Moena Sweets is the perfect place to stop for a delicious, sweet treat! We went here after hiking and it was everything we wanted—close location, quick service, great variety, and yummy foods! The lady working was very friendly, helpful, and nice. She gave us time to decide on our order and fixed us up some beautiful ice cream concoctions! The ice cream is very flavorful without being too sweet or tasting artificial. I especially enjoyed their unique and varied flavor offerings. They have many island flavors (I got Pineapple Lihing sorbet, which was the first time I’ve had lihing mui actually in an ice cream before!). They also had other unique flavors such as Kulolo, Lychee, and Guinness. We got the waffle with ice cream and it was delicious—freshly made and perfectly prepared! We will definitely be returning again to try out all of their flavors and are happy to have found it today!

Moena Sweets stepped in to fill the space formerly occupied by Bubbie’s, a longtime local favorite. No more mochi ice cream but they do offer local gelato flavors like pineapple li hing and lilikoi. It can get busy on the weekends with tourists dropping in but the line goes quickly and you can get in and out without too much of a wait. They do have tables inside and out, and in addition to wearing masks and social distancing, I saw them clean and spray the tables after diners left. Great neighborhood ice cream spot.

Love the flavors and options here. Staff are always super friendly and helpful. Victor helped us today. He was doing an awesome job even though it was very, very, hot inside and busy at opening.

The ice cream is great and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I had cookie dough on a sugar cone and my wife had a cup with Lychee sorbet.

Disappointed. Nice there is an ice cream replacement for Bubbies. BUT what they charge is exorbitant for the tiny milkshakes and ice cream cones you get! Also, my pecan and pralines ice cream cone was a mixture of creamy and icy like it had been sitting in the freezer way too long.

So glad an ice cream shop opened in Hawaii Kai! Friendly staff, delicious house-made waffles and waffle cones, tasty ice cream! Ill be going back often. :)

Covid times review: Love this place! Delicious ice cream and gelato. My go to is the hazelnut gelato on top of a Belgian waffle. The gelato is called Gianduja in Italian so look for that name in the freezer case.The inside is fresh and cleanly decorated with tables spaced out. The ice cream crew is always extremely polite and friendly. Appreciative of customers during these different times with Covid. They wear gloves and masks at all times. They also had a few tables outside to sit at if you want.The prices are standard for really good ice cream and gelato - you get what you pay for in quality. I haven’t tried their coffee yet but plan too if I can ever pass up the ice cream. Or have an appetite for both! 🤣We had root beer floats, cookie dough ice cream on waffle cones, Tahitian bean gelato on waffle cone, and Gianduja (chocolate hazelnut) on a Belgian waffle. Each one was delish and they have many other flavors.We drive all the way from Mililani - it’s that good. Plus during Covid - you cant beat the beautiful drive to Hawaii Kai and quiet children for about 20 minutes. Ha ha ha! Great local business to support too.Mahalo Moena Sweets!!!
