I found this place by accident. My wifes car was sidelined and we had it towed to the nearest garage which happened to be this place. It was found it was something with the ignition and something with the dash panel that needed replaced. They said it was going to be about $900. Then out of nowhere we get a call about 3 hours later from Keith. Keith said he called around to a bunch of other junk yards and found a used panel for $30. We never asked him to. Keith just took the initiative and did it for us to try to do us a favor. We accepted and the car ran fine ever since. Earned my business for life and hasnt done me wrong once.

The employees were very receptive and easy to talk to. They were eager to help in any way they could. What i needed was taken care of quickly and efficiently. Definitely will return there if i need help with my car.

I have always heard good things about United. Took two of our cars there over the years and wont be back. One of our cars they stated needed about $800 in repairs so decided to take it to another garage and was told all of the parts that United stated needed replaced were fine. Did end up replacing the one part about two years later, guess United wanted me to replace it two years early haha! Im sure some people have had great luck with them but I did not. I did notice when waiting for my car the one time there are a lot of younger guys in the garage just hanging out not really doing their jobs. Makes me wonder how much these younger guys really know or how much they want to work & help you.

First time using this shop and I will have to say very impressed! Ive never been to a shop that when you make an appointment your car actually goes in on time and keep in mind they were busy. My car was on the lift, looked over and I was out the door 15mins earlier then expected! Thats a first. Fair pricing, and honest work.

Professional friendly service at fair price. I was looking for a specific tire and called several shops. Most checked their primary source and said they werent available. Keith at United said he had multiple suppliers and would call them to see. He still wasnt able to get the tires I wanted but at least he made an effort. I bought the tires online but went to United for installation. Ill return for other auto needs in the future.

So disappointed on the price of their service. I was told is was $36 for an oil change and $20 for tires rotation.. end up paying $85 apparently labor is not included with the oil change. Will not recommend and definitely not going back.

They lied to my wife stating low profile tires were not passable because of the ground clearance.The car had an 8 inch clearance with the new tires.To top that off DMV and Pa.dept of transportation clearly states ground clearance requirements.They were pissed because I did all the work for inspection instead of allowing them to rip us off.

On Christmas Day 2018, my car appeared to be overheating. Stop in Chambersburg and had to spend the night. Next day I took my Jeep to United Automotive. Thought the problem was my water pump. Left car in the hands of United. They repaired the car. It was only the coolant fluid reservoir. Truly an honest organisation. Instead of hundreds for a new water pump only paid 148 to have a new Reservoir put in place. Great place for a car repair

Open on Saturdays, which is a huge help. Car inspection was fast and painless. Hubby had them put on new tires with alignment and was pleased with service. They seem to be careful to not scratch or damage vehicle. Could use a larger waiting area for those who wait for service, but not a big issue.UPDATE: Have had a couple other visits here, all very positive. Had new tires put on my car. A few months later, went back in because one tire kept losing air. They quickly found the problem, and ordered a part. The next day, I went back in and they fixed it quickly. The entire time they kept me in the loop with what was going on, the plan, options, etc. Very pleased. Ive already recommended them and will continue to do so.SECOND UPDATE: Summer 2019: They moved the customer entrance and waiting area to the other end of the building (the end closest to Bob Evans) and totally renovated it. It is very nice without being flashy. Lots of seating, climate controlled, and a coffee station. The customer counter is huge, which is great when theyre busy and multiple people are being helped.Still providing excellent service at fair prices. They now have a lovely woman working the desk and she is so pleasant and helpful each time she interacts with someone. I think she strives to make everyone feel valued.This place is always busy, so if you can schedule in advance, I recommend minimally a week, better if you can go out two or more! If it is something urgent and they cant get you in, they will recommend somewhere they trust.

We had two cars needing inspection-jiffy lube no longer does them, btw, and they recommended United Automotive. We drove down there and despite them being super busy, they did our inspections, fitting us in! Keith was very nice and really went out of his way to get our vehicles done. Finished fast charge too much 600 dollars to replace wheel sensor

I only gave 1 star because it wouldnt let me write anything at 0 stars. I called and made an appointment with Keith to have my car checked out. Told him I had a very loud vibration coming from right at the rear of my console area on the floorboard everytime I pulled out from somewhere and gave it gas. Thought my cat converter was located there and was bad cause I knew the code had popped up for it in my car. And also to check out my power steering. After dropping off vehicle, I get a call an hour later saying it was my cat convertor and given a price to fix it. He then said I was told u asked Keith to check your power steering but we couldnt find anything wrong with it so what was it doing or what was your reasoning to want us to check it. I said uhhhhhh it doesnt work, I have no power steering, SMH. so when I pick up my car after telling them Im not paying that price when I can buy the same GM PART for much less. Can I just go buy the part and tou install it? No!!!! Theyre price was like $810. Just for the part. I could have gotten same part from GM for $613 taxes included. So you cant make $200 from me on a part, probably more cause Im sure being a garage they got it even cheaper so you wont do the job? And I was told the rattling I heard was baffles in my exhaust that had broke free from the cat and they would have to cut my muffler off to shake it all out. No its not a rattling noise, I told u its a vibration on my floorboard, you didnt hear that? No was the answer. Well its obvious then u drove it nowhere then into the bay. Cause it happens anytime u give it any amount of gas to pull out from anywhere. I thought it was the cat at the floorboard view rating but what I thought was the cat, they informed me was my resonator, which was about the only thing they said that was true, and that my cats being I have 2, were located by motor. So upon leaving ther $50 later and still no further ahead than I was b4 I got there, the next day as on talking g to my buddy thru blue8in my car and he hears that vibration thru the speaker, i come to find that the vibration was my drive line beating up against my floorboard because my carrier bearing was shot. Sweet. And I had just replaced coil packs and plugs not long b4 this all which is what caused my cat converter code to come on in car and their was really nothing wrong with it but yet they said I had baffles from cat thru exhaust and were gonna have to cut muffler off. WOW. Great mechanics you have. Thank you so much for not letting me bring in the same part myself and having me waste $1000 on something I didnt even needto only have the issue at hand remain. And great job on cant find anything wrong with power steering when it doesnt even work. Guess since he only drove in bay he couldnt tell that?IDK? but my service power steering message was even on on my display center lol. Enjoy the last $50 you will ever take from me

Snapped a stud on a friends vehicle then when asked about it they didn’t own up to what they did and said he could make an appointment for a couple weeks out to replace it for over $60. Wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
