Me and my son were heading from Mass. to Florida with a recently purchased diesel dually we were not familier with 2001 GMC sierra 3500 .Check engine light came on at 3 am and truck went into limp mode.We got of I-95 and got a room for the night, my son found hometown right nearby with great reviews.We limped it over first thing in the am,Shawn was gracious enough to check our problem right then,it was also freezing outside.Was determined to be clogged fuel filter.Shawns guy Malcomb replaced the filter rechecked pressures,we reconnected the 28 foot trailer for a second road test.All was working great,they even helped out with a shifter cable issue we were having until we could get the corrct dealer part back home.Thanks again for getting us Florida boys back home,I would recommend this facility to anyone in need.Thanks,againDoug

Shawn has taken great care of my 1999 7.3 Powerstroke despite a packed house! Excellent work at reasonable prices - I was excited to see his shop open here in Lorton, and he’s taken great care of me. While he does everything he can to bend over backwards for you, his shop stays busy given his reputation, so call ahead and he’ll get you squared away in no time!

STAY WAY FROM THIS SHOP!!I had a electrical issue with my truck and Shawn inspected my truck said electrical issue causes by starter so i bought and replace the starter spending ( $300 + 150 his inspect fee) after replacing it i still see the same issue.I call Shawn regardless of the wrong inspection he had done on my truck and make me spend more money, he said he cant come because he is busy and he work by himself. I took my truck to different shop and they said its issue with the alternator.

Hometown Auto is an excellent shop, highly recommend. I live in Reston and go to local places for oil changes, state safety inspections, etc. Whenever there is a recommendation for work from the local guys, I take it over to Hometown to #1 see if the work *actually* needs to be done and #2 to get it done correctly at a good price. With some mechanics you sometimes think you are being taken, never once has that thought crossed my mind when working with Hometown Auto.
