We bought a Certified used Forester here a couple of years ago. The whole buying process was straightforward and pleasant -- no high pressure nonsense on either the front end or back end. Salesperson (Jake Cupp) was low key, friendly, and helpful. Similarly, weve had good experiences on the service end . They have completed routine maintenance (such as oil changes) when promised. And when we had some glitches with the radio unit, they fixed the problem under warranty, even replacing the battery, and provided us with a nice loaner until the required part came in. Were quite happy with the service at this dealer.

I have been a fan of Miller Hill Subaru for years! Garrett in service is always helpful and provides outstanding service. Just purchased a 2020 Outback--great service from all the staff! An added bonus was a one-on-one technology session with Bailey to ensure I understood the many options on the car. Bailey did an excellent job walking me through the technology and pointing out options I didnt realize/understand. This was a perfect example of above and beyond customer service.

Ive heard a lot of good things, and really wanted to trust Subaru with my STi. I brought it in for 55k mile tune up (diff fluid, tire rotation, etc) and that I needed the power steering lines replaced. I got charged $25 for them to tell me that yup, the power steering lines need to be replaced but then didnt do them.Edit: Just received a call after posting this and they are crediting me the $25 for the repair. ♥️ Thats pretty great.Fast forward 2 months, I just did an oil change and under the vehicle, 4 of the plastic push pins are missing and one bolt.The staff here are wonderful, and extremely helpful. Was just shocked by the fee and the missing pieces.

Her patient attitude and knowledgeable guidance helped us make the best decisions, and we are thrilled with our new Subaru Outback. We were 12,000 miles into our road trip around the perimeter of the United States when we smelled what we thought was an oil leak. Turned out the oil cap had fallen off and was spewing oil all over the engine block. When we pulled into Miller Hill Subaru with no appointment we received just the right care from Devan Wilder! Devan found the oil cap where it had fallen into the bottom of the engine block, got us topped off with a quart of oil, and even got the engine cleaned off to avoid smelling the spilled oil for the remaining 3,000 miles of our trip. Devan saved our vacation with his helpful attitude and his ability to juggle our emergency with all the other scheduled work going on around us. Thank you Devan for getting us back on the road and on to our next destination while crossing the northern United States..

Scott is AMAZING!!! Even though they had NO openings at all (not just here but ANYWHERE in Duluth), and they were short staffed, he was able to take care of an emergency car problem for my family we had visiting the area. The fix cost half what we were quoted, and my grandbabies made it home safely and on time. THANK YOU!!! Love this place, and would definitely recommend!

I wish I could give 0 stars.I have been here 3 separate times, not one of them have been smooth. I was told I needed a recall, brought in my vehicle for it, picked up my vehicle & was told they didn’t have the parts so I’ll be called once they do. I was never called. I called, explained the situation & got service scheduled. Was told the recall had already been completed. I told them I was verbally told it hadn’t been due to lack of parts. They would not do the recall. They claim it’s already been done. They also charged me for a service on my vehicle I did not authorize. I have tried many times to speak with them about this AWFUL experience & no one has reached out to me. I loved subaru as a company, but this shop has changed that. I will not be going to this shop again. I will drive to the cities if I have to. Do not go here if you want any type of respect or communication about your vehicle.UPDATE SEPT 2021- I emailed the email below 2 days after they replied & HAVE NOT heard a response. Their service department have had my Outback for over 2 weeks now. They were just supposed to be diagnosing an issue, not even completing any work yet. I have called 6 times and have yet to get a single call returned. I have not experienced customer service this bad ever in my life. I dont think I would follow through with allowing them to complete the work on my car.

I Found myself stranded in Silver Bay on a Saturday afternoon with nothing open to service my Subaru. I had my vehicle tow to Miller Hill Subaru And the service Rep Scott was outstanding, He got a Tech to look at it as soon as he could and was super helpful through the whole process. This review is a little bit different than the others. I didnt buy a vehicle from here rather had my 2008 Ford F-150 serviced here. I was having problems with an antifreeze leak that worsened over time. MHS told me it was my intake gaskets which is a common failure on this model/year. I am completely satisfied with the service and quality of the repair. Even though I didnt have a Subaru they were still willing to help me out. Definitely recommend you give them a chance before checking with other shops even if you dont have a Subaru. Five stars guys ✨ keep up the good work.

I bought my car at Miller Hill and have brought it there for the standard maintenance (oil changes/tire rotation) over a two year period. Each time I was there, everything went as smoothly and effortlessly as possible. Kala has been my service advisor each time and has always been excellent. This time she had come out to the waiting area to tell another customer that their car was ready. The customer was extremely rude, but Kala remained professional throughout the entire encounter. This customers insults got quite personal, but Kala never wavered. I witnessed a level of customer service that has long been extinct at other businesses.

Diane at Miller Hill Subaru was beyond fantastic! My Mother-in-law had recently been in an accident and was in need of a new car. She knew she wanted a Subaru Forester. When I contacted MHS to see about details and a possible appointment I was handed over to Diane. She was very receptive to my request for a few options based on the needs I knew my mother-in-law had and set up an appointment for us to visit. When we came in she was wonderful to work with. She brought us right to the perfect car which was exactly in the price range and had all the things we needed and some. She was so personable with us sharing her stories and listening to ours as we worked through the always lengthy process of purchasing a car. After we made the purchase she even offered to have my Mother-in-law back to demonstrate some of the finer points of the new vehicles features. This dealer is like any other dealer that has ever been. They are out to get you to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on repairs that dont need to be serviced in order for your car to safely operate. Had a quality inspection done and over half the items listed that needed service were completely within the bounds of safe operation. Get a second opinion before you decide to do any service at a dealer, even this one.

Update: I brought my 03 Impreza here to have some new headlamps And taillights Installed on two separate occasions not long ago after I had checked out (First time) for the Headlights I noticed the high Beam and low beam were not working on the right driver side I figured maybe a bulb had burnt out so Went to oreillys and a guy that examined it said the bulb was just fine it was the wiring that was wrong so I’ve been driving around since then with no front headlight The left side happens to be working thankfully far As I’m concerned my headlights should of been working correctly before my car was returned to my possession I was expecting a complete job, (2nd time)same thing goes for my back left tail light (brake light) was not correctly working either built of corrosion i believe. I had mentioned that my headlights still were not working from the previous time that I was there and it was not acknowledged at all. $300 in labor for (headlight) also 400$ Including (taillights) I believe I have some kind of reimbursement coming. Its kinda disheartening how I was charged over $700 in labor and The job isn’t even Guaranteed.... I don’t think I can recommend this shop... Other then if you are in need of an oil change....

I gave an explanation of why I was wanting help with my car.This was the fourth time I had lost power and my battery was dead.The technician had done some work to try to find an electrical leak.They could not find a cause (maybe it was me leaving a dome light on).I cant argue that. Ive been known to do such a thing. The service department gave me a new battery at no cost. This time a certain piece of equipment was discovered as the culprit. It was a device that would not turn off I was told. Thus the battery was drained again. The device was replaced and I am happy they persisted to explore and found and fixed the problem. Every one in service department was polite, professional and attended to my questions clearly.

We purchased our new 2021 Crosstrek from Miller Hill Subaru a month ago. Our Sales Representative, Ken was very informative, never did we feel pressured during our visit. Ken found us exactly what we wanted, and actually the vehicle had many more features than we had on our shopping list. We were offered the Crosstrek for much less than the sticker price. We took delivery of our new Crosstrek, and Ken introduced us to many of the staff who will be working with us, including the service crew. Miller Hill Subaru went above and beyond when our check engine light came on during a camping trip on the North Shore. They fit us into their schedule same-day, ran a full panel of diagnostics and tests, confirmed the issues were minor, and gave our car a complimentary car wash. To top it off, they are a dog friendly business so our two dogs were welcome in their waiting area and got lots of attention from everyone! I want to be addressed professionally and honestly, not patronized. I am so pleased with my experience today. I have been looking into the 2019 Outbacks for a few months and was given a better price down in the cities. Thought I’d see if Miller Hill could match. Diane was amazing, she was able to match the price I had been given and made the whole experience easy and painless. I was able to have my dog in the showroom the whole time I was there and the entire staff was loving on her and giving her bones, such a dog friendly atmosphere. Had an AMAZING experience purchasing my used car from miller hill. however when we test drove it we heard a clunking noise and wanted to get it fixed, they said they’d do it for free. we drove the car home for the weekend (2 hours away) and had an appointment for monday that said ‘fix clunking noise in back’. my boyfriend took it up and they only replaced the sway bars. was still clunking. played phone tag for a week and a half and finally got through and said they didn’t have an opening for two weeks. finally convinced them to squeeze us in, just drove up (2hours) to find out they never wrote down the appointment. they are short staffed and my boyfriend has to sit in the waiting room all day. never had such a bad experience with mechanics, dealerships and everything in between. Diane was amazing when purchasing my car however everything else was just awful. if my car isn’t fixed today i won’t be coming back.UPDATE: only fixed the left strut.

Worst dealership experience Ive ever had! My dad and I visited this dealership last weekend. He was looking to purchase a truck just over $18,000 in cash/check. They were very firm on their price and wouldnt budge much. We were thinking it over, outside in their parking lot, and discussing the purchase. We noticed our salesman took off and left the property in his Corvette, and didnt say anything to us. We thought this was weird. We went to go inside to close the deal and purchase the truck, but the doors were locked! They already closed for the day right before 5PM. It was obvious they didnt want our business and was more worried about getting home. It wouldve been nice if someone warned us that they were closing soon, it was so disrespectful. Since we were disgusted, we decided not to buy anything from this place. We gave our $18,000 cash purchase to another dealership in St. Cloud. And the deal was better anyways! Will never, ever, come here again. And neither will any of our friends or family!

We took our 2014 Subaru Legacy here for a recall. While they were doing the recall they messed up something on the radio so that it had almost no reception. We took it back to them and they took full responsibilty for the mistake, gave us an almost brand new Subaru to drive while they fixed their mistake, and then delivered our car back to us since we lived a ways from the dealer. They were incredibly professional during the whole process and gave us updates during the whole ordeal.

We experienced warning light problems in the middle of nowhere on a recent ice fishing trip from Minneapolis to Lake of the Woods, and had to detour to the closest Subaru dealer, which turned out to be Miller Hill. Having never been to that dealership We called ahead once we were in cell phone coverage area. Casey, in the Service Department had people ready to diagnose the problem and fix it, and we were able to reach our destination on the Canadian Border and enjoy our trip. We were treated like one of their oldest customers.

Beware used car buyers, we were swindled! Do not purchase a used vehicle from Miller Hill Subaru unless your mechanic has looked the car over very well! Do not trust what you are being told by Subaru dealers! Subaru advertised an 06 Honda Civic on Craigs List, listing the car to be in excellent condition. We looked at this car and the salesman assured us over and over that all used cars on the lot go through a 29 point inspection and that Subaru would not put a car for sale unless they were in good running condition. We purchased the car and paid the top $ of $5,000, as we were told the car was valued at that. NIGHTMARE!!! Problems occurred within the first 8 hrs. and later we discover the engine block is cracked and I have documentation from mechanics proving it was cracked prior to Subaru putting it up for sale and listing it to be in excellent condition. Obviously the car was in poor condition! Subaru swindled us out of thousands and thousands of dollars and then gave us a couple of wet band aid options and wanted to charge us more money when we asked for resolution. Subaru told us we bought AS IS and anything they do now is a Good Will favor. We wanted to be reimbursed our money back for the difference of the REAL value of the car we were sold and what we had over paid. Subaru said, Thats not how it works. People, Subaru does not care about your hard earned money! We were sold junk and they have our money! False advertising by misrepresentation, and the car was filthy inside and out which should have been a clue to us that Subaru does not take pride in what they sell to customers. Horrible and inexcusable way to treat people. I know what buying a used car As Is means; however, dishonest representation of the condition of the car seems unlawful to me!UPDATE: I have called Beth Nimens and left a message asking for a call back. My call has not been returned.

The staff and service has been fine, but recently Miller Hill has fallen down on the job. One month ago I brought my 2011 Outback in for a problem which was identified to be a worn out front axle. I was told the part would be ordered and I could expect a phone call in one week when a follow-up appointment to install the new axle would be scheduled. When after two weeks I phoned Miller Hill, no record of the part could be found, and I was promised everything would be taken care of and I could expect a phone call in one week to schedule my appointment.You guessed it, 10 days have now passed and I had to phone the service department. Same issue, although the record of my original visit with the car can be found, no record of the axle ever having been ordered could be found. Thus, we are back to square #1. I was promised today the part would be ordered and a follow-up phone call will be made to me next week. We shall see ...I would have given Miller Hill only two stars, but I actually like the staff and their work. However, their reputation is really suffering. This scenario is extremely disappointing. It makes me wonder if their computer systems are poor and need of an update ... the comment from a software techie (i.e. me)

Wow the Service Team ROCKS at Miller Hill Subaru!! I am thrilled with the quick and complete service they provided when my Outback needed repairs. They educated me on the issue, got me a loaner car at the last minute to go on vacation, and they did the repairs while we were gone. I don’t live in Duluh but drove out of my way to bring my car up there because their service team was so helpful and responsive. THANKS! Go Suuuubs :)

I’m very disappointed. This is the only dealership anywhere near me and I generally only use the dealer for all services. After my last oil change, I had oil all over the garage floor. The drain plug was not put back properly. While my husband did another oil change he noticed there was a negligible amount of coolant. I checked the receipt and “fluids” were reported as checked. Obviously not the case, so I bought the 30$ Jug and topped it off myself which they should have done. I’m having a hard time deciding to go back. The drain plug is a total rookie move. What else are they not paying attention to?*I emailed the manager as suggested below. I have received zero response. Changing to one star.

Slow service every time Ive been there. Failed to notice my brakes were completely worn. Oil changes are quite expensive as well compared to other local alternatives or doing it yourself.

My family has purchased several vehicles from suburu and normally we have zero issues however, my mother took her vehicle in due to the air bag recall. She also wanted them to check her AC bc it hasnt been working well and is not cold at all. They told her they wouldnt have time to look at it, yet came back with an ENTIRE LIST of about 15 items (not even joking) of things there were wrong and needed repair. THEN they asked her if she would like them to fix them for her today. Im sorry, you had time to find all these other problems but couldnt take the time to look into her AC which she specifically requested?? What a scam. The more I thought about it, the angrier I was. Luckily, my mom is not a vulnerable adult but I can see someone panicking over the list they gave her. She asked me, is this car even safe to drive? So, needless to say, we were not impressed and incredibly disappointed at the lack of professionalism shown at the dealership.
