The 99 cents store is one of my favorite places to shop. The store has so many amazing bargains. The store name should be 99 cents and more.. You will find school supplies, small home decor items and so much more.

Another amazing 99 cent store!! I really like how they have them all organized and they keep it that way. The stores are always clean and there is always so much to choose from. The lines are go fast and the staff are friendly!

Went in and bought my onions and came out with a big beautiful cauliflower, bananas, raspberries and potatoes. Cant beat the prices if you are on a budget. I will keep coming back.

Nice clean store and for the most part its fairly organized. The employees are nice as well. I would have given more stars but every time you go there are always long lines and only 2, maybe 3 (if youre lucky) registers open, so do prepare yourself for a long wait st the checkout.

It was a pleasant time in the store, store was well stocked, look good, had some very nice garden things that I purchased, cashier was very nice, all in all..... IT WAS GREAT!

Improve pricing for items that are not 99 cents. There are many items that are not 99 cents and this store does a poor job of marking them so buyers end up adding those items to their cart, assuming those items are 99 cents but to their surprise the item shows up as $1.49, $1.99 or $2.99 when they get home and check their receipt. It is the stores responsibility to accurately label those items easily so that customers can make a correct choice before adding the item to their cart. I brougt this problem to one of the managers and they start by pointing fingers or trying to blame me by saying that if the box was large then it I should assume its not 99 cents or if the item did not say 99 cents on the shelf then its not 99 cents, I responded by saying “No, all items in your store are 99 cents unless they are labeled otherwise or if they are placed in a sale display with an accurate $1.99 - $2.99 or more...and just one example is Bimbo who occasionally throw their higher price bread items on the 99 cent shelf with no label stating its over 99 cents”....So management be accurate dont blame corporate and accept responsibility...(no fee for my analysis)RESPONSE : ( In regards to your response, I am not dissapointed about the value or the prices, I made a suggestion about taking more responsibility on being accurate and marking items that are not 99 cents, since it is making it easy for buyers to accidently purchase those items and feel dissappointed when they catch the mistake at home if they ever review their receipt...I will continue to shop there because I like the value and my suggestion is a benefit also for the store to restore confidence)

I went to the one on McHenry for the first time, its bigger I think than the one on Hatch rd that I always go to...but they didnt have any of the coupons that I have been getting. If you have one and you spend more than 50 dollars you get 9 dollars off!!

I was walking in and right infront of me 2 female workers, stopped a liftshopper. It was a young guy. But daeng let me tell you really no customer care right infront of the door. They almost hit me.

Large selection. The store itself couldve been cleaner. Was hard to find prices on items because they werent in the spot they belonged. Staff was nice and helpful. Everyone seemed to be working on something.

Always find at good deal on this 99 cent store to day I find one bag of wild salmon for $3.99 and salad bag for #$1.99 each the store is clean and employer are very helpful and friendly 👌.

They have more items over 99 cents than 99 cent items. You really have to pay attention to the prices.

Way too easy to spend a lot of money as I always do when I come here to shop, prices are too good to pass up especially on the candy aisle :) todays total $108.46 yeah I love my candy!

I was blessed this morning someone paid for my grocery and Im so thankful.

The employees her were very helpful, & this store has a little bit of everything!

I like this dollar store even though it offers some products for a little more than a dollar. I think that over all they carry nice items. The people that work their are really nice. The restrooms have locks and the store personal are attentive to letting customers in the restrooms. The store also has a lot of produce, and random home decor stuff.

Amazing produce today. Each store varies with what they carry. Im elated to find soy sprouts. The vegetables were bright green & fresh looking. Even the blueberries were a great price. Only 1 problem... not enough checkers around 1215p on Friday. 3 checkers & the lines were back to the freezer doors. I dont understand why they couldnt have opened up more registers. Older seniors were tired of waiting me included.

I Love, Love the 99 Cents Store, although they started showing stuff at $1.99, and 2- and 3- and even more. They also have great frozen and refrigerated stuff, and a Lot of fresh produce. Always new stuff and always fun. (I think I like Dollar Tree a little more. And a few doors down, while were having our apartment being Re-done.)

Well its not really a 99 cent store anymore But its still has great buys. They need to price the items that are not $.99 cents so that you know that it is more.

Its got a lot of American made products for sale for 99 cents. Lol. Its a great place to shop.

Its good place to come for all family. Has good amount of goodies for almost every event. Just really check expiration dates in case you buy vegetables or frozen foods.

I go for the surprise amazing finds. This store is usually really hot. Poorly air conditioned and messy. I understand staff deal with a lot of crappy customers but they are very rarely friendly or helpful. Really only go here for prices.

Great products, great pricing. Food and produce at this location is much fresher, better organized and better stocked than any of the other 99 Cent Stores Ive visited. However, this location has a real homeless problem and never seems to have enough cashiers. Theres often not enough space near the registers to support the size of the lines. For the prices and the general quality of their food products, its worth the dealing with those negative marks. This place is great.

Great deals, sometimes they have really great grocery/cosmetic items that are priced WAY lower than regular stores. Every now and then theyll get salon quality hair products in which are great to stock up on. Always check the cold case and use mobile shopping apps to compare prices and sizes of products to make sure youre getting a great deal. Cleaning stuff is indeed totally awesome and does a surprisingly good job for being so inexpensive. Stationary section has good deals too on certain things and also great bargains on kids toys a good amount of the time. The refried beans in a pouch are great, really do taste homemade and I recommend them to everyone. Clearance is hit or miss, and gets picked over fairly quickly. As does anything Disney branded and similar items once word gets out. Ask employees for restock dates so you can have the best chance to get first dibs

Good place for cheap produce, canned and jarred staples, dry beans and doggy treats. Also find some good organics occasionally. You can get the good cheeses, herbs, produce and things like olive oil elsewhere but I get the staples here.

Crowded. They need more cashiers to get people out faster.

Although it competes with Dollar Tree just one block away with a large overlap in products, visiting this store and the Dollar Tree in the same parking lot make this my favorite $1 store to visit.

I give this particular location three stars back in the day I would have given it four but I feel like they are raising their prices way too much Im starting to see items for $14.99 I thought they should have stopped at $7.99 I do agree that a lot of the items are worth $7.99 but going any higher than that especially up to $14.99 is just defeating the purpose of 99 Cent Only I really hope that they decide to stop at $14.99 or else its just going to become an average everyday store Ive noticed that some of the items that should be a dollar are now a $1.99 and $2.99 and it just makes me so mad the prices are what make 99 Cent Only so great so they should keep it that way if they want to keep their customers also this location has a lot of transients and I have nothing against them I just dont like being bombarded when I walk in the store for money or have to worry about them sitting out by my car, on a more positive note I will say that most of the items I see other people getting Im able to find at this location so thats a plus for this store.

Had everything I neededclean and friendly

Wide variety of excellent products. Ive purchased suppliments well before their exp date that cost $1 that right across the street at Sprouts would have cost $40-$50 multiple times. Inventory rotates, runs out never to return, but 90% of the store products are ALWAYS available. That 10% of crazy bargains is like a surprise party =^DOoh! Look what they have TODAY!

Absolutely disgusting in the parking lot and there are always homeless people out front begging for money or just loitering. Im not understanding why the store management doesnt do something about this. I go there for cleaning supplies and the cashiers are always extremely slow and that is an understatement, and theres usually only one cashier open until the lines get at least eight people deep and then maybe they might bring somebody else up.

The 99 Cents Store is not a luxury shopping experience but its not trying to be. Most people know what to expect from this experience and go because of the great values and good selection of products. I go there when Im not willing to spend more at other stores.

The 99 cent store is a good place to get snacks. But its also a good place to get cheap knock offs that break fast. You get what you paid for i guess.

I love this store its one of my favorites you get alot of bang for your buck.

Run down. Has a lit of good items though. Store definitely needs a face lift! Floors are VERY dirty. They sell food items so it makes it kind of gross to buy them knowing the store is not well kept.

Nice place it has great selection of everything the lines are not to long i guess most of the employees are ok but go in the daytime alottt of homeless hanging around and nobody cares it gets a little intimidating

This McHenry store is much smaller than the one on Hatch Road. Nonetheless, this 99 cents only store is the best one within 30 miles radius.Customer service is great. Quality of produce and products are amazing. Prices are unbeatable. If you are a vegetarian, you could find great deals too. Ive gotten expensive deli meats, blackberries, strawberries, cranberries and even cherries at the 99 cents only store.Below are some things I was able to buy at the 99 cents only store: clog shoes, name brand energy drinks, vintage signs, laughing cow cheese, nutella, big containers of yogurt, lunchables for adults, pants, t-shirts and many more.If you are looking to save money, this is the place to shop!

Customers were pushy. Not so clean of a store. Cashier was nice. Too bad it is no longer the 99cent store any more. Items are misspriced. You pick them up thinking they are 99cents - get checked out and then when you are home you discover the item was 2.99 or 1.99 even 4.99. Fooled ya...

This place is great with little finds and produce. I could spend an hour perusing the isles. Unfortunately, you will spend an hour in line as there are normally only one or two lanes open and lines of 6 or more people long.

I can almost always find what I need. Sometimes theres long lines but you have to expect it when ALMOST everything is only a dollar. Prices at the 99¢ ONLY store is not only 99¢. Prices range from 99¢ to $9.99. CRAZY. They should definitely change the name.

Cheerful employees lots of items, go in for one thing come out with lots of others. Worth the trip!

A good place to shop. I would buy similar items at other stores like grocerys and baby wipes. The out come at other stores would be 3xs the amount of cash out of my pocket. Due to the economy being how it is this is the place to shop when on a budget.

Rude manager (Mexican woman) long, slow check out lines. Never any carts, ( theyre always in the parking lot ) the people that work there act like its such a big problem to help you. The only reason I go there is because they have a few products I get. Dont expect them to be helpful or nice when/if you go there. Its really to bad but I guess you cant expect to much out of people these days.😩👎

I have been shopping at this location for over 5yrs. Through those 5yrs I have seen this place fall apart do to the fact of the ft, rude employees, and sorry management. Tonight 4-29-2018 takes the cake, I literally witnessed over 5 people in Braud day light stealing items in front of employees, and no one was doing anything about it, I even approached an employee, and told her people are stealing shelooked, and she replied we cant afford security. but in the back of my mind Im thinking that its so obvious the employees are in on this.. anyone who reads this go the 99 cent store on McHenry between 7 and closing time. Or even during the he day. This used to be a wonderful store to shop at, but Mark my words 2yrs from now this place will be closed down. So sad.

Love this store. Ghetto looking and there r usually homeless people outside. That being said they never bother anyone and there are always security guards.

Big, clean 99 Cents Only Store. Usually have a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. There is a need for more cashiers when the checkout lines are long.

While in this store I went to the bathroom with my little girl and an employee came in and used the bathroom and left without washing her hands. I notified a manager and hope that he explains the law on hand washing and how that spreads germs. Not good at all especially cause they were stocking food.

I love all the treasures you find there. I go at least once a week. Not everything is $.99 tho

It was not a good visit. Their wagons dont work properly. It took me about three wagons before I found one that works and the front of the store is very dirty ☹
