Ive been back issue diving for reader copies of books during the pandemic, and this was a great place to fill in some gaps. PULP has an entire wall lined with $1 comics that are a mix of current overstock and older comics, including some bronze age goodies. AND they are alphabetized, at least by first letter. Also had a good amount of reasonably priced regular back issues, plus new comics and trades. I found them while traveling near the area and am so glad I stopped. Super friendly staff, super clean, organized, and welcoming store. Would love to have PULP as my weekly LCS!

Wow, what a fantastic comic shop and a very helpful owner and employee... Im absolutely impressed!!!Having recently been encouraged by a fellow writer friend to get into comics, I decided to see what Mankato might offer, if anything.OMG! Well, lucky me, I found the best comic shop ever on my first outing... now I want to stay a few more days just so I can come back and load up my carry-on luggage.Congratulations to the owners for having such an impressive business and for being so knowledgeable!👍👍👍👍👍

Awesome shop with wonderful customer service. They have a great selection of comic books and collectables for a variety of budgets. My four year old came with his first birthday money to make his first purchase, and not only did he find a Batmobile, staff members took the time to find an affordable Batman to go inside!

My boyfriend and I are Mankato transplants attending MSU. We were in search of an awesome Comic store to support in the area, and Pulp has been above and beyond that. The customer service is always 10/10. Employees and the owner are so super friendly and helpful at finding what we are looking for. Prices are super reasonable, and I can always find a gift for just about anywhere here. Their loyalty program is awesome and keeps us coming back. This is by far one of my favorite comic stores I’ve ever been in, and I’m so grateful that it’s so close to home. The dollar book section in the back is the absolute best, and there are always plenty of gems to find. We love you Pulp!! :)

Not too thrilled to bring a stack of Magic cards in for trade, only to be told by the kid behind the counter that i dont know much about Magic and wasnt able to get help. Maybe make sure all your employees are versed enough in everything you sell so they can help anybody. Not sure Ill waste any more time with your business after today

Double Play moved to this space not long ago and I have to say, I find it impressive. Spacious, good organization and inventory, along with a very helpful staff. Also a lot of space for gamers. (I am not one, but it is there!)It is clear this is a space for people that are passionate about comics and gaming....BY people that are passionate about this as well.

Great service, friendly people. Excellent selection of comics, tabletop/board games, tabletop gaming accessories (minis, dice, sleeves, boxes, playmats, etc), and other nerd things. (Self-proclaimed nerd here.) If they dont have it, they can probably order it if its typically available at your local game store.Perfect environment for pre-release events. Plenty of space, snacks available for purchase, and the toxic environment that is sometimes present at events like these is non-existent in my experience. As a female nerd, sometimes it can be tough to feel accepted in these crowds since Im often the only girl. Ive never felt that way in this store under this ownership. Ladies, if youve been wanting to play Magic or D&D, this is the place to try it out. Everyone is really helpful and friendly.

This store is great for comics and games. Their selection of back issue comics is decent, and they do a good job stocking new comics. Im not a Magic player but they always have events going on. Staff is very friendly, but everyone their seems to be more focused on Magic over comics.

Double Plays most recent location is hands down the best theyve ever had. Most notable the dramatic increase in size. The building itself is super cool, and it just really nice to have room to grow. Having a separate play area from merchandise is also nice. I always have a little awkward perusing mini figures and going around tables of players deep in a dungeon they totally are going to die in.The staff are always cool too. Super knowledgeable, at least knowing enough to get me in the right direction.If you ever have time to kill this is an awesome place to do it. You never know when you might find something new that you fall in love with.

Im a sports card collector, and to find a local store that sells penny sleeves and top loaders is fantastic! Their prices are terrific, and the people working there are wonderful! I will definitely be back.

Awesome atmosphere. Not a huge selection of product. But, they stay up to date. They have a large area for playing. The allow you to order and eat food at the location. They have a buy 5 packs get the 6th one free special too!

I’m personal friends with the store owners. This is a great store if your looking for comics of almost any kind. They have a buy 2 get one free comic special. Some of the comics only cost 2$. They have a huge variety of cards for any player or collector.

Nice little game and comic book store. If you like sports, they have some stuff for you there too, but they mostly focus on board games, tabletop RPGs, tabletop tactical games, card games, and of course, comic books.

An unusually friendly and helpful shop with a lot of Comics, collectible toys, Dungeons and Dragons figures/dice/manuals, popular board games, and CCG card-game collectibles.They currently have a lot of Magic players (most players favor Modern Format, but they have a Commander night and now a cheap Standard tourney on Thursdays that is casual/beginner friendly). Their prices on rare M:tG cards have proven better than anywhere else nearby, but their selection of premium cards on the wall goes up and down a lot in size.They sell bottled water and snacks for cheap, so they clearly care about player comfort.Their new location allows plenty of room for all the very big DnD groups. I think they might be so popular for this that you have to speak with them and plan well to get a slot on certain nights. They really have that many passionate players.Thursday Standard-format and Friday Night Magic (modern) have good chairs in a big room with good lighting. Though the spacing needs work, as it is hard to get in and out of the rows on crowded nights.Saturday is the board game group which never seems to be playing the same old game twice. They look like they could use more players, so if youre a bored nerdy college kid this place could be your haven.Friendly owner (I believe there are technically two, I could be wrong) whom I see looks out for the little guys/gals, but can geek-speak with the best of them. He plays tournaments himself.They are a GLBT friendly atmosphere from what Ive consistently seen.They are very open and clear about pricing for both buying and selling, so I think they are an honest place to sell large card collections to. I know they used to buy a lot of everything, but sports cards I have no idea on.
