Oswaldo met me in a shopping center parking lot in south Austin. As soon as he got out of the van, he introduced himself with a big smile on his face. He had so much character. Very likable guy. He explained the processes to me and was very good at ensuring me that my windshield was going to be as good as new.His van had a ton of tools in it & it was very impressive to watch him work. He didn’t seem to mind me chatting with him & asking him questions while he was doing the job. My windshield looks great I would most definitely recommend this business to anyone. Their reputation speaks for itself.

Oswaldo is invaluable! Hes so professional and accommodating. He called 30 minutes prior to the appointment (just as the scheduler had said he would). Because I had a last-minute change in my schedule, I asked if he could shift to the later part of the appointment window. He said, thats not a problem at all...Ill go to my other appointments first. He called again when he was 30 minutes from arriving. We were curious about the process, so he answered our questions cheerfully. I feel like he checked & double-checked to make sure we were satisfied with the new windshield and the procedure for us to do the tape removal, etc the next morning. Oswaldo is an employee who absolutely MAKES the reputation of a company. Hed be an asset anywhere he works -- Independent Auto Glass needs to know that & make sure they can keep him.

I got a nasty crack on my windshield on i35 from a rock impact from one of those gravel truck things that caution you to keep back 200ft. That didnt help obviously. Oswald did though! He came out to my work and did a flawless job installing a new windshield on my Mazda 3. Great price and not cheap glass that blinds you like a magnified glass. A bit overdue here for my positive review of Independent Auto Glass here in Austin. Im restoring a sprinter van and had rust around the broken windshield of my van and needed to treat it between the removal and installation of the new windshield. I explained this issue and how I would basically need special treatment in the form of one appointment for removal, one appointment for installation with several days in between where I could grind, treat, and repair the rust so as to prevent leaks and decay via rust since this is an unfortunate common issue with my make and model. I was willing to pay for the extra service of two appointments, but they said they didnt see why it should cost more to do it that way which was awesome. Theres no way I could have finagled that with Safelite.Also, have to directly mention Oswaldo. He was my tech, and a wonderful guy who was very happy to share his knowledge with me as I was perhaps being a bit high maintenance considering my misgivings about proper installation and preventing the metal from rusting out. He did an awesome job and I learned a lot going through the process with them (and should have listened to oswaldos advice to not paint the pinch weld!) and now I know how the process works. Truly was a great customer service experience all around, especially considering how much I was asking of them. 10/10, very solid experience, thanks guys!

After checking pricing from other places for replacing the cracked windshield on my 2018 Optima, they were the most reasonable. Scheduling was very easy and they showed up to my work to replace the windshield. The tech (Oswald) was extremely polite and within 30 minutes he was done and I had a brand new windshield on my car. There was no left over debris and the car was left very clean. I am very pleased with this company and would highly recommend them.

I have had the unfortunate need to have my windshield replaced twice in the last 3 months. Oswaldo and the team at IAG has dome an amazing job both times. The are priced great, reliable and on time. Hopefully I wont need them again but if I do I will be calling them again.

They replaced my glass on my CX-5 and after we noticed a defect in the new glass (not their fault), they replaced it again at no charge. Super easy to deal with through the whole repair!

Great service! I had my windshield smashed by a softball size rock that was thrown by a semi. I was not happy about having to shell out the money for a replacement windshield. Independent Auto Glass was much cheaper than what I was quoted by Safe Light (almost $150 cheaper). They were able to come out the next day and Oswald was very efficient and courteous.

Called up to get a rock chip fixed, appointment set for following day from 10am to 3pm (5 hour window? Seriously?) ok fine whatever they come to you so it should be convenient right? Waited all day at home, no call or update at all. Get a call at 445 saying he can be at my house in 30 mins. I asked if he knew what time we agreed upon yesterday, he said 11-4. Why lie? Still even if that was the time (which it wasn’t) still late with no update at all so why lie about it?Seriously, go to a professional glass shop with an actual location and not one being run out of someone’s apartment. I went to a shop on Congress and paid 20 bucks less than quoted by these unreliable guys and the guy was done in less than 20 mins start to finish and did a great job.I never leave a bad review, but this sucked.

I ended up giving him a call for a replacement window on my truck he quoted me $230 for everything when he finished the job he told me a whole different price. make sure you ask him the total price that youre going to pay after taxes. he did not even picked up any of the broken glass... I had a Similar quote from a different company I should of went with the other guy. he would at least pick up and vacuum. no pride in his work..

They asked me to send them pictures of my windshield and helped me figure out everything I needed.Oswaldo was the technician assigned to me and he was awesome! I wasnt available on the time that we originally agreed due to unexpected work but he graciously agreed to meet a few hours later. He was really courteous and replaced my windshield in about 45 minutes while I sent a few emails at a nearby coffee shop. Oh my gosh, I dont even know where to begin with this glowing review! One week into having my brand new 4Runner, I got a rock chip. I called today, spoke to Walter and he was so very nice! He told me they had a mobile technician in my area and he could be at my location in about 30 minutes. Oswald called and was at my address in less than 30 minutes. He was so very nice! They use cardboard to protect your car from the tools and product they use. He assured me (before I even said anything) that the cardboard would not scratch my car. Oswald did an amazing job! Its like hes a magician! He has 19 years of experience and it shows!

Greatest auto glass repair man of all time. They replaced my window after I was broken into. A few weeks later my window broke and I called them to come check it out. My window regulator was broken, and he walked me through and showed me what was broken, and also why it was NOT his fault that it was broken. It was broken due to normal wear in a 20 year old car. Nevermind that it wasnt his fault, he performed the repair for free. All I could afford was the part, and he followed me to the 2 stores in the rain (the first didnt have the part) and then performed the repair for free and refused my last $10 I had to pay him. I use my car for work and needed it fixed and he saved me! Thank you Independent!Also they have cheapest prices and were available same day for both repairs!

All other places quoted me $350+ and this place quoted me about 250 with tax coming out to about 282! This guy is the best. My car was broken into the night before, broken glass everywhere. He came in the same day and stayed late(an hour after they were supposed to close!) to clean out the inside of my car with broken glass even though he had no obligation to. The car was brand new and even smelled nice, he said it wasnt a detail charge but all of my stuff was neat and tidy when I got back(MUCCCHHH nicer than i keep it) and it smelled great. Now on to the window. Needless to say service was speedy and the job was done in my apartment making it very convenient. I had an older car and he had the mirror immediately in stock and didnt have to order it. If you ever need a replacement this is the place to go!! The reviews are no joke the service is top tier.

He was super patient with me and my truck, which had just chosen to not start in the afternoon unshaded heat of the day, and even managed to get me to laugh about it. These guys were one of several local businesses I called for an estimate and timeframe after the big company “SL” failed miserably/left me hanging. All of the shops I called were great in honesty and price (stay local folks) but being in a time crunch I chose Independent since they were ready and willing to come out same day. Walter spoke with me on the phone while in route to jobs and was very patient, taking time to answer all of my questions in great detail-no holding back or giving half-truths just to sell me. The technicians were an hour or so later than expected but took the time from the job they were on to call to inform me and make sure the later time would work for me. Oswald was very nice, laid back, down to earth and honest. I could see he’d been working hard all day in 100 degree heat (then had to squeeze me in the end of the day) yet he didn’t show a hint of irritation. He spent time explaining to me what he saw of the situation, what he can do, what could or could not be a problem…again in great detail without sugar coating. Within an hour or so the windshield was replaced and he showed me the before, during (once old windshield was out) and after photos he’d taken and explained all that he found (some rust-hardly enough to be an issue, etc from previous owner getting a bad replacement) and the difference with the correct moldings, etc. He took the time to explain why the crack happened, when to remove the tape, that I could drive the car right away though keep it short until morning, etc…and of course that if I found any issues to call them. He was fantastic. They were all fantastic and though it has only been an hour or so since the replacement I feel comfortable with this review. I’ll come back with updates should there be any issue. Doubt I’ll be heard from again on this particular review though. And they were $100 less than the big corporate jerks that left me hanging.

Even if I were bleeding out of my eyeballs, the doctor couldnt have seen me any quicker! The first vendor was a little cheaper and the windshield was secure, but the work looked a little sloppy to be honest. After doing a lot more research, and even scheduling an appointment with another 5 star vendor that didnt show up, I found Independent Auto Glass. Not only did they have my windshield in stock, they were able to come to my office the next day to replace it. It even started to rain about 30 minutes before my appointment, and Oswald helped to find a covered location nearby so we didnt have to reschedule. 45 minutes later my windshield was replaced and the work was quality. I hope I wont need to anytime soon, but they will be my go to for window replacement moving forward.
