I dont like giving such low ranking for a local ice cream shop - and I know this post wont keep people from stopping in, but - this had to be the most uninteresting, and least flavorful ice cream Ive ever had. We had 3 different flavors - orange sherbet, raspberry sherbet and cookies & cream - they were all just...bland. Theres no other way to say it! They have a great spot - directly across the street from a Riverview walk, so people will always go there, but be forewarned - the ice cream we had was simply bland. I hope they work on their flavors to give them a little more taste - this is the kind of place you WANT to stay in business, but NOT with flavorless/average ice cream!

The ice creams are alright. I am willing to give it a solid 3/5 for the ice cream. But the most interesting thing about this place is the view of Louisville from the Jeffersonville. After ordering the ice cream, enjoying the view gives you a nice feeling.

This is our favorite ice cream place... its a pretty yellow cottage across the Ohio River on the Jeffersonville side. We visit here quite often... specially while are friends are in town!!And our dogs love their complimentary vanilla.I am a huge chocolate lover, so Atlantic city and Angels delight are my favorite!!Its been 2.5 years We moved to this beautiful town, and each time we come to river, we stop here for some sundaes and if youre are ice cream lover, you should too!!

5 stars for the building and the view. The house is amazing and it’s a great place to sit and watch the river with a great view of Louisville.3 stars for the ice cream. The strawberry Sunday used gelatinous strawberry goo instead of real strawberries and they were a bit too stingy with the nuts.It was a one woman show when we went and I thought she did a great job, but it did make things a little slow.

Discovered this little place this past weekend when I was out for a walk. Truly great ice cream!!

Very sweet lady working the front door because of limitations of ppl. She mentioned being a one woman show today. She kept her patience during the hectic moments and was very polite and prompt with her service. The kids and I got our sweet treats, Superman ice cream with sprinkles and a large chocolate malt for mom. Both kids were very pleased and my chocolate malt was amazing! This was my 1st time ever visiting the beautiful ice cream shop. I hope to come back soon. Even though we couldnt go inside the family and I really enjoyed eating our ice cream outside with the amazing view!

My son and I met an old friend and had some catching up to do. We decided on the Widow’s Walk. Great atmosphere. The ice cream was fantastic and was rivaled only by the customer service received from the owner and one young lady with a great work ethic. We enjoyed our time there. Closed it down and had a great conversation with the owner to finish the evening. Very impressed how this business is ran and operated. Nothing but respect. If you want some of the best treats and atmosphere come on out and give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. This isn’t our first trip there and it definitely won’t be our last. Keep on doing what you are doing. Looking forward to my next visit already.

This is the best place for ice cream and scenery at the same time, wonderful flavors, many different option to tantalize your taste buds, from smoothies to floats you cant go wrong at the widows walk, the only down side is the fact that their season ends in a week and a half, so get in while you can.

We went here yesterday afternoon and I absolutely loved this beautiful house and great location. At first, the covid precautions seems confusing but everything is quite literally spelled out for you, and there are tables in the shade, which is nice. The view and atmosphere is perfect. Also I sincerely appreciate the owners keeping this place running while the whole world is short staffed during a pandemic. I have been hoping cute places like this will be able to stay open.My husband and I thought the ice cream was OK. It seems store bought (or at least not made in-house), which was a little disappointing. But the portions were fantastic and the presentation was great. We will come again for the great location, atmosphere, and service.

Yesterday, after a hot walk down to the falls, my son and I were looking forward to stopping at this place for the first time to get some ice cream. Im not sure what kind of day the lady working was having but she was incredibly rude to the customers. They have a number process with the menus on a table, myself and another lady with several children were standing and looking at the menus when she basically said if youre number isnt up then you need to move back... we were talked to like an inconvenience rather than people willing to spend money at your small business. We all left. Will not be back.

First, the location is perfect, right along the riverfront. Two, the ice cream is delicious. Its not made on the premises but it definitely tasted homemade (creamy and flavorful). Lots of outdoor seating.

This was our first and last visit. Our 5 kids wanted to go to Chillers, but we convinced them to try out the Widows Walk because we were going to go to to the Falls of the Ohio after. It took 45 minutes from the time we arrived to the time we got our order consisting of 3 sundaes and 1 shake. Our kids grew very impatient and wished we had gone to Chillers instead. There was no place to sit while waiting other than the ground and no shade. I know we were not the only ones disappointed in the wait as other people waiting were also commenting about it. I cant imagine possibly waiting even longer on a hot, sunny, or busy day. The sundae combinations were creative but the ice cream it self was lacking. The ice cream i had was not sweet, if it were not for the brownie in the bottom to add sweetness we probably would have just tossed it. The price was high even with the 7 of us sharing, but would be more worth it with faster service and better tasting ice cream. The best part of our visit was sitting across the street and looking at the river once we finally got our ice cream.

Super friendly staff. Ice cream is awesome and the special sundaes are out of this world. One of the best banana splits around. Over looking the Ohio River into downtown Louisville enjoying your treat under a shade tree is the cherry on top!

Was a little disappointed with our recent visit. The set up with COVID was a little strange. At first it didnt seem like they were open because no one was outside to take order. We used to go here a lot when we lived in Jeffersonville. Its always been pricey but I remember the ice cream being better so didnt mind. This time I had the strawberry cheesecake ice cream which was horrible. Tasted like vanilla ice milk with fake strawberry swirl. My wife had chocolate peanut butter which was better. The view of Louisville while sitting to eat was the only thing that made this return worthwhile.

Delicious. Prices might seem high but even a small specialty sundae is a lot of food. About enough to have ice cream as a meal. Also the few food items are priced well for what you get. Also the hot fudge is amazing.

One of the cutest coffee shops, with some real southern charm. Coffee, frozen drinks, muffins, cookies - in a quaint setting with outdoor seating and a great view across the river to downtown Louisville. No idea why there arent more reviews for this place.

First visit since early in the pandemic. New ordering system still in place. Maybe a tad slow because of extra steps to get order to/from the scoopers inside. More space for tables/seating but its best anyway to take your ice cream across the street and watch the Falls of the Ohio River flow by. Plenty of park benches and picnic tables for seating.Note: the 2-scoop sundae has really big scoops! Probably could have gotten by with a 1-scoop version.

First time here.....outside ordering seems really inefficient. The lady working the POS machine seemed to have to go inside to hand deliver each order to the person inside processing the orders.After standing outside waiting for my turn in direct sun.... no shade at all. I gave up and left.Ill be back the try it again. But Ill wait until the outside ordering is a better setup.

LOVE this spot. So special and charming. The home they have is gorgeous and has the best view of Louisville’s skyline. Their sundaes and ice cream are delicious. You can also rent bikes here. They have a coffee shop as well that is wonderful. All workers are so kind. Great spot for a date or pretty walk!

Awesome ice cream joint. End of story. Literally on the other side of the bridge when going into Indiana. The waterfront is across the street and has a sidewalk with benches and a few large trees to provide some shade.The portions are right for the price - the ice cream is premium priced, but its also premium quality and PLENTIFUL quantity.Before the beginning of the modern plague conditions, you could also rent a bicycle to ride around, if youre into that sort of thing. All in all, a quaint, but cool little shop. Highly recommended.

The sundae was good but not as well constructed as expected for the price. However, the park across the street has beautiful views of the Ohio River and downtown Louisville.

Staff were very helpful to us helping us rent a couple of bikes. Rode down the river to the boat ramp. Its $8.00 an hour. We rode an hour and 15 minutes. The we got a couple of icecream sundays. Came to $26.75. Set by the river enjoyed our icecream and watched it flow by. A very nice way to spend a couple of hours. I highly recommend this place.

Widows Walk is cute and fun. The prices of ice cream are a little high, ranging from $3-8, but their are some good deals on Groupon. They have a variety of unique flavors and original combinations for shakes, floats, etc. They also rent out bikes, both single riders and double riders. Its a great place for families to visit. The only downside is that they have no public restrooms, and the attached coffee shop does not allow non-customers to use their restroom. This is a photo of one of their sundaes. One sundae is definitely enough to share! 🍨🍦🍧 I alao found a painted shell down tje street. 😊

Best ice cream in the area! Have been coming here for years and it is always so good. The raspberry fudge cordial is amazing as is the chocolate. My husbands fave is the cookies and cream.

It was a nice but different place. It is across from a little park so that is great the only thing I didnt like what my ice cream melted real fast I was not able to really enjoy it.

This quaintly beautiful, stately Ice Creamery has to be one of the best in the county! The prices are great and the ice creams huge and delicious! Great views of the Ohio River and a Riverside Park right across the street. Quite the treat in more ways than one. They also have bicycle rentals and a coffee shop! Check it our folks you wont be disappointed!

Not super friendly or cheap but it has good tasting shakes and sorbet. Its right by the water which makes it a an easy choice for a treat on a sunny day.

The Widow’s Walk is a perfect place to start or finish your day. Their coffee is amazing and the owner and workers are so sweet and accommodating. Their ice cream is so good. I have tried many flavors and you can’t go wrong with any! My favorite right now is the Pumpkin seasonal!! If you haven’t tried this cute and quaint spot in southern Indiana by the river, you are truly missing out!!

Great little coffee shop to have a delicious muffin and some good coffee. Hot, iced, cold brew, and lots of flavors and varieties to choose from! Plus the location is perfect for enjoying the view while sitting in the nice and relaxing outdoor area. They have soy and almond milk options as well, if you dont do dairy in your coffee.Will definitely be back to try all the other options and muffins. :)

The desserts are magnificent! It was my first time going & it took me a while to decide but the staff was very patient & kind about it. I cant remember the name of the dessert I ordered but I had a huge brownie & 2 scoops of strawberry cheesecake ice cream with chocolate fudge sauce, whipped cream, nuts & a cherry on top. It was huge & sooooooooo good!! The parking lot has a wonderful view of the Louisville city line. Prices are decent for the treat you get. I recommend ordering the large if youre on a budget, its large enough for 2 to enjoy! Theres a place to sit inside & order food, as well as a bicycle rental station. Family oriented & by a park!

Great place for a cool treat

By far one of my favorite ice cream places Ive ever been to and FAVORITE in the area! We always make a point to stop here if we find ourselves over the bridge. The owner is so sweet and takes pride in her cute establishment. I love the variety of flavors and how much you get for the price. Whenever we have out of state visitors we take them, because whats better than some delicious ice cream and a gorgeous view of Louisville? Also try the new coffee shop right next door. Same owner, so you know its worth the try!

The ice-cream was excellent and the view is amazing right on the riverfront. The prices are high but that is to be expected considering the location. Definitely a nice place to take a date or your kids for ice-cream on a nice day.

Wonderful place to stop and grab ice cream or a delicious coffee drink. My daughters and I stopped in for a treat on our way to the Falls of the Ohio. I got a frozen mocha and my girls got ice cream cones, pictures are worth a 1000 words. We really enjoyed our visit, we will be back again.

Just discovered this place and it is absolutely amazing.We got a chocolate malt and a strawberry cheesecake milkshake and they were so worth it.The staff is super friendly and explain everything on the menu.All in all we will be back alot.

Got called in for an emergency gig of karaoke, and it worked out pretty good for everybody, including my friend that called me to help out.But besides all that, I had a wonderful time being there surrounded by great people, and a great venue. I would most definitely come back to that place time and time again.

My family and I love this place! They have great ice cream and awesome customer service. They are always super friendly! The location is wonderful, as well. We like walking over after the kids play on the playground across the street. We can relax and look at the beautiful view of Louisville.

The BEST of the BEST!!!The ice cream is the BEST in the area, the view of the river is AMAZING and it is in walking distance from downtown Jeffersonville! The owner and staff work extremely hard to provide GREAT service and the well cared for grounds create a very relaxing environment for everyone!! We visit all of the time, but we brought our family for Mothers Day and they loved everything about Widows Walk. The owner even took time from her busy day to stop by and visit for a few minutes. Me and the fiance have been several times since we moved to Louisville. We always get an ice cream and sit and watch the Louisville skyline. The energy from the staff has always been great, ice cream is good, service is prompt. Good stuff guys, we enjoy coming here. Its not the same when we dont stop by for a scoop. Keep it up!

We went to get ice cream when it was blazing hot outside. You know, people get ice cream when its hot... and they were closed because it was... too hot. What a joke.

Lovely to have such a store around the river park. Hope they get enough business, I dont want see them close like lots of small businesses in that area!

We had a large group of 15 & EVERYTHING was delicious! Adorable seating area with cutest umbrella /Victorian style table & chairs embellished with strings of soft white lights. Even better than the atmosphere is the view of the river & the is close proximity to the walking path along it!

We had a family photo shoot on the beautiful Indiana side of the waterfront. Afterwards we all had ice cream in various flavors and it was delicious.The kids are still asking to go back there.

Widows Walk not only has amazing ice cream and dessert options, but also a beautiful view of Louisville and the river. There is direct access to a bike path and bike rentals available. I have been many times during the evening, when the city lights are bright, and have never been disappointed!

I love this place! Their bourbon coffee is delicious! I love their decor. The home is beautiful. They have a good selection of ice cream, frozen coffeea, specialty coffees, deserts and fresh brew!

Highly recommend! The birthday cake ice cream in a waffle cone is delicious! They have custom flavor Affotgatos named after employee creations. The owner has a great presence and gets to know customers while they enjoy the treats. Great for families and a beautiful skyline view of Louisville.

THE best place to grab some ice cream when visiting Louisville. They have a BEAUTIFUL view of the Louisville skyline. They have a cute little shack behind the house to grab some ice cream and rent bikes. I only get the Chocolate, peanut butter, banana milkshake! Ive tried other shakes and they just dont compare. My sister (an out of towner) tried the Big red with sherbet and loved it.I gave it 5 stars because the view is just unbeatable my only note I have is I dont THINK there is much seating. I could be wrong and there may be other seating available off of the house but it doesnt look welcoming in the evening/night (Most optimal time to go to see the skyline).

Wonderful place, with tasty ice cream! A great place to visit on the other side of the river.. and its very close to the Falls of The Ohio State Park. Perfect for a great snack after fun with fossils!

The ice cream is delicious but EXTREMELY over priced. They take full advantage of their location, and more than double their prices compared to other companies. The bike rental is a great idea, but once again they are completely ridiculous on their pricing. I would like to say, if they lowered their pricing on items even 50 cents & lowered the price on their bike rentals, they would end up making more money in the end. They would actually receive more business, boosting their sales and turning more of a profit.
