Slide in for some comfort food. Nostalgic atmosphere with much to admire. Definitely took me down memory lane with players that I havent seen in awhile.The food was okay. I Googled steak fingers near me and this place came up. Was looking for steak fingers with mashed potatoes and I have found my go to whenever that craving hits. The green beans were bomb, fresh mashed potatoes, (could use a little salt), but overall delicious! Husband had the same dish as me and the kiddos had the corn dog and fries.The service was great. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. They are the reason we will be back.

No senior pricing but their prices are very reasonable. Most items are under $10 and the food its just good home-cooked comfort food. Ive been there a couple times now and had a good meal both times. Beef stew one time and ground steak the other time. The beef stew had fresh vegetables in it, not canned or made from a dry mix. The hamburger was obviously handmade and not some frozen patty they bought from Sams Club . The mashed potatoes tasted homemade with slight chunks of potato mixed in . I wish they used real butter instead of margarine . I wasnt crazy about the cobbler. I do wish they had breakfast meals. There is a ton of seating and the decorations are cute. The place is very clean.

Waited 40 Minutes for our food because they completely forgot to put it in. Complete joke would not recommend this place to ANYONE food cold and a disappointment on what this place is now. Go somewhere else

We enjoy the ambiance of this restaurant and the friendly staff BUT they cant seem to serve your food order at a decent temperature. The last two times weve eaten there, weve asked to have our food heated up in the microwave.Weve started ordering our food to go so we can heat it up at the house.I wish the owners/management would try the food being sent to a table. Its a room temperature at best. Never ever got.

Nice place and good food.Went on Sep 3 2018-I got the chicken fried steak which came with a nice covering of gravy and an extra bowl of gravy. It comes with 2 sides.It had good flavor and had a very comfortable home style taste.I also got the peach cobbler which wasn’t the best but it decent.I wish it was warmed up and had more fruit, but other than that it was pretty good.Will be coming here again and I’ll try something different. (For variety)

Standard American dishes, with burgers being a specialty. Food is really about 3*, but Ive always had good service here, even when its busy. Accommodating staff made my visits exceptional. Usually visit here to use one of the private rooms with a group.

The waitress did a great job. She was busy, but made sure everyone had what they needed. Food was quickly served and the chicken fry, you could cut with your fork. I wouid highly recommend to anyone who was hungry and wanted a home cooked meal, without the mess and cleaning up afterwards.

We order cheese burgers to go and its always hot and ready. Portion sizes are great and the price is right on. Ive only had the burgers and those are one of the best in town. Staff is friendly! Cant go wrong with a home plate burger!

Stopped in based on reviews while passing through. Easy to find with maps and about 3-5 minutes from interstate. Big seating area with nice baseball decor and memorabilia. You go to counter to order your meal and pick up as well. Wife had the burger with onion rings. It was okay, regular burger thin meat, onion rings came out crispy as we ordered and were okay. I had the small chicken fried steak, real mashed potatoes and green beans; sides were good chicken fry was thin and I’ve had much better. Price is fair and staff was nice.

My husband and I had the chicken fried steak. It was terrible! It had absolutely no flavor! The gravy and mashed potatoes and okra were not much better! Do they even own any spices?!Terrible!

Cheap family establishment! With a family of 6 we choose this place a lot! They have a great menu and specials. The atmosphere is fun and it has a very classic feel. The clientele is older so it is usually quiet. We love the baseball memorabilia too.

Was not expecting a whole lot, left impressed by probably the most moist simply cooked chicken breast Ive ever eaten. The rest of the fare seemed to be simple diner food. Decent diner food for great prices! Bright, self service, clean atmosphere. Seems to attract the older crowd.

I asked for chicken and I honestly dont know what kind of meat I got. My hot dog was the only good thing that I tasted. Maybe I just have a picky taste for things. Service its pretty good, all personnel is kind and respectful. I didnt say anything at the restaurant but food didnt tasted as I expected. The curly fries are good Ill give them a 9.8. Decoration and ambient its nice makes you remember the good old baseball times. Just get better with the taste please.

Homage is paid to Americas favorite pastime with baseball banners, local high school jerseys, jerseys from Amarillos past teams and memorabilia from legendary games/teams from the past. They even have a signed Amarillo Rattlers jersey!If you want a nice, quiet and simple meal from welcoming friendly folks, I would definitely give this place a try!

Our food was really good except the fries. They werent very fresh. That is to be expected though going somewhere at unusal dining times. They forgot our kids drinks, utensils, and salad. The lady running the drive through was absolutely amazing. She was very friendly and apologized for our wait for our food. Her customer service skills were on point.

Pretty bland food at a premium price. I guess you are paying for the atmosphere of the baseball memorabilia adorning the walls and floor space. Would not recommend. Just go to the Subway or Sonic nearby if you want a better meal for about 3/4 the cost. The staff wasnt exactly friendly either. May merely be symptomatic if small town mindset? I am unsure.

The food is good. Looks pretty clean. My only complaint was they forgot to add a fork to my to go baked potato,had to eat with my fingers.

Fires were bland and non salty, Mac and cheese was watered down, drinks were 80% ice. Burger was half there ? Only one slice on bread for a whole burger ?!

This place is very cozy and good prices. The owner, I believe, talked to us as we ordered. He over heard my husband ask if I wanted cheese sticks I said no cause I would be full. He made a small order of them for us. Would definitely be back and recommend to others

Great Chicken Fried Steak and Chicken Strips . We also love the burgers, and fries. I love the hamburger steaks with grilled onions when they have the brown gravy available ( usually only on Sundays ). I also love the chili and chili dogs both with fries.Stew/ soup is also very good. I dont have anything negative to say except I wish that they had their brown gravy alot more frequently.D and P Maher

The food was of good quality and that is the reason why I give this place 2 stars. On the other hand, the service at this place, to say the least, was lacking. It all started when I came inside to order my food from the cashier. I ordered my food and before I went to sit down she asked me if I wanted my receipt, to which I replied no. It makes good business sense during the transaction to 1. to tell the customer the number in which they get their meal from the queue, she did not provide that 2. To ask the customer if they would like to dine-in or take-out their order, again she did not do that. so I sit down for about 10 minutes until I look up and see an order that looked to be mine on a tray in two baskets, and it was. The only problem with the contents of tray was that my drink was not on it. so I left with my order without my drink which they withheld from me.

Cfs was pretty bland, but hot. Mashed potatoes was good and hot.But the Main problem was my girlfriend had a bug in her ice. A worm-like thing... Some sort of larvae frozen inside a piece of her ice... I had to poor my drink out after I seen it.Detail that machine fellas.

This place is a hidden treasure! As the name implies, it is a baseball themed home style diner. Nothing here is healthy (or vegetarian), but everything is freshly made and delicious! The hand breaded, made like I make it, chicken fried steak is my go to choice, but I have never eaten anything here that wasnt great!

The quality has gone down here, but its still nice. It tends to attract older folks, the line gets long around lunch. You order at the counter then seat yourself. They sell portions of cobler and pie, those are pretty good. Homestyle American food, very much baseball themed.

Nice easy access with plenty of parking and a spacious restaurant inside. You do have to get there early or expect to wait in line. The service is fast and efficient but you order at the cash register. It was such a cold day the first time I ate there so I tried a bowl of chili.....HUGE success! The chili is the best in town! I have been spoiled to eat chili anywhere else. If I wasnt a refined woman, I would have licked the bowl! Thankfully the restaurant is air conditioned so I can enjoy a bowl of chili in the middle of the summer.

The atmosphere is very comfy and open and the baseball theme is great. The service was very fast and efficient, but I have to say I was disappointed in the chicken friend steak...it was tough, dry, and hard to cut, plus it and the gravy completely lacked flavor. The curly fries, and green beans were pretty tasty and the Frito pie was very filling and flavorful.

Bang for the buck this is one of the better places in town. Never had a bad meal there, Standard American fare, everything on the menu (though not the best youve ever had) is great and the price be cant be beat.

I used to he a frequent customer of Home Plate Diner. How far have they fallen!! Absolutely the worst chicken fried steak I have ever had. No flavor what so ever. This place needs new owners/ management and definitely a new cook. Or close the doors permanently.
