Robert was so eager to help me find exactly what I wanted. Found the perfect chair to go with an antique roll top desk. Such a neat store!

I am addicted to the unique rarities you can ONLY find in Chicago, at Hawthorne. Scooped up a set of wooden chairs, an awesome one of a kind yellow glass ornamental, a wooden ball made of sticks (amazing concept art), best of all - a large abstract knot made of metal (incredible). Amazing rustic + post modern major quality pieces available. Blown away by this place. Dont miss this gem.

What a great store! Robert has impeccable taste and a beautifully curated selection of vintage furniture, local art and gifts. And all of it reasonably priced. I was recently shopping for a large old work table to outfit my home office. He didn’t have exactly what I needed in the store BUT he tracked down just what I wanted and refurbished it beautifully. Remarkable customer service. Great looking, ever changing inventory. Really enjoy shopping there.

Robert’s shop is nothing less than DELIGHTFUL. I saw everything from Eames Herman Miller chairs, to gorgeous pieces of antique furniture, to unique items that could be totally personalized gifts. We came away relatively unscathed for our first trip there, with one unique furniture item, which he cleaned up and installed drawer liners into for us.Everything is hand picked by Robert himself. He’s got excellent taste. You can spend a lot of time here, salivating over the great finds. We’ve just moved to the neighborhood and I can see this being a regular stop!

Such a perfect place to find a hidden gem for your home! The pieces in the store are unique and stylish. Whether it’s a set of chairs for your living room, a lamp or end table for your bed room, or a cool storage solution for a guest room, you’ll find something here that just feels right. And Robert (the owner) is the best! Lucky to have this great shop in my neighborhood!

Roberts collection is eye-catching from the street, and once you walk inside, his customer service is super inviting. We found some ideal pieces for our space, and his connections with local craftsmen/craftswomen provide some good variety between antiques and contemporary handmade gifts. Its a great place to spend some time on a weekend shop/wander.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this store. My husband and I bought a dining room set here after we got married this past summer. The shop owner, Robert, helped us pick out the most perfect heirloom furniture, which is in exquisite condition. The shop is full of unique and beautiful vintage goods. I pop in every time I’m in the area! So glad to see this shop round out the block, which is already full of great shops!

Everything in this shop is beautiful! The owner, Robert has an amazing eye and and puts things together so artfully--you just want to buy a whole corner of the store! Hes also a lovely person who is happy to help if you need it but not at all pushy. If you are looking for something in particular and he doesnt have it, he will offer to try to find it for you. Wonderful shop.

Robert has an amazing eye and knows what we want before we do! He found me an absolutely amazing bathroom cabinet that he lovingly restored. It has transformed my not-so-great bathroom into something really beautiful. And if you dont see what you are looking for he will hunt something down for you. While you are there, visit the other shops next door-its Chicagos best kept shopping district secret!

This place is just fabulous! Not only are the items being offered beautiful, useful and appropriately priced but each one has been given just enough TLC to make you feel youve found a real treasure. The owner, Robert, is devoted to making sure each piece is in great shape for long term satisfaction. The assortment is primarily vintage and industrial but also very eclectic with something for everyone. And as a bonus this shop is one of 5 great shops in the block including my own: Union Handmade.
