Shave ice was good. Ice was not as fine as I thought, and the flavor was either too light or too strong and artificial for me.I am not sure if its worth waiting in a long line for this, because there are other small shave ice shops that serve good shave ice too.

A fun experience when in Hawaii! Be prepared to wait in line, but the shave ice is a fun and delicious treat. I highly recommend getting the ice cream at the bottom, and getting vibrant flavors -- cherry, blue raspberry, pineapple, etc. Would definitely recommend this place to others!

The best shaved ice on Maui! If you’re visiting Maui, you MUST stop here and get shaved ice! My favorite is the “No Ka Oi” on top of vanilla ice cream and add mochi. It’s amazing, literally better than any other shaved ice you’ll find on Maui!

This is the only place you want to go for shave ice. The line can be long but it’s worth the wait. Get the keiki size if you are a newbie. All them flavors broke da mouth fer sure! I recommend the lemon and lime.

First timer and forever fan! I got the sunset beach which is a combination of guava, mango and passion orange) with Macadamia nut ice cream in the bottom and Snow cap (condensed milk)! IT WAS MAGICAL.... not regretting the calories at all.

We have come to Maui for years and we always love to get our shave ice here. So many possible combinations to make. My personal favorite is the Hawaiian Root Beer Float. But so many great ones and many adventurous ones too. The staff is always super friendly and if something isnt right they will fix it.

Worth the wait! They definitely do it best! Indecisive? Go with one of their suggested pairings. Keiki size looked huge and may be the right choice, but mmmm could have polished off the regular size on a sunny summer afternoon.

I went to Maui with the specific goal of going to Ululanis as soon as I could get there which wound up being right before it closed on our last night there so I cut it pretty close...but it was incredibly worth it. Even right at closing there was a long line and I absolutely understand; I would have waited an hour or more just to get one. The staff was so friendly and superhumanly fast.I had passion fruit, peach, and tigers blood which was so delicious that Im making myself sad that Im not there right now eating it. I ate it walking through town back to our car and I finished it before I even got to the car which was not far away. Its a lovely memory of great food, a gorgeous town, and my inability to make something good last longer.Definitely stop by if you can! And review the flavors first...there are a lot and youll be overwhelmed if youre unprepared!

Justice and Mika are THE best! We visited this place 4 times in Lahaina and we visited the location on Dairy Road 3 times. Wish we could go more often.

Have to say that after waiting over half an hour in some very intense afternoon sun I was thinking that there was no way that it was going to be worth the wait, but I was wrong, it really was.Something about the texture of their shave ice in combination with the flavorings really worked. We were all big fans and will definitely be back.

YES. THE WAIT IS WORTH IT!!!!!!Party in the Mouth…… that’s what I ordered. The wife got the Li Hing Mui, pickled mango and calamansi! Both wonderful flavor combinations that are not available or traditional in our neck of the woods. Also got the free powder on top which is the red stuff. They have ice cream flavors (3) to go underneath the shave ice as well.This place is also off the beaten path and the area around it is mostly deserted now but we’ll worth the stop and wait.

Worth the wait. The lines are getting bigger, however the staff works fast, and in a stedy pace. The gentleman attending us was very friendly and made small talk. The shave ice was delicious as always, even my mom that does not like cold stuff enjoy it very much. I ordered the No ka oi with mochi on top, and macadamia nut ice cream on the bottom.

I went from Hawaiian shaved ice doubter to a true believer.I was a skeptic of Hawaiian shaved ice. This is partly because I grew up eating Korean Bingsoo shaved ice, which in my head seemed superior to just ice and fruit syrup. But Ululanis really surprised me, perhaps in part because they go extra and offer a lot more than just ice and fruit syrup.We got the popular combo called Na Ka Oi (The Best), which had mango, coconut, and passion fruit. Below the shaved ice we had macadamia nut ice cream, which was absolutely delicious and we immediately made note to go buy some macadamia nut ice cream on the way home. We topped it off with the Snow Cap (sweet condensed milk) and haupia cream, which made the entire dessert out of this world.

I mean, taking ice and turning it into this doesn’t make you think “this will be delicious” but it somehow turns out that way. Ululani’s makes light, fluffy ice with all kinds of options for fillers, toppings, and flavors. I went with Mac nut ice cream, fresh mochi, and the rising sun flavor combo. The ice cream was hidden under the shave ice, and hitting it was a nice treat partway through. The mochi I could have taken or left, but it added a chewy texture to those bites. And the flavor combo was good, with green tea being my favorite.Be sure to stop in and definitely try things you wouldn’t normally. They will answer questions for you and definitely won’t lead you astray.

Okay. Good Shaved Ice, great presentation, and good service. When they ask for a tip, if you say no then they instantly dislike you. (I know It’s important to tip, but they are getting paid to do this, they aren’t paid like waiter/waitresses are)

Soooo amazing ! I had Korean shaved ice before and didn’t think it was too great. This is a whole other story- the ice is so fine and the ice cream on the bottom makes an amazing combination. They put a lot of syrup so it tastes sweet and delicious, the flavor really seeps into every nook and cranny!!

I got the secret menu item of Better Sunset which is passionfruit, guava and mango with macadamia nut ice cream. It was delicious for a sunny day. Long lines are expected but a tasty local treat.

Ululanis is the best shaved ice in Hawaii, and one of the best in the United States. I highly recommend this place! Dont let the long line fool you. This is worth the wait. They have so many flavor combinations that I have not tried yet that are definitely worth getting. I always order the same flavors when I order shaved ice, that is: blue raspberry, grape, and tigers blood. Ululanis was by far the best shaved ice that Ive ever had. Thank you Ululanis for making everyone, including me, smile and say, Wow, this is amazing!

The line was intimidatingly long and we were wondering if it was worth it… IT WAS WORTH IT!!!! The ice is SO smooth— it’s not even close to the traditional carnival sno cone ice. If you go get shaved ice anywhere in Maui, get it here!

This place slaps. The staff was the definition of good vibes. The music... immaculate, the ice... stunning, the flavor selection... expansive. There were also a bunch of cats around which just made the experience so much better. Overall 10/10

Expect a long line- shave ice is a MUST when visiting Hawaii. However, the line does move fast and the service is great. The employees whip out shave ice pretty fast. there’s a fantastic selection of flavors, including 9 sugar free flavors for the calorie conscious and diabetic folks out there. My recommendation, especially if you haven’t tried it yet, is the Li Hing Mui flavor (not SF). You can also add Li Hing Mui powder on any shave ice free of charge. It’s $1.50 extra, but i highly recommend adding mochi on your shave ice- it adds that perfect finishing touch.

The first night we had it both my husband and I thought it was the BEST thing in the world!!! But the second night we had it it was just ok. I mean the people there were SUPER nice, but it was very busy the second night we were there and they had at least 3 ice machines going and the ice we got was more like a snocone than shaved ice (maybe the blades needed sharpened?) We also had to ask for extra syrup because half of the ice was completely white, so the second trip was just disappointing when the first was so good...

Great presentation and service. Ends up with more of a sorbet texture than a shaved texture. Gets a little chunky near the bottom. Still a top tear place regardless.

Expect a long wait. Theres always, and I mean ALWAYS, a long line. We waited about 40 minutes and It seemed to get busier after. Everyone was very friendly. It was great and refreshing, especially on a sunny day.

After many taste tests and team discussion, Ululani’s is the winner! Our favorite flavor combo ended up being the Haleakala flavor with added toasted coconut flakes. The shops in Paia and Lahaina had the best consistency of quality on our visits.

Ive been coming here for years. Its honestly one of our highlights for each trip to Maui. However this year things seem to be different. We ordered 3 different flavors from their recommended list. All flavors were bland. Its like theyre watering down their syrups. Couldnt even taste the coconut at all. Their snow cap was definitely watered down. Ive never seen sweetened condensed milk flow like that before. The ice definitely didnt have that awesome texture like before. It was crusty and crunchy. Totally disappointed in their product especially after waiting over an hour in line.

Loved this shave ice!! So smooth and delicious! Always a long line at this front street location and parking is hard to find. One night after a long day we paid $10 for parking and walked over to find a line much too long. The next time we tried we had taken an uber to front street to avoid the parking situation and the line was shorter. If this location had parking it would be magical! But it’s worth your time even without!

Best shave ice I’ve ever had! We came back 2 more times because it was so good. The first time I tried it with a scoop of coconut ice cream underneath. While it was very tasty, it wasn’t totally necessary. The staff was super helpful in deciding what flavors to put together and which combinations to recommend. I personally liked the green tea and coconut together. The shave ice isn’t actually very icy and has a very light, airy texture. This is a definite must try place in Maui!

I knew this was a thing in Hawaii, I just didn’t realize how good it would be! I love the endless flavor options and combinations you can get. The shave ice was perfect, and I added a snow cap and coconut ice cream, just incredible! Gotta try our Ululani’s if you are in the neighborhood!

Everytime we go to Maui, our first stop is Ululanis! The shave ice is so soft & fine, the flavors are so true, and the options as are nearly endless. I tell everyone planning a trip to Maui that Ululanis is a must do! (Pictured are a mango/pineapple with a snow cap & chocolate/raspberry with a snow cap. Snow cap is topped with condensed milk, which adds a creamy sweetness. I believe they both have macadamia nut ice cream under the shave ice.)

What a wonderful treat! Light, fluffy and flavorful - everything you would want in a Hawaiian shaved ice. Service was fast and friendly. There are so many flavors from which to choose. I added vanilla ice cream to my pineapple shaved ice and it was heavenly. BYW we purchased the medium. They are a very good size. Can’t wait to go back.

So refreshing on a hot day. Pineapple next to coconut was the best combo. Cherry, Mango, and root beer were the best individual flavors. Ice cream in the bottom makes it even better. This was by far the best dessert we had on our entire trip.

I have been coming to Maui for years and to this shaved ice location for a very long time. I have even brought family and friends here so they could also enjoy the experience. Anytime I have been there its been 100% the best shaved ice we ever tasted and friends and family agree. Tonights experience was the biggest disappointment I have ever had here. The taste was bland at best and we even took the first order back to have it remade and it was not any better than the first one that was made. I asked specifically for Tigers Blood to be put on top of the shaved ice and if was there it was not apparent - typically you can see it running down all over the ice. In the past they also have asked. that if you wanted more juice to just come up and ask and they would add more. We have never had to do so as they always put way more on it than expected. The 1st problem tonight began when the person making our order wanted us to wear a different mask than we had on (much to our surprise) but we did exactly what was asked and put a mask (one he gave us) over the top of our mask we already had on. The person taking our order was great and apologized but the person making our order had a real attitude. Again this was the last of many trips to this location for their world famous shaved ice. I would have hoped I could rate this a 5 star and frankly Im one to not make much of a stink when something like this goes on but tonight I just had to let others know - there is better shaved ice elsewhere!! Dont waste your time standing in line for what is nothing more than shaved ice with no flavor. I honestly have stated better snow! You would be better off heading down the street to Lapperts and get yourself some ice cream..

Loved this place! They were meticulous in the creation of each shaved ice, carefully chiseling it into a perfect shape. Once the ice is shaved perfectly they then poke holes into the ice to allow the flavor to permeate the magnificent creation. Definitely the best shaved ice Ive ever touched my lips to.

BEST shaved ice ever! I am the most indecisive person- but I loved all of the combos I tried here. The menu can be a bit overwhelming if it is your first time and the line is short. The most important thing is to get macadamia nut gelato on the bottom and condensed milk those with whatever flavor combo you like is going to be amazing. SO GOOD!

Expect there’s always be a line although the line moving quite quickly & smoothly. We are quite a big group so we ordered few bowls & different flavors.It seems our favorite flavors are lychee & mango more than pineapple, guava, coconut, passion fruit.We also like the macadamia ice cream at the bottom of the bowl before the shaved ice.

The banana flavouring actually resembled banana reasonably well. The chocolate was unsurprisingly a little watery. Keiki size worked well for our entire party. Together we also tried coconut, vanilla, and root beer. Flavourings were hit and miss wrt their namesakes although all were at least sweet. The snow cap (sweetened condensed milk) did not seem to make a difference.

Try with mochi and azuki as well as Mac nut ice-cream and top with li hing mui powder - and wow !!

This place is on all the to-go lists for Maui. I was skeptical but it definitely holds up to the hype. Really soft shaved ice and the ice cream at the bottom is a great addition. I later has shaved ice at other places in Maui but none were better than Ululani’s!

After a thorough testing of the shaved ice in Kihei and Lahaina, I believe I can declare that Ululanis is the best. I thought it was rather bold of them to make the claim on signs for the line, but they were right.Their ice/snow was the softest and their flavors delicious. They were liberal with the snowcap, icecream was great. They even include straws so you can finish it out without making a mess.BUT they charge like they know they are the best, as they were a little more expensive than the others. Im on vacation though, so Im ok dropping an extra buck or two for the best of the shaved ices.

Really really good! The ice was so smooth with no chunks in it. Perfectly flavored and all of the flavors tasted like the real fruit (we had mango, guava, and passion fruit). Got macadamia nut ice cream which was super tasty as well! Even had real nuts mixed in to give it a great kick!

Went to this shaved ice place 4 times with my family while we were in Hawaii. Super friendly staff and tasty shaved ice! We all loved adding macadamia nut ice cream to the bottom.

Great shave ice, just like all the other Ululanis locations. No tables with holes at this one but there are places to sit and enjoy your shave ice. As always be sure to get the snowcap and the ice cream in the middle, both are a must. If youre lucky the wait will only be 15 minutes but on a busy night it may be half an hour but its worth it.

We have gone here every day of our seven-day vacation! It’s so incredibly delicious. Tiana from the Lahaina location was so helpful and gave me a free helping of the homemade coconut ice cream which got me totally addicted. We will be going through withdrawals when we get home! 🤤

Ululanis is a must visit on Maui! The line may seeming daunting at first, but its worth the wait. That have a lot of options, all of which are good in their own right. The staff is very accommodating and are quick on their feet! The time between ordering and receiving the shaved ice is very short. I highly recommend you visit Ululanis if youre in Lahaina!

I took my nephew here even though he didnt want to try something new...picky eater! Hah!The staff was very helpful and patient while he chose his 3 flavors. He wanted the rainbow 3 flavor option, but said he didnt like the banana flavor. They let him choose a different yellow flavor to complete the rainbow. And they said if he didnt like it, he could choose a new one! Awesome service! He ended up loving it!Great place and definitely recommend adding the macadamia nut ice cream to your shaved ice!

Love coming here to try some Hawaiian shave ice! They have a variety of flavour and topping to choose from. We had the Ulu (medium) size with haupia cream and it costs about ~$8. For the syrup, we chose mango, melon and passsion fruit and all three were winners in my book. The haupia cream tastes like coconut condensed milk and that was good as well. They had a dog that said that you can come back to get more syrup if needed for frre but ours was enough.

The customer service here is wonderful and entertaining! I love the enthusiasm of the employees. That alone grants them the stars! This became our nightly thing to do in Lahaina. We had shaved ice at different stores and nothing compares to this company’s shaved ice. The texture is smoother and the flavour has quite the umph! We enjoyed every single bowl we ordered (like 9 bowls over the course of our stay there hahah) we also had another bowl at their other location right by the airport just before heading back home. Highly recommend the “Na Ka Oi” coconut, passion fruit, mango flavour with coconut ice cream on the bottom. YUM!

Wish I wouldnt have spent my money here. Was standing in line (outside, open air) and they requested I put my mask on. Ok, thats fine. Rules are rules (even if theres no scientific evidence to support mask wearing outside, and regardless if youre vaccinated or not), so I put my mask on. Ok, good. Mask on, ready to order.Once I got to the counter to order, a different employee asked if I had a different mask as the one I had on looked see through. I told him it was a safe as a surgical mask. He said Whatever, but ok. I told him I can provide the link and info about the mask if he would like but he ignored me, put our order in and received our shave ice.I dont mind following a few rules at an establishment, but I dont think you should disrespect the customers. Very sorry I went here. The shave ice is overrated too, and they have a lot of ice that doesnt get covered by syrup.Note: I use SHEMA97 Mask by a company called HelmetFitting.

This is a Maui favorite, shave ice is considered a signature dessert/snack that is specific to Hawaii. Ululani’s embodies that exact dish as well as kind faces and good service. Choose from over 30 flavors coming in several sizes and colors. One of the negatives I experienced was the wait time after my order. For somewhere as popular as Ululani’s, I expected they would have it down to an art of how to whip out shave ice with ease, instead I waited nearly 20 minutes along with about 4 others. As well, as they messed up my order by placing the wrong flavor choice. Perhaps with the growing amount of customers, they will increase in speed and efficiency.
