine light came on. Then they ignored me and played dumb.

I have two Mercedes and they are expensive to repair (period). The cars have lots of bells and whistles that can and do have issues over time, but my wife and I are willing to live with these types of issues to drive a very nice car.The parts for repairs are expensive and most of these repairs take a good deal of labor to properly make repairs. Finding a reliable shop that does not overcharge for OEM parts, does a superb job making the repairs and then getting the repairs done quickly at a fare price is a real find. I have had nothing but great work done by this shop and have several of my friends now using Import Autowerks for current and future maintenance and repairs. My friends are also very please with their experiences.For honest, reliable, fast turnaround and a fare price for a Mercedes or BMW repairs, go to Import Autowerks and you wont go wrong.

I had been bringing both of my cars to be worked on for three years at this shop and thought that i built a strong integral relationship through those years. However i was mistaken, i bought a 2009 bmw 750li from this establishment and four months later the air compressor went out. I do understand that cars break down and need repairs but a couple of months and then there was no eagerness to help work with the bill. I was treated in a manner in which i had never purchased my bmw from Import Autowerks. This experience will never be repeated again

Ive experienced really bad service here ! Jon is very nonchalant and rude.. My Engine light came on a week after I brought the car & I dont think I received the service I should have received...

Was looking to take my vehicle here for a service in which I had previously talked to this company about over the phone was told to bring vehicle in. Then get a text saying wait till next wk because they just got a load a vehicles in. Followed up a week later via phone call to have it towed. While Tow guy enroute to shop I get a return call from Kent on voicemail stating that they would not be able to work on my vehicle which was enroute. I called back to verify the call and Kent states the reason as its not going to work out when I asked is there any reason why he feels that way and not bring my car in after previously speaking to this company 2 times before regarding the issue of the vehicle it. He just states its not going to work out. I was referred to this company by another BMW specialty group who knows this company well and they had stated that import autowerks would be more suitable for my vehicle problem because of their advance computer system. So in the process of Kent telling me that they wouldnt work on my car.. he says you can go to Eastern Autowerks( another BMW specialty group) I stated to Kent, because he had no idea I was referred to him by this group who is very fsmiliar with their advanced services, that the other company referred me to him. So, I agree with the other customers who actually came up here to do a negative review of their experience with this company that...1. Communication is very poor, as this is my 3rd verbal encounter with this company for service for 3 different situations and on all situations they give you the run around.2. Its very clear they keep a log and number of who they talk to and monitor their calls.So if youve called before and they dont like you for whatever reason probably from # 5 complaint down below they will turn you away3. Even though their ad claim to cater to good customer service they appear prejudice over servicing your vehicle probably due to # 5 complaint below. Because they never looked at my vehicle.4. They are unprofessional. On the first ocassion about rescheduling the date to bring my car in they sent me a text stating to wait till the following week instead of calling and speaking with me verbally.. I never gave them permission to text as a way to communicate. Appears as avoidance to me and what company dont have storage space (even though they didnt say this was the reason)5. They dont want their customers to be knowledgeable of facts of vehiclesAs Christina stated in her complaint about repairs even the other lady the reference of information that I had given them regarding the vehicle from two other BMW agents they seem to shUT that information down and not want to hear about it when in fact it could be an aide to helping them when it comes to repairing your vehicle .Yes you want a company to do their own diagnostic but they never even looked at the vehicle. They seem to be unopen to communication even from other sources. Seems like they want you to be dumb founded so they can get over on you it seems.6.They lie about their servicesWas told by Kent or other guy that they didnt have certain equipment when I was referred by another company who stated they had more advanced computer systems...7. Never have I ever heard a company state its not going to work out when it comes to vehicle before even looking at it..never have I heard that period. .maybe we cant fix your problem, but they never even tried and I worked in car parts and auto repair sites before for years..So maybe it was justice for them to turn me away on some prejudice preassumption. I was never rude or unwilling to let them do their trade and figure out whats wrong with the vehicle. It just seems like they dont have any good intentions. And also they will try to overcharge you fees for service even more than dealership, so do your research. Theyll try you..And no need to reply..its not going to work out there is no excuse for your poor customer service and poor communication ...thank you!

Bad communication. Unreasonable fee to diagnose. Not flexible. Unreasonable price to do the repairs.My son and I brought our 2010 528i in after calling to set an appt. When we arrived, we asked them to diagnose an issue with the car. It was sputtering during higher speeds. The next day they called my son to tell him that the warranty company wouldnt cover the work. They quoted the work. At no time did they tell either of us that there was a $140 diagnostic fee that would be tacked on to the work.I called Jon in the a.m. of the 2nd day to get an explanation of what he found and why the warranty company would not cover it. He plainly was vague to the point that he said i gave all the details to the warranty company Brian called him to discuss it as well and again and became frustrated with the lack of his communication. At no time did he state there was any fees. He stated that the coil pack and the plug on one of the cylinders was showing bad but recommended changing them all to the tune of $1000 no mention of diagnostic fee or waiving one. When Brian heard this, knowing cars and the age of this car with mileage, he questioned why we would have to change all of them. Still vague Jon said you might as well get them all done because at any time they could go bad. Also, the Leak detection pump showed that it needed replacement when they pulled the codes. No explaination as to how these were related. Just that it needed to be replaced. Another $250. So, with this information I contacted the warranty company to see why they wouldnt cover these repairs. They told me that the repair shop said that there was an oil seepage that caused the failure of the pump. I got the father Kent on the phone with us and they dialoged but Kent made matters worse. I finally after Brian researched these issues found that it is not common for a coil pack to go bad at 85K miles and it was not necessary to change them all at this time. I called 2 other shops and a customary charge is $500 for all 6 coil packs and plugs.So, after being on the phone several times all day with the warranty company and trying to understand what Jon and Kent actually knew about my car I became very frustrated. We went to the shop to discuss it. He serves me with a $140 diagnostic fee. I feel that these two were deceptive and vague. They did not tell me what was going to be involved with diagnostic and refused to waive it if we had them do the work. I lost trust in this business when Jon would not communicate with me on Tuesday a.m. which led to a series of events that wasted my time and money.If you decide to use these guys make sure you ask up front what the charges are before you leave your car with them. They took advantage of me and would not bend after we discussed it with them.Once I lost trust I was done. It is like bad credit it takes a moment to mess up and years to fix.Sorry but this is bad business. I was very upset when I left and I believe people need to know what happened.

Whoever the guy is that they have taking phone calls needs to be fired. I called in for a quote for service B for my Mercedes and he was very rude. He quoted me a rediculous amount almost double what the dealership charges.
