Scalpers with a store. Sure, the staff is nice until you confront them about their outrageous prices on TCG items. The owners are willing to rip you off to make a quick buck - theres plenty of other shops in town that still make a decent profit and not take advantage of their customers by marking up brand new product by 275%.Fanfare, you changed. What the hell happened?Shop elsewhere.

BEST SHOP EVER! TONS of boardgames and comics. By board games I dont mean scrabble, I mean full intense strategy games like Gloomhaven and still a good chunk of games like unstable unicorns. We spent an hour there and then had to go back to spend another hour and spent... well too much but the point is if you like boardgames or comics this store is for you! Treat yourself and get everything!

Have been going here for years and I have always had a great experience. They have almost everything you could think of. Would definitely recommend checking it out for anyone of any age!

Crazy wide collection of games, and DnD stuff and comics. Was kinda impressed at the scope. Some of the items in the board game area were high prices, but much of it was Kickstarter exclusive stuff they are selling at a premium which at least kinda makes sense. Id definitely go back to look again if Im ever back in the area with money!

Great selection, but very over priced. The FIRST DAY of Pokémon Shining Fates was released I spent $120 on a $50 ETB box. The itch had me so I begrudgingly paid the price. They market price a lot of their stuff, which is fine with older sets that are out of print, but not brand new stuff. That purchase still haunts me. They do however have a great selection of singles usually and their selection of other games, comics, and various nerd stuff is really good. If you’re willing to pay.

Great for comics, the staff is always nice but if you want a place that won’t scalp TCG cards to you, look somewhere else. This shop tends to mark up their Pokémon items 2-3 times the actual MSRP.

Absolutely love it here. Been coming here since I was a kid(over 30 years now). The staff is knowledgeable about practically anything and everything under the sun. They go out of their way to make sure you dont need anything and are super friendly. Plus you can find some amazing deals just walking around the store. Everywhere I travel, I try to find at least one comic shop. Ive come to realize lately that Im very fortunate to have Fanfare near. The staff is focused on service, theyre well organized with a ton of stuff - the 40% off tpbs are always worth a look - and they manage their monthly ordering really well - if its a hot book, they order enough to meet demand and still have some leftover the week after when you remember you forgot to pick it up. I wish their general back issues were better stocked, but that seems to be a dying practice everywhere. Decent stock of keys. Old toys, new toys, pulp magazines, video games, card games, board games, statues, shirts, posters, books... And if they dont have it and its still in print, they will try their best to get it for you. Thank you, Fanfare!

Kalamazoo Fanfare is a cornerstone of the comic book community here. While the city is small, this store makes up for it in spirit and offerings.They sell a variety of comics, action figures, and table top accessories. You get the feeling the staff there all actually read comics, play games, and want to genuinely sell you the best products, from their own experience.I havent ever felt pressured to buy anything, which can be great for a socially isolated, introverted nerd, who just escaped a 10 hour DnD session to find a new miniature to paint.Oh, and they also on occasion have sessions scheduled that you can watch or join. Roll the dice and check them out.

I ALWAYS love going in here. The array of things they have to offer is great. Their customer service is bar none. I HIGHLY recommend them for anything fun!

This place is pretty cool. They have a lot of stuff. A ton of back issues, trade paperbacks, magic, pokemon, game miniatures, etc. They have the best 50¢ and discount bins Ive seen. The store is larger than average. I appreciate that it is also clean and brightly lot inside, a lot of comic stores tend to be a little dusty and dark.My only complaint is their pricing of older back issues is higher than market value (based on real eBay prices they were often considerably higher, in some cases double). Also, they had jacked up the prices on brand new variants to 15$ or more. I feel like new variants should be cover price to give people incentive to go to a store. Also, as I mentioned they do have discount bins and 50¢ bins, so there are still good deals to be had in all fairness.

I love coming here. Its about a 45 minute drive but its one of the best comic book stores around! They know their customers, always friendly and helpful. Customers for life.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Fanfare is probably my favorite place on earth. At least of all the places I have ever been to. Staff are cool and know their stuff. And they have Heroclix! Which is about the coolest game ever.

They treat their customers like they dont need em. I used to be a frequent customer. Coming into the store 2-3 times a week. They just lost a customer for life.Fanfare has the worst customer service. About 5 months ago I started a pull list for one comic. Three comics were never pulled and Fanfare blamed it on their computer system. I decided to cancel my pull list because of this, but this did not stop me from going into the store. Strike r 1.The last time I was in there I purchased a couple of books. One of the books had a sticker on it that was loose. They questioned me if I messed with the sticker. Told them to go and look at the price on the other copies that were on the shelf. Strike 2Today, I go in with my son who wants to start a pull list, so I figured that I restart my pull list and just add his to mine. Fanfare then questioned me if I was going to keep my pull list going forward. Acting as if I did something really wrong when I canceled my first pull list due to their error. in reality they were in the wrong. Strike 3Bill who is the owner did nothing to help to the situation and never apologized.

Ive been going to Fanfare since 1997, when you used to get Fanfare bucks for buying back issues of comics. Fanfare has a great selection of action figures, comics, games, trade paperbacks and more. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Probably one of the best board game and comic shop in the area.

I first look for a store thats openly helping to protect everyone that enters from Covid. A table set up at entrance to disinfect our hands. Knowing most who came in have used this wash too, set my mind at ease. Sadly they didnt have much that we wanted... due to Covid backlog. Cards, supplies and comics are hard to get into the store and shipping is being held up also. Support our local businesses as much as possible!

I have been going to Fanfare for almost literally 20 years. Always great service, and everything I could want in stock. On the rare occasion it wasnt, I easily placed a special order with them and got it faster than ordering online. It has been fun to see how they have grown and expanded their offerings over the years. Can not recommend enough.

I come here quite often with my brother to pick up board games, but mostly Arkham horror card game by Fantasy Flight. They are good at keeping those in stock. There prices seem fair for any board game and comic shop. A wide range of comics, graphic novels and and they have a splash of sports cards. They even have a wall dedicated to the top ranked board games of the month if you are feeling the need for a new board game. Also while they do not sell game tables. They do sell miniature set pieces like goblin camps, bridges, and stair pieces from Warlock gaming. So i say they are worth checking out atleast.

Fanfare is an excellent place to find new games and figures. The employees are helpful and friendly. My son is 6 years old, and they are welcoming to him as well.They do some resales.Pre-pandemic, they used to host game nights.Definitely the place where I will be purchasing our familys Christmas games.

The staff at Fanfare is friendly and helpful, and visiting the shop is always a pleasant experience. I appreciate their Covid precautions that make shopping less stressful. The great selection of comics and action figures old and new make every visit fun with a shot of nostalgia.

Everything is always organized and easy to find, and the store is somehow perpetually clean. As great as those qualities are, nothing compares to the staff. Every time I walk in I feel welcomed, and everybody that works there is incredibly nice and helpful. I could easily go to another comic shop that’s a bit closer to my house, but no other comic shop I’ve ever been to even comes close to the fantastic customer service at this store. Every interaction I’ve ever been here has been positive.

Grew up coming here every week for comics and gaming supplies. got my first warhammer minis here. still coming back when im in town to browse their selection of older mtg single cards and get recommendations for trade paperbacks. staff feels kinda like family at this point. love this place.

This is THE best comic book store in southwest Michigan. Excellent selection, very attentive customer service, AND they ensure a safe environment to shop.

No real toy or vintage collectable selection. Too much stuffed animals and magic card stuff. Not very kid friendly. Employees seem like theyre always watching you👀 like everyone is a bad customer. Nothing special.

I have been coming here since I was in High School (graduated in 92). This store has only gotten better with age. From Comics to Trading Cards to that one out of print RPG Book that you just cant seem to find. There are treasures to be found here if you are willing to look. The Staff is both knowledgeable and friendly. I am always welcomed when I come in and any question has always been answered.

They have tons of great items ranging from comic books to board games. If you enjoy magic youll also love this place.

I mostly go to FanFare for magic cards which, if thats all youre looking for, there are other locations with a greater selection. However those stores dont have nearly as pleasant or helpful of a staff. If youre a broad spectrum nerd and/or customer service matters to you, FanFare is 100% the place to go.

This place has comic books and games. There is a little bit of something for everyone. Older children and young adults would enjoy this place. The staff were helpful. The store is big enough to not always be next to somebody. There is plenty of parking.
