I love this place my new grocery store clean place friendly and helpful staff I found everything fresh and of great quality people is always on the floor repacking and keeping everything intact. I love the botanical area

This is gonna be a quick review. I visited this Safeway for the first time today even though Ive been a proud resident of the area for over 25 years now. I was running late this morning and happened by this Safeway thinking Id pick up a coffee and some kind of pastry. I was in a hurry and grabbed what looked like a run of the mill type of donut. But when I got in my car and took a bite of the donut I thought I had traveled to donut Heaven! Im serious! Whatever that filling was, I want more and will be back very soon! Great job bakery staff!

I can see & feel changes going on at this Safeway. Newer employees are customer service oriented. They like their job and like any customer based business it will show up in the numbers

Great store with usual prices and a decently sized collection. Checkout lanes are a but awkward and self checkout could be better but overall its a good store

A good safeway in Cherrydale that is easily accessible for at least Courthouse and Rosslyn residents that have cars. This is larger than the Safeway in Rosslyn

Nice, clean, well organized, and decent prices. Ive always been a fan of Safeway just because they tend to have lower prices compared to other grocery stores. They even have wipes and hand sanitizer at the entrances and exits, which I think is great, especially during this pandemic.

Very good Safeway...where I do my food shopping...can get pretty busy....large store...pharmacy has helpful people as well as the store

Fresh cut fruit as you walk in is always good quality. Great wine and beer selection. Not so many choices for organic fresh food. Very clean from my experience.

They were good at the beginning with Covid protections . Now just hand sanitizer (really sticky) but no cart wipes. -- Also self check out machines a pain. Constantly need help and not enough staff to help.

Safeway has good safety protocols. All patrons I saw were in masks. Poor inventory of cleaning products, but that seems to still be true everywhere. I need Drano and they were out. I tried Giant and they were out too.

I really, really like this store!! Its quiet, clean, with a friendly and helpful staff, which is so needed during this COVID-19 bubble we are all in. Fresh produce, great product options, just a pleasant shopping experience. Maybe too bougie for some but just right for me. Enjoy!!

One of the best grocery stores around.

Safeway I like it, but lately not sure if it’s due to the pandemic they have new cashiers that were rude. Because of corona, I took my own plastic bags with me to Safeway -& this cashier asked if I wanted to use my own bag or theirs, which I don’t mind either way but I assumed he would put my products to the bag. After checkout he was lazy did not put my products to my plastic bag 😡 and didn’t even say sorry, I told him you should have put them, he was not sorry and stood like a dck.

I actually really love this place, but no one who works there is wearing a mask properly. Noses out, or they pull it down to talk with you, or theyre just not wearing one. We went today and were constantly being cut off by stockers not wearing masks, one which was coughing!Why do the employees not take this seriously at all?

Worst grocery store experience ever. Tried to clarify a price check and the worker named Joyce went above and beyond To be rude and disrespectful. In such shock of the manner that is supposed to be “customer service”Save your time and money and go to any other Safeway!

Love the Guacamole. Filled with lots of veggies. Also the rotisserie chicken is very tasty for the right price. They generally have excellent soda discounts.

I stop by ocaccionally after work. Nice selection of things. Always clean, and there is plenty of parking for this area.Today I stopped by to get a few things for my daughters birthday. I paid and left my wallet in the shopping cart outside... I had noticed someone was getting the carts from out side when I first went in, an employee. Around 11 pm I realized my wallet was missing. I called, got someone after a few rings and I was told my wallet was there. I headed out there (across town) and got my wallet without any issues and with everything inside like it had never left my sight. Im very thankful with the staff! Goes to show there are good and honest people out there and Im very thankful I didnt lose cards or IDs!!

Its really a lot like Giant as far as Im concerned. They have the usual club membership which gives discounts on select products, and they have a great selection. Their prices are similar to Giant as well. It feels familiar so I like it.

I call it danger-way because their deals are dangerously good. I get big respect here for being in the price club, full benefits.

It is a nice, clean, well lit Safeway but they always seem to be out of Salt & Vinegar Pringles.

Groceries and wine, beer

Well, they had water. They didnt have a lot of other things like paper products. But, they did have water. So, all in all, it was a good trip.

Very big store and you can find almost everything you need food wise. The lines are not that long. Parking is great.

I like this neiborhood Safeway because it clean. And the staff is helpful and the lines arent to long. And they have about 4 self check outs too and i used it for the first time on New Years Eve. It was easier than i thought Im not afraid of it now. And thats a good thing.

Great place for groceries for the neighborhood. A little on the small side but you will find all essentials things you need. Its great for quick runs to the store. Bakery baguettes are not that good though .

Try having more cashiers and train the ones currently there.

This may well be the smallest Safeway in DC but it is a real convenience to go in, pick up a few items and not have to go to Wisconsin Ave.,or VA. For its size it is well stocked. The employees are helpful and will gladly get an item the next day if you want something thats not on the shelf. Of course lines may be long between 2:30 & 6 pm, but they tend to move quickly.

Ok, needs to be updated. Needs better selection of organics. Prices pretty good.

Clean store, good service, friendly staff

This is my neighborhood grocery and pharmacy. I know everyone and hey know me. I think they do a great job. I also think the pharmacy is the best. They always go out of their way for me, they great me by name and deal with my issues when I forget my meds when Im on travel. I could not ask for a better neighborhood store.

It used to be a real nice place, its been taken down since, not sure if it going to be redone. They used to remodel and updated this place on a regular basis.

Friendly staff gives this conveniently located grocery store a hometown feel. Best grocery shopping in the area! It would be nice if there was a salad bar. Last but not least, this store has a wonderful floral department with a great selection and reasonable prices 😊

A good place for a nice wine and beer selection - good to pick up a couple of items, but not so great for a full week of groceries. The self checkout has saved this store in my mind.

Aisles are narrow with columns in the middle at the ends of the aisles making navigation a little difficult some times. Was disappointed that they had one side of the frozen goods aisle dedicated to frozen deserts while the other side had only a small section for frozen vegetables. This is a decent neighborhood store but go to a bigger Safeway if you want more choices.

A good local grocery store, decent organic selection, good beer and prices, and plenty of parking. I can walk here from the house so that makes it very convenient. I like the self serve checkout. Friendly, helpful staff.

The store is adequately stocked overall. The aisles are extremely narrow due to all the boxes and cardboard displays cluttering the space. Checkout is slow. Be prepared to bag your own groceries.The employees are generally friendly and do a fine job. No reason to not visit, but also not the top of the competition.

Neither a great nor terrible Safeway. For the size, they do have a variety of specialty items including Asian and other ethnic foods. However, the meat and produce sections can be lacking. Also, I swear something gets scanned at the wrong price every time I choose not to self check out--questionable. Overall, this place is much better than Giant, though, so I frequent this grocery.

Produce is fresh and food selection is good. I can always find a sale on some of my favorite foods. Pharmacy is excellent.

One of the best ones that Ive been to in a while. The layout is very open and they have the typical selection of goods. The staff is friendly and they seem to have enough people working the checkout lines. Give them a try.

Great job staying safe and keeping clean

Spent close to $300 and the meat I purchased along with the shrimp was all sour and rotten. Thank you for making my family sick! Will not be returning to this Safeway again, Ill take the 30 minute ride to Wegmans where I know my meat choices are fresh!

Great selection of organic produce & less expensive than Giant, Whole Foods or Moms. Super nice flowers and two complete aisles of wine and beer.Cherrydale Safeway is a nice store with ample free parking.

Often find expired products on the shelf, so check the date before buying. Aisles are not organized, and they like to shuffle merchandise for no particular reason (is it to make you take longer looking for something in the hopes that youll buy more stuff?)

This grocery store has gotten much much better over the years. The people working there are much more pleasant. Quite a few years ago there was a Starbucks in the store and they closed it down. That was disappointing. Now SunTrust inside of the store is closing. That too is disappointing. But as just a grocery store I think its pretty good.

Clean and organized

I always buy the flowers they last for weeks. Sure they dont have everything all the time but I would venture to say that many dont. The staff is extremely helpful and very friendly.

What can I say, its a Safeway. The lines arent usually long, theres ample parking, and they carry a pretty decent selection of organic stuff. The produce is a little well, hit or miss. The prices compare favorably to Giant or MoMs or Whole Food$. Get the Safeway card, it will save you a lot of money in the long run.
