Got a quote over the phone to put a hitch I purchased on our 2021 Subaru. Made an appointment. On the day of the appointment all my information was in the system and they took the car in right away. They made sure our bike rack was compatible and did a very professional install. They even put the bike rack on. Happy we found Sparky’s for the day our factory warranty expires!

I bought a Subaru Forrester from a buddy and needed to pass emissions testing to get it registered. The check engine light was on and there were five items that caused the car to fail the emissions test. I called Sparkys and scheduled an appointment the same week. They took care of the problems, and actually fixed a leak they noticed at no extra charge for me. It even ended up costing less than I was originally quoted.I passed my emissions test with flying colors, the car is running much smoother than it was previously, and I havent seen a check engine light turn on since!The people at Sparkys are true blue. Good, honest mechanics with a passion for what they do. Any work on the car that I cant manage, I will have fixed by Sparkys. I dont trust anybody else but them with my previous experiences with other auto repair shops.

Sparkys is my go to mechanic for my 2006 Subaru Outback. I brought it in to make sure it was ready to go on my road trip...checking hoses, fluids, belts etc. Ben told me that everything looked good, but I needed front brake and rotor replacement. I knew that, but I was putting it off. I agreed, and he got it done in 4 hours. Point being, they really check everything! They have always been honest and reliable.

I was considering purchasing a 2017 Subaru Outback with low miles and a clean Carfax, but wanted it looked at before I committed. Thats where Sparkys came in. I had them do some custom work on my vehicle, and they did it all with top-notch skill. I have had them fix work that was done incorrectly by a Subaru dealership in town. These guys were awesome. I was driving across country and had a wheel bearing issue. I called them right as they wear closing and they were able to get me in the next morning and had it repaired by early afternoon and I was able to get on my way. They fixed the problem and drove another 5000 miles or so with no issues. They also gave me a loner car so I could go get breakfast and stuff while I waited. Thanks to them for their help.

If you need any repairs to your suburu I highly recommend these guys. As a woman I felt that they treated me fairly and were so kind. They did not over charge for services, recommending things that needed to be done but not tagging on extras.

5 stars all the way. Great customer service, responsive, fast and reasonably priced. After payed over $100 to have the Subi dealer unsuccessfully diagnosing my mystery engine noise I brought my 2017 Forester XT (50k miles, still under warranty) to Sparkys. The guys there took time to chat with me and did a quick test drive. Within minutes they had the exhaust manifold leak diagnosted and parts ordered. I dropped the car off a few days later and they had the car reapaired before I could even call and ask what time the car would be finished. The work would have been covered under warranty but dealing with the dealership wasnt worth it. I highly recomend Sparkys the next time your Subi needs some love!Thanks Sparky, -Tyler

Best place to take your Subaru. Have gotten my 2013 STI fullly inspected, fenders rolled, and oil changes done here. All from an excellent staff and friendly and accommodating owner.

They are super friendly and very honest. It is a bit difficult to find appointments lately but totally worth to take your car there.

We had a really great experience - everyone working at the shop was both extremely professional and down-to-earth. There ended up being a slight complication with our car and they all went above and beyond to take care of us. I would recommend these guys without reservation or hesitation!

Sparkys saved me when my clutch replacement got botched by another mechanic. They did everything they could to accommodate my needs either through pricing or making sure I had a loaner car to use. Because of that, I came back to get my A/C done and even though *I* dropped the ball on rescheduling an appointment, they squeezed me in when they really didnt have to. Sparkys (Ben in particular) has been awesome and Im sad to move away because now I have to find another mechanic thatll probably never hold a candle. 12/10 would recommend.

I took my Subaru there because it had been over-heating. (Which Subarus are known for). The service writer said theyd diagnose it. So, I sat down and was prepared to wait awhile for them to figure it out. After two minutes, he came back and said I had blown head gaskets and parts of it were in the antifreeze. It would cost $2800 to fix it. To be fair, that included the water pump, timing belt, etc. So, I said ok. But, after researching what other places charged, I went to go get it. My ex said he thought it was the thermostat. After two jugs of new anti freeze and a thermostat, my car runs fine. And, the old antifreeze was clear.When reputable mechanics see a woman coming, I think they turn into the biggest shysters! They were perfectly fine saying that because they replace everything it could be. Un-necessarily.

Ladies!! So sad after being a loyal customer that Ben charged me 3x the dealer’s rate for a 90 k service (almost $ 1000 instead of $377). When I pointed it out to him, he made it sound like he was doing me a favor by lowering it to 2x the rate. The extra work they did ( changing spark plugs) does not justify the difference. Know your estimates and Don’t trust these guys.

Instead, we were welcomed by the office manager, owner (Ben), his business partner and two lovable dogs. We cannot say enough about the care and services provided by Ben and his staff. Ben was thorough and explained the need for certain services. He did not charge us for his diagnostic services and went above and beyond to ensure that we were well taken care of. Their professionalism, knowledge and caring attitude are such a refreshing change from the industry status-quo! Truly felt that we were family as opposed to customers. I was transiting from South Carolina to Arizona and was afraid something might fall off or break when I was on a deserted highway. They took me right in even though they were working on two other vehicles. Test drove my car 2011 outback, put it on a ramp, tightened some bolts, did an underneath inspection and said I was good to go. No charge. Yep. No charge. Worth the drive from SF to ABQ to get this level of service for my 02 WRX. Used to have a couple of guys at the dealership in SF years ago, but they moved on and I had a bad experience at Mikes in SF. Extensive deferred maintenance and it was handled over a couple of visits. An AC issue finally was resolved (half a dozen compressors with a couple of prior places). They gave the car a thorough going over, found some things that I wasnt aware of, checked things they thought needed attention and reported that they were up to snuff and didnt need attention. They did the work that needed to be done, didnt do unnecessary work, found the parts,had it done when they said they would... and pleasant. Kudos to Ben (full disclaimer, Ive known him for maybe 8 or 9 years, but this is the first time that hes worked on my car and I dont think I got special treatment, it seems he treats everyone this way), Colt and Brittany. Its a laid back place, standard poodles, his dad brings by ice cream and friends wander in and out. Id be surprised if you werent completely satisfied and blown away by the service.

I can count on these guys to take care of my subie!

Took in my 04 wrx for a valve cover gasket job, made an appointment the day earlier and they were ready as soon as i arrived, gaskets were fixed by the end of the day, oil topped off and my wiper fluid was even filled. Nice people and good work for about half the cost of a dealership.

I drove to Rio Rancho to officiate a friends wedding but on the way from Salt Lake City my 03 WRX developed a problem.I attempted to call the dealers but couldnt even get through to their service dept. Blessing in disguise, I found Sparkys on line and called. Brittany was friendly and provided me with an estimate for my cv axle. We discovered that in addition to the axle, the center diff was failing. Ben, the owner, worked to get the part delivered from Santa Fe and they had my baby running perfect the next day.If you need Subaru repairs in Albuquerque, I highly recpmmend Sparkys.
