They are awesome over there. I recommend all of my family and friends to use them. I dont know why I havent chosen Foreign Aid sooner. They are located less than a mile from my house.

Called for help with my Jetta. As soon as I told him that I had replaced a part on my own, he said theyre not interested in helping with a vehicle when someone has attempted work on their own. This might make sense from a mechanical perspective, but that is HORRIBLE customer service and completely unprofessional. EDIT: In response to the shops reply: I found a different shop with much better, much more professional service. They got the car fixed in less than a day. Works like a champ! I wont stoop as low as they have with sarcasm and passive aggression. I recommend that anyone looking for help PICK ANY OTHER SHOP. These guys arent interested in helping...

Update 12/12/20 This summer it was time to rebuild the engine on our 1969 buggy. Todd and the crew did a great job. Coming in for its 300 mile break in oil change... I left the parking break on and over heated and killed the new engine. Todd stood behind their work and fixed the overheating problem by changing the 2nd new engine to a vertical fan instead of the type 3 pancake fan. He only charged me for parts and he ate the labor. Who does that? Two years ago, I purchased a VW dune buggy and needed some service that I could not do. A dune buggy friend, recommended Foreign Aid Auto. I was impressed with the work of Todd and Jim getting my buggy set up with new wiring and ready to license again. Fair prices and excellent service!

I have had an amazing experience at Foreign Aid Auto Repair! Not only did they do a quality job on my VW but they finished when they said they would! They are fair and honest. Gunner was amazing! As a young female, I always feel worried that auto shops will take advantage of my lack of car knowledge and overcharge me or not give me quality help. I did not feel this way at Foreign Aid. They walked me through each of the repairs my car needed and did extra work to make sure I was getting the right parts for my car! They gave me a great price for the parts and labor! My car is running smoothly and I walked away feeling great and having peace of mind as to the work done and the price paid! I highly recommend bringing your business here!

We were traveling through the area when we lost our power steering in our Mercedes Sprinter. We called Steve (owner) and he brought us in right away. He did everything in his power to get it repaired the same day so we could get back on the road. He loaned us a car while working in the van so we could run errands. His customer service was above and beyond what I have ever received by an auto mechanic, especially with no appointment. And it’s not because he wasn’t busy, because he was swamped. He just wanted to help out someone who was a full time traveler and get us up and running. Can’t say enough good things! He then gave us some sight seeing tips for the area and his number if we had any additional problems with the van while in town. Thanks Steve!!

Ive been using Foreign Aid for all of my auto repairs for several years, and they are my go to auto shop in Utah County. They explain everything that they need to do to repair your car, and give you the other options to a complete repair if there are any. Once the repair is complete, they would always bring out the broken part and show me what the problem was, and even offered to let me keep the broken part if I wanted (I never took them up on the offer). These guys are honest, no nonsense mechanics, and when there was a problem with the initial repair, they took care of the follow up visit with no additional charge. Ive recommended Foreign Aid to several friends, and feel compelled to let anyone cruising Google Reviews know that this is a good place to take your car to get fixed.

Todd (owner) is an honest man. I had taken my 06 BMW to a different shop and they diagnosed it with needing a head gasket replaced, which I thought was a bit absurd. They also wanted $2800 to do the job. I took it to Foreign Aid for a 2nd opinion and Todd told me that it was not the head gasket, it was the oil filter housing gasket that needed to be replaced (common problem with BMWs). Im very pleased with the level of honesty and trust. I do recommend this automotive repair shop.

I chose to go to Foreign Aid due to the good reviews they had online and from a recommendation. I took my 2010 Passat in for a inspection to determine where an oil leak was coming from. Todds (the owner) team inspected it and determined it was coming from an leaking pump. I had the repair made and the cost ended up being over $600 dollars. Todd charged me two hours for labor even though it took only one hour. I waited in the lobby for the repair so I was aware of the time. I questioned Todd for the extra hour of labor. His response was, the manual called for two hours so thats what we charge. If a job takes over the recommended time we only charge the manual rate. So, i paid $90 towards someone elses repair. I drove my car home and the leak was still present. I called and they said it was probably residual left over from the repair. I keep checking after driving and the leak never stopped. I took it down to Foreign Aid and Todd looked under it and cleaned off the oil with air. He said it was residual oil left over from the repair. I drove home and now a few weeks later the leak is still present. I had an appointment today where they looked at it again and determined it is another issue. $280 repair. What upset me was Todd said, that I said the new repair stopped the leak for two weeks. I immediately said thats not true. It was leaking the same day I left after the first repair. He insisted that was what I said I told him you must have me confused with someone else. He said Well thats what I remember. He insisted he was correct. I will never give my business to him again. He is not the honest man I thought he was.

I was having electrical problems/transmission faults last week. Big mistake taking to the dealership in Lindon, they told me it would be $2,500!! $1,500 for replacing a sensor. Took my BMW 328xi here instead and they were able to fix my car in less than two days (fast) by replacing my alternator regulator and battery. It was less than $600. Todd showed me the broken part and how it broke and told me how long I should expect my current alternator should last. Dang I wish I would have taken my car here for repairs long ago! I never felt so lucky about having my car break down 900 miles from home. After completing 6000 miles of a 7000 mile road trip, my 2003 convertible Saab “puked” oil on the highway as I left my hotel in Grand Junction. Using a Saab mechanic onlin search, there were two choices in Grand Junction and luckily the first one didn’t answer the phone because the one that did was Steve at Foreign Aid...though I think of them as “Local Hero.” From the first second, Steve was straight-forward: “I’m busy, but I’ll take a look at your leak.” He asked all the right questions, even though my knowledge about cars is small. He also saw the predicament I was in: far from home with my 3-yr old daughter, who he gave candy and WiFi access to keep her occupied as the car got diagnosised.Being a teacher - I asked him for his opinion if saving an old car like this was worth it vs the cost to fix, and after estimating the parts providing a high and low estimate, with the car not having many miles, he recommended fixing.Steve also was accommodating about a timetable. I wanted to get my daughter home, and he made it work for me to leave the car for nearly two weeks. When retrieving it, I successfully got to the car back home to San Diego. My personal favorite quote - “With all those European cars out front, do you sell cars too?” Steve’s response: “I can’t sell cars. I’m too honest.” He also is a wealth of wisdom about western Colorado, and gave me a couple local peaches to compare to my home state of New Jersey’s peaches. (Palisades peaches are quite sweet.)I don’t know if he only works on European cars, but if I lived locally, I’d bring any car I owned to him. I also liked that not once did he remind me that Saab isn’t in existence, which happens a lot with car guys.Like I said - how lucky was I to break down on the I-70 five miles from the Foreign Aid.

I cant say enough good things about Foreign Aid. On the way home from work, my car started making weird noises. I had work done on my car a few months previously at the Toyota dealership, and it had cost $1,300. I was afraid I wouldnt be able to make it all the way home, so I pulled into the nearest auto shop, which was Foreign Aid. I pulled in at 5:45, and their sign said they closed at 5:30. I went to the door hoping it would still be open, and it was. The man sitting inside was clearly off duty, but offered to run a diagnosis on my car. After finding the problem, which was a bad spark plug (which was what the dealership had fixed months earlier), Gunnar told me they could fix it the following day for about $10 in about 15 minutes. My car was under warranty at the dealership, so I gave them a call. They said they couldnt get to it for 2 days. By this point I was sitting in my car, wondering if I would be able to drive to an event I had planned on attending 20 minutes away. I walked back to the front of the store to ask Gunnar if my car would last that far. The door was locked this time, but he came and unlocked it. He had changed out of his work clothes and was clearly ready to go home.I asked him my question and told him what the dealership had told me. He went to the back and got a spark plug for me, and said he would change it for me really fast. By this time, it was almost 6:30 pm, a whole hour after they had closed. Gunnar was so kind and polite, and thorough in his explanation of what was happening with my car. He definitely didnt need to stay after for so long to help me, but he did.I only ended up being charged $2.78 for the spark plug. I couldnt believe it!!! I know the dealership wouldve charged me way more, and probably wouldnt have been so kind. THANK YOU GUNNAR AND FOREIGN AUTO!!! Ill definitely be returning with any car problems in the future.
