Very happy with my purchase. Richard was great to work with. Honest and very helpful. Had some issues getting it registered and he quickly responded and got it all squared away for me. Answered every question i had and every time i called. Price was firm, but i understood that walking in and also understood why it was firm. Thanks for everything!

One of the best used car buying experiences I have had (and I have had a fair number.) Starting with the advertisement, the initial phone conversation, taking the car to PPI, agreeing on a price, preparing paperwork and handing off the car to a cross country transport service, all of these steps took place with care and minimal fuss. Happy to also report that the car arrived safely after traveling coast to coast and is as advertised. It was a pleasure doing business with Eric!

I purchased an incredibly cool and rare car from Eric at Automotion of Atlanta. The purchase was all done online and via the phone as I live many states away. Eric posted 100+ high resolution photos and gave us a video tour of the car. The deal was straight forward, open & honest. The car was on a truck and headed to us in no time - from our first call on a Monday to the car in my driveway the next Sunday. It was great working with Eric! Highly recommend using this dealer.

We purchased 2 vehicles from Automotion a few months ago. Eric was knowledgeable about the vehicles and very honest and helpful in diagnosing and repairing an issue with one of them (a rare electrical issue that was affecting the A/C functioning). He communicated everything that was going on and kept me in the loop during every step of the process, as well as worked with me to coordinate having the vehicles privately inspected. The vehicles - a 2000 and a 2005 - are in better condition than any Ive ever owned, and we couldnt be more satisfied.

We purchased our truck from Automotion of Atlanta via online pictures, virtual test drive, and a 3rd party inspection. The transaction was completed online, via mail, and over the phone. Eric was very good to get right back to us via email, phone, and text message. He was very helpful in making this a smooth transaction. He helped get the truck shipped to us in KS. We never had to make a trip out to GA. He was very honest and there wasnt a lot of back and forth on the negotiating. We really liked and appreciated that! I highly recommend Automotion of Atlanta.

I felt comfortable purchasing used vehicle long-distance virtually primarily due to the pictorial presentation and the ease of talking to our Salesman (Eric). The Dealership provided us with logistics assistance and administration support (tag, registration and title). Only con, sold-as-is with no warranty but the vehicle had super low miles. Automotion of Atlanta will definitely be our first search when we are ready to buy daughter a winter vehicle.

We have been on the hunt for a Tacoma for a long time and had heard great things about Automotion of Atlanta from a friend who shopped there before. We are so thankful we listened to their advice! From the very beginning, Eric was so responsive and was happy to answer every question we had. When we saw the truck in person, it was exactly as described on the site and over the phone. It was truly so refreshing and wonderful to work with someone who runs their business with honesty and treats their products and customers with respect. The whole process from start to finish was easy and delightful. We will absolutely be returning customers and recommend Eric and Richard to our family and friends.

WARNING - Automotion of Atlanta sells vehicles that may look good from the outside but have a high probability of having issues on the inside. In other words, be careful before you buy. I bought a vehicle from them 5 months ago and have already had to spend over $3,000 in repairs. I will never purchase a car from them ever again and would highly suggest you do the same.

I paid in full for a Honda CR-V from Richard Tankesley in late October and did not get the title until February 6.I understand that this is a small business and that things get busy, but a portion of the price I paid for the car was dealership fees-- for handling tag & title. I had problems with both.Problems with the title:I called Mr. Tankesley more than a dozen times between December 31 and January 20 to follow-up on my missing title. He insisted several times that he had submitted the paperwork to Titletec. I asked him what date, and he told me he submitted the paperwork November 25.I emailed the Georgia MVD Jan 19 to inquire about the delay and they told me, Our records indicate that we have not received the documents from the seller of this vehicle to finalize this title. I called Richard and told him this, and he told me again that he had already submitted the paperwork. On January 20, I called Titletec myself and found that Mr. Tankesley first submitted the paperwork for my title transfer that same day, almost three months after the date of purchase. It is the dealers responsibility to handle title transfer. An 11-week delay on submitting the paperwork is unacceptable and to my understanding, unlawful in Georgia.Problems with the tag:Because Richard recorded the VIN number incorrectly at the time of sale, we had to meet again a month later to re-do some paperwork before I could remove the temporary tag. To his credit, Richard minimized the hassle by driving out to me.I understand that humans make mistakes and that COVID-19 has impacted both businesses and government. However, trying to get answers from Automotion was frustrating and time-consuming. I would not recommend this dealer.

I am going to have to give 1 star because they are advertising cars that they dont actually have. Its a bait & switch scenario. They advertise vehicles to get your contact info or to get you to call then tell you sorry we just sold that BUT I have another vehicle similar you will love!I really dislike tactics such as this because it displays a total lack of integrity in the dealership as a whole. And if they are shady before you even purchase a vehicle...it makes you 2nd guess everything else such as service or honesty.

I dealt with Eric over the phone. I was coming from SC to look at a car. the website had lots of pictures and we were able to negotiate a price over the phone. I went to go look at the car and take it for a test drive. Eric allowed me to take it to a dealership to have it inspected. The car was in a little rougher shape than the pictures showed. His price was a little high for the car in the condition it was in but im sure I could have negotiated more had I bought the car. Long story short I did not buy the car as I decided to buy a newer car from the dealer that I had taken the car to. But Eric was very nice and was not upset even though I had kept his car from 11am-4pm while I was at the dealership buying the other car. I cannot comment on the inventory he has but it was a pleasant experience working with him and I was grateful that he was understanding and allowed me to do all that. The dealership is a little run down and is basically a mechanic shop with cars out front but its what you would expect with a used car dealership. My experience with them was nothing negative but i just decided to go another route.

Had the vehicle inspected and there were zero issues. Obviously they are very selective in picking out their vehicles for sale at auctions. They dont charge you dealer fees and they are definitely not pushy. I called at 4:43 on a Thursday afternoon to ask if a car was available and let them know that I would be stopping by the next morning around 10:30 to take a look at it. Richard said no problem, somebody would be there. I called about 30 minutes before I got there to let them know I was on the way. When I got there, I quickly found that the condition of the car was not in line with the price they were asking. The two damage reported events on the Carfax had not been repaired; it had been softly rear ended, leaving creases in the rear bumper, and had a good sized dent on the right quarter panel that had been poorly touched up. There were also a couple of interior pieces lying in the back seat of the car. I assume the disassembly was trying to fix a problem. Buffer burn marks on one of the tail lights also told me that the paint was probably worn down a good bit also.Richard was the only person there and said Id have to wait on Eric to get there in order to see the service history. So, I asked if I could simply drive the car in the lot behind the building just to make sure the clutch on the car was good. He said Id have to wait for Eric to get there for that to happen, also. The problem is, Eric was still about 15 minutes away, but who knows how much longer it actually would have been. At that point, I left. Never heard from Eric, either.

My experience with Automotion of Atlanta was overall excellent, even though I didnt end up purchasing a truck from them. Eric was more than accommodating and helpful. As an out of state buyer I was completely reliant on pictures and text/phone calls from Eric. He made the experience very easy. He even drove the truck I was interested in to my parents preferred mechanic an hour away. When I decided not to purchase the truck I was still impressed with how positive of an experience it was. People will complain that the prices are too high or non-negotiable, but remember these are people trying to make a living just like everyone else. If you want to pay nothing more than the blue book value get a vehicle off a private seller not a dealer. If you want the customer service of a dealer Eric is you man!

UNBELIEVABLY GOOD used car buying experience! Decent, honest, down to earth folks & family-owned (father/son) business. These guys are more car enthusiasts than car salesmen. Very refreshing and unusual for this industry, that makes average people like me very anxious...buying a used car from who knows who...often unscrupulous dealers. Eric and dad know their stuff, are long-time Atlanta residents and run an honest business. As for the couple negative reviews, some people like the nasty game of car haggling and thats what they expect to play...well, this isnt the game these guys are playing. This has to be the worst dealership Ive ever seen. Their prices are unbelievably high (just check the Kelley Blue Book values on every one of their cars). They will flat out refuse to knock off even a few dollars, claiming the price is FIRM. On top of that, they slap on a dealer fee. The reason for this, they say, is that their cars are in top notch condition. Well thats a lie! Their cars are in terrible condition with all sorts of problems! So all in all, stay away from this place. Its obvious they have ZERO business because their inventory hasnt changed in over a year! Its a tiny dealership that should be shut down.

I recently bought an 05 Honda CR-V SE AWD with only 58K mi. from Richard at Automotion of Atlanta and am very happy with the purchase. Prior to buying, I did my research, made a list of exactly what I wanted, and shopped around Atlanta and the Southeast in general pretty hard for at least a month. While I was able to find other 2003-2006 CR-Vs with AWD in my search (and at prices considerably lower), I never saw one as clean and cared for with mileage as low as the one I purchased from Automotion of Atlanta. The pre-purchase and purchase experience was great—absolutely no pressure. I believe I came to visit the vehicle at least twice (possibly three times) before signing on the dotted line. Richard was also very straightforward that the price was firm—which I appreciated, and I soon understood why:On my first visit, I showed up just prior to the leather specialist that Richard brought in to recondition the seats in what was already a very clean, great-looking vehicle. I was very impressed by this attention to detail. Not only that, but Richard listed the mechanical improvements he made to the vehicle prior to sale, as well. For example, he replaced the AC compressor because he didnt like the way it sounded, and he also made sure to take the vehicle to a registered Honda service center to repair a recall that was unaddressed prior to this acquisition of the vehicle. Suffice it to say that Richard knew the vehicle inside and out. As far as Im concerned, Automotion of Atlanta has really put all other pre-owned vehicle dealerships (including the large, corporate ones) to shame.I left empty-handed after the first visit because Id hoped for a price reduction and didnt get one—but ultimately I did return to Automotion of Atlanta to make my purchase within a week or two. After visiting other corporate and independent dealerships that tried to pass off vehicles in various states of filth and terrible repair, I came to understand why many used car dealers get (and deserve) a bad rap. Unlike those bad guys I encountered in my search, I trusted Richard almost immediately because he was able to demonstrate that he wouldnt dream of sending anyone home in an unsafe or unclean vehicle. u2028u2028Richard and his son Eric know exactly what theyre selling—inside and out. The cosmetic and mechanical standards are high for the vehicles they sell, and it shows. You may pay above Kelly Blue Book, but for very, very good reason. These vehicles are often older, sought-after model years with very low mileage relative to age and are often one-owner “unicorns”. These cars don’t leave with anyone until Richard and Eric have brought them up to their (again, very high) standards. And on the off-chance they missed something—they will get it right for you.A few hours after I made the purchase, I discovered a couple of things about the vehicle that I, nor Automotion could have known about prior to sale and a bit of driving around. Richard and Eric were very responsive. They not only came to pick up the vehicle and immediately made the necessary repairs, but they returned it to me. That is service, my friends. I should add that the purchase was As-Is, so this repair and delivery post-purchase was especially impressive. These guys are shining examples of honesty, integrity and true decency. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

Step 1: post your dealership car under “for sale by owner” on Craigslist instead of “for sale by dealer”.Step 2: be completely disingenuous about the condition and trim package of the vehicleStep 3: ensure the purchasing party has to drive more than 4 hours to ensure that they have no choice but to buy the car they very much desire.I advise steering clear of this stealership, folks. I don’t know how he gets ahold of these rare cars, but they’re not worth the trouble. My friend bought a car from here and his story echoes many of the ones already listed here. As said “new tires”, with new tires pictured. When he picked up the vehicle, the tires were old, worn and dry rotted. Additionally, the ad said “paint in mint condition”. There are swirls in the paint really bad. Additionally, they sprayed the engine bay down with engine degreaser, leaving a nasty film. Additionally, the ad said “keyless entry” but provided 0 key fobs and only a single non-fob key, which can incur a cost of upwards of $200 just to get a proper fob. Additionally, the car wasn’t even clean when he picked it up. We drove 5 hours to get there so we couldn’t just turn around. I could go on for days with all the caveats that this dealer will present but don’t waste your time and just leave this place alone.I want a car that they’re selling but they’re asking $1000 above the high end of KBB retail and the ad lists “new tires”. I can’t afford to pay $1000 above fair value only to have to replace the tires. I’m not gonna get tricked by these scammers just like my friend and I’m sure countless others have been. For your own sake, learn from others before me and buy from anywhere else.

I flew into Altanta and Eric picked me up from the airport, and we headed straight to the dealer where he had already dropped the car for a pre-purchase inspection at my request. The car wasnt done yet, so he took me out for a fantastic breakfast. Thats good customer service. He sent me pictures of the underside of the car and made me feel very comfortable flying in to buy a used car sight unseen. I found Eric to be honest, straightforward, and very knowledgable about cars and his business. Hes obviously an enthusiast and that shows in the way he conducts business. Initially I thought Richard knew the Honda CR-V and had a reasonable price. In going through the process of spending $160 for the inspection, I learned that the listing and photos on Autotrader stating and showing New Tires was not true and in fact were 2011 aging Michelin, with 20 to 30% remaining tread per my inspector. Also found out the car had a RV towing Blue Ox baseplate which I wanted but tow mileage not on the odometer was not accounted for in the pricing. Owner refused my reasonable offer based on KBB and Edmunds for Retail Dealer with very good condition and refused to furnish 2 sets of key and fobs, emissions inspection and missing owners manual for 2006 Honda CR-V SE at the Firm Price he demanded. Dealer stated he would generally remove the towbar before listing the car. Do not know what kind of fees he would have tried to add. I learned the hardway that I could not rely on the info from this dealership and felt like a bait and switch process. I was never able to get a complete copy of the CarFax and the Screenshot of the front page Richard texted me had a lower car value than the copy he gave my inspector after the inspection (was promised by Richard he would be given CarFax before the inspection).
