I had a Slave cylinder oil flush and refill done. Originally, I felt weary taking my Corvette Z51 to Craftsman vs the Chevy dealer. But I gave it a shot bc they were walking distance from my house vs driving 40 min to the dealership. Craftsman did exactly what I asked them to do. They trusted my opinion. They did not try selling or fixing anything else that didn’t need fixing, unlike what many mechanics try to do. What pleased me the most is that the service advisor listened to the issues, and did not reject my knowledge. I’m sure he knows a lot more than me about cars!! After listening, he would then provide other possible issues if the flush didn’t fix my issue.The flush did the trick and the sticky clutch issue was gone. The car felt new! Now that I know my extended warranty is accepted there, I will go to Craftsman for most of my issues from now on. Finding a trusted mechanic is difficult to do, so Craftsman Auto is a good place to start!! I’m glad I did. Lastly, Mason gave me a military discount. Thank you!

My vehicle needed brakes and I took it there for a quote/inspection.Leesa was quick to give me the inspection and quote and explain exactly what the issue was. This is not something that you get at other shops. The detail that they go through to truly explain what their techs discovered is refreshing. The vehicle was fixed promptly with all issues resolved and I have had no issues since. I would recommend this shop to anyone who is in need of service, repair or simply advice.

Craftsman is great! They were pretty busy so I felt a little lost and had to call for an update but they are so professional and efficient. Very direct in what they’re going to do and willing to go into more detail where necessary. It’s a little more expensive than other options but in my opinion worth it for the level of service they provide.

I went here to have my rims changed last minute, they found a way to make time for me, and even got me out fast enough to make it to work in time. They performed a brake fluid exchange on a recently purchased 6 year old vehicle that probably had the original fluid, but very low mileage. I appreciated the overall vehicle inspection which produced a clean bill of mechanical health. The work was performed quickly, properly and they were able to meet my time table. I will return when additional maintenance or repair is needed.

I have to say that Craftsman is a great business. I recently had to get my truck checked out by a local dealer because the issue was only able to be checked by a dealership. In the process the dealership identified about $4k worth of immediate repairs. Fast forward, I asked Craftsman to take a look and they had a completely different report, one that was more accurate and representative of the status of my vehicle. I trust them with my business and highly recommend their services.

I have a 2011 Chevy Equinox that I bought from Ourisman Chevrolet dealership. I have been living in Alexandria, VA, since 2011. Prior to Craftsman, my go to auto service repair shops were the dealership, Yates in Kingstowne, and the Exxon repair at the corner of Van Dorn and Edsall Road. Those shops promise complete car diagnostics. They never really delivered. For example, in August 2021, I took my car to Ourisman because of odd sounds in the engine and a shimmying steering wheel. I asked Ourisman to give me a full diagnostic. Ourisman fixed the brakes. But there were still weird noises.Last week, I knew my Equinox needed exhaust work. But the car was riding funny in a way not related to the exhaust system. And the odd noises were still there. Craftsman ran a complete car diagnostic. First time any of these shops really did one despite me asking each of them to do one. The diagnostic report provided details for every aspect of the car. They identified a problem with my front suspension that none off the repair shops found. They also fixed the exhaust system. Craftsman is more professional and competent than any of those other auto repair shops. I wish I had found them sooner. LP

Received a flat tire on the road in the afternoon, called Craftsman Auto Care and they said theyd try to fit me in (obv they have appointments pre-booked). Took my chances and drove super slow there since this was the closest and top place given the reviews. Boy the ratings do this place justice. 10 minutes in, they updated me on the initial inspection. Another 10 I received another update and solution. Anther 10 minutes after I was out the door with a fixed tire at a fair rate. I got lucky one of their appointments rescheduled, and at the same time super thankful for them taking me in on this rainy day. I was pretty stressed since I was on a work run but they made it so much better. Always sucks to get a flat tire and Im glad to have found this shop. Professional, clean, and communicative. Highly recommend. Thank you.

My car failed inspection due to tire wear, so I agreed to new tires being put on. I was promised that the tire replacement and alignment on my car would be completed yesterday by 12:30. I got the new tires, but the alignment had not even begun. I needed to drive the car, so I picked it up anyway. As I began to drive, the interior warning lights indicated all of the tires were low.I returned the car today for alignment, yet was called and informed that the alignment could not be completed due to rusted parts that would need to be replaced. Now there is an additional $1000 + charge for this work before my car can be passed through inspection?! This seems like gouging to me.This is definitely not the way a business that wants to retain customers performs.1/14/21 updateAfter three different drop-offs to get the work completed, my car still showed dashboard lights for all four tires being low. Craftsman spent an hour “recalibrating” my onboard computer, but told me it would take driving it for at least 10 miles at a rate of 15-60 mph for the recalibration to “take.” Turns out, it took only a 2 mile drive to my local gas station that had an air pump. Less than one minute per tote, and all four of the Low Tire lights went out. 😡

I had my car towed to Craftsman Auto when it wouldn’t start. Drew took a look at it for me and let me know there was nothing wrong with the car but the chip in the key wasn’t working and the anti-theft system in the car prevented me from starting it. I had just had my keys re-keyed a couple of days prior but the keys weren’t working properly so I had to have the locksmith take care of the issue. Drew didn’t charge me despite taking the time to diagnose the problem. He and the woman I initially spoke to on the phone (afraid I don’t remember her name) were both very polite and professional. I will definitely take my car to Craftsman Auto the next time it needs work!

Ive always wanted to come here. I have a smart car so I wanted to be sure to go somewhere that they take care of your car. Ive had my car broken by other service places. They even provide a ride to where youre going. Id go here even though I live pretty far away. Its a small business and their customer experience is outstanding. Best auto care experience Ive had. They send you pictures with annotations on everything they do. Additionally the customer service folks deal really well with customers. I witnessed first hand a belligerent customer dealt with by the endlessly patient front end manager. Prices are fair and services are professional. The cleanliness of the location is outstanding in the field and I highly recommend this business.

We brought our car in to the McLean location for a state inspection and they noticed that we were due for an emissions test, which they performed as well. Minor issues were discovered, which we opted to have fixed, and the cost was very reasonable. They were friendly and professional and honest! I definitely recommend and would use them again.

Craftsman’s Auto Care - Alexandria treats its customers right. I had gone to another auto shop for an alignment and was told one of my tie rods had seized and needed to be replaced. I went to Craftsman’s for a second opinion. They unseized the tie rod for free. I also appreciate the way they take time to explain everything involved in any work. These guys respect their customers and treat them right.

Ive had excellent service before at Craftsman, so when my license plate was dangling and I didnt know how to fix it, I dropped by. In no time, they fixed it up and waved me away when I tried to pay. I find all the staff professional, knowledgeable, and just plain friendly and responsive. A real pleasure.

The mechanics at this shop are great, but the owner of this shop has some serious issues. I called the shop in March 2020, met the owners brother, Bob, and recieved a formal quote from Craftsman Auto for work to be done on my car. Bob was excited and couldnt wait to work on my car. Bob and another mechanic Rick, got my car running and I drove it around. I proceeded to get the body work that they recommended, at a different shop. I then brought the car back to Craftsman, with their approval, only to have the owner step in and not honor any agreements I had previously made with his brother. After asking if he could tow my car, at my cost, to Chantilly, where he would have more room, which I promptly refused, Matt Curry then decided that he doesnt want to work on my car for less than $10000. The previous quote was for $3000. I asked why he wouldnt honor the quote and he said that he didnt want to touch that piece of junk. If you can avoid the owner of this place, all the others are great to work with...

Really excellent work. Work has always been done correctly and on time. Communication has been very good. No attempts at up-selling and the advice given has always been reasonable.

I had an excellent customer service with Craftsman. I had the assumption that my brakes needed to be replaced (a prior placed had said so), but Bob said that wasnt the case. He took the time to diligently explain the issues with my SUV in a way that made me feel confident I was making the right decision. I trust the Currys above all places Ive taken my SUV.

This shop is amazing! Fantastic! Superb! Craftsman Auto Care - Alexandria is by far the best Auto shop in Fairfax County. The reason I choose them is because of their honesty and skill. The free coffee and treats are nice too. What surprises me is the clean shop/ bathrooms and the free shuttle ride. My oil change was done by Alejandro Espinoza and he performed a free vehicle health inspection. He emailed me the report with pictures, notes and explanations of everything about my car. The process of getting my car worked on here is comfortable, futuristic, unique and easily understandable. I definitely recommend Drew Rogers and his team at Craftsman Auto Care and my friends have all been happy customers too.

Ive had a trusted mechanic for 20 years, but moved to NOVA in 2016 and couldnt find a replacement until I found Craftsman Auto. They truly put my import back together after sitting for over 6 months. they upgraded my turbo, exhaust manifold, high pressure fuel pump, installed high flow CAT, fixed broken vacuum and return lines, radiator flush, inatalled rear motor mount, tightened my suspension, ordered missing gaskets, conducted an oil change, COBB Tuned it and passed my state inspection, ALL while keeping me updated throughout the process. Im very happy with their work and customer service and hope to continue this relationship for a long time! Thanks guys!

The quality of service and professionalism at Craftsman Auto Care is exceptional! The manager, Drew, promised to get the the bottom of my recent sporadic car troubles. When it turned out that I had a cracked engine block, he was kind enough to waive the diagnostic fee and help me get my car to the dealer for a warranty claim. On top of all of that, they even gave me a ride back to work! This business is highly ethical and supportive of American military members. I would recommend them to anyone in need of auto maintenance or repairs!

Do not trust these guys. I brought my vehicle here for a standard safety inspection. After replacing two tires and battery terminals they failed me for the passenger safety air bag sensor. They told me that they had to order a new sensor and would call me when it came in. They called me on a Monday and told me the part had arrived, so I scheduled to bring my vehicle in on Wednesday. I was out of town, so my wife had to go to the appointment. After she waited for over an hour, they said they actually had the wrong part - so she had to wait another hour for them to go get another. They “replaced the sensor” but told her that it was actually a different problem, so she’d have to bring the car back another time. They did such a shoddy job that when she got the car back the turn signal did not work. I called them and they said they must have knocked it loose when they were putting in the sensor (which they said they took back out so I still had my old sensor). For my inconvenience they literally offered to “be as efficient as possible” if I brought the car back to fix the air bag issue. The fact that these guys think being efficient is some sort of special deal for a customer is all you need to know about this business.

Customer service is very professional. The waiting room & shop at the KINGSTOWNE, VA. location are very clean, well-maintained and welcoming to customers & their pets (w/ dog treats & a water bowl for Fido). They did take a LONG time to complete the work. My brake job on one axle (w/ new rotors) took almost 6 HOURS. The delay was partially due to their ordering the wrong parts from their warehouse? Once the error was caught, & the correct part re-ordered, the job went smoothly. I really like the 40 pt. full auto inspection Craftsman provided. They caught many problems proactively, & provided very good recommendations & alerts!!!

The staff are very friendly and knowledgible.For Northern Virginia the pricing is reasonable.Both times I have dealt with them the repairs were completed in a timely manner and they did not try to oversell me on services that I did not need.They did provide recommendations but did not use scare tactics to get me make non-critical repairs.

I would give zero Star if I could. I took my car to the Craftsman auto care for patching my flat tire. The manager tried his best not to to patch my flat tire but to sell me a new tire for $800. He won’t help me unless I pay for a new tire. I had to get tire patched other auto care. Warning! Don’t go there unless you want to waste money!

From my parents experience today...well done!First they took the car nearby and had the emissions done for us.   It passed so they didn’t have to worry about that.  We took it in for a 60,000 mile service.  Replaced front strut assemblies and sway bar links, wheel alignment, new battery (car had original) and we got a senior citizen discount.  They seemed very nice and the girl when she delivered the car up front had a piece of candy with their card on the front seat.  Nice touch J.  Took about 4 hours.  They really praised the fine shape the car is in.  Said all the fluids were fine.We will keep them in mind for future service.  Tell your friend we were pleased.

I got my truck serviced there a couple weeks ago and didn’t have a good experience. The “technicians” left an engine cleaner can inside my hood. I spoke to the manager and nothing was done to compensate for there mistake. Prices for breaks was above average as well. DO NOT recommend.

These people are the best! PERIOD! They went beyond the call of duty to make sure my Lexus pass emissions. I learned a lot about my own car while it was being serviced. The entire staff were excellent to work with and I would highly recommend anyone in the area to entrust their car to Craftsman Auto. I will only be taking my cars here from now on! Satisfied customer.

Mike did a great job balancing the wheels on my 1980 Porsche 911 Targa. Car has always had a vibration. He worked on it 3 or 4 hours and went on 2 test drives. Came out perfect. Matt Curry, the owner, runs a great shop and was involved all along with the diagnosis. Definitely my new best repair shop for all my cars. Highly recommend them.

Really good service, though I think their prices might be a bit high.I needed to replace a fog light. They got me in immediately and even offered -without my requesting- to drive me back to the DMV so I could continue registering my car. They were communicative during the process and provide me an inspection report that listed their suggestions. Even once I got back from the DMV and my car was done, they offered (again, without me asking) to put the plates on for me. The entire staff was very professional and courteous.

Of course, yes, recommended service, but absolutely no pressure to make an appointment with them or have it done before picking my car up etc.

They called me by name as I walked in the first time because they recognized the vehicle and appointment time. Always great service, honest information. I have been coming here for the past decade, I understand names, management and ownership had changed. I have always been comfortable with their assessments, old and current owners. However, with the new name, management, and new owner, they have taken it to the next level. I enjoy bringing my vehicles and the experience of being treated like a customer.

Just got my vehicle back and shes running as good as new! The guys were thorough in describing the work that needed to be done, and though in my case it was a LOT of repairs, they got it done very quickly, and for a reasonable price. Five star performance in my book! Thank you very much, C.A.C.!!

What a rip-off. Took my car here for service on my tire that had a nail in it and was told that I needed to replace all 4 tires because I have an all-wheel drive vehicle. My husband told me this place was trying to rip me off and to take my car to the dealer for a second opinion. I called Craftsman of Alexandria a few days later and asked if they could replace the one tire that needed service and they told me no, I need to replace at least 2 tires, although my thread on the other tires was 60%. They also said I needed spark plugs and various additional services which made me suspicious since my car is under warranty with BMW and had recently been serviced. Later, I took my car to BMW of Alexandria and they replaced my tire with no problem. I showed them the estimate from Craftsman and they too said I was being ripped off. Buyer beware!Update: Recently, I received a response from Craftsmen after writing this review and was told that all 4 tires needed to be replaced. Again, that was not the case. BMW said this place should have replaced the one tire per the customer’s request and and that it was ok. They also said had I replaced the remaining tires Craftsman would have sold my $245 ea. tires to someone else. I work around the corner from this place and my co-worker advised me not to visit. I should have listened to her. Also, I received an estimate for over $1500 for other items that didn’t need repair (per Bmw) Again, a ripoff.

I had the best experience at Craftsman today! Had my cars state inspection completed at a gas station - it failed bc it needed new breaks. Called Craftsman on the spot and they took care of it first thing the following morning. I picked my car up, and headed back to the gas station to get rid of my embarrassing sticker of rejection ... when I noticed that the sticker was gone and had been replaced by the state inspection sticker. I called Craftsman with a head full of steam because I thought I had just paid twice for an inspection (not my finest moment). Brandon was so kind, so polite, and showed me that they had just taken care of it when they saw the paperwork on the front seat! They didnt charge me at all - my receipt just showed the charge for the breaks, and included a discount they had emailed me! Really couldnt have asked for a better experience, and so appreciate Brandons professionalism despite my tiny temper tantrum. Customers for life!

Took my truck in for an oil change and wanted them to check it out to ensure it didnt need other maintenance. Definitely very impressed with the website, the shop is clean, very nice customer waiting area, the online portal they use to show you what they have checked and what needs attention is best in the industry. They found some things that needed attention and quoted me their rates. Unfortunately, they werent much different than my Chevy dealer and even though I was going to spend over $1,200 with them, they were only willing to honor my oil change coupon of a few bucks. Make sure to call around before commiting to any large job, even their transmission and coolant flush was dealer price worthy, especially see what the dealer is asking for the same job. Bottom line, they are the best when it comes to overall experience, but typical when it comes to pricing at $143/labor hour. Ended up getting the $1,200 job done for $750 at a smaller shop.

Before I moved to the area I reached out to my uncle because he owns and operates a mechanic shop in Atlanta, GA. He told to look for a local shop with long-term ownership and an ASE certification. This shop meets those needs.We own 2 vehicles and exclusively use this shop for the service and maintenance of our vehicles. They are very reasonable and honest people. They refuse to provide me with any work thats unnecessary for my vehicle. (Im the type of person that look for reasons to spend money.) I drop my car off at 8 am in the morning and pick it up after lunch time everytime I need routine maintenance performed on the car.As an added bonus, they also looked at a used car I was intending and later purchased.Its great to have a mechanic you know, like, and trust with your car. I dont have to worry about my wife being sold services or parts that she doesnt need.Ill continue using this company as long as I own a car.

I service my Audi and my Ford here. So far, this place is great! Brakes for my Audi would have cost me $900 (labor + parts) at the dealership. I ordered my own brakes and I paid Kingstowne Auto to install them. I saved almost 70% off what the dealer was trying to charge me! Also, they dont charge you to do routine checks - they only charge for the work that needs to be done. The prices are very good for labor (I order all my own parts) and the repairs get finished by the time I get off of work. I wish I had started bringing my vehicles here a long time ago, I would have saved thousands upon thousands of dollars vs. taking my vehicles to the dealers.

They sent me a report on things needing fixup in 2hrs after taking in my car, which included photos of the tread wear, rotor condition, tire mis-alignment parameters etc. Wow!Texted me what they recommend to be done. Nice staff and reasonable prices. Id go back to the Vienna location if needed.

My car engine wouldnt turn so I had my car towed here. Friendly staff and -- i dont know why-- but i was so enthralled that they texted me the results of the inspection they did on my car, and sent me a pdf of the estimate. Technology is neat. They replaced my starter and my car works again, so I have no complaints.

Lived in Alexandria for several months and looked for an auto shop that is reliable and reasonable and came across Craftsman Auto Care. Being from a small town it is important to me to find a trustworthy place that doesn’t provide service yet, steals your money. Craftsman Auto Care was personable and cost efficient. Thank you for advertising the Groupon deal and including a Free vehicle diagnostic in the package 😁

Went in for a tire rotation, came out with pieces all over my car. I tried to figure out where this pieces came from, found out that it was from the glove box. I open up my glove box in my car and what do you know there was the cover to the cabin filter in my glove box. They took off the glove box to get to the cabin filter and just felt like not putting it back together. I wonder what else they forgot to put back together. At this point Im just waiting for my car to fall apart from some missing item they forgot to put back together. I came for a TIRE ROTATION, that should be easy to do right? Even that they didnt do right, they rotated only one pair of tire, like can they do anything right. I dont see how you can trust this company if they cant even put a cabin filter cover back together and at least correctly connect the glove box. I only noticed because the glove was shaking while I was driving. I hate how they send you this link for some COURTESY INSPECTION, detailing all the problems with my car. In order to do this courtesy inspection, they have to touch and some time take apart (like cabin filter) just to give you an inspection that you never asked for. Who know what theyve broken while doing this inspection. If I wanted an inspection I would ASK for it. I just went in for a TIRE ROTATION. It might help if i spelled it out for them T-I-R-E R-O-T-A-T-I-O-N.Im not surprised though, its not my first bad experience with this company, but its definitely my last.
