The shopping experience itself was very pleasant. We were shopping for a small couch, they were very helpful in making a selection. It was a custom order, and we were told that it would take UP to ten weeks to get the order. Sounded reasonable. Got a confirmation in the mail that the couch would be delivered by the end of February. HOWEVER, February, no couch. Called mid March, it will be on the truck end of March. MARCH, no couch. Now end of April, no couch. We will call you.When I called to inquire, the person on the phone was rather curt, and said, well it takes that long! You and every one else is waiting. No explanation no apology, nothing!. Very unhappy. was going to buy more stuff from them, not now unless it is in stock and I can cart if off right then and there.

We love our leather sofa from Hub. It is quite literally the center of our home life, where we spend hours each day reading, playing, and relaxing. Comfortable, attractive, and durable enough to handle the abuse of two wild little boys :) Andrew helped us find exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend Hub Furniture!

I recently had a very good experience at Hub furniture. I went to Hub after having a bad experience at another furniture store. The people at Hub were friendly with no pressure sales tactics. The sales lady was upfront and honest about how covid has affected delivery times for furniture shipping direct from the manufacturer. Hub also has a impressive selection of furniture in their Portland store. Most of their furniture seems to be made in the U.S. I would not consider Hub anymore expensive for purchasing furniture made in the U.S. I dont believe it would be a fair comparison, regarding price point to compare U.S. made furniture with foreign made furniture, which seems to be sold more in some of the other furniture stores. I am trusting that the piece of furniture we purchased at Hub will hold up over time. I would like to add that my love seat was delivered completely wrapped in plastic to protect it during delivery. The delivery guys were very friendly and practiced CDC recommended covid protocol. I think its worth going to Hub furniture first, when starting your search for furniture.

Ive bought a few things from them over the years and they look nice and theyre comfortable on the showroom floor but theyre made with staples and bubble gum. Where is the American Craftsman when you need him.? The brawny Man with a hammer and a saw who would fell down mighty oaks and cause furniture to become.

Excellent place to purchase furniture. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We visited Hub to look for couches and even thought hey were did not have the set we were looking for they were able to order them for us. Their prices were better than two other furniture stores we visited looking at the same exact couches. Theres a very good reason why Hub has been in business for so long and its because they take care of their customers.

The customer service is awful and very imperfessional. The cushions we ordered for our gliding chair (that we originally bought from HUB) were not the correct size and we were told we couldnt exchange them for the correct size or return them to the store. Hub Furniture has lost our business and we would never recommend anyone do business with Hub Furniture.

I purchased a couch roughly 4 years ago. The couch is still in terrific shape and very comfortable. The service was outstanding. More recently called for some help. They provided me with excellent information without hesitation and they did not profit providing it to me. They suggested how I could get some cushion covers custom made by an outstanding person. The cushion covers are fantastic. I wanted to take a moment to thank Hub Furniture by letting them know I appreciate their great efforts and expertise and also let other potential customers know about my wonderful experience with their products and service. Excellent customer service. We were looking for a couch that could double as something for my mother-in-law could sleep on when she visited. Andrew assisted us and he was great because it took a while until we finally found one we liked. A couple of weeks after we got it, we realized it wasnt going to work. Andrew worked with us to return it and to get a new one that worked great for us. Ill come back anytime I need furniture and will highly recommend them to my friends.

Love this place! Family owned and operated (currently three generations work here). Two locations, Westbrook and Portland (Westbrook store is 1 floor where the Portland location is 4 floors and a basement). I bought a Sealy Hybrid mattress set; half springs, half memory foam as well as a Canadian Glider chair. Great prices, incredible delivery guys (they even called me 30 minutes before coming), and I LOVE my new mattress!!! The chair is more beautiful than I expected; I chose the wood finish and fabric and had an idea how itd look, but Im so thrilled with the finished product!! Made in the USA and delivered in about a month.

Bought a fantastic custom made couch with free delivery to my apartment. Top quality product but their customer service is eh. It took almost two months to get the couch because they ran out of fabric and their order didnt make it on the truck in time or something. I recommend them but be prepared to wait a while for the product.

Hub has a good selection of quality American made furniture at excellent prices. The owner and staff are friendly, kind, patient, and personable. They are also very knowledgeable. Love the great old historic building : ask about it when you are there! Hub is a real community treasure. This is so much better than shopping for junky stuff at some antiseptic chain. Shop there!

We recently purchased a dresser from Hub for my sons bedroom. They delivered it for an additional $50 (even though the salesman said $40), set it up, and the delivery people were friendly. Thats the only good thing I can say. The dresser is a piece of junk: wobbly press-board drawers, wiggly handles with stripped screws. It looks and feels like a stiff breeze will knock it down. When I called to ask what the Hub return policy is, I was told You got what you paid for. Exact words. I was told that if I wasnt happy with the product, I could bring it back (at my expense) and exchange it for something more expensive. That is poor customer service. He actually said, you got what you paid for...what we got was ripped off and treated badly. Well never buy another stick of furniture from this place, and well tell everyone we know about this experience. We tried to buy local and support a business in town instead of buying online, but what we got is cheap, poorly constructed furniture and lousy customer care.

I have to say I was extremely surprised at the knowledge of some of the people that work at Hub Furniture my wife and I literally took an entire weekend shopping for furniture from Maine to New Hampshire our last stop was at HUB and Westbrook we met a gentleman there that was extremely knowledgeable we were there and spent a lot less time looking at furniture the prices were extremely competitive with Bobs Lazy Boy in Green Mountain furniture whats told us there was the knowledge the fact that the guy asks a million questions about our style and then had to sit and pointed out posture and when we found it out what made us comfortable it was easy to make a decision the delivery was reasonable and a lot cheaper than the big stores and they are flexible and delivery times whereas big stores arent this is a family-owned company in Maine and have been around for over a hundred years no brainer anybody that put one there needs to have a self reality check because this is a great company.

Absolutely terrible customer service after the sale, purchased a new sleep sofa, they delivered it and when we tried using it we found a bolt was missing from one of the legs, so we couldnt use the bed. Our guest had to sleep on the floor. That was almost a month ago, I called a week ago and again today and they have no idea when the part is coming in. I am ready to bring it back and get a full refund. I cant believe they have stayed in business as long as they have with this type of service. REALLY!

We purchased a sectional less than 2 and 1/2 years ago and the frame is cracking and giving way under the seat and in the back. Also the frame within the arm of the sofa is broken. The frame has a limited lifetime warranty but we were told we have to pay for the repairs. We are very disappointed with the quality and service. We wanted to shop from a local business but won’t be going back. We’ve had couches for far longer and never had any problems. We don’t know yet how much the repairs will be.

I dont understand the poor reviews here. We have gotten some amazing furniture here, solid wood bed sets, sectional couch, for half the price. They dont have a showroom which cuts the cost so you go through an old gum factory downtown, several floors of stuff. Customer service was excellent, if you know what you want just email them and skip the store. And delivery is free!

Hub Furniture- BUYER BEWARE!I purchased a mattress for nearly $2000 and it caused my wife’s back to hurt. Hub would not allow me to exchange it. When being delivered to the bedroom by Hub Furniture representatives the stairway and hall wall and ceiling were scratched. Sam at Hub would not repair the damage. BUYER BEWARE!

Thanks to internet theres less and less need to have huge cavernous stores full of commodity items. Right? Generally true, except for products that are designed to interface with an individuals body. You really need to buy these kinds of items in person. For example, tattoos. Or furniture. Specifically, in our case, a chair optimized for our aesthetic and functional requirements. Hub has many many chairs and I sat in most of them before sitting down with their seating consultant and placing an order. Im really glad I visited Hub. They beat the estimated delivery date, also.

Some time ago, I went there looking for something nice in oversized armchairs and an ottoman. I will admit that the store has an incredible selection of furniture, but Im not happy with their guaranty policy.I purchased two armchairs with a matching ottoman in bonded leather, as suggested by the salesman. He said it would hold up as well as real leather, and should be cared for like leather... I wasnt convinced, but agreed it was less expensive than real leather.Within two years, the leather started to peel and flake off, exposing the fabric it was bonded to... and it progressed to become more wide-spread, and looked horrible.I called the store several times, when It started, and continued to call as it became worse. The store would do nothing to help or resolve the problem.They had me call the mfr in North Carolina, to no avail. The mfr said it wasnt usual, but the store has the responsibility. HUB, said they have no liability for mfr defects... it became a tennis match... back and forth until I was informed that too much time had passed, and there was nothing further that could be done... I was furious!!It wasnt MY fault...but they just jerked me around until I gave up and spent $100 for Sure Fit Slipcovers to hide the problem. Now, its still peeling, gets all over my apt and carpeting... almost 50% of the leather has come off... gross!!!My only recourse is to get rid of it all and it will cost apx $75 for someone to take it away and dispose of it properly. Then theres replacement cost for new furniture, delivery, tax and tipping the delivery guys. This is ridiculous, a rip-off and thievery, conspiracy, fraud etc... they didnt even offer a compromise, or offer a discount on replacement furniture...Basically, they dont give a damn... the comment that TOTALLY upset me was..., they deep discount and have a small profit margin, so they wont absorb a loss... b.s.!They swore up and down, at purchase about their guaranty policy, how they stand behind what they sell etc, etc.ALL LIES AND FRAUD... ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY THEY FORGET THE SALES PITCH.They should be ashamed... I will never shop here again and have told everyone that I know to go somewhere else... even BOBS DISCOUNT FURNITURE💣💥

Nothing but problems. We ordered a dining set for our new house, the delivery was hours late and the table was damaged upon arrival. I wanted to support local business instead of buying on the internet so we gave them another chance and ordered a bedroom set. Once again the delivery was late and furniture was damaged upon delivery. In addition, there were no slats for the bed so we have to sleep on the floor (on a mattress, but still!). The bedroom set was not even complete as a dresser was missing from the order and they cant tell me when it will be coming in. It wouldnt be so bad if it seemed as though they cared about the problems they were causing. But, based on their unapologetic demeanor, this kind of customer service is common place for them.

Bought a couch a year ago. shortly after buying the reclining portion started to sag and my cat ripped the underneath... no big deal except when trying to get it repaired when I bought the Jaws and Claws warranty, which is not through HUB and I was never given any literature with phone number. No big deal. Now a year into owning this couch the seat cushions are collapsing, the armrests are sliding off the frame. It took me 3 weeks of emails and calls to get in touch with their warranty lady who asked me to send photos. I did so and then never heard from them again other than we will order parts. except they ordered the wrong parts.. they arrived 5 weeks later when I got a call from not HUB but a contractor. The contractor that next day came over and realized right away he had the wrong materials so he went to HUB and spoke to Andrew. This was 4 weeks ago, I am now moving and have bought other furniture (Go see Sho at Bobs Discount in Scarborough). I called Hub this morning and was very rudely to the point of being yelled at by the phone lady that she will not go find a manager because she tried paging and no one picked up. (I hung up on her because I refuse to be yelled at by someone who I gave my money to. I called back a half hour later and spoke with Sam who would not do anything and started giving me excuses. I told him I am moving and have no place to bring the furniture he did not give me any updates on the parts order and refused to hold the furniture there until it got fixed and or pay for someone else to fix it once the parts arrived. I even offered to drop it off and pick up the furniture.Horrible customer service, Poor furniture quality, BUYER BEWARE!

We ordered an ottoman from Hub to match the love seat we purchased there. Promised within four weeks, they called to say it was not on the truck on the promised date and would call me back with what happened. Two weeks and two calls not returned, I reached Sam at the Portland store. Sam said someone was supposed to call me back and apologized and said it would be two additional weeks before delivery, now making it 8 weeks from our original purchase. Apologies for sloppy service are not acceptable.

They could learn to party more, but thats just me. Im The kind of individual who really, really likes to party. I mean, went two weeks ago looking for your standard recliner. I asked the really tall dude with the jet black, slicked back hair and rad leather jacket and shades, whats a guy gotta do around here to get a gnarly, leopard print, velvet recliner with built in cooler and beer dispenser? He turns to me, smooths back his hair, lights a smoke and says, You got it wrong. We aint that kinda space, Chase. He takes a deep drag, lets the smoke roll real smooth like out his nostril and mouth, We take the road slow, Joe. I was fine with all that jazz and mishap. Just not my kind of pad, dig. But I repesct the difference. Just wish they partyed more, thats all, really.

Looked everywhere for the right sofa for my new house, finally found it at Hub. Was delivered the next day (not easy to fit it through the door) but the delivery guys took their time and did it gently and without damage to door frame or sofa. Im very pleased and would definitely shop there again.

We purchased a Klaussner couch from Hub in March of 2015. About a month into having the couch, the fabric started to shed and pill all over. At first, I thought this was just the new fabric being broken in but it has continued to deteriorate over the past year and is now very thin and still pilling. It looks like a 10 year old couch and isn’t even 2 years old. While very annoying because the salesman Steve had assured us that this particular fabric was “extremely durable”, it was something we could live with. However, recently we had a much bigger problem that further highlighted the absolute embarrassing quality of this furniture. We were sitting on the couch one night and we heard a loud cracking noise. Now the couch was sagging in the middle and completely touching the floor. Hub sent a repair man out to take a look and upon inspection of the bottom of the couch found that the frame had completely cracked. What was even more alarming in looking at the frame was the type of wood used. When we purchased the couch, the salesman Steve assured us that the frame would be made of real hardwood handcrafted in North Carolina. This was a complete and utter lie. The frame in our couch is made out of particle board or some other synthetic wood. When I called the owner Sam to tell him that we were lied to about the quality of the frame, he insisted that although it is not real wood, it is extremely strong and that “house are made” of this type of wood. That was likely another boldfaced lie given that the couch didn’t last 2 years without the frame completely giving out. Note that we are a young couple without any kids or dogs – it’s not like this couch is getting a lot of wear and tear. Sam tried to imply that we had done something to break the couch which contradicted his reiterated point that this wood was extremely strong. If a couch cannot withstand two people sitting on it, it is clearly defective or extremely low quality. I had never heard of this happening to a couch in my entire life, especially less than 2 years into purchasing it. The bottom line is that Hub sells embarrassingly low quality furniture using salesmen who will tell whatever lie they can to make a sale. Even worse, when issues are raised after the sale, they will continue to lie and take no responsibility for the poor quality and unprofessional salesmen that they employ. Do not waste your time or money with this company. I have warned all my family and friends in the Portland area to avoid Hub at all costs.

The furniture is OK, but well NEVER buy from them again. Delivery guys were rude, filthy, argumentative, and destructive. They tore up a door, broke a thermostat, and threw our used furniture into the bushes, breaking it and causing my husband to tear a muscle pulling it out. Incredibly, the proprietor insisted the boys are well-liked and respectful and he believed their claim that theyd merely knocked off a thermostat cover. When we told him to send someone other than them to assess the damage, he failed to return calls or email. Never experienced such terrible customer service!

Just bought a new bed, box spring and headboard. After 30 days the headboard crackles every time we sit on the bed. Called Hub Furniture asking what they would do about it. They indicated that the head board had nothing wrong with it, that it was designed that way. They made no offer to send anyone out to look at the head board, nor would they allow us to return it, or trade up for a better headboard. When we asked the owner of Hub Furniture Sam Novick if he cared that we were an unsatisfied customer he stated that they have been doing business this way for over 100 years.So if you expect any customer service do not go to Hub Furniture. FURNITURE BUYERS BEWARE OF HUB FURNITURE - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.. NONE
