I absolutely recommend this place!!! This bakery was very special. Super friendly staff and such a great selection of unique muffins and doughnuts. We will definitely be back. Too many goodies to list.

This is an excellent place to stop (on a regular basis). Its a family owned and operated business with a great selection, top notch quality and very pleasant staff. Everything Ive tried there was delicious. I highly recommend this bakery to anyone.

Honestly my customer service experience with this bakery was great... I emailed asking about putting in an order for a gluten-free carrot cake 2 weeks ahead of time for my boyfriends birthday and the owner responded right away to ask me for my needs. She was quick to respond, and asked me lots of questions to make sure I got what I wanted. And I asked for minimal design because I had a cake topper I wanted to put on it. And the girl I picked up the cake from was so friendly! Unfortunately the gluten-free cake is one of the worst I’ve ever had... it’s a weird fudge like consistency. And I’m gluten-free so I’ve had a lot of gluten-free cakes, so I’m pretty relaxed when it comes to texture... but it was interesting? We couldn’t eat more than one slice. I’m sure their regular cakes are amazing, I just wouldn’t recommend getting a gluten-free cake. But again, lovely staff.

I love this place, your not paying a arm and a leg picking up fresh baked items!! Keep this place going everywhere, raspberry filled donuts are my fav.

I am SO glad this place is still going. The cheese pastries are quite literally the best thing you’ve ever had in your life, and all the staff is somehow (and I’m not sure how it’s scientifically possible) sweeter than all the delicious treats they have available. I’m stoked that this is now located next to the new retirement community, I am so jealous of all the grandkids that will go there with their grandparents and make such wonderful memories, as well as our lovely elders who have the best pastry shop in Washington a stone’s throw away from home!

Absolutely love Mountain Home - havent been there for a while (since they were next door to the Post Office), and they did not disappoint. Donuts and pastries are so much better at a local bakery.

We absolutely love this little bakery! Such sweet staff, amazing treats and amazing prices. They also have better tasting donuts than MOST of the shops around here, including chains. Definitely our favorite bakery around this area.

This bakery has the BEST donuts and pastries. Their pretzel donut is light and flaky and the light orange glaze is perfection. Nothing is over frosted like some places and their variety for a small bakery is amazing. Best time is early in the morning for best selection. By 9am, there is still a decent selection but they go fast!

I had an amazing customer service experience with Mountain Home Bakery. The staff were super friendly and really worked hard to go the extra mile to help make my daughters birthday special. They really listened to me and were patient as I tried to articulate my vision of what I was aiming for the photo cake to look like and offered suggestions in the logistics of presentation with candles and delivery. The photo cake was literally perfect and all ordered from out of state (Oregon) in time for my daughters birthday far away from home. I definitely recommend Mountain Home Bakery!

Giant Pretzel shaped Glazed donut...Gone to this bakery since I was a kid, always loved it. Its local, and the staff is committed and always in a great mood. The item that sets this bakery apart for me is the giant pretzel shaped glazed donut, also their apple fritters are delicious ( but just like any youve seen before).

I hate to say but I was very disappointed. The cake wasn’t ready when it was supposed to be and there were typos in the lettering. Lastly, it was not very presentable.I ordered a custom cake for a military ceremony three days in advance. I gave them a physical copy and an electronic copy of the cake design I drew on a computer.The cake was supposed to be ready by 7:30am but it was not ready when I got there at 8:10am. I had to meet them at the gate when they were done which was 9:00am.I didn’t have time to see the cake until the reception and found typos. It was embarrassing. CPT turned to CTP and farewell became farwell.Lastly, the surface of the cake was very uneven. I could tell they were trying to re-write words on the cake.

I most definitely the lady who helped us was amazing and her 3 choices she surprise picked for us were absolutely delicious.

My complete and honest opinion. .. I love the fact that its a bakery.(not many around) We bought a dozen, some cinnamon rolls and sticky buns. The donuts are super soft as expected. Although they are soft they tasted like they are fried in reused oil. Could be cheap oil. I was disappointed... The cinnamon rolls and sticky tasted like homemade. Tasted exactly like the ones I make. The package that they came in wasnt the best of choice. Made them hard after being fresh. I would suggest finding a different container or putting them in or with a napkin on the bottom to hold a little moisture so it wont be so hard. Your product is being compromise and it has so much potential. The people who work here are awesome thats why the 4 stars and not 3.

Great donuts. Decent variety. Excellent customer service. I ordered an iced mocha, and the individual making it asked if I wanted a lot of chocolate or a little, which I was surprised as Ive never been asked that and I dont like them being too sweet so that was cool. 10/10 would go back again

Best bakery for cakes in town. I have also ordered specialty shaped cookies from them. They offer a wide variety of doughnuts, muffins, and bread. They are very friendly and helpful. They also sell cupcakes for a lower price than their competitors.

We had ordered a cake for my nieces 5th birthday party it was a 2 tier cake and gave the photo of what we wanted the cake to look like the baker I’m assuming she owns the place an older lady agreed that she will be able to do the cake. When we presented the photo of what we wanted. We told her we wanted, then the day before our party she gives us a call and says oh I don’t know what you wanted I don’t have the photo when we physically went to the bakery and she agreed that she could do it. We asked for butter cream she said ok no problem we get the cake it was Fondant the cake was lump sided because she obviously was rushing to get it done she agreed to have it ready by 9 am but that didn’t happen she called and said I can have it done by 2 pm when we literally paid and she guaranteed us to have it done. Very upsetting I definitely will not be doing any business with them no more take my word what a horrible experience.

I have had just the opposite experience with customer service. I called last week to order gluten free cinamon rolls that I have ordered for Christmas eve the last few years. This year has been a nightmare dealing with being put on hold, leaving voice mails that never got returned and just now dealing with an employee who didnt have a clue about gluten free! So sad. Our family has frequented this bakery for at least 20 years. No energy to deal with them anymore

I went there yesterday, 11- 7 - 2020. A guy without a face mask entered the store just ahead of me. The person at the registrar helped him and when he left i asked the girl if they always served people without face mask. She procededed to lie to me by telling me he had his scarf around his face when he walked in . It was the lack of his face being covered that brought my attention to him.Then i noticed the other person in back who was arranging some sort of dough on a tray also had no mask on. I assumed the dirty used mask on the counter next to the tray of doughballs was the mask she had been wearing. We need everyone to use safe pratices if we are to ever slow thespread of death covid has brought . I will never return to this place

Wonderful bakery! Everything is made fresh each day. They have the best maple bars. The little cake donut with chocolate frosting never makes it home. They also have muffins, cookies, scones, all kinds of sweet goodness. Drinks are available and staff are great. You can walk in or order ahead.

Absolutely love this place! I loved them when I used to live in Olympia, and now that I live in England, I still make a point to visit every time I come back to Thurston county. They are very friendly and both my partner and I were impressed when, the last time we visited, they said that they would make vegan doughnuts if ordered in advance! Would highly recommend this shop, and their fresh homemade doughnuts, anytime!!!

Wonderful pastries, nice variety. This place is like an old-style bakery, with all the goodness that comes with that! The woman who runs it is very nice, personable, and a pleasure to talk to. At the moment, there isnt any room to sit and eat there, but I highly recommend this place anyway!

First time I ever had a cake made and I chose this place because I heard it was good! (I wasn’t let down)I had them make my husband a cake and not only was it perfect but it was not too expensive and they were the only ones who could do a printed picture with no problem. (I had asked everywhere and no one would do it) I will order from here whenever I want a cake:) Better than anywhere I’ve ever had! Ps I got the carrot cake and omg it was amazing. I don’t even like carrot cake but this place changed my mind lol

I got my mother a birthday cake and it was not only affordable, it was the most delicious cake I have had in my recollection! The whipped cream frosting was out of this world! I cant wait for another occasion to try another flavor of cake, so I think Ill make one up! Also, the fellow at the store so very kind and gave me a free doughnut! I will be returning!

Went for the first time a couple weeks ago by chance of trying a new bakery nearby, there was a ton of beautiful pastries to choose from and the service was so polite. I ended up getting a box full after not being able to decide, truly a great experience!

This is literally the best bakery I have even been to. I have had their muffins, donuts, and danishes and WOW. So fresh and flavorful. I wish all bakeries were like this. The people are always friendly and the food is always fantastic. I hardly ever write reviews but I just had to let people know to not miss out on this place. I know longer live in Lacey but whenever I am in town (visiting family) I always have to stop in. YUM

Omg!!! I went in and ordered half a dozen for the kids, (I’m on a diet 😭). And didn’t think much of the place- very clean and nice staff. Then when we get home I go to serve the kids and the donuts were heavy, soft, and seemed super fresh! I had a tiny taste and let me just say these literally taste home made!!! The kids usually just pic at their food but they loved these!!! I grabbed one for my brother and he said these are the best donuts he’s ever had!!! Definitely recommend!!! Will be coming back next Saturday!!!

Walked in today and met Wit, Super nice guy, We talked for a good ten min and I walked out with a great lemon treat! Support this local business!! They also do gluten free and so on!! Great place for a treat!

I ordered 3 dozen pink glazed cookies with “8 B-day” in lavender writing. When I arrived to pick-up order, I looked at them and there was an “8” in dark green on the cookies. Then I noticed that the “8” had bled into the pink glaze on all the cookies. I asked the clerk why dark green icing had been used and why only an “8” was written on the cookies. Instead of apologizing, she actually snapped at me. She told me that the icing wouldn’t have run if I had bothered to pick the cookies up the day before.I explained to her that I had called at 4:30 pm but no one had answered and according to the phone message they were closed. Then I pointed out that even if they hadn’t been closed, that wouldn’t have changed the green icing into lavender icing or changed the “8” into “8 B-day”. She then told me that it wasn’t her problem that I hadn’t told them what colors to use. I then asked to leave a note for her manager. She smiled for the first time and told me that she was the owner.To top off my experience, she charge me twice for the same cookies. Why do they stay open at all if they can’t be bothered to speak cordially to their customers or fix their mistakes?

Wife and I decided to go on a Donut Quest and sampled 12 donut shops between Olympia and Portland. This place had by far the best tasting donuts. Not only that, but prices were good too. If you are looking for a donut, this is the place to be.

I custom ordered this cake, and couldnt have asked for anything better. The cake was soft like a cloud and the frosting melted in my mouth. The Mountain Home Bakery staff was very friendly, and the price was fantastic.

Haven’t updated their hours, very inconvenient considering I drove to them only to find they are closed at 3 instead of 5.I decided to change my 1 star review to 3 stars due to the COVID-19 situation.

What a great selection of yummy pasteries. Everything you can think of is made there. Just no iced cakes. Get there early-they sell out quickly. They are sort of hard to find. They are in the old Albertsons lot behind McDonalds. You will become a regular.

Definitely worth a stop. This is a small bakery behind the Pacific Avenue McDonalds. When you enter you can see the entire facilty. In the immediate front is a display of about four dozen types of freshly made pastries, donuts, muffins, cupcakes, and cookies. On Thursdays they make 2-4 types of gluten free items as well. Items average $1.25 each vs the typical $2.50 - 3.75 elsewhere in town for the same thing. Coffee & tea too. If you found this to be helpful, how about a thumbs-up? Thx.

Ordered a chocolate vanilla flavor cake and picked it up this Saturday And The vanilla tasted like pancake batter and the writing On the cake was ugly tbh look like they rushed it and the name was spelled wrong . So I payed $75 dollars couldn’t do anything about it anymore so I just took the cake

The greatest donut shop ever made.

I sometimes have cravings for their donuts and muffins. They are so good I will drive the 30 or so minutes for them. Their location is difficult to see from the road, but dont let that stop you from having some of the best donuts youve ever had! I will mention that they do not have a sit down dining area, so plan on taking them to go.

The old fashion glazed donut was great but the apple fritter was too round, not flat enough. The center portion was still doughy.

These pastries are a cut above the other local offerings. After a few dozen I can safely say there have been no complaints from me or any of my coworkers.

Great new local bakery, it smells great when you walk in and the treats are delectable. Customer service is top notch!

This is a very good doughnut shop. It has a very old-school vibe to it. The doughnuts are always fresh and taste great, not greasy... and very affordable. Their Danish are amazing! I have never had their coffee. They also give their remaining doughnuts to the food bank for those in need which I always respect. Great family business.

Made an autistic childs dream come true. Not only was the cake amazing but they went above and beyond to personalize it just for him I looked for 40 miles to find a Minecraft cake for my son. Thats all he wanted for his birthday was a Minecraft cake. I couldnt have thought of a better idea myself. I told the bakery what I was looking for and they went above and beyond my expectations when my husband picked up the cake it was more than I could have ever thought of. Thank you guys for doing such an amazing job you saved my sons birthday we will definitely be coming back to you guys for every cake that we have to get.
