Alabaster, AL -Mechanic told daughter that skid plate did do any good and said to leave it off. I am furious! Your business has no business removing parts off of car getting an oil change and convincing customer to leave it off. I will be contacting owners, DM’s and whoever else I can find as well as contacting BBB in Shelby county and Alabama.Very unprofessional as that helps protect engine components to some degree. You think Ford just puts parts on a car for the heck of it ? There are reasons for that piece being there.

I was pleasantly surprised with all the rumors about the company as a whole but the work was measured, quick, and the job was done right. The workers kept up a polite banter and my now three or so trips have been great.

Staff was polite but everything is way over priced and I didnt get the road hazard coverage I asked for but then I got charged for stuff I didnt ask for and when I called to work it out I was placed on hold only to be hung up on... Will not buy here again

The last time I visited I just got a oil change but this time was mechanical. In and out in an hour with the best service in the area hands down. My Jeep runs better than it has in years. Visited this location on December 16, 2020 to get an oil change, wiper blades replaced, and check the air in my tires. The staff member who assisted me, Michael, provided quality service. The wiper blades he recommended were so great that I came right back with my other car and purchased the same wiper blades and check the air in my tires. Ill definitely be back the next time one of my vehicles needs servicing.

Logan was a great technician. He was very thorough with my tire inspection and he was able to detect a really big problem that was hazardous.

Didnt properly seal up transmission when putting in new fluid. We even brought in the car for them to check to make sure everything was running smoothly a few days later and nothing was ever mentioned.

Headed toward the interstate this morning and started hearing a clicking sound. Pulled over and found a screw the size of my pinkie in my rear passenger side tire. Came straight to Express expecting a long wait because its Friday and it was already 9:30. Tire couldnt be repaired, but they replaced it and another one that was worn for a good price. I was on my way in about an hour. Cant beat that kind of service!

I wish I could throw all of my emotions at everyone reading this review about how much I appreciate every single one of the staff members here and how good they are at doing their jobs. I work in a transportation job and I get my oil changed every three weeks. On cold mornings or rainy mornings they are smiling and friendly but never pushy about services (Ill change my own air filter thanks XD). When I have a nail in my flattening tire and no time to fix it, they do not rub it in my face when I come back two days with an even worse flat (oops) but are still friendly and compassionate. I dont go anywhere else!

They were very efficient and helped me understand my car a little bit better! I didn’t get the name of the guy who helped me but the initials on my receipt say CB he was a younger guy, he was such a nice guy!! He was a great help and I highly recommend this location because of him!!

Took my VW Passat in for an oil change and then car starts leaking oil. This is Mobile 1 Synthetic. Took the car to Quicklane and found Express Oil in Alabaster stripped out my oil drain plug and this is where the oil was leaking from. This is the second vehicle this has happened to at Express Oil in Alabaster. I had a Ford SportTrac this happened to also.**update** Contacted the Express Oil location and they fixed the issue and performed an oil change at their cost since I was out $101 for the original oil change. While I was initially super upset, they did fix the issue. I will continue to use them to service my vehicles.

Very friendly and got a good laugh... this is the first time back to this place since I was 15... my father worked for years before he passed away in 04... was alil emotional to be back... but glad I got a good laugh.

I’m leaving this poor review because of the poor work that express offers. I brought my work van to see about the transmission acting up after I paid to have the vehicle inspected they said nothing was wrong. They also didn’t want to service me due to i had been to another express. Either way to speed up the story the van went out due to transmission issues and has been down prior to the date I took it to express. Now I took my car to express to get the fluids flushed. Wasn’t running hot nor was it smoking. After I left it was smoking. I called and took it back to express the guy said “that since I had them change the fluids, removing all the gunk and cleaning it made all the pressure which was about 16lbs of pressure you make some intake valve break.” So I asked did I pay for my car to get in worse shape. He responded “we did what you asked sorry that’s how it turned out.” Thanks express y’all are the best. -Another happy customer.

Very, very sweet guy who did my oil change. Just a little pricey. Basic $42.99 oil change with one air filter ended up costing $71+. Ouch. Also, before, when I needed my spark plugs changed out, they were quoting me around $455 I did it myself with 4 new coils for $269.

I went to Alabaster Express Oil to have my routine oil change. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable . The technician identified that there were several issues with my car. My engine coolant was very low as it had been leaking out of a hose near my radiator. I had had some work done on my car at a dealership due to some recalls, and they had not put the hose clamps back on after reassembly! The technician had me get out of my car and showed me the problems. He was extremely informative and treated me as an intelligent person. There was also an issue with cleaning my throttle which was supposedly done at the dealer, but was not as evidenced by the amount of build-up that the Express Oil technician showed me. In 30 minutes, the oil was changed, the hoses fixed, the throttle was cleaned, and I was better educated about my car. Better yet, this had saved my car from over-heating and stranding me on the side of the road!I have to say that I have been driving my car for a week now and it drives like a new car. I had no idea how jerky the throttle had become and now my car changes gears smoothly. I just thought my car was getting old (it is a 2005 model with over 90,000 miles). Thank you Express Oil Change of Alabaster for saving me and my car, for treating me with respect, for offering great service at a reasonable price, and for never pressuring me to buy any unnecessary items. This is not just an oil change; it is REAL service.

SHADY, RIP-OFF artists.I took a car in that had a messed up wheel and rotor. Lugs were bad, lost Lugnuts etc. I used roadside assistance to get it there, because it was one of the closer options. I watched it being unloaded and talked to them for a while about specifically what needed to be done, and they assured me that it looked really straightforward and simple.When they called me back, they quoted me $811 for the repair, which is more then twice as much as this job should cost. The parts amount to less than $200 for a rotor, hub and possibly a wheel bearing. The wheel bearing didnt even need to be replaced when I took it somewhere else later. After much haranguing, I finally figured out that they were quoting me a price to repair BOTH sides, when only one side was broken.They refused to put a new rotor on the car so that I could simply tow it myself with a tow dolly to another mechanic and insisted that I could either have it towed ... or have it repaired their way. Ive encountered this kind of thing with mechanics taking advantage of people who dont know anything about cars etc., but Ive never witnessed being argued with about a repair that Im actually quite knowledgeable of ...while having my car held against my will.This repeatedly brought to mind images of shady, Third World, backroom dealings and bribery, the likes of which I have never witnessed stateside in dealing with a business. I would never let this place change a spark plug or change the oil on ANY vehicle I own, and I would adamantly insist that anyone acquaintance NEVER go there.Id have to check, but Im pretty sure this is the only one-Star review Ive ever given. I mostly give fairly positive reviews. This establishment is engaged in what basically amounts to lowlife thievery and extortion.

Need an oil change/fluids topped off quickly and money is no object? This is your place. Need ANYthing else done? Good luck. Car was overheating and I mentioned with my limited mechanical experience that I thought it might be a bad thermostat. They said they’d take a look at it and call with an estimate. 3 hours later got the call that it WAS the thermostat and I was looking at around $680+tax. I called a few other places and was quoted the same job for around $250-$400. Didn’t get much of a chance to look at it myself cause I had to be at work that day. Next day I replaced the $7 radiator cap and problem was fixed. So they obviously never examined my car or would’ve seen the cap spring had gotten loose from wear and was leaking coolant and not sealed. Charged me $20 diagnostic fee saying “it was in the paperwork I signed” even though diagnostic fees were never mentioned when I asked. Sorry guys, won’t be coming back.

These guys are great. And honest. I was sure I had brake issues on all four wheels. The manager insisted i did NOT need all around brakes. He said the Front Rotors were warped but the Pads looked Good. He also said he could Turn the Rotors instead of getting New ones. A Lot of places would have just gone ahead and done the all around Brakes. Highly Recommend this location!!!

Had a radiator issue with my truck pulled into express oil change without hesitation they accessed the problem put it in the bay and repaired it. And the cost was way less than I expected to pay. I am so grateful for the care and service provided by the staff. David and his team is the best.

Definitely not your typical experience with a mechanic and it was greatly appreciated. Building trust with your customers is key to running a successful business and these guys won my trust today.

Very untrustworthy shop. They did damage to my car then try to deny they did, just to try and get me to let them repair it. Will never use their shop again. I get my oil changed once a month. Far better service out there that deserve my hard earned $.

David and the fine folks at Tire Engineers fixed a puncture in our Bridgestone run flat when all others in the area said they could only replace the tire. They also did this faster and for less cost than quoted. With friendly service to boot they exceeded expectations. Thank yall very much.

I came here for a quick oil change, and fuel filter change. Been here for over three hours because they kept breaking things with the fuel system. They had to pick up replacement parts from two different dealerships. I will never bring my F350 here again. Hopeful, we wont be here much longer. I need to take my truck to ford dealership to have my truck checked once I leave here.

If you need something other than an oil change, go somewhere else. An hour and counting to have a bulb replaced because they broke a metal clamp/piece that holds the light. I ask why its taking so long and the gentleman responds with I dont know, but I sat and watched the other gentleman take the piece he broke to a different gentleman and tell him that the piece broke. They come back and tell me that theyre showing the other guy how to do it properly (as if they didnt already take more time than they should have) I respond with I dont have the time for your trainings and he responded with theyre doing it free. Not sure how a customers vehicle becomes your training vehicle after already being advised that I have an appointment to get to. Also, I came there to have the light replaced expecting to pay for it so why he phrased that as if he was doing me a favor, Im not sure. Doing me a favor by breaking something...got it.

Took my car in for a slow leak in the tire. Technician took one look and said the leak was on the side wall and I would have to get a new tire. Even I knew what he was pointing at was not where it was leaking. I took it down the road to Tire Engineers and they found a big screw in the middle of the tire. Stop with the hard sell already. Not everyone is made of money! When it is time for new tires I know where Im not going and where I am going, Tire Engineers!
