Joseph is amazing. He was able to repair and refinish this old steamer trunk that has been in my family for generations. I had no idea how much things like this cost (and quotes I was getting from other places were SUPER HIGH) but Joseph asked me what my budget was and then worked with me to figure out what we could do within my budget. He stripped the paint, refinished the surface, repaired a broken corner and added some tiny legs to the bottom to protect the small vintage wheels along the bottom (which I didnt even know were there, honestly.) It looks AMAZING and I spent half of what I would have spent at the other places. Joseph was also able to give me some really cool history about what kind of trunk I had, which I appreciate. I trust him completely and I will absolutely go back to him and his team for my future furniture needs.

Joseph and his team did an amazing job with our vintage couch. We had a pretty tough project for them fixing up and reupholstering our vintage couch with significant puppy damage. I recently had an antique caned chair repaired by Chicago Furniture Restoration and was very happy with the results. Frankly it looks better now than it did before it was damaged. I dont think that I would ever guess that it had been repaired. The workmanship is of a very high caliber and I have no hesitation in making a wholehearted recommendation.Furthermore, since this work was covered by an insurance claim, there was a need for a clear trail of paperwork and CFR was also helpful with that.I will definitely take any future furniture work to CFR.

Joseph refinished an antique bedroom set that is very dear to us. He also coordinated the replacement of one of the glass doors in a dining room cabinet for us. Joseph is a perfectionist who truly cares about he quality of his work. He was a pleasure to deal with and we will definitely utilize his talents when the arises in the future.
