We have purchased several violins for our daughter from David Michie as well as he has handled several fixes, modifications, and bow rehairs for us over the years. David and Jennifer are always so kind to us and seem like old friends. Super personable and always such great customer service. Even though we dont live in the city, we always drive in from the suburbs because we trust David Michie and prefer to do business with him and Jennifer.

This is a nice violin shop yet we really hope they can have a different office assistant. The current office assistant, Jennifer Smith, is very unhelpful and annoying due to lack of professional knowledge, yet she constantly blocks necessary communications between customers and David. Her harsh tone and offensive manner make people uncomfortable and not willing to do business with the shop. She seems enjoying more in lecturing customers with shallow, non-sense level information than trying to understand and assist them. She screams to get her way out when there is a conflict between her and customers need. Be aware and stay away by all means if you can to save your valuable time please.

An excellent shop. He provided much needed TLC for a violin that I hadnt played for years & needed much work. The price was very reasonable; about the same quoted by a repairman at the local music store, however David is an expert and specializes in stringed instruments, therefore much better value. He also completed the work quickly. I highly recommend this shop.

Jennifer is extremely nice and helpful as is David, as they were able to reset my Cellos soundpost very quickly. You can park in the loading zone outside of Parc for free if youre worried about parking (which I was). It was actually pretty easy getting to the shop by driving even though it is in I had a snapped bridge which also damaged the top face of the cello. They let me know that some additional repair work needed to be done. No rigamarole. Its expensive, but you get what you pay for in expertise I think. Good people.

Are expert, professional, courteous, friendly, fair and kind. What more could you want? I purchased my daughters nice 3/4 size violin here as was recommended by her teacher. Not only that, but David smiled and made a bow for us to treasure using the hairs from one of our beloved ponies. The girls say that the sound is much better than from the regular bow :) Once youve been, you wouldnt use anyone else.

In an emergency, I wound up using David Michie for a repair to a broken bow. He also did a rehair. Despite the significant damage to the bow, after he fixed it, I couldnt even see the break. The bow felt as good as new. He also did a fantastic job at rehairing it. Also, his prices are exceptionally fair. I dont take my instruments to anyone but him now.

Terrible... the office manager, Jennifer, is extremely rude, haughty, unhelpful and highly offensive... when I called to speak to David to get his opinion on the Chinese-made Otto violins and replicas of Stads & Guaneris that has been all the rage with professional musicians recently, she had not a clue about these Chinese-made violins I was referring to, and very snobbishly stated David would not even speak to me about these violins in the haughtiest, most rude manner... I am a Curtis grad & alumni of Juilliard and Mannes College (student of Ivan Galamian at Curtis, David Cerone, Josef Gingold and Dorothy Delay), and her manner & way she spoke to me was incredibly unprofessional and off-putting indeed...
