I’ve been here twice and both times have been incredible! Starting off with the cute atmosphere, craft-fully decorated for an intimate, cozy environment without feeling cramped. The service & staff here are amazing and some of the friendliest people in the service industry I’ve ever experienced. The food is amazingly tasteful & presentation perfect. The hardest part about eating here is the menu is filled with so many options that all sound Scrumptious, everything from seafood to pasta dishes. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely incredible restaraunt and best food in the area. Food quality is unbelievably great-- fish is flown in nightly from Hawaii, pasta is made fresh daily, and everything else is of very high quality. The gentleman who I assume is the owner is very extremely friendly and you can tell he is passionate about this restaurant and creating a great experience.My only minor complaint -- while all the staff is very friendly and hard working, they could use another waiter or two as the wait times for drink refills, service requests, get the check, etc. can be on the slower side, especially relative to the price point.

Ive been here several times and every single thing Ive eaten from this restaurant has been incredible. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and they have a vast menu full of different selections. Everything is fresh and the owner prides himself on the fact that all the ingredients are flown in nightly and sourced from some of the best organic places in the world. The staff, especially the owner, is incredibly friendly, warm, and accommodating. I tell everyone I know about this restaurant and will continue to support them as much as I can! A true gem and easily one of the best restaurants Ive been to in our area.

Very good food and the atmosphere is nice. A little loud. They may be a little under staffed right now but they handled the Friday rush well. The lobster ravioli was great and so was the salmon. The chocolate cake was delicious!

Cute spot for dinner! Came here Wednesday night for dinner and overall everything was delicious. The decor outside and inside were so cute, and lots of lights outside—big space for outdoor dining when the weather is warmer.Food was amazing: highly recommend the Squid Ink Smoked Scallops Ravioli, and the Red Snapper with Paccheri Pasta Pesto Sauce! The Fusilli-Seafood Fra Diavolo and Spicy Mussels were good too. Cocktail drinks started at about $12 a drink.Service was great! Our server was very friendly and attentive.

Went here on a whim after finding out another Italian restaurant we were going to go to was closed. Best choice ever! The food was immaculate. And the service was extremely friendly. Not affordable enough for a weekly visit, but a really nice place for anniversaries and birthdays. Huge variety in the menu means we can return a few times & not get sick of it!

This was a highly positive dining experience. We were warmly greeted at the door and learned great background about the food offerings.Everyone loved their meals. I had the Scottish salmon. Yum. I look forward to repeat visits in order to try other things on the menu 😀

Took my family here for Mother’s Day 2021 and had an incredible experience. They have a tremendous seafood selection, which was incredibly fresh. One of the owners, Frank, stopped by to speak to us about sourcing the menu items and the fresh ingredients. Believe me people, you can taste the difference. The lamb sirloin was incredible! I also highly recommend the lobster ravioli. You’re really getting a 5 star experience here. I’d highly recommend this for special events and date nights. No need to go into DC when you have the best in Arlington, VA. Great service and friendly staff.

First of all I would like to say that the owner of this place is the sweetest. He makes rounds on every table and passes such sweet compliments to the guests. That really warms my heart.I have been to this place twice and I absolutely love the food here. Everything is cooked to perfection. They are best known for their seafood but also had duck with mushroom risotto there previously which was fabulous.They have a nice selection of wines. I really liked their Cabernet. The desserts are amazing as well.Last but not the lease. If you are dining in here I highly recommend to dine inside for the ambiance. This has to be one of the best decorated restaurants in DMV.

We had our anniversary dinner at Mele Bistro and we loved our experience! It was like having dinner in Europe! The set up and decor is very much European, food was amazing and the owner personally greets everyone and is friendly and very welcoming! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!

What a gem in Arlington! We had Seafood Fusilli Fra Diavolo and Almond Crusted Trout. The Fusilli was fantastic - calamari rings soft and not overcooked and rubbery. Nice scallops, shrimp, and mussels. And the sauce had a good zing, but wasnt overly spicy. The trout was also perfectly cooked, and the lightly toasted almonds imparted just the right amount of flavor. The menu offers a small but decent wine selection and reasonable prices as well.

The staff here are magnificent! A man (who I believe is the owner) made is rounds to every table and welcomed and thanked everyone. He told us about their buying practices (where they buy their fish, their quality standards, etc.). The waiter was great and had good reccomendations. I got the small plate butternut squash ravioli and regret not getting the dinner portion.

The cuisine is great although it took a bit too long to get these 3 scallops prepared. The service I feel will vary depending on how busy they are. In my case there was a table of 12 people being served so my service (i was by myself) felt a bit second-handed. The Caesar salad is labeled as “traditional” however, I don’t know what traditions they are following 🧐

We went for our last night in Arlington! It was an amazing experience!!! The owner was very involved came to our table several times. Interacted with my 2 year old and just made us feel like family. The food was to die for!!!!

Came here after a LONG day on our feet and it was wonderful. The staff was so friendly and seated us immediately. We were served excellent in-house bread with a satisfying assortment of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Mediterranean salt, and black and red pepper. We ordered and split a single fettuccine Alfredo dish and it was delicious. We got our dish quickly. The dishes are a little pricey, but it was well worth it. 100% Will be returning.

Recently revamped and made some nice changes. Friendly and relaxed service. Portions are generous and they have a focus on quality ingredients and homemade pastas. Recently renovated patio is quirky and looks nice but attracted some bees.

We like a lot to go out. Yesterday we went to this magnificent restaurant which we didn’t know before. We passed a delightful evening there with high-qulity cooking and an efficient team and an impressive chef. We added this place in our list and we will surely go again very soon. We deeply recommend.

Overall fantastic experience which is rare these days. Called in late on Valentine’s Day to check availability and the owner himself, Frank, took the phone call. It was already 8pm and I asked if he had any seating around 9 - He told me not to worry about reservations and to come in before then and just ask for Frank, he will take care of us. And he did just that. Met us at the door and seated us personally. He was running around all night just as hard as his staff and made sure to stop by every single table to thank the guests for coming in. Rare to see these days! Of course his staff did just as well throughout the evening. Amazing atmosphere on Valentine’s Day, my girlfriend said she really felt like it was the perfect environment for the night. Heart balloons on the ceiling to take and roses left on each table. Dim lighting and great music, and the food of course was incredible. You can tell he really cares about his customers and loves his restaurant and what he does. Frank also gets every single item and ingredient hand picked and imported either locally or from the top places around the world and he will share that with you as he reviews the menu with you. 10/10 would highly recommend. Frank definitely made some new regulars tonight!

We ADORE this place. Great for a romantic date. We tend to go at the busiest times, so service can be a bit slow, but good things come to those who wait! The shrimp scampi is so flavorful and delicious, and we love all the different types of calamari. They also always offer to refill the bread basket without me having to ask which is a small thing but makes me feel less subconscious about being a bit of a pig :P

Had the best dinner here. I ordered the Sautéed calamari and fried zucchini appetizers and the sword fish entree. All delicious. Staff was super friendly and attentive and I love that most things on the menu are farm to table with high quality ingredients. Definitely will be back

I booked this restaurant for my graduation dinner two weekends ago, and Frank (the manager, owner?) was so fantastic!! From the first phone call to our wave goodbye, I was so pleased with how he run everything, and how smoothly everything was. He was so helpful confirming and making sure the reservation was okay. I kept changing the amount of people and time and he was so convenient with us!! I was so impressed and excited to try because I read amazing reviews about the food. All 10 people of my party LOVED!! every bite!! I got the chicken parm and oh my gosh I wish I was hungrier when I was eating it because I didnt finish it and wish I did :( The pasta is so so so tasty and so well cooked. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again. The drinks were fun and strong! Much love and great energy in this restaurant. Super pretty on the inside, too. Could not ask for a better restaurant to celebrate, and will DEFINITELY be coming back whenever Im in the DMV area. Thank you Mele!!!

Wonderful Valentines Day here, then COVID-19 takeout last week. Obv the ambiance was better the first time than on my plastic patio chairs, but both ways the food was divine! Super fresh dishes ranging from very traditional to a bit more adventuresome. Did i mention *ridiculously* fresh? I really hope they make it - the owner is so nice & hospitable, he really seems to care about quality and his customers #SupportLocal

I deeply appreciate how much care the owner shows for both his customers and his food! All of the ingredients are fresh, and his animal products are ethically sourced from small farms, a lot of them local. The food tasted amazing, and he introduced himself and made sure to check-in with us throughout the night. I look forward to coming here again!

I got some amazing blackened fish. The mushroom risotto and asparagus that I chose as my side dishes were both cooked to perfection. The waitstaff and owner (?) were gentle and kind. Only one complaint was that they let my water run dry. But overall, my meal was delicious, and the experience was a fine experience.

Excellent service, excellent atmosphere, excellent food, excellent wine. My single pearl to polish is after making all that effort to get such amazing, authentic, fresh and flavorful everything else, take the time to get great tomatoes. Those tomatoes were not great.

Disappointing experience. We live in the neighborhood and had been looking forward to trying this restaurant. The staff was hurried and unhelpful. This made our dining experience rushed and stressful. The food was not impressive. My wife ordered gluten free pasta with bolognese - really bad excuse for bolognese and overly salty. My fra diavolo was bland and the seafood tasted canned. I do not recommend this place, luckily there are many other options.

If youre ever in Arlington you must visit Mele Bistro, the food was outstanding second to none. The owner makes you feel as if you are a repeat customer, even though it was our first time there and the staff is great. Cant wait to be back.

Average, and unfortunately we were expecting more. The highlight was a North Carolina Red Snapper along with sautéed spinach side. The disappointment was a shelled seafood with pasta — the pasta was over cooked and over sauced, and the calamari and clams were soggy and chewy. Also the burrata mozzarella starter is not a full cheese ball but rather about 25% of a full ball. The fried calamari starter had a very grainy batter that overpowered the flavor of the calamari and made it unenjoyable.The staff were friendly.Unlikely to return unfortunately, but if we did then we’d still only to the fish and avoid the shellfish.

What a pleasant surprise this place was! The food was good...many house made pastas and fresh ingredients; lots of items are said to be locally sourced and the meats responsibly raised. Reviews I read prior to our visit indicated the bistro was pricey, but I disagree; this restaurant was on par with, if not cheaper than, other Arlington eateries of its caliber. The atmosphere pleasant. A bustling Saturday night, but plenty of outdoor seating and space to feel safe for this covid-conservative patron.The service was polite, friendly, and helpful. Several times, I was without water, but Ill chalk that up to a busy night. Certainly the staff was hustling, including a man I think was the owner. He personally served us/spoke with us multiple times. This same gentleman also recommended an alternative bottle of wine based on our initial wine selection...I never would have selected a Zinfandel over a Grenache on my own...but it was a great choice and Im so glad he brought it to our attention! Thanks for a great dining experience.

First off, I absolutely love this place. The owner is fantastic and the food is incredible… usually. I went tonight with a table of three, took 20+minutes to get our waters, another 10 for drinks. THEN, it took over 2 hours to get our entrees, pasta dishes mind you that take no more than 15 minutes to make. The waiter came over with salads and said here these are comped, never apologized once. Food finally came, incredibly marginal, and could tell it was rushed (very surprising because the food here is usually fantastic) the owner came up (fantastic guy by the way) told us the “system was down” and comped our meals, but still no one apologized. I don’t really care that much and we still left 20% out of respect for the establishment, and I know they’re understaffed, but to be paying the amount that you do for the food there, you wouldnt expect to have such a poor service experience. Really love this place and hope they can sort out the service, but will likely not be returning after this.

Ordered through grub hub, it arrived earlier than expected, however still cold ... BUT WOW meals were delish!!! My sweetie, not a huge fan of pasta said, I love it and if it tastes this good cold we need to make an evening to dine in! Well worth the wait.Chicken parmesan and blackened chicken fettuccine. I called the restaurant and I believe it was the owner that answered when I asked to substitute dark meat instead of chicken breast, without hesitation of course ... wonderful customer service and fantastic food ... Highly recommend. Thank you again!

Not sure if they were understaffed, but we had to remind a couple of different servers about our drink orders 20 minutes after ordering. However, the food came out in a short amount of time considering how busy they were and was worth the time spent in an enjoyable atmosphere.

Went here for Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend, best dinner experience I’ve ever had. The staff was incredibly friendly. Food came out fast and the service was great. I had the seafood fettuccine and I could’ve died after eating that incredible meal. The owner even came by with roses for my girl and said they were from me. All food is organic. Cannot wait to go back and eat again. Highly recommend for any date night or just a simple night out.

Went expecting to order Italian pasta but discovered a nice selection of seafood that was recommended and delicious, and with small plate offerings, we were able to enjoy the pasta as well. The owner manager was delightful to talk with.

Mele. was. fantastic. First time visiting, and it was my birthday. Frank, the owner, was an amazing host and greeted us by name. He is a man who clearly loves his job - went in depth explaining the origins of the fish, lamb/chicken, and vegetables we would be served, as well as the homemade pasta.The food was delicious - I had fra diavolo (my favorite) and mlady had 4 cheese ravioli. Next time Ill definitely be trying some fresh grilled hawaiian swordfish.We were surprised with a complimentary slice of cake, and further surprised when the ladies at the next table had two flutes of champagne delivered. Overall fantastic night. Thanks, Frank! See ya soon!

The staff here is incredibly friendly, and we were quickly seated with no wait on a weekend night. the food is on the more expensive side, but its quite good (the steak i ordered was very tender and pleasant overall). the ambience is lovely too at night, and its in a good spot if you want to explore the nearby areas as well. outdoor seating was well-separated, and there were some nice colored lights that gave the night a fun vibe. overall, i would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good fancy meal. the bread was also really good!!

Mele is a must for Arlington dining!Currently, their outdoor patio is gorgeously decorated with icicle lights and kept toasty with heaters (which the staff graciously arranged and checked on to make sure we were comfortable).The bread is ah-maze-ing. They provide delicious fixings to make your own dipping oil. This is NOT a bread to miss to save room for the entrees, trust me. The calamari was fresh and crisp. The mussel pasta was really good - fresh housemade noodles, well cooked mussels, and a thick tomato sauce. The shrimp scampi is incredible - full stop. Order whatever you fancy, Im sure it will be delicious. But definitely make sure someone orders the shrimp scampi and you get a bite (or two).

We happened to walk by Mele Bistro after happy hour and decided to peak at the menu posted out front. While looking it over, Frank (who we later discovered to be the owner) came outside to tell us about the food and the high quality of all of their ingredients. He was so incredibly kind, we couldnt help but try it out. We werent disappointed!The service is outstanding, and dinner was delicious. You can tell they take great pride in the quality of their ingredients - they make pasta in-house, overnight fish from Hawaii, and source local organic ingredients whenever possible. I had the pasta Bolognese, and my friends ordered the chicken piccata, duck breast, and sea bass. Each of us loved our meal and left full and happy!Frank chatted with us many times throughout the evening, and he and the servers created a wonderful experience for us. He values the company of every customer that walks in, and he makes sure you know it. Dont pass this place up!

This quickly became a favorite restaurant. Its not much to look at from the outside, but once youre inside, the decor is pleasant, the staff are wonderful, and the food is incredible.

We had the most amazing Thanksgiving Day experience here. The staff and food were so good we had to return before we headed home. Everyone was so kind. The food???? Phenomenal! I wish we had a restaurant this inviting and good where we live. We would be regulars. The only downfall is, it is small, crowded and dark. Make reservations, bring your cell phone for light and your “readers” if you are older like me. Highly recommend!!!! Will come back if we get the chance to visit the area again. ♥️

Food was amazing. Mussels in white wine and buffalo mozzarella caprese. Dont ignore the Lichtenberg designed tables.

We ordered delivery during quarantine and the food was just as amazing as when having had it in person previously! The quality is top notch, and it was delivered in prompt fashion. I can’t recommend this place enough! We got the chicken parm, a grass fed burger with fries, and the calamari.Also, definitely the place to go to support local business during these crazy times.

Definitely not recommended for takeout. Bread is tasteless and rubbery like it’s old and microwaved. The penne with tricolor peppers sauce was watery and it wasn’t anything to go crazy about. My friend ordered gnocchi and they forgot it in his order, when he did go back for it, it wound up making him ill because of how oily it was. I’m afraid to try the tiramisu lol. Ugh

We came here for my sisters birthday and the food was absolutely amazing! They also had excellent customer service. A nice gentleman even came over with special salt that enhanced the flavors of our meals. He took the time to tell us the story behind the salt and where they get it from. I will definitely be back next time I come to the area!

Dont come here if you are in a hurry because it takes awhile but the food is totally worth it. The decor is simple but pleasant.

Best authentic Italian restaurant Ive been to in Northern VA. We have tried a few places and have found okay American Italian restaurants. We were just in Tuscany and Mele took us right back! The seafood is outstanding. The warmed olives, tomatoes and mozzarella appetizers were made authentically and with great attention to detail. I ordered the blackened scallops small plate on the advice of our friends. Perfection! We are so glad to have been introduced to Mele by our friends!
