Drove all the way here from Shelbyville, IN after stopping at the E Washington location only to find they were no longer accepting buys after 3:00 pm. I arrived to this 96th street location at 4:14 pm and unloaded 3 bins and two full bags inside the door. After, and only after I unloaded the very thing, did a staff member say to me that they were now no longer accepting buys either (closing time was 7:00 pm for a Sunday). She did not apologize and was very rude when saying this, especially after they just watched me unload everything before speaking up. There was no sign on the door to say that they would be closing early, because I checked BEFORE I got out and unloaded everything. I then asked her if I could leave my belongings for the next day to be checked, since I had already unloaded everything. She answered “We are not open tomorrow.” So I responded by asking about Tuesday. She just answered “No.You have to come back.”I understand being busy. I understand being short staffed. But1. Don’t be rude to customers because you’re overwhelmed.2. Make sure you’re advertising that you’re not accepting buys3. Don’t promote “Same day cash” if you can’t make that happen.4. DONT WATCH PEOPLE UNLOAD MULTIPLE HEAVY TOTES INTO YOUR STORE AND WAIT TO TELL THEM YOURE NOT ACCEPTING BUYS. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT.I used to be a frequent shopper and seller but I will not be returning to this location. Poor customer service all around.

Close and convenient to the house but the only employers are as rude as ever. Once I brought a buy in 45 min before closing (a small one) and the worker said they stopped taking buys when there was signage saying 30 min before closing. I also asked to see a golf set that was on a top shelf during the same visit and the employees mumbled under their breath “is she serious?” .....and I ended up purchasing the set. I like the section and variety but they are plain rude, unprofessional and it shows. Everyone has to be having the same experience as I read through the reviews. Guess it’s worth it to drive to another location.

HIGHLY doubt well go back to the 96th St. location ever again. We took a 13 gallon bag of clothes and a smaller 6 gallon bag in to sell and was told we only got $10 for them taking only 3 items out of all that we had. Their reasoning was it was stained or worn. Absolutely NOT true. Most of what we sent was spotless and not worn at all. When I asked why they didnt take any of it, thats what I was told. When asked what stipulations they had on items you sell them, I was ignored. If you gave items you want to sell, you will do MUCH better at a yard sale or Facebook. Dont waste your time. Absolutely NOT worth it. And I noticed that they only respond to the 5-star ratings anymore. Whats that tell you about a business if they cant respond to people who have issues. We are now going to sell all my sons old clothes a different way and will buy the new ones from somewhere else. This company has lost our business permanently.

There was one nice employee and he was working check in. Besides that everyone there acted like they absolutely hated the job and were rude to the customers. they should offer you a receipt. they act offended when you ask about a price like isn’t this your job. I took 50 name brand items and had to laugh a little at the offer of $1 for my unworn nike golf shirt

Horrible service & unprofessional staff! Staff spoke very loudly about personal matters while negatively putting others down. The manager sent staff to lunch, leaving one cashier with over 5 people in line. Proving a point of making someone uncomfortable, is never worth ruining your business reputation. In the past this was a GREAT store to buy and sell. Now, negative unprofessional behavior makes it impossible to shop peacefully.

I love once upon a child as a busy it really saves parents a lot of money but it’s just annoying to come in a here employs complaining about what they work when it’s people in the world who don’t even have a job . You can tell they hate they job I will never come back to this location.

Large, newly remodeled store with huge selection of gently used baby and kids clothing and equipment. I can always find what I am looking for at a GREAT price.I also enjoy selling my daughters outgrown items here, I (usually) get a reasonable payment. I always make sure to launder the items & fold in a laundry basket when selling items. They will not take clothes with stains, rips etc.

Great place to buy cheaper, but nice kids and baby toys, clothes, and shoes.

Very professional all around and the store is in top notch condition. The toys are kept in mesh bags to keep the pieces together and theres very minimal damage. Yes theyre picky about what they take and how much they offer but that is for the CONSUMER benefit so dont be upset when you bring things in to sell. Its to keep prices affordable and keep gently used items in the store. Thank you for the reasonable offer we received today, it was a pleasure doing business with you!

Bringing down my review from 5 star to 2. I understand opening is at 930. When a sales clerk opened the door initially, I thought they were opening for us (it was 9:26) I suppose she was actually holding the door open for an older woman (manager??) who said absolutely nothing to us had a sour look on her face and overall seemed rude. We didnt realise we were minutes before opening. The clerk who opened the door for the older woman walking in told us it would be 5-10 minutes until doors are open. I understand 930 are operating hours, I just expect a little more politeness.Edited down to one star. Maybe they dont have the A team out. The texting prompt was a issue for us so we had to wait for our clothes to be processed close by. We stood near the front counter to be on top of things. The women (who opened the door, we thought for us) placed our bags on the shelf behind her. We were there one minute then walked away to grab our toddler that was with us, so we didnt know she was putting those aside. When we noticed, we told them ours was ready and without skipping a beat another sales clerk grabbed our stuff, didnt even have to confirm with us which bags were ours. And we completed our time here. We feel the staff here was very rude, unpleasant and I think we will drive out to the East side next time. It wouldnt have taken much to bring our finished sell to our attention especially since they knew who it belonged to and we were within 5 ft of the counter. Very disappointed. When I was having issues receiving their store text messages, they were apathetic and didnt kindly pursue other methods. Communication is key, and they couldnt even smile.

My favorite Once Upon a Child store! Most clean and organized location Ive seen! This particular store is my top choice location for Once Upon a Child stores. Staff was nice as well.

I fell in love with this store. It is well organized and has lots of options in all baby/toddler sizes. I was tired of paying tons of money for my toddlers clothing that he grows out of so fast. I found a pair of jeans for $4.50. I saw the same ones on Amazon for $15.

Consumer alert❗Ive taken a day to think about this before posting.... This place is criminal. Very simple. You drop your things off and they go through. Simple right? Until you come back and dont pay attention to what they give you back. My friend of 40+ years found her items on there shelves for sell and she was NOT going to be given anything but a smile. We all know that smile. Offering a scooter she was told $2.50. Thats two dollars and fifty cents for something they could not find on line and her husband found immediately off Google for over $100. I will give this company the benefit to reply otherwise it is the company that is at fallt. After finding some of her belongings on the shelves for sell without compensation I believe this is just Criminal. Everyone please pay attention to what is going on with this company. Dont trust them at all. Just my opinion.After being told to contact the owner there has been no! Response. I believe this is there way to miss lead customers once againStill no reply. This business is not credible at all. Im not sorry but a joke. You want to say that you are wanting to talk only so customers see that. BS. The owner must not be from Indy because we have morals. Priced high for used clothing

Very friendly staff! I live near the Carmel OUAC and travel the extra miles to the Lakewood location just because of their friendly and helpful staff. I never have to wait long for their buying process either. I love that they send you a text when your clothes are ready! So handy. Great store- give it a try!

I shop for my 7 grandchildren here. I always find lots of clothes they like and I save a bunch of money. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

If you’re a seller, DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!! Not sure what criteria these people use to evaluate clothes, but what a sham. I’ll get better results having a garage sale, and won’t be back.

One of my favorite go-to childrens clothing consignment stores in metro Indy. Their selection is great and the store is very well-organized and run. As a frequent consignor at this store they give me a fair price for my items and share tips/advice for each season. TIP: Also, it doesnt hurt that this location is this/close to the Entenmanns Bakery Outlet (cheap bread and baked goods), Tuesday Morning and an awesome Kroger. Im all about one-stop shopping if I can get it done in short order.

I really do love this Once upon a child BUT the shoppers are rude. I got cussed out with my two kids because a lady tried pulling shoes from under me and I wouldn’t move. I will not be back. And I will continue to give Carmel and Muncie my business.

Love this place. It has moved to 96th street next to Sams club. The new place is huge and very well maintained. Everything is organized by size and color and prices are affordable.

Been going here for years and the inside of the store along with the selection has greatly improved over the years. I cant complain about anything other then the employees here. It is a very unprofessional situation here right now my wife goes there and is told that check in time is 1 hour and 4 hrs later after several times being told she was next in line and that was absolutely not the truth. And I asked who is the manager here and the girl responded the girl with glasses and short hair but you really dont want to talk to her she will go off on you !!! Management here is a complete joke. Which is a shame because this is a good company.

I absolutely love this location! It has a huge selection to choose from. Everything is good quality and gently used, sometimes even brand new for half of the retail price!

It is always a fun place to find good used items of clothing, shoes or for play. I have even sold an item back that I no longer needed. It is a great way to recycle childrens things and save lots of money. It is a good place for grandparents to restock the toy box.

If you are buying items, you can find reasonable deals for smaller children. However, if you are selling items, you would be better off just giving them away. I dont understand why they dont require the items being sold to be clean. They say they pay top dollar but, that is in no way true.

It was surprisingly a pleasant place to shop. Did not have that Goodwill feeling. Clean with a great variety of items for children. All the employees had genuine smiles on their faces. I think I may quit my job LOL . Furthermore, the pricing was reasonable for like new clothes. Will be visiting again.

I was helped by super friendly staff and shown where everything was. I had a coupon for free onesies from the hospital and they seemed genuinely happy for me to use it even if I didnt purchase anything else (I did, of course!). Prices were fair and quality of items were good. The store was clean and I will be returning soon because my baby is growing way too fast!

Nice well organized

My husband and I brought in four large bags of clothes and several larger items. When we entered the store we were immediately greeted by the associate. The clerk asked if we would be staying while they checked our items and informed us it was first come first serve. There were five customers ahead of us who told us to leave because it took a long time but we stayed and looked around. It only took about an hour. When we were called up, another associate had apologized for the wait and gave us one bag of clothes back as well as a respectable size check for what they did buy. If you are brining in well cared for items-they will buy. We have already been back and had another great experience. There is never praise for stores and I want to make sure that customers know they experience can be great if you help to make it great. Happy selling.

Once Upon a Child is an amazing store where you will find great brands, good quality clothing at really affordable prices. The inventory constantly changes so you never know what you might find. There is a large collection of toys for all ages. I loved this store when my kids were young and I still love it now that I am shopping for my grandkids.

I enjoyed the selection of 2T, but did not find much for 9 months. The staff was helpful, but not welcoming. The cashier was nice and did not start conversation until I asked a few questions. She was helpful and offered great tips.

Very unhappy with the experience I had selling clothes! I brought in 2 full boxes of my boys baby clothes and when I dropped them off I was not informed that they would be donated if they were left there past one day. Had I known this, I would have been back for them right away. Instead, all of those clothes were given away without my awareness. I was not ready to donate them and now they are all gone. No apology from the staff either. Very frustrating.

My problem is that they stop buying at 6 (all other local Once Upon A Child’s buy until 7) and even if you get there long before 6, they may still tell you they have to keep your stuff until the next day. But I had a good experience with some of the employees though others definitely needed some pointers on customer service. Also, it took quite a while for them to go through my things and they didn’t keep much.Update: I’ve had positive experiences here since my review but again I’ve had another irritating experience. I came in today at 5:30pm and they told me it’s a 4 hour wait and I could drop my stuff off for tomorrow. I didn’t want to do that so I left which is fine, I guess, but then on my way out I heard her tell a lady sure she could take her stuff and asked would she be waiting in store......????? I only had a diaper box of stuff?

I usually love this location. But the last few times I have had issues. Now Im not too sure if its a management thing but there are always new girls there. My fav is Jen. But besides the point. So I bought converse sneakers there on the 17th. They were in a box marked size 6c however we get home they were really a size 3! A size 3c! And the kicker? There is still socks in them! I called and the most I got was sorry we usually check...yeah me too but the lady behind the corner would not let me see them she just opened the box and I couldnt tell the difference from that far away. And she seemed annoyed someone wanted to see something behind the counter. Ridiculous. Roll you eyes elsewhere. Then I went yesterday and I turned down their measly 4 dollar offer over a $40 gate unopened in box. And as I was leaving some girl said something about my attitude. Which I didnt have at that moment. So that was rude and uncalled for, called to complain later in the day when management would hopefully be there. NO ANSWER! When and if I decide to go back to this location believe me I will speak my piece. I would love to give this location 10 stars for one amazing employee but the 2 ones who treated me horribly dont deserve the 2 stars let alone their jobs.

When changing store policies you should make sure everyone knows them. Example went in to sell a few items and the lady registering people told me I could wait in the store... sounds like the normal process you wait in the store you go before others who have left...well after being in the store 30 plus minutes then I find out now they are just going in order now and will text when your items are done... doesnt matter if you stay... then the same lady told another shopper we are always taking onesies but someone walked by and told they are not. GET IT TOGETHER! Everyone always has a stale face in a so called friendly store!

Great selection, store much bigger with wider aisles and able to accommodate a cart and a family.

Store has a variety of children sizes and styles of clothes. I was able to find summer and winter seasons at any time of the year. I have not found any stains on any of the clothes that I have purchased. They have a frequent amount of sales which helps with 2 kids. I would go back again.

I love this store! Discounts galore. Fun. Games. Etc. I sneak off while my husband is at work, shop, trade, discount!!! Fun and clean. The only thing that i dislike is the shoes/onsies inside of the bins.But that is not enough to keep me away.

Lots of nice things for children! Cashier didnt ask if was cashing out or purchasing on my items I had brought in, she just handed me cash even though I obviously was purchasing (had items in my hand and cart) over priced also. We went to Childrens Place after here and the shirts new cost less than here! Well organized though, besides a bracket fallen with clothes on the floor, unattended.

I like this Once Upon a Child, its clean and most of the time the service is outstanding.Yes they offer lower prices for buyouts of baby/kids stuff, but I look at it like its one big hand me down group, where I sell low (and therefore buy at a lower price).

This is a cute little place with lots of affordable second hand items. I brought in three bags of infant clothes to sell and they bought one bag worth (which is typical of second hand stores). Upon leaving the friendly staff helped me carry my purchases and unbought items to my car since I had my infant with me. I will definitely be returning to both buy and sell.

I like this location pretty well. Huge selection of strollers! Great selection of high quality toddler clothes. I was surprised that the baby selection doesnt seem to be the bulk of what they have (at least for what I was looking for in 6-9 months). I was also a little disappointed by what they chose to buy from me, but cest la vie. Ill definitely return regularly.

Waited basically 4 hours to get a message of when my purchase was done. Just to get less then 40$ for items that were new with tags on them. Plus their new management and staff aren’t at all very helpful or willing to work with. My advice is to go to the one on 86th st.

Such a bad experience. Hey were only excepting 1 tub per customer when I went in. I took the tub In thought had the best stuff in it. After I was done, they gave me a slip with a list of the items they were most in need of. All of which was left in my car.

I brought in two large totes and they only bought three things!!! I was highly pissed! they told me I needed to have sets of clothes not just pieces. I grabbed my tote and started pulling out sets of clothes and I asked sis they even look at my clothes???? That place is a joke! I took my totes to the once upon a child on Washington street and they took all my totes!!!! and gave me a nice chunk of change! needless to say i only go to the one in speedway or Washington street.

Long waits, incredibly poor customer service from the store to management to the owner. Will not be back. Had a valid concern and was forwarded to a supervisor in Ohio who told me that the owner “who pays her paycheck” told her not to return customers phone calls. Blown away by the lack of professionalism.

Ive sold to them a million times...so i pretty much know what they will buy...they had a basket full of my things and was only offering 11.75...with some of the things i see on the racks and shoes THAT THEIR SELLING...EVERYTHING SHOULD HAVE BEEN PURCHASED...AND NOT FOR 11.75...Not only that they claim my things had minor stains...YEA A FEW THINGS THEY DIDNT WANT...BUT THE ITEMS THEY DID WANT HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHIN ON THEM SMH...

Had to search through alot of clothes but it was organized you can find a couple of gently used outfits there for your little ones.

This store was such a disappointment to me I brought all three of my boxes in I asked how much time it would be she said about an hour I came up to the counter and Ive been in the store for more than an hour and they had just started on one of my tubs and they were doing everybody elses the people that have come behind me they were letting other people go before me and I saw people that came in behind me go they got their stuff done and they went and I was still stuck in the store so I had to leave after being there more than an hour I just took all three of my tub is back and I traveled 22 minutes there in 22 minutes back with my two children I am very disappointed the lady said that it was going to be an hour and then she said that if I left the store I would lose my place in line so I decided to stay cuz in Virginia they did it very well they made me stay in the store but they got it done right away and they didnt take other peoples stuff before mine they stayed on my stuff they went in order whoever got there first they went with it Virginia knows how to do things because they do it efficiently this place is disorganized rude inconsiderate of peoples time very disappointed I would never go here again so I had to leave with none of myself story because I said I cant stand the store anymore more and then they have the audacity disable you can come back I said why I live 22 minutes away and I said I just spent more than an hour in the store and they just shrug their shoulders they didnt care and they sell stained up things in there so I would really watch what you buy cuz I picked out something my little girl really wanted it but it had stains on it but the lady said that shed give me 20% off and then she forgot to take it off of the counter and I reminded her and she said oh well thank you for letting me know yeah she wasnt going to give me that 20% off if I didnt catch it this is very disorganized and insufficient store
