Ive been using Dallas Auto for years, and have found Mike, Jason, and crew to be honest and dependable.Ive done most of my maintenance myself for the last few years, but found myself with a problem I couldnt solve this week. Air conditioning work is not cheap. But, I know I got value for my money.They are quick. They do what they say. The price is fair.

I took my Avalanche to them because it had a misfire code and they replaced one spark plug and plug wires and my coolant sensor and said It was good and charged me$300. Then my truck threw a code after driving 10 miles for a knock sensor. I called and left a message with someone for Jason the manager to call me about fixing the knock sensor and Never called back. And they obviously didnt really dig to find the problem. The thing was tapping and sounded horrible.

I had an AC issue and they found the issue and repaired it quickly. They have to be the easiest guys to talk to and explained what the issue was. It’s a very clean store also.

They ran codes for my van and told me what the problem was, gave me the most inexpensive way to take care of it and explained it all clearly. The engine light has not gone back on since. The place seemed to be very busy and in demand. They got back to me when they said they would. Seems a fairly priced and competent place to go for car issues.

Just recently had my vehicle serviced, I had an electrical issue with a no start condition, stranded me several times at different places, thought Id give this auto shop a try, all I can say is Wow, the manager Jason is polite and extremely knowledgeable technician, they repaired my vehicle in two days at a reasonable cost, I wont take my vehicle anywhere else now that Ive found them, Thanks Jason.

I was recommended to this company by my boss whos been using Dallas Auto for years. I was impressed that they didnt try to nickel and dime me, but they actually tried to fixed my vehicle with modest and cost efficient solutions first. I sensed that they were not out to take all your money which was extremely refreshing and immediately built trust. Give them a try!

I pulled in today to see if they could help wire my truck to my trailer I. Told a young man what was happing when I did try to do it my self. He explain. I had a ground issue I ask if the could fix it. He said they could but I would have to leave the truck for two he was back up he was honest and helpful. Went home found the bad ground wire cleaned it I’ll like he said save me 60 dollars and two days of time thank you. Definitely recommend this shop honest people go a very long way

Edit:I have to start off by saying yes the shop was friendly and I really thought they were top quality work but sadly I found a lot more wrong with my suburban after I made this post. Yes they put my motor in for me, and even did everything for my back breaks brand new, however, I had to take it back up to them just a few days after I got it back bc the temperature gauge was NOT hooked up, it NEVER moved, and the owner himself told me it was fine, and that he didn’t see a place to put it on my new engine!! That’s nothing you ever want to hear coming from your mechanic, it is NEVER ok that your temperature gauge DOES NOT MOVE!! Even if there is a new engine in your car you NEED to know what temperature it’s holding so you know if something else has gone bad. When I did this I also made sure they checked my oil pressure gauge as well, as in the past it had been wrong before. While I was up there talking to the owner about it, I pointed out it was leaking some fluids on the engine, looked as though it was leaking oil. I was told not to worry about it they’d check it out for me. A couple of days or week later I get it back, then it starts acting up again with shifting. I worry it was my transmission going bc it’s such a old vehicle and had the original transmission, so I take it to a different shop who came very highly recommend for transmission and motor work, now seeing as the suburban could drive. However, before taking it to this other shop I thought to check my fluids. While Dallas Auto told me they had topped off my oil(which I had provided) and my transmission fluid, both dipsticks were dry as a bone!!! Now, this shop owner informs me that there are various leaks, missing bolts, missing clamp on my gas line for my pump, my carburetor was set way to high(and that’s why I had a hard time starting while Mike at Dallas Auto told me it was the old gas) and various other things Dallas Auto left out when they put everything connecting my new engine! Now I did not take it back simply because they had made me mad by how much they had missed, and again I thought it was my transmission and not anything on the motor bc everything there was replaced and brand new, up to $6k worth of new parts. It honestly shouldn’t have had any more issues, BUT they missed more than any shop EVER should, I spent a good amount for what I thought was going to be top dollar work, but now it feels as though I might’ve just gotten screwed! I assure you, I WILL NOT take my baby back there, idk what they had going on, but they missed more than they should’ve. I’ve tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after hearing that they let my gas drip out of my gas line, I simply just can not look at the bright side anymore! They told me I had to put a lot of mileage on my new motor and let me believe it was fully done and hooked up good, meanwhile my suburban could’ve caught fire while I drove! This put mine and my family’s life in danger! Like I said before, seemed like a 5 star shop but I got 2 star quality... Definitely NEVER going back there, and I honestly wouldn’t recommend unless you have a small job, and even then I would say please, please check your cars before you pull off from that shop!!

Did excellent work turning a flywheel for me and fast as well..got the car back on the road in no time for my customer after I got her flywheel resurfaced.

Would give them less but I can’t . I gave them a review when they serviced my car a couple months ago and mysteriously it has disappeared . They don’t like bad reviews .They charged me for work that was never done on my vehicle . I’ve tried to dispute with my cc company but they lied to them too . The owner is very unhelpful and condescending . He obviously doesn’t know what his staff does or doesn’t do . I know I was overcharged and can prove the work they say they did wasn’t done. $200 is a large amount to overcharge, so beware . I guess they’ll see me in court next .

Last time we took it to Toyota for a recall fix, Toyota said it would cost almost $1,000 to fix. Claiming the entire gas tank needed to be replaced for an evap hose repair. My daughter brought in my car because I was having issues with it, so naturally she gave them her information (number). They gave her a call and she told them that she would have to call them back because it was not her car and she had to get the “ok” from the owner (me). At the time, I was at work so I did not respond quick. When I got her message, I told her to call back and tell them that we wanted to get a second opinion. They quoted her for a price that is more then the standard price they charge for checking your vehicle. When I went to pick it up, I asked the owner why was he charging me so much. He alleged that they had done something to the car (still not sure what), but I told him why he had done any work on the car if my daughter had told him to wait. He immediately got an attitude with me and said that he did not think that “a few extra dollars” would matter if it meant the car was going to be fixed. Anyway he was getting mad/irritated and simply said “pay me the standard price but your car is fixed.” He just kept repeating (with a rude tone) that my car was fixed; however, the next day the car left me on the side of the road. Super frustrating.

Always helpful, have gotten serviced by them for 2 years now. From servicing my 68 mustang to my Audi, they know what theyre doing.

Just moved here in May and took a chance on them. Right choice. Have a classic car and they treat it right. A few breakdowns fixed and they suggested (rightly) for me to have other things fixed. Very pleased with service and will continue to use them. Remember no one is perfect, but Ill stick with a shop that tries.

Your shop was recommended to me by John Hardly he owns a red classic 55 Chevy and is a member of Dallas Classics Car club. I brought my 1969 GTX to them to do some work. I was very impressed with Jason and his Dad. They are doing some major repairs. I will update review after work is complete.

I pulled in with my tire spewing air from where I ran over something, and the guy told me to go to Dallas Tire. Thats good but how about putting the spare on for me so I can make it there. The guys were to worried about lunch time and how busy they were. Its 90 degrees outside and Im disabled, this was beyond ridiculous!!!

I took my 2012 GMC Arcadia to my local dealership to have my airbags fixed during that time they informed me that all 6 injectors was going to be replaced and that it was going to cost me between 1,600-2,000. My husband has an older GMC Sierra and he takes his truck here I told him what the dealership said and we agreed something didnt sound right so we went here. Immediately the gentleman worked there said that that was pretty much impossible. come to find out the issues I was having (that a well known dealership should have picked up on) was because of bad gas. So after they ran a strong cleaner through my lines and fixed the connections to my back window I only spent 300$ if that. Wish I would have taken my vehicle there sooner because the dealership purposely tried to scare me into spending more money by saying things like the vehicle can stop working while Im driving or borderline blow up. Instead this place had honestly friendly people thats genuinely looking out for costumer and their family. which Is very rare when it comes to automotive repair.

Took my 2012 Kia Optima to them because it was using a ton of oil. Jason did some research online and found that Kia had a recall on the motor. Kia had tested my car the year before for the recall and it passed and they stated nothing was wrong. Jason told me to take it back and I did. My car had 170K miles on it and Kia retested the car and it failed. I ended up with a new motor at no cost. DAR could have easily put in a new motor and charged me for it. I greatly appreciate them, I have used them for at least 15 years and they have always stood behind their work. Very honest and do great work.

I dropped off my 2003 Chevy Cavalier on Monday 03/12. I explained to the mechanic that my car was shutting off upon deceleration. He told me it would probably be Tuesday before he could look at it as it was already around 2PM. No problem. Tuesday afternoon I called them about 3:30PM and they had not gotten to it yet, but I was assured I would get a phone call ASAP. Wednesday, no call. Thursday, no call. I went to the office on Friday 16th and they told me that they charged the battery and everything looked ok. I was charged $60 and I took my car home. Saturday 17th. My car shut off on me. So, one week and $60 later, Im back at square one.

Best place I’ve ever been for car repair period

Call Dallas auto repair Tuesday morning at 7 at the tow truck driver down there with my son in front of QuikTrip half a mile away from their shop instructed the driver to take the truck to my home my son was in my truck to follow him to my home to let the truck off and pay the man instead he decided he would take the truck to his shop only a half a mile away and charge $55 for a half a mile and then proceeded to take my vehicle out in the back lot and drop it and tell my son they can fix it for $350 even though I had instructed him to take it to my home my son said no but him and his friend had to go all the way up to the auto parts store and buy new bolts for the drive shaft that came out and repair my truck in the grass and dirt behind their shop to get it fixed to get up and running and take it to my house I will never use this company ever again I instructed them to take it to my home and they decided to take it a half a mile and put it in their shop and charge me $55 I read his answer. I strictly told him to take vehicle to my home. I got a ticket for lane change violation and was fighting it.I never got a court date. So police said I had a warrant failure to appear on lane change violation .So I gave my son my credit card and told him to follow them to the house and pay them. Its sad that they would try and turn this around on me. I told him to take vehicle 3 miles down the road to my house. I am the owner and my car should have been taken to my home as instructed. Chrisitian based I will be praying for you. That was very dirty what you did to my son and myself. Dont use Dallas Auto, Over priced and no entegrity.

I am a Paulding County raised boy that has came here for years but I had a recent horrible experience with these guys servicing my family. When the older gentlemen left this company hasnt been the same. I had numerous problems the last 2 repairs with these guys and one problem that came up happened to be another guys problem below as well...Long story short:Ive come to this shop for numerous years without issues. As of recent however, Ive had a Catalytic Converter done. Ive never seen so much hassle and unscheduled work done in my life. The only reason I didnt go anywhere else between those times is this is a convenient and close by. Those have been the ONLY positive reasons to use this place.Now for the issues:-I took my car in on a Friday expecting the Catalytic converter to be done in a day as told. They didnt have the piece since it was a customized piece, so no big deal.. Id expect it to be done on Monday. Monday passes and they tell me it should be done on Tuesday. This is AFTER a gentleman tells my mother that the car would be finished at the end of Monday...(Making a commute to Dunwoody and back to Dallas is a hassle with a rental car in the first place). Not only did I miss hours of work because of this fault but also had to pay extra money on top of misleading information.-On top of that ordeal, they decided to replace a part that was functioning perfectly fine and without permission. This was a big no-no but the sales guy just kept saying it needed to be replaced.( Catalytic converter is nowhere near a serpentine belt by the way. Just google it).Im so tired of these guys that Im going to wrap this review up and keep it short and sweet for everyone else. Ill take my business else where next time around because honesty goes a lot farther than just completing a task. This was a pain the butt and is coming from a man whos trying to become an hard working business man himself.

****BUYER BEWARE**** Wish I could do half of a star because frankly thats about all theyre worth imo. #1 they quoted me over the phone $30 (me providing filter) to change my fuel filter on my truck (this literally took them less than 15 minutes) and $90-100 for an oil change on my truck (its a diesel). I arrived there and was talking to the manager and the young man who had quoted me for the work over the phone. I confirmed that it was $30 for them to change my filter and $90-100 for oil change. We chatted the entire time my truck was being worked on and I felt very comfortable with choosing them to work on my truck. I was then on the phone with a client when they finished my truck and handed me the bill. Not thinking (since I had been told twice what it would cost to do my truck and I felt comfortable after chatting) I handed him my card and didnt even look at the bill and signed the receipt. After I finished my phone call I looked at my receipt and realized my bill was $153 and change(now going by what I was quoted saying the high side of $100 for oil and $30 for filter my bill should have been $139.10 with tax). I addressed the manager after doing the math in my head and stated the problem with my bill. Now by their math it showed a $3.00 shop supply charge, $84.75 for the oil change and $60 for the filter swap in addition to taxes which is the amount I was charged. (if thats the case it should have been $84.75 for oil & $30(as quoted)bfor filter, $3.00 shop fee and tax $125.99). I stated that is not what I was told and not what we discussed. His response was we had to put more oil in your truck than we expected so thats the difference. Now my truck takes 15 qts, And they put 16 in it which makes it overfilled(which you are NOT supposed to do on these trucks). Therefore they used more materials than they should have and charged me nearly $30 more than they should have. Long story short, theyll quote you one thing, tell you the same to your face and bill you for a higher amount all while giving you bullshit excuses for their overpricing you. They dont seem to know the specifics of how to work on all vehicles. If you choose them, all I say is good luck because you will need it!!!
