I shop at Ace in Fond du Lac because I figure it’s a small business and not a big box store. I like to support local small businesses. However, while most of the employees are helpful and knowledgeable and eager to help, a few employees are downright rude. The manager, Kay, is a prime example of rude. I have pretty much had enough of her attitude. I have been told that’s just the way she is! BS. I deserve to be treated like a customer by employees that value my business! Tom Pickart is outstanding for his knowledge and being helpful. Kay is a PITA!

The only thing I didnt like is they couldnt copy my car key. I still love this place

Great little hardware store. May not have everything the big stores have but they have a lot including being able to just purchase 1 or 2 screws instead of a whole pack. Most of the staff is helpful but there are a couple there that its an inconvenience to them if you have a question.

Looking for a certain bolt or nut size you cant find any where else. With their wide selection you will find it here.

Exactly as I remember it 30+ years ago. Always has the odd items I need with ought having to buy a full bag or box or roll etc. Ill keep going here as much as I can!

Excellent as always! No matter what the name of store is, many of the same great, friendly staff members whove been there for years and know their stuff! Definitely one of Fondys lesser known gems for hardware, fasteners, tools, etc!

You need it, theyve got it. Male toy store. I needed esoteric part for a Toro Snow blower. They had it, and the gentleman who found it in the part/ maintenance department is a gem. Probably old enough to have originally opened the place. You dont find people like that in a big box. Thank you all

I absolutely enjoy this hardware store!The people are friendly and you get that warm/ local hardware store feeling.They always have what Im looking for.Even if the season is about to end they still have it. Unlike big box stores where they remove items from the shelves to make room for Christmas the day after labor day.

Best place for Hardware in the city of Fond du Lac it may not be the biggest box in the world but theyve almost always got what you need for taking care of your home prices are what youd expect 10 15% over Menards but the help you get is 50% better than Menards or Home Depot or Lowes

The best and only true hardware store in fond du lac. Staff is all is willing to help. When I need just a few of something for a repair project this is the only place to go. There are nuts, bolts, screws are the best quality

They have a lot of great stuff that is sometimes hard to find anywhere else. Great place to shop for things that you didnt know you needed and those you did.

Clerk was rude and very curt with me plastic 2 hose connector was cracked in the package I threw my receipt away before trying it my bad dont start out expecting junk from Ace

Always have what Im looking for, along with excellent customer service. If you need paint or stain or varnish this is where to go, they can match any existing finish just take in a sample of the wood with you.

We are so lucky to have Kitz and Pfeil in town. This is a REAL hardware store, stocking one or two of nearly everything you could ever need. On top of that, the staff is customer oriented and extremely knowledgeable. Kay can help you figure out any project solution from your roof to basement and everything in between. Tom is, hands down, the best paint and stain guy within 1,000 miles of Fond du Lac. Not only will he recommend the right product, his eye for color is unmatched.I know this sounds like hyperbole, but places like K&P don’t exist in the Big Box world much anymore. Like I said, we’re lucky to call them neighbors.

Kitz & pfeil hardware in fond du lac is your dads hardware with a very modern updated approach. Km Tim and the staff offer help and guidance with about any project you need to do. The staff does it in a friendly hometowne approach. They also have a great paint department. As well as a lawn and garden equipment.

Im done.. Bought a lawn mower a couple years ago and had great experience with that dept.. Went back several times the last being 6/7/16 and just absolutely horrid. How can such a small store have the feel of over busy employees. Grumpy grumpy grumpy and no people skills. I appreciate the local businesses and I am willing to pay the inflated prices for products that have been on the shelf way to long. I cant get past the absolute horrible customer service. When someone says hi Just say hi back and dont act like your about to fall over and croak, dude behind service desk should retire.

Everyone here is always so helpful and kind. This is my first go to place when looking for household items.

The store is usually very helpful and the workers are usually quite friendly but there is one person who is very grumpy. I called to ask about a service they do and was transferred to a man who was very short and rude with me. I got off the phone and felt very upset. Now I am afraid to stop or call because I might have to deal with him again. So sad that one person can affect a business in such a negative way.

Great hardware stores are hard to find but this place is definitely one of them. Knowledgeable staff who actually help you find what you need and give you advice when you ask too.
