I went to return a pair Sketchers shoes that were purchased for me as a gift my girlfriend paid 75 dollars of her hard earned money for those shoes. They came apart at the sole after 2 days of wear. I feel that I was refused the return because of my race all I wanted was to exchange the shoes. As a Hispanic man I urge any person color to boycott this store as they didnt care to to to show any decency towards me.

I had a little time to waste, so stopped by Academy this morning. As I was shopping, I ran across a trap thrower for $60.00.Sounded like a good deal, so I preceded to check out. There, I was informed that the real price was almost $300.00. Knowing I couldnt afford to pay that price, I assumed I would have to carry it all the way to the back of store, to put it back where I found it.I was pleasantly surprised when Miss. Alice, one of the supervisors, gave authorisation to the cashier to ring up the trap machine for the $60.00 posted price tag.Now that is customer service!!Wow!Hats off to Miss Alice and crew at the Academy in Houma. Good job ladies!

Clean store with very friendly and knowable staff... big selection for all your sports needs... I bought an Abu Garcia combo bait cast fishing pole, baits and a rod cover...

Hard to find an associate or any non cashier person at the moment, if you have a question or cant find an item or have never been to Academy before, yadda yadda.Stock is kept neat, sadly most aisles are a bit tiny even without a cart. They offer parts belonging to items they dont sell there, like lamp oil sitting there with no wicks in sight nor glass lamps either; but plenty LED camp lights right next to it.Overall a very lukewarm experience. This store is confusing.

This academy really caters to our area of south Louisiana. They have tons of hunting, fishing, boating, camping and outdoors supplies. Our area is heavily outdoors focused and this academy fills the needs of the area along with all the other general sporting goods stores.

As much as I love academy, this particular location I dont care for. First of all the workers are in no hurry to assist you. When they rearranged the store it made everything harder to find. They put the best stuff in the back instead of to the side. They have a lower availability of products compared to the Thibodaux location

My husband took me to Academy to get me a pair of comfortable shoes .We found what we wanted .It didnt take us long to find the right pair .When we went to pay the line was very short, so we got out of the store in no time .The people there were very helpful .When we couldnt find what we wanted, a very nice young man told us where to go .Our trip to Academy was a success. This store have a very decent inventory, we where looking for a 24 inch bike 🚲 and we founded, we visited other Academy stores but this one has more variety, the associates are very helpful, to pay the line was long, but they attend quickly 🙂

Academy used to be the place to go for sporting goods. The past few years has been horrible. Seems the whole sporting goods section is consistently empty of gear. Speaking with a team member, she stated that the stores dont control what is ordered and that it comes from the corporate offices in Texas.

For fishing lures, Academy is not the place. I fish often in south Louisiana and Academy do not restock its inventory of lures once sold out.I spoke to a store manager to find out why when fresh water or saltwater lures are sold out they are not restocked. I was told that all merchandise are purchased according to analytics.In other words, they have no idea of the demands of each store. Head quarters order on a yearly bases and divide the merchandise between 250 stores. Store employees can only answer 10% of he questions asked which shows how unorganized the company has always been.Pricing, I have found identical items as much as $10.00 cheaper at another Academy 12 miles apart. They really need to get their stores organized and allow managers input as to what their stores need.To get to the point, Academy needs to keep inventory up on a and get their buyers/purchasers to know what each store needs or shutdown the stores and go strictly online shopping.

A Cough can push droplets of a respiratory virus as far as 19 feet away, and a sneeze can push droplets up to 26 feet away, depending on the room’s humidity, temperature and air flow. With this being said. How are you to know if you just walked into an area after someone coughed or sneezed. You can contract Covid-19. No one is immune. Please enforce the facemask in your store. Was not happy when I was told by an employee that they can not make people wear them. They offer a mask and encourage them time wear them. As a healthcare worker, I wear a mask to protect myself, you, my family and the immune compromised. Again, Please enforce facemask for everyone.

Im only upset because theres a mask required sign and there were groups of people entering with no masks. They need to turn people around who do not have one, as I care for my health and do not want to catch Covid because a lousy business doesnt want to deny service when theres SIGNS that tell you to wear a mask. At least give those people some. There was a family with children all without masks walking and talking close to others who were respectfully following procedures.

Found great deals on clothes for Christmas gifts. They have name brand clothes at really good prices right now if this is on your list for someone this year you need to go check it out. Academy is always a good place for that special guy or girl in your life thats into some kind of sports!!
