Ive been bringing my car to Monto Auto Service for years for my routine oil changes.The staff is knowledgeable, informative, and genuinely go above and beyond. I have never felt like they were trying to trick me into buying more services than are necessary. I highly recommend!

Dont try to get an appointment for your vehicle day of or even week of. Some guy named Brian there always tells you they are too busy even though there are no vehicles in the bays and everyones standing around.Taking my business elseware

I was able to schedule a day-of oil change appointment and they took my car in immediately. It was ready in 20 minutes, as accurately predicted by the man who checked me in. There was no hassle and they didnt attempt to sell me services or expensive add-ons I didnt need, as other mechanics have done before. It was a convenient and smooth process with fair prices. I will come back for future auto service needs.

Update: Not that tires should go bad that fast but weve put a lot of miles on and they are still in great shape. So yea, definitely happy with them.I felt like we got a good deal. They were friendly and fast. Will definitely recommend.

The entire staff quit in the middle of my repair work, leaving my car on a lift. One of the former employees was nice enough to bring it down and enable me to seek my repairs elsewhere. Im thankful that I will never seek their assistance for repair work again, in Northampton or anywhere else.

We were on vacation in Mass, we heard a noise from our car and we went to Monroe Muffler/Brake. A couple of weeks ago I began experiencing a misfire while heading up to VT to ski. We called Monro on a Saturday morning and were serviced within 35 minutes. These guys had me on the road incredibly fast and I event went ahead with an oil change I needed. Kudos to Carlos & Mike! They took great care of me, and theyll do the same for you!

I am new to the area and definitely needed to find a good garage for car maintenance. I had an ongoing problem with my rear brakes system and they fixed everything and were very nice about it. It was an expensive job, but it was definitely a very reasonable price for the job that had to be done. They could have tried to scam me because I was younger and new to the area, but they did not and they are very trustworthy. I am happy to have found a good garage in the area and will definitely be going back!

Honest and no BS. Called up a few other places before coming here and you would be surprised on how many places tried to do a bait and switch (quoting one price over the phone and giving me something else at the door). Monro told me 54 over the phone and it was 54 at the door, no bait and switch pricing. Priced included the oil filter too and a free basic service inspection. Staff was very friendly, answered all my questions, and even showed me under my car where they spotted an issue (something I already knew and could confirm, so they were honest). Would recommend.

These gentlemen are the GREATEST! My tire started making a noise late at night miles from home and they took me in right away, solved the problem and had me safely on my way within minutes AT NO CHARGE. They were PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, and COURTEOUS. Im considering driving an hour from home to have my car regularly serviced here. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. Cannot say enough about how great this place is!

Had a great experience here, and Mike, the store manager, really knows what he’s doing. They got the part I needed quickly and did the job when they said they would. I had an appointment, and they took me right away when I arrived. Very happy with the experience and would definitely come back here the next time I need exhaust or other mechanical work.

Had a tire blowout on our way to Vermont the day before Christmas Eve, I called ahead to see if these guys could change our tire and the gentleman on the phone delivered the only good news of the day saying he certainly could. Brought in the new tire and he changed it in about 15 minutes. Highly recommend this place and the customer service was great! Thank you all so much for saving the day.

If I could give them more stars, I absolutely would! My muffler was dangling like a leaf but they got me in at 5 on a Friday, really saving my tail with the speed and quality of their work. They were friendly and helpful; if you need help, these are the people you want to deal with. Very fairly priced too! Really, they just did such a stellar job, I cant thank them enough.

These guys are so great every single time I’ve gone in. Today was another awesome service, so I had to leave a review.I’ve been going to them with my car since I got it in early 2017. First for just an oil change, then some brake work, new tires.... today was for some serious brake work. What could’ve been a miserable experience (trust me the bill was high... but i had basically everything replaced), turned into another great experience. They took me to go look at exactly what was going on with my calipers, explained everything very thoroughly, and helped me out with saving money on what could’ve been a potentially $1000+ bill (I have a Suzuki they no longer sell in the US, or even produce anymore).They even offered me a soda while I was waiting! Seriously, you guys.... I highly recommend Brian, Mike and their crew.

No hassles, quick and courteous service. I dropped my car off for an oil change and went across the street to do some shopping, and my car was all ready for me when I came back! I also asked for some honest advice about my tires, and Mike told me that they were in fine condition (i.e., he didnt try to sell me anything that I didnt need). The team at the Northampton Monro is always great. They accommodate emergencies on the spot. Ive attempted going to other Monro locations when there has been an emergency and Im not near Northampton and ultimately I end up at this site and things get resolved smoothly and quickly.

My first experience here was wonderful. I showed up a half hour before close with my new flat tire. Carlos, saw me open my trunk to get out my tire, stopped what he was doing and ran out to carry it inside. He then walked me through what he was doing step by step as he found the leak, removed the nail, and then fixed the leak. He then happily put the tire back on my car and made sure all my other tires were filled properly. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Really great service! I travel a lot for work so I always come here for an oil change and they can fit me in the day I call. I recently brought my car in because I was having engine temp problems (day of call as well) and they thoroughly checked everything out and topped my coolant off all free of charge. I had a tricky car repair, a part that was difficult to find. Mike and the staff were a great help. There were parts online that purported to fit my car, but the information was incorrect, he helped me figure out the right part and got it installed - great service and a great price.

I love this place! They always tell me exactly which repairs can wait and what cant.I recently went to Jiffy Lube for just an oil change, and they tried to upsell me on new brakes-- telling me that I only had 20% brake life left. Monro looked at my car and within 45 minutes told me that my brakes were in great shape, saving me $500.

I recently took my car into Monro in Northampton for a couple issues and was very satisfied with the overall experience. I needed new brakes, an alignment and an oil change. Prior to going to Monro I got an alignment done at a local competitor. Turns out they didn’t do it properly but the guys at Monro took care of it.Not only did I get all of that work done for a pretty reasonable price but they also vacuumed out my car and cleaned the dashboard and made the inside look new again! Way above and beyond! Would not hesitate to go to Northampton Monro again!

Had my car towed there this morning because it wouldnt accelerate and had a real bad burning smell, they promptly found the issue and were able to fix it within just a few hours. Had a wonderful experience here and will definitely be back!

I was looking to get an oil change at a shop closer to where I recently moved to and Monro was right down the street. I browsed through their website only to find that its loaded with coupons and promotions, which is of course a plus, so I decided to head over. I made an appointment for the afternoon, but got there about 30 minutes early. They brought my car in instantly and began to work on it, finishing up an oil change and a bonus tire rotation in no time. The staff was kind and accommodating - I will certainly be coming back!

I have been to the Northampton and Lowell locations. They have both provided me consistently excellent service. Fair prices, discounts, and often free services when you are having other work done!

Best place for an oil change. I always schedule online the day before, get in and out in 30 minutes and the price is very competitive.

My brakes started screeching on the highway and needed to pull over immediately. Luckily Monro auto service was right on the exit. 30 minutes before they were due to close Carlos took me back to my car physically showed me the issues and took me step by step through the process of the repair. He ended up staying late to fix all of my issues. Carlos made my extremely stressful situation so much better. Honestly some of the best customer service I have ever experienced.

Been coming here for oil changes for many many years. best price and never had a problem. they never try to scare me into fixing problems they find with my car, if there is anything ever wrong with it they tell me about it and don’t exaggerate.

Made the switch from Town Fair Tires and very happy with my choice. No pressure or upselling. I felt I received an honest evaluation of the condition of my tires and the choice was mine on how to move forward. That was not the case at the nearby Town Fair Tires.

Great people who do excellent work at a very fair price. To find honest mechanics is not easy. I use them for all my repairs and maintenance.

No BS, they just fix your car, no offering to perform services you didnt come there for. Theres no coffee machine (Great Diner right next door, Blue Bonnet) but there is great service. Others reported a small waiting room...its not a huge shop, I wouldnt expect anything bigger, theres 6 chairs with a TV and a few magazines. I went in early on a Saturday morning with a broken exhaust knowing I was going to spend money on that and a few other repairs. They got me right in, assessed repairs and provided an estimate in 10 minutes of my arrival, non-stocking parts came quickly and the repairs were performed in a timely manner (no matter how much the rusted exhaust components fought them!). Like Arnold said, Ill be back!

I took my car in because every time I applied the breaks I heard a clicking sound. With time it got worse, so I finally brought it in. I was told I needed to have my rotors resurfaced; which I had them do. 6 months later the noise returned. I brought it in and they told me I needed new rotors and new brake pads. I was annoyed by this but had them do it anyways as I just wanted my care repaired. As soon as I picked up my car, I heard the noise right away!!! I brought it right back in and they said that the brake pads I needed were probably ones made by Toyota. I had to go, so I brought it in a few days later. They worked on the car and I left without any noise. A few weeks later, the noise returned.I finally took the car to the dealership and they discovered the break pads were installed improperly and that at least one piece was put in backwards.For a place that has brake in their name you would expect they to be able to properly install brake pads.

Needed my exhaust fixed for inspection. Got me right in within ten mins of being there 2 hours later my car was finished. Awesome staff and prices. Def the go to place. Very pleased.

So, I drove in with a bad alternator, honest to god 1:06 Hours later it was done, now it was a slow day and maybe I paid a bit more than what I could have gotten from one of those discounted parts stores but I am happy HANDS DOWN. oh, I live in RI I was just passing through when the alternator died on me. Yes, its a good place, no I probably will never go there again... but I am happy I did. (EDIT 2/21/2019 for clarity).

I just wanted to give a shout-out to Mike and the staff at Monroe.I was very skeptical about where to have our cars serviced. There was no pressures, or extra add-ons that I have experienced in most places on King St. There was one time, an electrical problem with my car, Mike couldnt fix it, and get this.... No charge! Really? Where did you ever see that? Thanks Guys!

This place always does right by my mother and I. Theyre straight forward, let you know what should be done soon and what actually needs to be done now, and doesnt charge the woman tax. Its all one price no matter who you are. I will always recommend them, especially to women.

I have used Monro for the past several years. Staff there are friendly, and the service is quick and cost effective. The one or two times I had an issue right after a repair, they would take me in immediately and fix it at no charge. When I price shopped for some more costly repairs, Monro’s prices could not be beat. I trust the work done.

My experience with this place was nothing short of amazing! The manager, Pete, is AWESOME! He answered all by questions, did not give me any run around, was patient with me (dealing with run around from another place), all around AMAZING!!!

Car was shaking and went to the shop to get a front end alignment thinking this would fix my problem. They informed me that it was probably just snow packed under my car throwing the weight of my tires off. They cleared the snow and did an oil change. They saved me $80 for a front end alignment where professional and polite.Absolutely loved this place and would highly recommend it.

Worst service I ever had. Tried to go in today (Sunday) for a new tire. Guy said he had only one guy (not my problem, plus there were three guys sitting down). Would rate this half a star if I could. Would never go there again.

I always go here to get my oil changed. Great service overall. Last time I was there they fixed the heat shield on my exhaust for free. It had been causing an annoying rattle for a while and I really appreciated them doing it!

Ive been going here to get my oil changed for about a year now, theyve always been very kind, attentive, and flexible. Would recommend this place!

Went in for a bad sound front left wheel on a tues. Came out with 3800 repairs needed but brakes said were okay. They did not hear sound i guess tho driving 10 feet from parked car to exit was audible. Called about it after. Was told guy gone for the day call wed. I did. He was out. Meanwhile ball joints were checked as bad but no notes. I called about this. I was told my eyes arent that great and i checked wrong box i came back on thurs asking for the sound to be addressed as thatvwas why i came in. They reput on the lift and then went back to saying ball joints are bad and yes a left brake or wheel issue. I didnt ask aboutnif i needed a new exhaust system. However they were correct about otjer things like motor mounts and more but since i was driving car and had a bad sound this was what i wanted to know about and i went 2 days later at the end of the day to a brake shopnwho on a simple test drive in the parking lot immediately said i have a brake issue . my visit left me totally confused and since they have so many great reviews, i chose to go there. I am sure they must do good work however main reason for going resolving issue stretcjed out an extra week because took three days to to clarify somewhat. The day inwent in and got brakes okayed but needed almost 4k work, plus the ball joint confusion back and forth i need i dont, then the 3rd day when i returned amd got a diff story on the brakes. After that i disnt want to fix it there and so it stretched into the next week

Once again they went above and beyond taking care of one of our cars! Great people. Take care of business and are open on the weekends!! No BS!

A+ for Monroe - mechanic I can trust 2 + hours away from Dad. A wonderful experience this morning. Its not too often that you go to a mechanic and they tell you there is nothing else wrong with your car. A went in for a burnt out tail light, wipers, and an oil change and thats all i left with ($60ish). Also note - oil changes are cheaper than Jiffy Lube :) I had been told by my dealership last oil change (too long ago) that I needed brakes and Monroe said that they were okay for now - and also told me my tires had too much air and fixed it for free. I asked how that could happen because I certainly havent put air in my tires - and they said it may have been wherever i got my last oilchange (The dealership!!!)

I always take my car here for oil changes, etc. They are kind, honest, and always fit me in last minute! Highly recommend.

Nice place, I went there for an exhaust leak and they were really upfront about the cost and didnt pressure me into getting it fixed unlike a lot of other places. Staff is helpful and this place is well worth a try.
