Went for a brake and headlight inspection. I am an at home tech. I checked all my brake components and pad thickness. everything was great and functioning properly.They couldnt find anything wrong with my car, i saw the tech have a conversation with another guy and then they came to me and said i failed with low brake pads. I would need to purchase and change them.Aha. I say, how do you figure? I just inspected them myself and they were within spec.He pulls out a brake thickness gauge. the ones with red, yellow and green. He said its barely on the edge of yellow which is 60% and cant pass.I ask for a specific measurement, and compare it to original specs. I want to see what 60% of green means lol. ;But they refuse, they go by the universal colors gauge(which btw is kind of a scam, because different cars have different pad thickness, so how can they all use the same gauge, lol)I keep asking to measure because, I pulled the wheels of an inspected everything the night before. And I would have no problem driving another 30k mikes on those.They go back to the thickness gauge....So, I pull out a set of brand new brake pads from my trunk. I had anticipated changing them out the night before, but the old ones looked good.I show them the pads and ask them if my old pads are 60 percent of this new pad??They were literally almost the exact same thickness. Not close to 60%, not even 80% they were like 95% thickness.I caught them on their scam 100%. they still refuted and insisted they were gonna do ME a favor and pass the test, only if i promised to change the pads asap. haha.I said no more funny business, do the job. Lucky i dont report to motor vehicles.

Went in around 8:45 am for a smog check and it took no more than 20 min. Phil was super friendly and quick. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent service! Ive been using them for over 10 years, and I have recommended family members, and Im now sending my daughter there as well. I never feel over-charged, and they tell you honestly what can wait and what shouldnt. You may have to ask them to repeat themselves a few times, but no big deal - Im sure they struggle to understand me at times too :)
