She also is a pastry chef, so she is well versed and can answer questions and give guidance while you’re there! 💛

My first time at the store and Even though I only grabbed a couple of things, she literally has everything! She’s attentive and made sure everyone and I that walked in got help when needed. Affordable compared to ordering online! A turntable that would’ve cost me about 20-25 at the end, I got for $12, Definitely will be back for my supplies!

Wow!!!! This place has everything for cakes, for chocolates, for decorating, for cookies ... you name it!!! This of better than Michael’s in terms of selection! The owner (I’m assuming) was so helpful and so sweet too, I can’t wait till I have more cakes to do!!!!! It has cookie cutters, boxes, cake boards, fondant, filling and buttercream frosting !!! My goodness!!!

Let me first say, I am very, very glad that this place exists in our community, so I’ll continue to support them. That’s a good thing! They could offer more in terms of product, as it is quite limited. Unless you’re a candy maker, there is not a whole lot to choose from for a baker. I think most importantly, the two that generally work there are not the warmest & lack enthusiasm for all who enter. A pleasant smile and a sincere “thank you!” goes a long way.

We held our daughters 11th Birthday Party here! Great experience. All the kids loved the cupcake decorating. We felt at home. We will definitely come back for more lessons.

I adore this place and the family. Lori has been so helpful and informative about everything! Always working to stay abreast and well stocked while cake and confection trends change by the hour! They truly go above and beyond. I see a couple people talking about poor customer service and while I know everyone has a bad day here and there ive seen first hand what come of the customers put her through. Shes amazing and handles even the most difficult customers with kindness. Those are the kind of people that go to Walmart once a week and get treated like cattle but expect red carpet accommodations from a small business owner.

Very disappointed. Owner and staff are rude. Do not help you.I asked the owner for help and she said for me to figure out my self. The store is messy. Looks nothing like the website. They do not give you a receipt that it would be texted & never received it. Unable to reach them as phone dials busy. They were out of everything that I needed. Not worth the drive or time. Would definitely not recommend their store.

Im not sure why Ive yet to review Cakewalk Chicago...maybe because Ive been coming here before I ever even heard of Google. Ive been trekking to Cakewalk Chicago since my daughters were in carseats and strollers, and from 3 different homes, as far as the northern edge of the city, and it is ALWAYS worth the trip, whether to stock up on items or take a class.And dont let the name fool you - it aint just for cakes! Loris shop has been a cookie wonderland for me, with so many cookie cutters, sprinkles and dragees, amazing fondant (that I never would have tried, had she not introduced me to it), and more.The customer service is AMAZING and something you cant get at one of those big box craft stores. I cant tell you how many times Ive called to inquire about a particular fondant color or cookie cutter - and if its not in stock, she can tell me when it will be. If it is in stock, but they are about to close, she will work with you to make sure you get what you need. Issue-solving? Lori will help you figure things out, whether its a particular shape of cookie cutter, cookie theme youre working on, or even decorating and baking troubleshooting.Cakewalk Chicago (and Lori & Family) is an amazing Chicago area resource for baking enthusiasts and professionals, and a shining example of why there will always be a place for small, family-owned businesses...there is no substitute for the passion she brings to the baking industry.If you bake - make it a point to get here sometime.

One-stop shop for all your baking needs! They have a comprehensive inventory of items for baking and decorating. We like to get big 1lbs blocks of handmade caramel for dipping apples around Halloween. When my daughter wanted a Frozen cake for her birthday, they had snowflake sprinkles in-stock! You have to check it out.

I set out to make a cake that my sister in law saw a picture of and became quite excited over. I stumbled upon a quaint store conveniently located right off the Beverly Hills Metra train stop. But dont let the size fool you they are home to an abundance of baking/candy making supplies. I can confidently and proudly say that I am a fan of Lori. She was so helpful, knowledgeable and polite this morning when I went into Cakewalk. I went in unsure and nervous about the cake I was trying to create or re-create. Lori took a look at the picture and took me right to the products I would need also provided helpful tips and suggestions. She demonstrated how honest this establishment is by giving me tips on how to use one product in multiple ways in stead of trying to sell me multiple items or products. I had a really satisfying experience in the store and I cant wait to go spend more money with them. Lori even seemed interested in my finished product. Cakewalk is now my go to for all things baking and candy making. I recommend you at stop by and check it out for yourself.

By far one the best cake supply stores I’ve purchased from with a welcoming environment. I have taken a Cake class and purchase all of my supplies for my small business from this shop. The owner is very helpful and has such a beautiful spirit. I will continue to purchase from this supply shop for my pastry business.
