They didnt screw the cover on good after an oil change and Im not too convinced that they did a tire rotation when it was supposed to be included from the coupon I had.

I went here because it was the closest to me. I had a tear in the wall of my tire and I had another tire in my car to replace it with. Barely even made it there, and they refused to change my tire because I didnt have a brand new tire.

Had to sit outside in the hot sun under a tent but they get the job done.

A few months back my car started making screeching noises and it got gradually worse everyday. I finally took it to Midas for a consolation. When I came back to pick up my car they told me I needed a new steering wheel and that it would cost $2300 for the total repair. I left in shock due to the cost and I decided to go to a different shop to get a second opinion (Priam’s Automotive) and they took a quick look at the car and fixed it for $35 dollars. Apparently my car DID NOT need a new steering wheel and they were just taking advantage of the fact that I was a girl who came in alone.

Scammers!!! I bought some tires from Midas a couple years ago with a road hazard warranty that was suppose to cover the life of the tire and free tire rotations. I needed to get them rotated and was losing air in one tire. I made an appointment and waited 2 hours sitting outside on a hot day because their waiting room is closed for covid. Finally a lady tells me that my tire has unfixable side wall damage and that with my warranty it is still going to be over $100 to replace the tire, because the only one in stock is $50 more than the one I bought, plus depreciation of the tire, labor, tire disposal, and the purchase of a new mandatory tire protection plan. I argued that my warranty was a free replacement so she goes back inside and another hour later comes back with a modified quote for a cheaper tire that would have to be shipped from the mainland that was still $90! 3 hours later, I left without even having the tires rotated (apparently they couldnt rotate them without selling me a new one) and they didnt even have the curtesy to add air to the tire so I could drive on it til I got a new one. Then a day later I got a email from the corporate office saying that nothing was covered under my useless warranty and the two tires that got replaced before under warranty shouldnt have been. And this is the best part. I took it to the dealership for an oil change and they found a nail in the tire and plugged it for $30, no sidewall damage! So either they are incompetent at their jobs or they were deliberately trying to scam me. Either way, Im out $30 that should have been covered and now Id rather pay someone else to rotate the tires than go back there.

They over charged me n didnt fix one the problems after I paid n took longer than expected

I went today at Midas Beretania to get my cars oil change. I got the coupon for $40 for a conventional oil change but decided to upgrade for a synthetic oil change instead for an additional $40. Its pretty pricey for an oil change but I would rather pay that than going to my car dealership paying over $160 for an oil change and other maintenance services (pretty just checking fluids level and tire rotation).The experience with the salesperson lady was very pleasant. She was really nice and very patient after I changed my mind and go for synthetic oil instead of the conventional motor oil. The service was very fast, too. I was in and out in about an hour.Heres where it gets sketchy, the service comes with a free tire rotation. I had a habit of marking each tire of my car from #1-#4 to make sure they would always rotate my tires but guess what, the mechanic didnt really do it. The numbers on the tires were all in the same place where I originally marked it. I was also outside for most of the time when the mechanic/tech was tending my car and never had I seen him rotate cars tires so it further validates that they werent rotated. I have limited knowledge about cars so Im just hoping that the tech at least properly did an oil change, put synthetic oil, and changed the oil filter. I dont know if this is just an oversight by the mechanic. I just hope they are performing all the services that were paid/agree upon or not charging customers of services not done.

Never again MIDAS! I went there with a running/drivable car. The only complaint I had was the sound on the rear tires when I moved forward. After disassembling the wheels, all of a sudden, they told me the car isnt driveable and they have to replace brake parts! The cost shot up to 370$++!!! Crazy! I would have driven the car somewhere else, but then the car was not drivable!!! Felt like I was held hostage. In the past, they quoted me ridiculous prices for changing leaking radiator hose. Drove to JiffyLube and was quoted 1/3 of what Midas gave me. Now, didnt have a choice since I couldnt drive the car somewhere else! BEWARE! Dont go to Midas! Midas touch means, you will LOSE MONEY, unnecessarily!!!!they rip people off.And dont believe their response below this review, pretending they care about the negative experience and want to talk about it. Trust me, NOTHING happened when I emailed. Its just a PR ploy!

Mostly quick, mostly professional. Been a couple of times and theyve taken care of me promptly. Their prices are probably right for Honolulu, but like so many things here, it does seem higher than maybe it should be.

Midas well do it yourself. They wanted $2200 to do a full drum replace and master cylinder. The parts listed on their quote were 4 times market price. Labor was $185/hr. Pretty standard. They couldn’t even tell me if my car had ABS or not. They said they’d call me back and never did. I can’t see a damn good reason to ever come back to this place. Even for something simple. 4 times market price on parts. Who the hell buys a brake masteir cylinder for $200. Midas well do it yourself

Came here for an oil change; service was on time and quick. But the 5 stars come from a miscommunication in oil and prices. The ladies at the counter and mechanic were great at rectifying the situation; making sure my Jeep got the correct oil without up charging me from the original agreement. Ill definitely come back.

There’s a reason people rate this place poorly. If you aren’t very knowledgeable about cars and car repairs, stay away from this place!Within one week, I visited Midas three times to get a safety inspection. Each time, they found only one problem, and asked for $165 to further investigate. Each time, I left and fixed the problem, only to be told there was another problem when I returned. The three problems were solved with a new headlight ($15.99), windshield wiper fluid ($9.99), and a 10A blade fuse ($0.25). To fix these three problems it cost me $27. If I had paid them to just diagnose the problem, it would have costed me $500.Take the time to call around and find a place that respects you and your hard earned money. Although I didn’t waste my money at this place, I did unfortunately waste a lot of time.

I recently got my jeep water pump replaced at Midas 8 months ago. The water pump they installed started leaking after 7 months of use. Midas wanted to charge me another $1,000 to get it replaced due to there subpar installation. I looked around to see if I could get it replaced cheaper and found a better auto shop which could replaced it for a third of the price. Took it to that shop and they fixed it within a day.

This review is for the customer service at the counter, not the service my car received. The car service was great. The customer service at the counter was not.Ive taken my car for service here numerous times. Most of the time, I experience courteous customer service. This morning however, was different.I had an appointment at 0830 but arrived at the shop at 0700 willing to wait. Upon approaching the counter I simply asked if they were open already. The lady didnt respond or look up from her computer screen. I could already see that she appeared upset about something. I informed her of my 0830 appointment. She verified my 0830 appointment but still did not look up from the computer screen.She said that she would need my registration and proof of insurance. She made no indication that she could take me early. I asked if I should give her the paperwork now or at 0830. Visually upset she finally looked up and said that if they were going to do the safety inspection, she would need the registration and insurance. It was only at this time that she said since I was early, they could do the safety inspection now.Ive seen this person with a cheerful attitude in the past but today she was not cheerful, not courteous, and very unprofessional. I didnt get a name, but on the receipt it states that the salesperson was T. Simon.

They did an oil change on my car. It went from 40 something to over $170 dollars over 3 conversations. When I went to pick up my car it went beyond $200 after the last conversational total. Im not even sure if they actually did the work or maybe they broke something on my car and had to replace it then made me pay for it. Beware. Dont ever take your vehicle to midas. Youre better off at Sears Automotive while they are still on the planet. No lies. No games.

I went there for starter problem. Turn the key 1 click then it starts. They replaced the starter costs total $480.46 7/20/19. Problems with new starter slow crank winding noise 1 to 3 winds then starts, left early from work the 24 th they had no problems in starting it I saw them move the car forward stop and start it, they said its was OK no problems, I guess they have the Midas touch . Lol..... I took the car home and still having problems with it, so Friday the 26 took it back over there. I asked the customer service to come and witness the problem Im having. Turn the key to start 1 winding then starts. I left my car overnight to be serviced the next day. Called during the day about my car, they ordered another starter coming from Waipahu must be coming by RAIL, cause the part never arrived today, I have to CALL Monday. I am a Old customer.

After charging me nothing for diagnosing my dying battery, they were kind enough to spend nearly a half-hour calling around town to help find a shop that had the right replacement in stock. Top notch.

I went to this Midas for a Safety Check. Appointment preferred BTW. I am so very pleased with the courteous and professional service by Wes. He took the time to clean the area where the sticker was and remove the old VOID sticker that should have been removed from the last Safety Check. ( not Midas BTW ). This place is so shady.Every morning before I start driving, I would activate the windshield washer to clean the front window of my car.And so I did the same on the day before I went in for oil change service at Midas on Beretania Street. After the service, the guy who serviced my car told me that my windshield washer pump was broken and that I needed to replace it. I told him I was very surprised because I had used it right before I took it in for service. Needless to say, I was frustrated and didnt believe him. I didnt want to replace it at the time.I went home and went on YouTube to determine if I could fix it myself. Guess what? I found out that the service guy remove the windshield washer tube connector and he also hid the tunes behind the insulation underneath the hood so I would never see it. That was really shady.Midas had this low price oil change coupon to get more business but they did something to my car to get addition business. Thats a real shame.I will never go back there for any service. Jiffy Lube has my business now.

I dont know why I kept going back. Too trusting. Ive had good service on the front end but nothing but problems the moment I leave. Go in needing an oil change, come out with everything else is wrong. One visit they forgot to put the cabin filter back in and they wanted to charge me for it the next time. One visit all my check engine lights came on an hour after leaving, and they said theyd charge me $140 diagnostics fee the very next morning. Constantly replacing tires I get from there. One visit I got my brakes replaced and and a rubbing sound/feeling that they couldnt detect but I knew was there. Its becoming a joke and my trust is gone.

Honest a zero star. After $3000 my vehicle still had the exact same issue plus other issues that came up after the maintenance they performed. I brought it back instantly complaining about the issues, they re-diagnosed and said that other maintenance was needed and that the new problems accuring had nothing to do with any maintenance they performed. I would have to pay another $1600 according to them. Straight garbage and ripoffs

Made an appointment for a safety check at 2:00, got there about 15 min early, checked in, and were told it would be about a 30-40 minute wait. They did not seem particularly busy the entire time I was waiting and it looked like some cars that got there quite a bit after got looked at/serviced before my car. They then charged me for the wrong car at about 3:00 and at that point when I asked how much longer it would be the receptionist went and asked and they said that their ipad isnt working and they have to wait until its back up before they could complete the safety check and had no time reference for when this would be done. I waited about another 15 minutes at which point they said the the Ipad wasnt going to work so they couldnt complete the check. They did not appologize for wasting an hour and a half of my time and did not even offer to reschedule me for a different day/time.

Im really disappointed in this Midas location. I went in just to get my brake pads replaced and they made it a really difficult process. What they said should only have taken 2 hours to fix ended up taking close to 4, and made me late to one of my classes. The only reason I even come to Midas anymore is because of the brake pad warranty, but Im not even sure if thats necessarily worth the hassle of going to a location where people are just constantly finding problems with my vehicle.

I just came from there then went elsewhere since I got a very rude reception by someone, likely a technician, who just kept irritably gesturing and never bothered to come talk to me even after I sat in my car for 5 minutes. Not going there again, ever!

I went in to get a hard line fixed for my brakes and the guy Glen, said they dont have the tool or the part for it. Midas why dont u have the tools or parts to fix cars? Then he was trying to sell me things I dont need. Waste of time. I will never go there again.
