Wish this place was not closing.... They are amazing!

I feel like I’m being generous with this, because the Ham and Cheese was good. The employees both forgot to put in my order for my drink. My boyfriend and I are out of town and needed to get on the road quickly, as we had a long drive ahead of us. We waited 40+ minutes for two drinks and two sandwiches. When the barista asked if I was waiting for anything, and I told her, she said she would make my drink right away, and made someone else’s drink first. Frustrating

Best coffee Ive had in MissoulaEdit: Wow, gotta take 2 stars back. The employee seemed a bit salty from the get go. They made my order wrong, then reluctantly remade it wrong again. I know times are tough but maybe its time to lose the masks, its making people at least appear aloof. Also, these coffee places around town are becoming too expectant on tips. Gratuity is a reward for good service, not an incentive; certainly not a requirement. Management should implement a different system so customers can feel welcome to give tips, not obligated.

Great coffee and great customer service!! I wanted a mocha. However, being vegan, I asked if their chocolate had milk and the barista kindly informed me they make their mocha mix and there is milk in it. 👏 Grateful for the information and kindness! I ordered a delicious latte.

Lunch with my Momma was wonderful! Everything was made fresh. Good service! Will be back in on my next visit!

The cashiers are antisocial, the opposite of what a customer service person should be, like youre bothering them when you want to order. They also dont leave tips to you. If youre not looking for it, it isnt uncommon for the entitled cashier to set his sale with a tip for himself. That isnt how tips work. Just look out for it and undo what he does. Taking a latte order doesnt call for automatic gratuity 🤦 Having a personality would definitely help in the tip arena.Edit: @Zen I work in fast food. I know how entitled people can get. I dont deserve a tip because I fill out an order. I am grateful when someone gives me a tip. The cashier purposely does it and is hoping the customer doesnt notice. Those tablets arent automatically set that way. Dont be disingenuous.

Good coffee

I usually love coming here to get a small bite and some delicious chai, but their ham & cheddar was kind of dry this time around. It was like biting into two slices of toasted bread (they were out of croissants, which I can understand). As much as I tried to taste anything, I couldnt really savor the ham and cheddar. Kind of bummed out as a result...

The coffee is fantastic, the staff is VERY attractive and helpful - manager is competent, involved and effortlessly funny without pushing it. The food is top tier and prepared enthusiastically. I wish it could be open 24 hours.

Breakfast and brunch here are great! . And I seriously love their coffee. However, I have never been impressed by their dinner. Its like they try too hard to be fancy and complex with their dishes. Sometimes simple is better. They are often smaller portions as well so you often go hunger or spend lots of money. Ive gone here many nights over the years (I grew up in Missoula) and Ive never come away super happy with dinner.

Excellent coffee and staff. Ive been coming to the mall location for years. Disregard all the negative reviews about the tip bar and rude staff. Clearly these people cant pull their heads out of their entitled behinds for two seconds as there is a sliding tip bar at the top of where your signature is required, its self explanatory and its the same system where a tablet is used.. Anywhere. This place is plagued by entitled customers who treat the staff like garbage and then leave just as entitled reviews. Definitely check this place out if youre in the area, best espresso in Missoula.

An offshoot of the main restaurant, this Caffe Dolce is the nicest, and certainly one of the prettiest, venues in the mall. Next to the clock tower and taking up a good chunk of the central area for seating, the venue is crowded but available. The plates and silverware that line the walls, including an inner shop, are bold enough that one might think this were a kitchen store with a little food stand on the side.As for that food, its very high-quality and relatively authentic (especially for mall food) but is of course very pricey and you shouldnt expect fantastic service. Come here if you want a treat, but only if you have money and time to burn.

The food is delicious but the staff is terrible. I have never visited this place without witnessing every employee just standing around chatting for 5 to 7 minutes before they decide its convenient for them to start preparing your order.The automatic tip bar at the top of their tablet is extremely misleading as well as many other reviewers have pointed out. I hope they make some staffing changes because with the right team this place would flourish.

Busy spot in Southgate mall. I have eaten there many times over the years. Food prepared to order, wonderful soups, quisch, sandwiches and fresh baked pastries. Ordering line some times is slow, but they deliver the food to your table. Great spot to people watch.

My coworkers and used to go here all the time. The service is horrible. The employees eat while working on your food. They do not want to help you or stop their conversations. The food has gotten bad. I had some soup and it had too much salt and tasted disgusting. The coffee takes 20 min and is not good. There are far better places in the mall to eat and get coffee.

A great place to get lunch & coffee... except the staff in the back was playing THE WORST heavy metal at at least 70 DB....It nearly ruined the pleasant atmosphere....the staff are nice kids but.....The inmates are running the asylum....they did turn the trash down after we asked them to..other than the fact that they need a real manager then LL will be right.

Killing some time this morning in the mall and thought Id try this cafe. The 2 girls working seemed bothered to have to stop their conversation and work. Pastry display case has very little selection and it all looks dried up and theres flies in the case. The mocha has hardly any flavor. Definitely wont ever be back to cafe dolce.

Ordered a 16 oz iced latte, received a 12 oz latte. Upon paying, I realized the ipad was set to a 15% gratuity automatically, which I didnt notice until I hit the paid button. I just figured I would pay better attention next time. Received my order and it was a 12 oz, not the 16 oz I had ordered. I asked the barista if this was a 12 oz because I had ordered a 16 to which she snottily replied I specifically heard you order a 12 oz latte!! to which I promptly lost any desire to drink anything from their establishment. My husband and I left our coffee drinks at the counter and went to Luckys supermarket where we got the right drinks and better customer service.

No eye contact. The dude didnt even greet us. And he purposely selected a fifteen percent tip on his touch pad before handing it over to us to sign.Im fine with tipping, but there was zero service. All you did was touch your pad three times.Like dude, its fine to not be in a great mood or have social anxiety or whatever. I get it. But dont try to sneak tips from us.

Never a fan of pretences and airs, this old gas station turned into an over priced eatery for the bougie hopefuls is yet another one of those things that preys upon the ignorance of the recent influx of people who came to Montana keen on turning it into the craphole they came from. Cafe Dolce? Really? I guess its a step up from all the places that have tables and chairs set out on some of the main drags where your meal is salted with dust, exhaust, and other cancer causing particulates, but thats about the best that can be said. Its one of those places that manages to gouge their patrons and staff all at the same time, while Im sure the owners claim to be liberals. I guess I should be grateful their isnt a gas station in the middle of town anymore, but at least it wasnt a lie.

I waited for my food for 20 minutes. While waiting I saw someone order their food and get it before we did.

Great food. Rude male workers. The guy that rang us up acted like he didnt want to be there, which I get, it was busy, but his expression towards us was like we shouldnt be there either. Then he was all smiles towards the group of girls behind me and my girlfriend. When the two girls behind us got their food first I went up to make sure they hadnt given them our food. The other guy making my sandwich said I still need to finish your order if thats a possibility. I realize I shouldnt have assumed they got the orders mixed up but there is no need for a worker in that position to be so rude. I work in retail and that would never fly if I acted like that toward a paying customer. I will not be ordering from there if the guy with glasses, a mustache, and several tattoos is behind the counter.

Caffe dolce is normally quite good. It was a busy day in the mall but it did not validate the poor service. I was in line for over 10 minutes. The young man at the register was friendly albeit very innefficient. The rest of the staff seemed to not care about the speed of service. Once I got up to order, I ordered my cup of soup to go 3 times. It took about 3 or 4 minutes for them to get it. Out of to go lids. I paid and left a follar tip which they didnt deserve. I have worked in the food service industry for 4 years as a server and otherwise. To add insult to injury I looked through my little cup of soup to find no chicken and hardly any vegetables. I paid $3.75 for broth and bread. Very unimpressed. Hire some staff with hustle and sense of direction.

I emailed caffe dolce on Sunday after a not so wonderful dining experience and i have heard a word back.... it’s Wednesday. When a restaurant is busy and under staffed I am extremely understanding. This was not the case this past Sunday. My daughter was handed a Sprite which was not only sticky but dirty. I had ordered soup with my sandwich which was given to me cold. When the sandwiches were delivered to our table i had asked the waitress if she had napkins as they were out by the table with forks, spoons, knives and water. She sighed pointed at the bar and said, “get them from up there” Both our sandwiches were burnt and the tomato on my sandwich was cut so thick i couldn’t even eat it. When we left the garbage was heeping full making it hard to dispose of our trash. I usually don’t leave bad reviews but this is the 3rd time we have received less then ideal service at a pricey caffe. I know you guys can do better. You have done better in the past. I will not be eating at the Mall location.

Every time I get a latte here they mess it up it is either the wrong size or they forgot the flavoring. I don’t understand how hard it is to pay attention. If I were this incompetent at my job I would have been hired a long time ago.

Great coffee and a variety of good food

I had high expectations of this place but was kinda disappointed. I ordered a lamb burger and an iced latte. The lamb burger patty was very undercooked, looking raw in the middle. The bill came to $25 (including a modest tip) which seemed expensive to me. They forgot to bring me my latte (and it was smaller than I expected) so I had to find some help to ask about it.On the plus side the building was really cool looking and had a nice vibe inside. For sure Ill try this place again in the future and hope my negative experience was an anomaly.

The prices at Caffe Dolce will surprise you, especially for a Mall Caffe! Excellent food, ice cream, coffee & specialty teas.

Best lunch spot!!With a large selection of toasted sandwiches and pastries, Caffè Dolce has a perfect central location in Southgate Mall. Round it out with a scoop or two of fresh gelato and your day is sure to get better.

Very good for lunch if you are at the mall, the chop, chop salad is delicious but the prices are expensive.

Just tried it tonight and received rude service. Wanted gelato and thought we had to order at the register, but was rudely corrected. No signs indicated where the proper place was to order. After being rung up the cashier referred to us as rude and accused us of cutting in front of other people. Making an honest mistake and getting belittled for it... Not going here again.

The coffee service is horrible, they lose drinks forget drinks and by the time you have eaten your food you still have to wait another 10 minutes for your coffee. The last 7 times one of these has happened to me. I even waited for the coffee to drink with my food and my food was cold because they forgot to make it. mentioning this to a manager does not help either as they do not seem to care.

Love the coffee. Oh, and the extra shot is a must.

I found a matcha latte so I asked for it, and a matcha latte without sugar came out. If you add sugar yourself, it will be delicious. You can enjoy gelato and snacks as well as coffee and muffins as a cafe.
