I just completed the basic riders course and I had such a great experience. The instructors were super friendly and knowledgeable and really care about helping you learn the proper technique! They pay attention and give each rider feedback on where and how to improve. Thankful to awesome cycles for teaching me the riding basics! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to learn the basics or to improve riding skills .

What great experience learning at Awesome Cycles. I had zero experience on motorcycles. Chris and Debbie kept things light but serious and made sure we learned what we needed to. Bikes had seen better days but also didn’t make you feel so bad when you inevitably dropped a bike. I would highly recommend them to take your BRC1 and I will be back to take the advance class. Do not be late to class!

This is me second time here. First time I passed and lost the paperwork and just said, ”bah”. I wanted to add to the reviews and testify that this place is consistent from 9 years ago till today (passed today). What to expect : HONEST friendly feedback and training with the main goal is to produce safe riders. My sessions it rained and still I had a blast relearning and enjoying the friendships with new riders. Downside is the bikes are a bit of beaters BUT they are student bikes who “never ridden before” students are on so it’s not a big deal. How this is also a plus is there’re so many different kinds of bikes you are sure to find one that fill fit you. Please please consider this place for your MSF, and honestly get the best training.

UPDATE 2/2/2021 My son was finally able to get his Class M today!! He was only 15 with a permit when he took the BRC, now that he is 16 and got his Class C last week he was able to get the Class M today. As a minor they still have to take the written and road test at the DPS. Not an issue though, with everything taught at Awesome Cycle, and the practice we put in driving around it was easy.UPDATE!! 2/1/2021I decided to go through the BRC course myself and Chris was once again top notch!! Rangers Lead The Way!! Chris and Debbie went above and beyond to make sure all the students were comfortable and retained the knowledge of the course no matter what level of experience the students had. The testing was on on par with what was taught online as well as during the lectures. The practical test was definitely the best Ive seen to ascertain if the student had basic skills in riding. I highly recommend Awesome Cycle!! (Also getting an appointment at the DPS Monday after class was great. In and out within 15 minutes with a Class M on the licenses. No hassle at all. The Certification card and an eye test along with the change of DL application is all that is needed!!)What a great experience for my son!! Chris & Kim were absolutely awesome & helpful. Classes were on time, precise, & economical. Thank you for taking good care of my son. I highly recommend Awesome Cycles!! 6/23/2020

Excellent! Disregard the negative reviews. This place is legit. Sam and Chris are very experienced, not only as riders, but as instructors. Riding is one thing, teaching is completely different. I really enjoyed their instructional style and thoughtfulness. This course is perfect for people with no experience. The atmosphere is light and casual, but serious. Take the class seriously and pay attention to the instructors and you’ll pass.Yes, they are strict about showing up on time, which I liked. If someone showed up late, then the whole class would be bogged down. Not cool. They send detailed instructions on how to prepare and to be punctual.

Definitely worth the drive. My fiancé and I decided to take the basic rider course and I couldn’t be happier with how much I learned. The instructors were great. Definitely made it fun during the classroom portion. The bikes were okay. The grom I rode had a slight sticky throttle. The parking lot you ride on could use some help. I suggest new paint and more cones. I definitely recommend this location if you are looking to take your basic rider course. We will be back for the advance rider course.Thank you again Awesome Cycles.

I took my first MSF course at Harley Davidson but didnt have the best experience there. I was very tense and felt on edge a good bit due to the instructor breathing down my neck and making me anxious. I decided to come to Awesome Cycles since I heard so many good things! Man, I was blown away by the experience-- the instructor (Sam) was so understanding of my prior experiences and really helped me out one some items I needed help on. The course was fast but not so fast that questions could not be answered. I highly recommend Awesome Cycles to anyone who is looking to learn to ride, get their license, etc. The bikes are 250cc (or if you get the Grom, its 125cc) so not too heavy or difficult to maneuver. Some bikes are in bad condition but they have plenty of bikes to switch in and out, should one of your bikes not work properly, while you learn how to ride.

The basic rider course was fantastic! I’d recommend it to anybody - regardless of whether you have a little riding experience or have never put your leg over a motorcycle. Chris was an excellent instructor, and he’s very patient. It’s easy to tell that he enjoys what he’s doing.Even if you have to drive across town to take their course, I recommend you do it at Awesome Cycles. It’s a lot of fun and you learn a lot over a short two days. If the weather looks bad, be prepared with rain gear and a change of clothes because you will ride regardless of the weather. I thought the rain made it interesting!

The Basic RiderCourse is structured to get a complete beginner become familiar with riding a motorcycle by incrementally introducing new techniques and concepts even though it is a fast paced class over a short period of 2 days. The instructors Chris & Debbie did patiently do so. However BEWARE the bikes are unforgiving of mistakes. After about 2-3 hours on the motorcycle, I slid out on the bike by applying too much brake into a corner and losing traction. As I got up, my left wrist was swollen and deformed. Debbie asked me to move my fingers and said since I could do so, it was probably a sprain. To me as a physician, I knew you can easily have a fracture in the arm and maintain mobility of the fingers. Neither Chris or Debbie offer any first aid as they were determined to get on with the class. I did head to ER immediately from the range. I had fractures in the two bones of the forearm - radius and ulna - and had surgery a few days later - a plate placed to repair the radius.

Debbie at Awesome Cycles is a hell of a instructor. She has a great personality mixed with many years of riding and teaching that allow her to engage even the most experienced rider. I highly recommend this course no matter your skill level. The emergency tactics provided in this class could be life saving. Great place, not just to learn the basics, but also to inspire you to ride better and safer. Whether you are a veteran rider or you have never heard of motorcycles before, you will benefit from the curriculum. Instructors are very positive and optimistic. It helps to have ridden a bicycle before as well as driven a standard stick shift car, but it pays more to listen to everything the instructors say and to ask questions when in doubt. Lots of freebies were also given out at the end of the class which was also inspiring. The motorcycles are not the best in the world, but they are excellent for learning. There are several types and sizes available for different personalities and body types and all bikes are in good condition. In addition, and for my class, Chris and Kim made every second worth it.One might not walk out of the class an expert rider, but you are given enough to take the training wheels off and continue the adventure on your own. Overall, I believe you get the best bang for your buck with this company!

The basic rider course is NOT for beginners. It is for people who have riding experience seeking licensure. I went knowing nothing about the difference between a throttle or a clutch. They only give you four hours of actual Bike instruction and most of all they teach to the test, not for you to learn to ride. Their basic course is misrepresented. There should be a basics course to teach you to ride not teach you to take a test. I learned a lot about riding and safety but I was NOT taught to ride. I would NOT recommend this course for a brand new rider.

My name is Aj, Ms.Debbie if you ever see this review, i just wat to say thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! I never rode on a motorcycle before i took the Msf course on June 1-2 2020. My teachers were Ms.Debbie and Chris. They both were really patient with me. The only experience i had before the course was watching YouTube videos on how to shift, steer, ect. Ms.Debbie and i were in contact before i even went to class because i was bothering her with all my questions. She answered every last one and even moved me to the class on June 1st (because that was my actual birthday). I ended up passing the written course with a 100 as well as the driving part. I am looking forward to going back for the Brc2 course so that i can get Familiar with my own bike. Chris helped me when it came to relaxing and not being so hard on myself and taking my time. They both gave me the confidence and safety skills i need to be out on the road and feel comfortable riding a motorcycle. Class was so fun and it didn’t seem to last that long. I loved my riding class because we were like a little motorcycle family all trying to achieve the same goal. This class was extremely unorganized and unprofessional. The bikes they put us on were in horrid condition and the scooter i was using looked as if it was going to crumble under me. It had huge tears in the seat, the speedometer didnt work, the headlight bulb was loose and falling out, and it had a ton of cracks everywhere. After one of my falls, gasoline was POURING all down the side of it and the instructor thought nothing of it. The scooter my friend was using had something wrong with the throttle, as it would unpredictably stop working while she was riding. One of the motorcycles even had dents in the gasoline tank. In addition, most of the people in my class had experience riding and could easily do all the exercises immediately after being shown what to do. So my instructor decided to drastically cut down the time we spent practicing for the test, despite the fact that it was supposed to be a BEGINNER level class. We were supposed to spend 8 hours a day on the class for 2 days. However, on the first day we spent about 2 hours in the classroom and 4 hours on the bikes. The second day, we spent no time in the classroom and went straight to spending only 4 hours on the bikes, test included. I have had very minimal experience practicing on a scooter before taking the class, but trusted that they would do their job and make sure i got the skills i needed. I needed as much time practicing the exercises as possible, but the instructor didnt care and cut it down for convenience even though he knew i was struggling. As a result, i actually crashed during my test and immediately failed. All the time, money and effort put into it went to waste. And as if that wasnt enough, i injured my knee when i hit the ground and am now having surgery to repair a torn meniscus. I will have to take several weeks off of work for recovery, when this class was supposed to help me get to work more easily. If the instructor had been professional and followed what i thought were lawful requirements for time spent on the class, i wouldnt be in this situation. This was an awful experience and i will definitely go somewhere else if i decide to try again for my license.

This class is really fun, educational and awesome in everyway. I went here because an experienced rider I know recommended this particular school. I have very little riding experience and I live very far from the school and have to get up extremely early to attend the classes on time, but it is totally worth it. You will learn, ride and have fun doing both. You will build basic skills which you can develop as tour experience riding increases. This is a great school for people who want to get into riding motorcycles but are not sure where to start. I highly recommend to others to check it out. You wont be disappointed. Before the class, relax, do a little research on your own before attending the class by watching introduction to motorcycle riding videos on YouTube and get ready for the most enjoyable class of your life. I just took the written exam today and scored a 100! I could not be happier. Tomorrow after I pass the riding exam, I will receive my certificate of course completion! If youre reading this review, you can stop and go ahead and sign up for this class. Trust me when I say you wont regret it.Tip: Make sure you are early everyday. Traffic in Houston is.... Well...... Simple, safe and sound step by step education building on what you were taught previously. Prepared me for final testing in a way that was both entertaining and engaging. Highly recommend for beginners or seasoned riders.

This is a very nice place to learn IMHO. The bikes were in decent shape considering that they are all trainer bikes, not really a big deal. The basic class gives you about a total of 10 hours of riding time, which was a big plus for me. Their training sessions were very well organized and efficient. For the price you pay, you get 2 days of riding time (2 day bike rental + gas), 2 trainers in a group of 10, insurance discount for your bike, coupons to stores, and exempt from riding test at DPS. I would say that is an awesome deal!

I called this place to get some information about their classes. The guy that called me back was extremely rude. He hung up on me before allowing me to finish talking. I just wanted to know if the basic course was a fit for someone with no experience at all. I guess it’s not since that’s how they treat new potential customers. Taking my business elsewhere!

Great service and school--debbie was awesome and has plenty of experience. she was patient with the whole class no matter the skill level and provided constructive criticism while we were riding/practicing.

I took the 2 day BRC a week ago and it was an awesome experience. Sam and Lionel were great coaches and their different personalities made them a great team. We had tons of hands-on training, and not too much mind-numbing classroom time. Ive been riding for a few years, and decided to take the class as simply a requirement to get my license. But it was so much more than that. I realized just how bad I sucked at slow speed maneuvering and I learned info and skills that will make me a better rider. The only constructive criticism I would give is to get rid of the lengthy coupon ad read on the final day. Long story short, all of the different MSF courses cost about the same, but I would recommend this one. And the course was actually a fun experience, enjoy it because the next step is the DPS and they, on the other hand, are pure misery.

I arrived at Awesome cycles riding course 15 min. Early I didnt know we were supposed to go to the office first. When the instructor came he was very rude and smelled like alcohol. He didnt allow me to take the course or reschedule. He then had someone replace me for an extra fee Im sure. Their bikes were dirty and in very poor condition . Also the helmets were very cheap and worn out/smelly. Do not go to Awesome cycles the will take you for a ride.

Had a great time taking the brc with Mike. Spent plenty of time out on the range working on maneuvering and breaking. The class atmosphere was upbeat, everyone helped encourage each other while having fun learning. You will get out of it what you put in. Overall it wasa great experience.🏍
