I am very pleased with how Chris Beaman handled everything from my initial inquiry about Subarus I was interested in to picking up my Subaru Forester this past weekend. Chris greeted me about a month ago at the door of Riverside, I was already pretty stressed about trying to find a car due to the current unconventional times we are in. But Chris was extremely patient and very knowledgeable. He explained that he was not here to push me in any direction when making a decision, he was simply here to provide me with as much information as possible and to allow me to test drive anything that I was interested in. And he explained if he had done both of those things then he had done his job. This whole experience was not what I had received at one of your competitors dealerships (Toyota to be exact...). It was quite the opposite and frankly pretty anxiety provoking. Therefore, I am so happy to have walked into Riverside that day in early July. Chris was so helpful and provided calmness and reassurance that Riverside would get me into the vehicle I wanted. And they did. Although it took several weeks, (which obviously was not Riversides fault) due to this headache of this crazy chip shortage, Chris still updated me to the best of his knowledge as to when my car may come off the truck. So this past Saturday, I arrived at the dealership and Chris had everything ready to go. I didnt have to wait for anything. In addition, Zack in the finance office helped me go over my lease agreement. He was also extremely kind and knowledgeable. I am thankful for all of Riversides team for this easy experience.

Hate to do this as this is out of character for me, but the service department of Riverside Subaru provides, by a mile, the worst customer service of ANY company I have ever dealt with. Ever. In any industry. Ill leave it at that. Avoid.Full disclosure, Alan and Bill in sales were outstanding...in sharp, polar-opposite contrast to the service department.Edit: It took a bad Google review to prompt a callback from the service manager 16 minutes later, after having not had a callback from 6 left messages over the past 9 days trying to set up a recall/maintenance appointment.

We had a very positive experience at Riverside Subaru. The sales person was polite and willing to work with us to find the color and model car we wanted. They delivered us a car within 1 week of agreeing to purchase. We had excellent help with our orientation to the car when we picked it up. The Finance person was new to his position (we were his second customer), but did an excellent job answering our questions or finding out answers if he did not know them.Plan to spend several hours when you pick up your vehicle as there are several people you have to meet with to get the paperwork completed. We did not anticipate so many steps and how much time each would take. We were also a little surprised that you have to waive your right to a court hearing (you have to agree to arbitration only) if you potentially need a dispute settled with the dealership. We have not bought a car with financing in a long time so maybe we were a little out of touch.We have only had the vehicle for 1 month and love being the owner of a Subaru Ascent. Pleased that they called back to make amends.The check-in guy seemed very nice but I feel like the technicians are not paying attention to their job. When I got home to check on the hood they had not topped off the fluids and before I left I had to remind them to put a oil change sticker in the window for the next time. We needed a full service done before a road trip to Colorado this week now Im going to have to deal with the fluids myself. When I called back they offered to do the fluids but we live 20 minutes away and that was the reason I brought it in to get it all done earlier today. I hope they really rotated the tires and checked the pressures!

The service manager Christopher Harker, was able to squeeze me in for a last minute inspection. He was super helpful and was able to get me in and out quickly while pointing out some safety issues and got me handled without hesitation and back on the road in a super timely manner, while juggling other customers and his employees. I highly recommend getting you’re service completed at this location with an honest and helpful staff.

I was very excited to buy my first Subaru but unfortunately I choose the wrong place to start. The staff changed the price of my trade in even though I informed them of the damage prior to showing up. The vehicle was not ready and I would of had to come back or get a driver to ferry it back and forth even though I was told it would be ready when I showed up for a scheduled appointment. I drove out of my way for an agreed product and time and was let down on both. To top it all off, after I voiced my concern of feeling cheated and pulled around in circles, the staff to include the management was extremely rude to me and my wife as if their communication error was our fault. I just wanted to buy a car and wasn’t expecting any special treatment or some extraordinary deal. The bottom line is I was treated very disrespectfully, I was lied to, and my time was wasted.-I would recommend going with cross creek Subaru in Fayetteville. Better prices, more professional staff and they deliver.

But I have never had a better experience than I did with Riverside Subaru, and specifically with Nick in sales and Ryan in finance.Nick was so friendly and patient and knowledgeable. I have had two experiences with Riverside Subaru in New Bern.The first was when I picked up my new Subaru Impreza company car. I had an appointment, and the sales manager couldnt leave his desk to check out my car. I was passed off to four different sales associates before one gave me a brief overview. When I left, I found the ride rough and noisy. I found the tire pressure was around 45 psi instead of the recommended 32. I corrected it and it was better. I have been getting company cars about every two years for 30 years and this was the worst delivery by far.My new car had a couple issues, so I called to make an appointment to have them repaired. After four attempts with the receptionist forwarding my car to the service department, them not answering, leaving a message and them not calling back, I went by the service department to set up an appointment. They were nice and efficient in person, just horrible phone policy. Once my car was in for service, I received no phone updates, and after a couple days, had to go by again due to no phone response. I was promised a call the next morning when they would have needed parts and could get them installed. This afternoon, as I am preparing to depart on a trip, I tried calling again and no response. My neighbor had similar experience with Riverside with their Subaru. I cannot emphasize to not do business with these people enough. Hopefully I will find something out someday.

My wife & I live in Wilmington, NC. We wanted a Subaru Forester, Touring model, in a specific color. Our local dealership was unable to locate what we wanted. So we contacted Riverside Subaru in New Bern, NC. We were told on the phone that Riverside could deliver exactly what we wanted - and the dealership came through as promised, including delivery of the Forester to our doorstep, saving us about 180 miles of driving to New Bern and back. Riverside gave us a very fair trade-in and a good price on the Forester. We are extremely pleased with the service and product we received and we give an A+ to Riverside in general and Tyler, in particular - the Riverside associate who worked with us to make the deal work remotely.

My car was repaired at another shop and a 4 wheel alignment was done incorrectly. I brought it to Riverside Subaru and had it repaired and aligned. I had to replace two of my brand new tires for the new alignment, because the new rear tires wore severely in the inner tires. Now my tires are worn again inside and the rest of the tires have a lot of tread. The Subaru manager said there is no warranty for the tires wearing uneven, with the same wear issues as when I brought them my car to be fixed originally. Also, no warranty on the alignment either. I hope they will work with me to fix it correctly this time and work with me to get some warranty on my tires. It didnt sound like they will take responsibility for the misalignment and wear of the tires wearing unevenly. I will give another review after I take it back to the Riverside Subaru.

I drive two hours away from my home to service my Subaru at Riverside of New Bern. Why? In support of helping smaller rural businesses versus taking my car to a Subaru dealer in Raleigh-Durham, where I have resided for the last twenty years. I drove directly to my familys home (5 miles) after leaving the Riverside. I took my car in for a simple tasks; (oil change/filter/rotated my tires and asked them if they could please fill my windshield wiper fluid for me. After I arrived at my familys home. I immediately checked my tire pressures less than 28 psi for all four tires, windshield fluid level - same as when I dropped it off, filter change is questionable. It leaves one to wonder if they even changed my oil or rotate my tires ??? It certainly has left a bad taste in my mouth. To date upon paying for my services I asked the staff at the checkout to please email me my invoice/receipt to my email address that is on file. Today, January 7th I have not received an email (invoice/receipt).

This was the best car buying experience I have ever encountered. When buying a car we like to be informed prior to going just in case we are paired with a pushy salesman (or woman). Ivan Solares greeted us with respect, heard our demands and concerns first before Ever interjecting. We told him which vehicle we wanted to test drive, that we knew a great deal about it and he quickly got keys to head out on the road with us. Not once did he try to sway us to a different vehicle or push the very best of the best. He explained some features as we brought them up and informed us on the ones we didn’t know existed. He even tested the safety features on our vehicle which was quite impressive. The Was deal made, paperwork signed, and 15 minutes after closing Ivan stayed with us to help with any last minute adjustments all whilst having a positive caring attitude the entire way! We were leasing a 2017 Subaru Forester and we were going way over our maximum mileage. We had driven if from San Diego to North Carolina due to a PCS. Thankfully, we found Jason at Riverside Subaru. After talking about trading up to a 2020 Forester on a new lease, my wife and I decided we wanted by to buy. We went in and ran the numbers and I was shocked at how much they undersold the competition. We walked away and went to Toyota to look at some RAV4s and they were no match to the quality we found in the Subaru. Honestly, I am in awe of how great a deal we got. This car is amazing and has so many features -the eyesight steers the car on cruise control, Apple play and navigation... the list goes on - not to mention, its stunning. We went with the dark gray exterior and black interior. Its a premium and came with more amenities than I could have hoped for. Including a fully stocked cargo hold and rubber floor mats for every compartment. We couldnt be happier with our purchase. Thank you Jason and thank you Subaru. We will be customers for life!

Our rep was very nice and gave us all the information we wanted on the cars we got to look at. However the car we were most interested in, wasn’t at there for them to show. Our rep informed us that the owners mother had taken it for whatever reason and she wouldn’t be returning it for a while. He said he’d call and try to get it on Monday for us to see but that failed to happen. This is simply not the way to run a business. We are very disappointed.

This place is great! I trust Riverside Subaru so much that I’ve taken all of my vehicles here for servicing, Subaru or not. The mechanics are knowledgeable and hard working, but more importantly the service advisor there, Chris Harker, is what makes this shop shine. Chris always has a positive attitude and a genuine concern about my needs when I visit the shop. He is honest, friendly, and professional. Chris makes sure to keep me updated while me vehicles are being worked on and even reminds me about oil changes! I would recommend this shop to anybody that cares about their vehicle. The folks at Riverside (sales, service, parts) are always friendly, courteous, prompt, and reliable. Service advisers are knowledgeable and very helpful. The work is always done capably and promptly (even when Ive come in with a sudden problem theyve fit me in and taken care of the issue). Whats not to like? And the cars are great.

I had an absolutely incredible experience at Riverside Subaru! I actually traveled about an hour from a town that had its own Subaru dealership to come here because the friendliness, service, and amazing offer just couldnt be beat locally. Rainy Day and the GM Bill Henderson were both absolutely wonderful - they worked with me extensively via email and over the phone so I knew exactly what I was walking in to when I arrived in New Bern. They were respectful of my budget and worked with me to give me the best deal possible - I am over the moon about my 2019 Outback! I am so glad I made the decision to shop at Riverside Subaru and will continue to recommend this dealership highly - theres no place I would rather have purchased my vehicle. We purchased our 2020 Subaru Outback from Riverside Subaru in New Bern, NC. Our 2019 Subaru Outback was totaled in a terrible car accident on Valentines Day of 2020. If not for the safety features of the 2019 Subaru I would have been planning my Wife & 10 year old Grandsons funerals. Thank you Subaru. I drove 68 miles to buy both the 2019 & 2020 Outback from Riverside. The other dealership near and in-between could not beat Riverside price or their superb and sincere customer service.

An excellent place to buy your next Subaru! Went in after doing a lot of research, prepared to negotiate a fair price on a new Ascent. Worked with Brock to select the vehicle and options, then waited for Bill, the sales manager, to run the numbers. I was prepared for a low-ball offer on my trade and MSRP for the new Subaru (like what I experienced at Toyota of New Bern - ugh!). Surprise! The first offer was exactly what I thought was fair - no negotiation needed! Waited a week for delivery and installation of accessories. Drove away today after the smoothest new car transaction that I’ve ever experienced. I highly recommend Riverside Subaru and my sales rep Brock Murray!

The service department at Riverside is consistently excellent. My latest incident was a roadside emergency - they made room for me and I was on the road an hour later. One of the nicest features of this service department is no up-sell! However, if the parts are worn or Subaru suggests maintenance, it is discussed with you first, there is never a surprise. As an added bonus, as a veteran your bill is discounted ten percent.

This is for the Subaru Maintenance department only. I’ve gone here for scheduled maintenance and a new set of tires. For the scheduled maintenance it is always done in a timely manner and the front desk people are always kind and easy to work with. My scheduled maintenance is supposed to cover a car wash and a top off of all fluids. At this location, unlike others I have dealt with, I have to remind them every time. I would appreciate that being done with out a reminder since I’m paying for it. For the tires, they had a competitive price (better than online) and install was very reasonable. So far so good on the tires. If you are looking for tires I recommend calling them because the pricing on their site is not correct and more expensive than you will actually pay.

My husband had been looking for a new vehicle for about a month and found a Subaru Outback that he was interested in at this dealership. Renee reached out to him to schedule a test drive, which we did given the current pandemic situation. Upon arrival the car was unfortunately located at a different lot so while I waited I politely asked to use the restroom. I was horrified when I walked into the dirty bathroom and then had no hand soap to wash my hands properly upon exiting, thankfully I had brought my own hand sanitizer and wipes. I then went to test drive the car which was dirty which I understand it had been sitting for 6 months but the lot knew we were coming not once but twice for scheduled test drives. We purchased the car and took it home dirty. We were offered to bring it back on Monday but we live an hour away and we’re trying to make just one trip to pick up plates, complete promised repairs (horn) and replacement key at dealer cost, and detailing. We were offered a vehicle to use when we do bring it back for the above, we are still waiting to hear when this will be completed.
