They were out of a lot of lures but said I could always order online. Didnt really check out anything else.Did use the restroom which was nasty! There were napkins and toilet tissue all over the floor. The trash bins were overflowing and used towels on the floor around them. There was tissue in the one stall that didnt have tissue stuck all over it or a trash bag completely covering it. The good stall had urine all over the seat and the giant roll of tissue you had to use was just laying on top of the dispenser. Worst bathroom ever.The lady that checked us out was pleasant.

Im going to rate this Academy only 2 stars. First reason is because they dont offer a discount for military veterans unless theres a holiday season. Bass Pro offers a military discount 24/7. Second when you visit the store theres never an associate to help you find what youre looking for. Youre just left to search on your own. Even if an associate sees you looking they wont as if you need help.. Academy if you want continued support as a major retailer you must do better!!

I enjoy coming during the afternoon and night but during the day isnt so great. Gun counter employee never said one thing just kept talking to a guy about personal stuff, he did however check on an older gentlemen. Other than the mornings great store.

Love coming here. The last time we came for football equipment, there was hardly any. We only found one cleat. But there was a whole section for baseball equipment. Maybe get more variety in football equipment?

Today I was told that I couldnt have my coupon of 20% off and 15%. Or could I use my email, or phone number. The lady pulled up my email and seen where my coupons had been mailed out. She called someone on the phone and asked about them. She hang up and informed me that she could not do anything for me and that they didnt have any coupons in the store. Then she stood there on her phone and twirling her hair. The guy you rung me up, stated he didnt know, how to do it. I take it she was some kind of manager. I hope not, because she had poor customer service. Had I went too the Sports Academy on Markham. They wouldve let me use my coupons.

Great local pizza joint. Pizza had great flavor sauce was excellent. Crust could of been a little crisper.

Dont like store. I wanted to exchange a mothers day gift.i already had one. They wanted give me$2.89 for a $20 item because I had no receipt. Thats bull. I will never shop there...

Shopping for a kayak. Not enough staff available, but I found someone to help and found the kayak I wanted. He was quite helpful. Staff at the desk were very helpful on checkout. The person who helped me find the kayak helped me load it into my truck and tie it down.

Horrible experience. Called before I left work 2 hours away and was assured they had a full pallet of them. Got there 2 hours later and not only did the attendant skip me and help someone that just walked had walked up. Low and behold Noone knew about the product I was assured they had. After checking, a manager verified that it sold out that morning..... then why when I call at 3pm do you assure me there is a full pallet. Looks like thats one little blue card Ill be canceling. Would give 0 stars if possible

Staff was nice but registers moved a little slow. Shoe selection was limited but it was right before school.

Unfortunately I love this store and can stay in here hours and spend all my money. Great grilling section and best charcoal selection with plenty to choose from especially the B&B brand lump charcoal

It’s a good store and has good products and items but I definitely wouldn’t recommend doing curbside pick-up. Every time Ive done curbside pickup they always take forever and i’d be waiting a minimum of 15 minutes (if not more) until eventually I have to call someone to bring it outside. Just go inside and pick it up. A lot less time.

Supply was low and sizes limited .. “just go online and find your size” is what one of the employees told me … and that is what I did

We received word of the S&W recall on M&P Shield EZ and was advised by a gentleman in the hunting department that Academy could send it to S&W for us to get it fixed and then get it back to us...we dropped off his gun on 02/13/2021...on 03/12/2021 when we hadnt heard back about the gun, I called Academy to get status and was told to call S&W...S&W told me to that they didnt have it...when I called Academy back again, I was told that the manager found it and ran it out to Fedex. We got a confirmation email from S&W on 03/16/2021 that gave us a reference # and a typical turn around of 5-10 business days. As of today (04/05/2021) we have still received no word about our gun. I called S&W and was advised that the gun was repaired, but they were waiting on some finishing paperwork from Academy to send the gun back to them. I, once again, called Academy and was told to call S&W back and give them the Academy Stores phone number and tell them to ask for a manager. So basically, weve been without our gun for 7 weeks and when I have attempted to track down our gun, Ive been told to do the leg work myself. I would give Academy zero stars if I could figure out how.

Went around Black Friday but it was after and the deals were still allowed.Only bought one thing but the workers were very nonjudgmental and actually helpful and wonderful with my (at the time) unhappy child that was causing a big scene and disrupting the peace.So thank you all for that!

Went to return a few Christmas gifts I couldnt use and was told, without the receipt, I could only receive the lowest price each item was marked in the last 90 days... seems completely reasonable. After receiving $5, $10, and $15 for the items, I walked around and saw them marked $20, $25, and $45. You cannot tell me that these items were 75%, 60%, and 67% off in the last 90 days. Liars! Theyve lost my business. Businesses really have to understand there are consequences to cutthroat practices.

Bought a bike online and ask them to assemble. Was notified the next day the bike was ready. Went and apparently they didnt get the message to assemble. Ok, cool. We didnt need the bike until the following week. Was assured it would be ready. Went back the next week, and STILL not assembled. Apparently their assembler only work 4 hours this week. Apologized for the inconvenience. Gave me a gift card and was told I could do it myself because the instructions were easy and all the tools came with the bike. Guess what, NO TOOLS! So now Im out trying to put together a bike without tools( (other than a wrench I had in my car). RIDICULOUS!

This virus is so deadly (almost 100% recovery rate) that you MUST wear a mask but you definitely have to take it off at the gun counter. It’s sad that academy is a commie company that even enforced the masks. Used to love going here, I’ll go to bass pro for now on.

Labor Day weekend,went for a few T shirts and out of my size and color .Love a sale on fish baits and some were not on sale.Still had a great time,like a kid in a candy store,left the wife at Home Goods so I could really take my time.Great selection of coolers and cooler parts if you ever break a hinge on your favorite coolerLove this place,wish it was 40 miles closer.

Fast check out surprisingly. Decent prices but disappointed in the fact that the clearance they were advertising online was nowhere near what they actually had on the shelves very very little.

Went here to get roller skates for my wife and was very pleased. Cant find any that will fit her anywhere else. Also found some rafts for our float trip and we are very pleased with them as well.

Good coustmer service

Items that are showing online to be in stock in the store are never accurate. Second checker waited until there were 9 people in line to open a second register. Half the shelves were empty and no one seemed to be working on filling them. We asked the guy working behind the knife counter for assistance in finding a holster for the air pistol my son bought at this store earlier the same day. His response was, Buy one, and if it dont fit, bring it back. He never even came from around the counter. He had been having a conversation with another employee and seemed way more interested in getting back to that.

I bought two Mens Bike today. Had an issue with the pedal on one of them. Brought it back to exchange it. They had another one in stock but the wheel was warped. They ended up swapping the tire with the one we brought back. There staff literally when out of their way to make sure we were completely satisfied. We are so appreciated of the staff here. I would totally recommend Academy to anyone.

I stopped by the Benton, Arkansas store to make a payment on my Academy credit card had the statement with account number and cash to make payment with no one would take the payment because I didnt have the credit card with me asked to see store manager someone came up didnt introduce himself and when I asked if he would take the payment he wouldnt answer if he would or not all he said was let me explain,I told him just tell me yes or no which he wouldnt do after three attempts to get an answer from him he said have a good and leave my store.The store refused to take a payment how about for running a business.

Cheaper than bass pro but less of the selection, however academy does at least have stuff on their shelves.!

I had a very positive experience at the store. Excellent customer service. Zach and JC in the shoe department were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for helping me find some hiking boots I was shopping for last minute. Very friendly staff from the greeter at the door to the cashier who checked us out.

Normally I love Academy. Today I asked the store manager to come down 10% on a $700 kayak. He would not budge. I ask for discounts on similar priced items all the time. I have always assumed sale prices should always be attainable, and almost always the store manager agrees and discounts the item. My commitment to Academy has been greatly lessened on this day.

Decent store but terrible return policies

I would not recommend this store nor will I choose to shop at this store in the future. On 6/15/2018, I arrived at the store to purchase my dad & my husband a fathers day gift. The large sign out front on the kayaks read HOT DEALS $179.99. I go into the store the purchase 2 of them with the oars only to have to go to the front of the store and ask if someone can help me in the kayak area. I was told everyone is busy . When an associate finally came I was told the kayaks are no longer on sale. I informed the employees of the sign. After the employee saw the sign for himself, he said he would talk to a manager to see if she would honor it. I asked if the manager could talk with me and the associate said, we aim to please. When he returned without the manager, he stated the manager would honor 1 kayak in 1 color. Not 2 of the same kayaks in 2 different colors. I promptly said thank you. Have a good day.The following day I went to Dicks Sporting Goods & purchased 2 kayaks of better quality with the oars for less than the sale price of the 2 kayaks I saw at Academy Sports. The employees at Dicks were professional, polite, and knowledgeable of products. Fathers Day was a success!

It is nice to have a store nearby with such a huge variety of sporting goods and outdoor items, and Academy employees are always helpful. When I am looking for a particular item, they will show me my options. If something is out of stock, they will order it on the spot - right there in the aisle - and it will ship to my house. Excellent service!

Ok So they did not have the cleats my son needed in his size. The young man that tried to order them, ordered the wrong shoe so when I realized this I had to go back into the store to try and change the order to the correct shoe. They were helpful but unable to order the ones he wanted as they were completely sold out . although everyone tried to get it right I had to settle for a different shoe or just go elsewhere.

Horrible customer service, manager Johnny was absolutely horrible. Save yourself time and trouble by finding a better location. I was told by Johnny they wouldn’t return an item even though I had the receipt. I purchased a 24 volt trolling motor while it was on sale during 2018 because I knew I was going to need one when mine failed. It finally failed and I realized they were running a 24 volt trolling motor on a 12 volt system. So, turned out I had the wrong trolling motor. I find the one I need in stock at the Benton location. Go there (Benton store) and they basically say I’m just screwed that I’ll have to buy another one. Johnny said, “After a year the receipt is invalid”, another employee at customer service said, “I think it’s only 90days”. I call Sherwood Sports Academy where I purchased the trolling motor, nothing but respect. They returned my item and found the trolling motor I needed. They said that store policy is that they will return any item with a receipt as long as the item is resalable and regardless of the time frame. The item was brand new still in the box never been used. Manager Johnny not only cost the Benton location that $500+ dollar sell, I made sure to spend another $100 at the Sherwood location just because they were so polite dealing with me after such a horrible experience with Johnny at the Benton location. The Benton location was going to let the customer be screwed because that manager(Johnny) doesn’t have a clue how a respectable business is supposed to be run. Johnny made the entire corporation look bad because he obviously has zero morals as a human being. I have never taken the time to actually write a review like this before either but they tried to tell me that I bought a product brand new from sports academy with an as is policy basically like I was buying a used item from a pawn shop or something. Johnny had no common sense as I tried to explain to him how and why he was making the wrong decision followed by other workers saying, “Hey don’t look at me, I work for him”. Never have I run into such ignorance before. I had a part that wasn’t even in the package and I had lost the receipt for a part from bass pro shop. I didn’t even think they would take it back, manager from bass pro looked at the part and could tell it had never been used, I received store credit right then and there. I do not understand why Sports Academy in Benton felt the need to dishonor and lie straight to my face other than absolute incompetence. Sherwood responded appropriately, go there before visiting the crooks in Benton.
