After visiting several different dealerships my family and I decided to drive 45 minutes to fairfax to checkout a car that we had seen online. We met John at Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned and he gave me the impression that he genuinely cared about my wants and needs in a vehicle. We also met Lonnell and together him and John had my family smiling and laughing as I completed the paperwork to purchase my vehicle. They also made sure that my family and I were 100% satisfied with the vehicle I was buying by ironing out the minor issues that we had with the vehicle. They are both military veterans and provided me with a warm and memorable experience. Thanks you two, I greatly appreciate your generosity and efficiency.

I arrived and dropped my car 10 minutes earlier than my appointment time just for regular oil change and tire rotation. Estimate was 1 hour 30 minutes for work.Finally, it took exact 3 hours and I see my car is pulling out from the garage.I asked service agent why it took this long and he told me didnt know the reason.Okay, Im in the car now.Car has done with some messed up.oil spilled around engine bay and oil on front door handle and center armrest.Another issue,2021 sonata Hybrid comes with 3 year/36,000 miles complimentary service for oil change and tire rotation.So how often do I get an oil change?I visited 3 different dealerships and all said differently. So I searched online as following,Hyundai website is recommended oil change in every 3000 miles for regular oil and 7500 miles for synthetic oil.Dealer service asked me to pay extra for synthetic oil for 7000 miles.I mentioned regular oil is good for me to not paying any extra, and dealer service still told me come back within 7000 miles, not 3000 miles.Please inform about any description for complimentary oil change.When do I need to have oil change with regular oil?Next time I will go to different location anyway.Thanks.Gil

After taking my car to another dealer that told me I need to have the transmission replaced, I took it to Fairfax Hyundai. I had the paperwork from the first dealer which included the diagnostic code found on the car. It said the transmission fluid pressure switch was faulty. I don’t need a new transmission. I called Fairfax Hyundai and spoke with a service advisor, John. I asked him if he could fix it. He said yes. They just had a car in with the same problem and they were able to repair it. He went and spoke with the technician just to be sure. I had a few other questions and again, he went back to the technician to verify. He looked up the part and quoted me about $1250 parts and labor. I dropped the car off Thursday evening and received a call the following Wednesday saying the car was complete but they didn’t need the part they quoted me and had to order a different part. So, it was actually only $550. They provided excellent and speedy service. They even completed a few open recalls on the car. I would definitely take my car back to them.

Great experience at this dealership. Its very tough right now to be a buyer looking to lease a new car given the inventory shortages across brands. I went to 5+ dealerships in the area for different brands, but Fairfax Hyundai was by far the best experience. Joseph was willing to negotiate and offered a fair lease price for a Sonata that fit within my budget. Very refreshing to visit a dealership that is not playing games or up charging car prices given the inventory shortage. Approval & finance process was quick and I left with the car I wanted the same day, highly recommend Fairfax Hyundai.

Worst dealership experience ever. I called in asking if they would put my license plates on for me on my new Hyundai, I was told yes and that I could come in at any time. When I get there I talk to the manager, Leo Blakeney, and the moment I indicated that I had bought my car elsewhere, he started berating me and even told me that I had some balls to come in to get my license plates installed. Very classy. Whoever is the owner of this dealership needs to know that Leo is doing a disservice to your prospective customers as a result of his condescending and disrespectful behavior. He could have easily told me that they couldnt do it and handled it more cordially. I had previously planned on coming in to get service work done here on the new car but will now be taking my business elsewhere.

If this dealership is close and convenient to you and you are looking at hyundai, then this is a pretty good dealership. They dont jerk you around on pricing (you should still comparison shop) and aside from the typical attempts to sell you relatively useless things like undercoating and gap insurance, the buying experience is pretty painless.You also get free oil changes and safety inspections as long as you own your car.AND you get a free car wash with every oil change at their car wash that has been out of order since at least February.But aside from the out of order car wash, this place is solid.

Great car purchase experienceBuying a car is one of the tasks I hate the most. Don made the process a breeze . From explaining the car features, package options to negotiating the deal . All felt so easy . The financial department did their best to finalize the paper work in a timely manner and didnt put so much pressure to sell us all the extra warranties . But they took their time to explain each of them and their value .

Very disappointed in my experience with bringing my car in for service. I have had consistent air conditioning problems with my 2015 Hyundai for a few years. I had no air conditioning in my car. Brought it in to be looked at and was charged $220 for a dye test to look for leaks. I drove my vehicle for a few days and brought it back to look for a leak. I was told they could not find and leak. They added more Freon (because it had leaked out AGAIN) but still insisted that they couldn’t find a leak. Drove it around for a few days and then the ac stopped working AGAIN so I took it back and sure enough they said there was no Freon because it had leaked out. AGAIN they told me that there was no leak and they continued to add more Freon. Basically they understood there was a leak because where else would the Freon go but made no attempt to inspect further and find out where it was coming from. So frustrating.Decided to take my vehicle to an independent car repair place where they identified two leaks within an hour of inspecting my vehicle.

Hi All,I took Hyundai 2020 Sonata in December 2020 zero miles from Fairfax Hyundai, after first service I noticed that some noises coming from Engine or transmission, I given so many times complaints to service department but no use they all the time telling that sorry we can’t here any noises but other outside mechanics they drive the car and noticed some issue with your car that mechanic told me please go to the Showroom ASAP.And again last week I took an appointment with Fairfax Hyundai service department regarding same issue noises coming from Engine or transmission, they ask me to come at 11:30AM, From the service department one guy Hi sir how can help you !I explained total issues he told me can you please wait at front desk so one of our mechanic is going to drive your vehicle and check the issue it’s take around 3hrs I told him ok sir no problem I’ll wait outside.After 3hrs I’m just walking out side of the show room I saw my car at same place I was wonder again.Same person from service department he told me that sir one of our mechanic he test drive your vehicle he didn’t notice any noice, I told him sir I’ll go with him and explain what’s go on he told me that sir can you come back day after tomorrow I said ok sure sir !!After getting in to my car I was shocked he didn’t drive my vehicle at least they didn’t touch because morning my odometer miles is 242 later also same 242 miles so changes at least .5 miles also my car keys is also at same place

This is a LEMON car!! I bought a hyundai venue from fairfax Hyundai on December 3, 2020.. After less than 2 months of use, there were two brake problems! The gearbox was broken this time! The car stopped in the middle of the highway (the car stoop by itself) and there was my baby in the car! Fortunately, the vehicle behind braked in time to avoid a car accident! This car has a very serious safety hazard! It is strongly not recommended to buy this car! Its better to buy another brand !

His manger Rick was also great and worked with us by getting the payments that fit our budget, and lastly finance was great and didnt try to sell us packages that we wont use and only recommended what will be useful for us. I cant believe how stress-free buying an SUV was from here. Leo, the manager, is fantastic to work with -- he is able to see things from the customer viewpoint. He even set up a one-on-one tutorial for the next day after I bought our SUV to make sure I was comfortable with all of the SUVs functions. Unreliable service with no accountability. With a long trip coming up, I left my car to be maintained through the work day and when I picked my car up, I found my passenger window to be down, seemingly all day. Seeing how my passenger seat and carpet were completely soaked and water had collected in various parts of the door, I immediately attempted to get the water out of the window control button, to find that it did not function properly. Arguably upset, I pulled around to ask for assistance, which apparently was limited to wiping the door down and providing me a quote for $350. The rep dismissively explained that it was not due to the rain and invited me to pour water on rest of my window control modules to test it. Seeing how I didnt want to walk away with a $700 quote after my own testing, I walked away. I wont even mention any names, as it does not matter - if this is how much they care they bring to work, I cannot trust them with my car or my safety.

Fairfax Hyundai auto services is awesome. They are great about scheduling and being flexible, they are thorough with their assessments, and do a timely job for oil changes and other work needed. Can be pretty expensive if doing anything more than the standard oil change or maintenance work, but that is expected with dealership auto services. If you bought a Hyundai, I wouldnt take your car anywhere but here.

We bought a Hyundai Sonata in 2015 from this dealership. We had the car serviced at this location, Fairfax VA, on a regular basis. After the 40,000 mile service the car had issues with the turbo and it was found to have a broken piece of spark plug from servicing in the engine – engine was replaced, after 60,000 the car again had engine issues with the turbo and Hyundai replaced another engine. One of the service people told us to sell the car in the next 45,000 miles or it will happen again. Guess what it happened again – another blown engine. We had the car towed to Fairfax service and they choice not to stand behind their POOR service. We tried Hyundai customer service and the attempted to alert the franchise owner but they wanted to stay out of it!!! Franchise owner you should take a good look at your service department, blowing through engines at the expense of the car owner. HYDUNDAI DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT OR SERVICE. Shameful. This group should take some lessons from Subaru and Honda. WHATEVER YOU DO DON’T BUY A HYDUNDAI or at lease from this location!!!

They are either grossly incompetent or liars. Took the car there and they said it needed a transmission estimated cost about 5 thousand. Oh yeah they had a guy that may want to buy the car as is. Got a second opinion at a local shop and found there was a wire that a rodent had chewed through causing the issue. The wire was in plain sight. Fixed for $350. Stay away. I have owned 4 hyundai santa fe’s. Unfortunately every hyundai dealer i have dealt with was basically the same.

UPDATE: the honest mechanic and service advisor, Josh at Hyundai saved me saved me almost $2,000. There was a week wait to get appointment and I was getting ready to go on a road trip so I took my car to another repair shop that is highly rated to check my AC. They told me I needed all this unnecessary work, like transmission fluid flush, break fluid flush, power steering flush, and an engine flush. Oh, they also said I needed new rear struts and shocks. They sent me photos saying color was dark on all my fluids and they must be flashed. Even told me I needed an oil change when I had just changed it. Luckily I called my brother and another friend who told me to run.I waited for my my appointment with Fairfax Hyundai where they told me the only thing wrong was my AC. I told them to please check transmission fluid and other fluids. They said all the fluids are fine, I dont need new anything. Just needed new hose to fix my AC leak. Also, they only charge $220 for a transmission fluid flush. The rip off artist place was going to charge me $320. So if you do need work done, they really do have the best prices and youll have piece of mind too that the work is excellent. Thank you!!!Original Review: After 2 local shops failed to find whats wrong with our 2006 Hyundai Sonata, they were able to find it and resolve the problem. And the prices were really competitive for a dealer. I will now only bring our car here to be serviced and do any repairs.

I went in to fix my headlights. There was a staff available to take my car in as soon as I arrived, and I was told that it will take 1.5 hours, and the car was done right after 1.5 hours. I used the service lounge to wait for the service to be done, and the area was clean and quiet. The headlight was still under the warranty so I didnt have to pay anything out of pocket. Folks at Fairfax Hyundai are alway friendly and courteous, which really helps while I am going through the agony of taking my car in for a service.

My family has been coming to Fairfax Hyundai for nearly all of our maintenance on our Hyundai sedan for the last 5-6 years.Customer service is always great, the repairs are always good, the price is right for the area and quality, Ive never caught them trying to cheat me, and in general they go above and beyond to provide good service at a fair price. That and the decent waiting area are why we keep coming back. Were loyal for as long as well live in the area, and I hope the dealership is as fabulous wherever we live next.It helps that theres a Starbucks across the street and several good places to grab a meal if well be waiting a long time. 🙂

I own a 2013 Hyundai Sonata which I purchased new from Fairfax Hyundai. With the purchase of the new car came “Complimentary Oil Changes and State Inspections for Life” which is what drew me to Fairfax Hyundai’s Service Center. Also, it was convenient to my work and I was provided a shuttle ride if needed to take me to my office. However, I have since learned the ulterior motives of the dealer in providing these complimentary services. Unfortunately, as a female, I was a little too trusting and as a result was exploited repeatedly. Fairfax Hyundai can not be trusted; they have proven undoubtedly that they do not have integrity and in fact are they type of service center that has unethical practices and what most people think of when they picture an auto repair service shop that preys on people, specifically females.In the past 2.5 five years, I have caught the service technician and mechanic not once, but on two occasions outright lie and try to convince me that my car needed service that in fact they had just performed at the recent prior visits. Luckily I had all of my service records and receipts from them to prove it.Called and left messages for the service technician (no return call), service manager (no return call), and finally the director of Fairfax Hyundai Service. Brian Gor Who apologized for the oversight and agreed that should not have happened but was unwilling to refund any money spent in the service department as a result of their recommendations over the years. He acknowledged that it is understood why they have lost my trust. BUT he also made these statements which acknowledge that he is aware of this unethical and dishonest behavior- 1. Hyundai treats women fairly, this happens to our male customers just as often as it does to female customers. 2. The mechanics work off commission (the more items they can charge for, the more they make) and the service advisor is supposed to check the record when a mechanic makes a recommendation so that there are checks and balances.Unethical practices and a lack of integrity to say the least.

Visited the Fairfax Hyundai dealer shop today for oil change and coolant flush. Service advisor Steve H Lee did an outstanding service while I was vising the dealer shop. Clearly explained the process of the service in a kind and courteous manner. The dealer shop was clean and waiting time was reasonable. Would definitely recommend the Fairfax dealer shop! We purchased our 2021 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy in Dec. Our Sales Person was Chris Ganbol. Chris was great! It was a no pressure situation. We got to test drive the Palisade we thought we wanted, we werent planning on purchasing the same day, we came back a few days later and they got a new palisade with White exterior and black interior and Chris was quick to grab the keys and let us drive it. Entire buying process at Fairfax Hyundai was zero pressure, It was truly the best car buying experience we had. We were basically in and out after we chose the specific car we wanted. Chris was super patient while we made our decision. The Sales Manager that negotiated the price of the car, we felt was very fair as we got a great trade in value for our 2019 Santa Fe Ultimate. Working with an auto shop, even if its dealership-operated, is always a gamble... Will I have to shell out tons of money today for one of the most essential tools I own, with no knowledge of what Im being told?At least at this location, the service department is honest, transparent and willing to work with you to make you a repeat customer. In particular, Jason Richardson, whom I worked with for the entire process - from my initial appointment call all the way to hearing updates about my service - was the epitome of the above qualities.After he pulled up my file, he told me what he expected would be necessary for my vehicle, and things he didnt think we needed. This honesty was a breath of fresh air and made me believe he wanted to service my car, not just charge me point-blank for things I didnt need. When some additional time and labor was needed for my vehicle, he called and was transparent about the costs, and the timing. Bought a used Hyundai for my daughter yesterday and have to admit that it was a pleasant experience. We felt that we were treated fairly and with respect, especially by the sales rep, John McMullan, and the Finance Manager, Chong Yoo. We were especially impressed with the extra steps that this dealership takes to ensure the satisfaction of their customers. Things like free lifetime oil changes and state inspections, and they wash your car at each oil change, and John seemed genuinely concerned that we were happy with the deal, and that my daughter felt safe and comfortable with the vehicle.

I went to this store to fix a check engine sign for my Hyundai Elantra. The guy from service told me it is $140 for diagnostic and if I fix the issue with them, they will waive the $140. However, they never waived what was promised and I ended up paying $350 for labor only, for 2 hours(including 1 hour of diagnostic). It seems they are very professional to lie to a customer. I am never going to this place again and you all go there if you are willing to pay extra money.

Don, Anthony, and Leo went above and beyond on our most recent car buying experience. Was shopping for a new Sonata for my wife. After test driving the first, she settled on wanting a sunroof option. My wife and I have been loyal customers of Fairfax Hyundai since we purchased a new Elantra in 2012 and again in 2018 when we purchased a brand new Santa Fe. When we purchased the Elantra in 2012, it came with a Tires for Life incentive which was a big factor in our decision to purchase the vehicle. Recently, while getting the oil changed, we were informed that they had rescinded the tires for life program (which, according to the contract, they were able to do). I was informed that they are now doing a Tires at Cost program. Upon receiving an estimate, I learned that the cost is over $600. I wanted to see if they would be able to do any better than that, since we have been such loyal customers of theirs. Upon speaking with Brain Gore, the general manager, he informed me that we had not kept up with rotating the tires every 12,000 miles and that I should not have even been offered the Tires at Cost deal.My frustration here is two fold: First, a large part of our motivation to purchase the Elantra was due to the Tires for Life program that was rescinded after we had only one set of tires changed that were covered under the incentive program. Second, we almost always (I say almost always because there were some times we went over on the oil change mileage but that doesnt have anything to do with the tires) went with the recommended maintenance for both of our vehicles, so if we didnt get the tires rotated every 12,000 miles, its because they did not inform us that we should have done so. We arent your typical car owners. We follow maintenance advice to the tee, which is illustrated by us spending over $500 just to keep the several lights on the vehicle working, thinking that was part of the required maintenance for the Tires for Life program (we keep records of all our service as you can see in the picture below).This is unfortunate because other than this, we had been happy with Fairfax Hyundai, both with the sales and service team, and were planning to trade the Elantra in towards another vehicle from them in the next year or two.For a company that claims to make most of their money on service, I was surprised that they were willing to lose such loyal customers over a set of tires. Because of this, we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Poor customer service with no follow-through and communication who will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Not sure why Thomas Kim completely wasted our familys time giving us the run around for 10 days. Clearly he has no interest in selling cars.Do not recommend this dealer, and suggest you not fall for anything they may try to tell you in person. Its all talk with nothing behind it. In addition they are way too small to have enough of an inventory of cars you would want to buy. Go elsewhere. We should have gone to Manassas Hyundai to start with and not wasted our time.

I went to change the engine oil.but, they do states inspection...(why?...inspection sticker 06/2021 already done and passed) and then reject a vehicle that has already passed and ask for money...Moreover, it took 4 hours to finish in 1 hour job...I lost time and money.I dont want to buy a Hyundai in the future.

My husband came in ready to leave with a specific model and make. We had an offer in hand, but needed to address a tax exemption my husband qualifies for. My husband wasn’t happy that they couldn’t correct the error because they said “the lady they needed to talk to wouldn’t be able to answer their question until Monday.” Salesperson didn’t give us a business card after requesting one. We wrote our number down for him to text us on Sunday. When he didn’t text on Sunday my husband went to a different dealership and drove a new car home in 2 hours later from Woodbridge Hyundai. Monday came and went with no text message or phone call from the salesperson. We have been shocked by the lack of customer service or basic respect from the dealership.Now I(wife) will be going to Woodbridge to purchase a new vehicle in a couple of weeks.

This review is specifically for sales person Don Barker. As a younger car buyer it is hard to get takes seriously and the ones that do often try to make it difficult to leave without buying the car on the spot. Don was very straight forward and to the point. Asked which cars and trims I was looking for, let me test drive it right away and gave me an starting point for an out the door price on the trims levels and answered all my question. He did not pressure me into buying the car on the spot and told me to take my time and think about it and get back to him whevenver I am ready to pull the trigger on negotiating. It was very refreshing to have a car sales person be ok with you just looking for now and just give you some out the door number to think over.

My engine went out at 80k miles. I called 3 different dealerships before this one, and none of them were willing to help me. Alix not only got my car in to be assessed the day I contacted her, she also helped me get the repair covered by Hyundai! She communicated with me regularly the whole time my car was in the shop, and she ensured I had a nice new rental to drive while I waited. Her courtesy, professionalism and kindness made the entire arduous process much less painful. Thank you Alix and Fairfax Hyundai!!

I had to get service while I was on a long trip. I called them to make an appointment and they were super friendly and helpful over the phone. I came in for a drop in complimentary service and they were super nice, answered all my questions and provided fast service. Highly recommend.

**took a little longer than promised*As in previous visits, I had to go up to the service counter and inquire about the cars status, only to discover it was ready.*I had a tire plugged that cost $28. My local mechanic performs that task for $20 while I wait - 10-20 minutes.*Was promised synthetic oil and received regular.*Staff is friendly.^When I finished the (lengthy) Hyundai Feedback survey, I was sent to Google reviews, but when I tried to leave the review, it would allow it to be posted; the screen just kind of froze......

I’ve purchased two new vehicles here in the past 8 years. I purchased a 2013 Elantra and a 2019 Santa Fe. Both sales experiences were great, however I will no longer take my vehicles back to this location for service, no purchase from here again. When I purchased my first car, it came with a Tires for Life Program which was one one of the reasons I decided on the Hyundai Elantra. The owner has since reneged on this offer. I think this is bad business. They say customer loyalty is important to them, but obviously that is no longer the case. For the past 8 years I had my car serviced at this dealership on a regular basis as part of the Tires for Life agreement— only to receive 1 pair of tires under the program before they reneged on the offer. It’s common knowledge that there are cheaper and more convenient alternatives to the dealership to get your car serviced. I used to justify the additional time and expense because of the free tires. What a waste of money. This business is not to be trusted.

Horrible experience with the service department and their financial staff. Upon completion of routine maintenance and additional services, I was charged twice during the checkout process. I called and emailed proof of documents in order to receive a refund but as of yet, I have not. This was over a month ago, and I have not be able to get into contact with anyone since.

I’ve bought Sonata 2020 SEL with a great deal. What ever they send you in email about the quote that is the cost you are paying. Period. No hidden fees nothing. Staff are very friendly and felt comfortable in whole buying process. I also went to chantilly Hyundai but prices were high.

Fairfax Hyundai team is friendly, professional, and thorough in explanation of needed services. Quick to get me in when I had a turn signal out. Let me know I needed new brake pads in the near future so I was able to take care of it while having my brake light replaced.

I went in to get a new car today and had a pleasant experience. Sung immediately showed me the car I wanted to take a look at and went straight to get the car for me. He was quick to answer my questions and was thorough with the explanations of the car features. He tried his best to give me the best deal on the car as well. He was the best part about this place. And the comfy lounge.The wait was long, however, due to the number of customers and slow financial process. The wait to talk to the financial man was twice the amount of time it took for me to look at the car, drive it around, figure out the price, and sign the contract. In addition, the financial dealer kept offering insurance/coverage plans I had no interest in, and continued to bring it up even after I refused adamantly.Overall, if youre planning to buy a car here, request for Sung. Hes a great man to talk to. And be prepared to wait a long time if there are other customers. Have an external battery for your phone.
